Junior’s always been an anxious mess, and now was no exception. As a member of the SOS MC, he’s not afraid to be himself around his brothers, but he is wary of pursuing his crush–a smoldering hot package with a shiny badge on it. Elias has a special effect on the MC man, and Junior wants to keep him, there’s just one problem–Elias isn’t keen on his cop friends finding out. Elias was a man living a double life. His crush on the DL was a colorful package wrapped in a bad boy, leather jacket vibe that always seemed to draw him in. Pursuing justice as a detective is everything Elias wanted out of life–until a chance meeting outside the club sets things between him and Junior in motion.
When things between an MC man and a cop get hot and heavy, boundaries are bound to be pushed, and trust is tested. All’s fair in love and war, but will their budding relationship survive it?
This M/M novella contains content for mature audiences only, MM - male/male , and can be read as a standalone or with the rest of the series. HEA guaranteed. smaller age gap- 23/29
Wife to a supportive loving husband, stay-at-home mom of two-legged and four-legged kids, I enjoy reading, crafting, and teaching as well as writing stories that are stuck in my head. I recently took the leap to self-publish after typing out my stories years ago!
This was a quick read. I’ll preface this by saying I’ve not read any other other books in this series. I didn’t feel lost or like I was missing vital information from the series.
Elias is a cop and Junior is a patched member of an MC. One would think those two things don’t go together, but they worked fairly well here. I sort of felt like this book didn’t know if it wanted to be gritty or not. This is an MC that does all kinds of good things, but one of the members does some pretty unthinkable things. So this books somewhere between sweet and fluffy and somewhat gritty.
The chemistry between Junior and Elias was great. They really enjoyed their spicy time together and I didn’t mind it at all. I also really liked how the author handled Junior’s anxiety issues. Anxiety can be a living, breathing thing and the way it was portrayed for Junior was realistic.
Overall, just an okay book for me. I wish it had been a little longer and the plot and little more fleshed out.
Trigger Warning for anxiety issues, homophobia and homophobic slurs, brief mentions of possible child abuse and murder.
I hadn't read this series yet, and this is the 7th book, but I had no trouble with catching on to the characters. The characters were likable (except the one who wasn't supposed to be!) and I quickly found myself pulled in. Junior is also an anxiety sufferer, which I like to see in books. Mental health disorder representation is so important.
I give this book 4.5 stars because it was a bit rushed in places, but not in a way that it took away from the story, only that I wished there was *more* of the story. It isn't a very long book, but it has a good resolution and a happy ending. *Motorcycle club *Cop/biker *Crush to lover *HEA *Mystery
I love MC books. I love interesting characters. I love stories with a good plot, drama, heat, humor, and characters you can really love. This book has all of that. I haven't read any of this author's other books but now I definitely will be.
I gave it a 5 stars, but really it was more 4.75. I liked it, but it was a little fast at times. Still, the characters are really good, the story was solid, and I love a story with a character who is a mental health rep. As someone who didn't know that anxiety was a THING until I was around 25 (doesn't everyone feel like this?? No? Holy crap!) I am always pleased when I see characters who exhibit the same stims and such as are familiar to me.
All in all, I enjoyed it, and I'll look at the other books in the series.
I haven’t read other books by the other, but now I definitely will. The story had drama, heat, and humor. The characters were interesting and made me want their story. And now I want to binge the series and find out more about their world.
I had an idea for Elias as a spin-off, but after starting that story, it just did not work. However, Junior decided to sit up and take notice of Elias and discreetly waved his hand for a story.
This story flowed very well--when I was able to write :) I had a few hiccups near the end, but I really fell in love with Junior. I hope you enjoy this story as much as my beta readers!
