A known criminal. A well-respected judge. What could go wrong?
At twenty, Rocco has seen more life than most people twice his age. Raised inside a criminal family, Rocco is harder than most. He doesn’t need anyone. In fact, he’s used to living life above the law and on his terms. It grates to want a judge more than twice his age, but he can’t stop. The honorable Judge Byron Chester is under his skin. Rocco must dig him out.
While Byron’s reputation is squeaky clean, he’s been a regular guest at Silas D’s exclusive parties for years. In certain circles, his debauchery is well known. Still, he keeps that side of himself as far away from the public eye as possible. Meeting Rocco wasn’t part of his plan. Byron always intended to live free until he drops dead. He can’t get the much younger troublemaker out of his head. Byron fears he won’t stop coming back for more until Rocco ruins him. Maybe it’s already too late.
With secrets and public images standing in their way, can Rocco and Byron find any common ground? Or will Rocco’s shady life be the end of the line for them… literally?

This was an ok quick read. Not as complex as the other stories in this series. Another reason for Zander to make an appearance and a lead in to Dallas's story in the next series (which I've already enjoyed since I've been reading them out of turn 😁)
Rocco, the young deviant brother, a thug and a drug dealer and Byron, a judge with secrets have a secret 'thing' going on. When Rocco gets stabbed the only place he feels safe to go is Byron, this leads them to unveiling secrets and feelings deeply hidden.
Well written and thoroughly enjoyed. I loved the absence of the dusty trope ‘the big misunderstanding’. Whenever there was a lack of emotional communication between Byron and Rocco, mainly from having had no deep attachments before, the author would provide a scene of one or the other of this couple trying to find a solution, not letting the other run away, not allowing them to break apart and just giving in to the deep love between them. I appreciated that. There was good chemistry between Byron and Rocco and hot sexy times. The plot line of Rocco having a desire to be little at times stayed as a side issue and there was no calling him ‘boy’ or Byron ‘Daddy’. That was refreshing and also appreciated by this reader. I liked the familiar side characters and the introduction of Dallas. I was hoping he might be a love interest for Zander, who would probably overwhelm a sweetie like Dallas. From the preview of the next book it looks like a mysterious stranger will be one half of the next couple. The author has hit on a winning formula with these books and, for me, the last two have been the best. I’m glad the action has moved outside Silas’ boarding house, good character that he is. I’m giving this all the stars because there is so much mm/mf dreck out there that an enjoyable and well written book should be applauded. 👏
We start out with a bang here, when Rocco is attacked, hurt badly, and makes his way to the judge's house. The judge gets home to find Rocco on the shower floor, bloody and out cold. Byron does CPR, saves his life and watches over him. There is his recovery time and more time together for them both. Rocco, 20, is the brother of drug lord, Angelo, plus Rocco is a "little" and Byron did not know that. Byron, 40, a Judge who is respected and wealthy, has an addiction which is Rocco, he can't get enough.
The two men have now shared a near death bonding experience, and we'll see what happens with their intense relationship. They must decide if they can move forward. Many folks are involved in their lives, from the business, court, friends, and Silas' mansion.
We see the actions, and conversations, and Byron understands more than Rocco realizes. We get a blackmail and news media problems, too. It's exciting, and our guys can handle the issues.
I have loved all of the D series so far and this is not an expectation I highly recommend the series which I suggest you read in the border they were written. Can't wait for th spin off series.

I enjoyed this story of the raw passion between them that they could not resist no matter the effect on their careers. I also enjoyed the fact that an incident meant that they both had to realise their feelings and that they clearly needed each other. This story was full of drama and danger but also love and passion. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content. There is some violence in this story.
This was a cute read. Not as dark as I expected, but I was okay with it once I got to know Rocco. He was adorable in a I’m trying to be a bad boy but failing kind of way.
Byron was kind of intense, but he just worked well with Rocco. I enjoyed the evolution of their relationship.
This couple, who you meet in earlier books, finding their happy ever after is just what I wanted! But a side character is sending me to a spin off... And I'm totally fine with that!
