Six-Pack #4

Alpha Brock

Rate this book
SIX-PACK SERIES BOOK FOUR

* While this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading books 1 - 3 (Alpha Gray, Alpha Theo, and Alpha Jax) for context before starting in on this one.

* This book is a slow burn with a very moody, broody protagonist (grumpy/sunshine trope). It will be a bumpy ride for these two to get to their HEA. You've been warned!

BROCK : I don’t believe in happy endings. I stopped believing in them right around the time the woman I loved left me for another man. I was foolish to believe in love and it nearly destroyed me. When I picked myself back up, I swore I’d never be that stupid again. If you never give someone your heart, they can’t break it- so for years, I’ve closed myself off; never opening up, never feeling a thing. Growing more and more bitter as everyone around me finds their happy endings. Then Astrid walked into my life. She’s annoyingly perky, infuriatingly beautiful, and seems convinced that her cheerful little-miss-sunshine act can melt the ice around my heart. Worst of all, though, is some part of me wants her- and a girl like that is dangerous in my hands. She’ll give me every piece of herself, only for me to watch her break when I can’t give her anything in return.

ASTRID : My whole life, I’ve gone with my gut. I get feelings about things and people that others don’t get, and I’ve been told that it’s a special gift; that I’m an ‘intuitive’. I’ve also been accused of being an eternal optimist, which is why I’m thrown for a loop when I get hit with a gut feeling about the moodiest, broodiest guy I’ve ever met, like we’re supposed to be something to each other. Like we’re connected somehow. Trusting my gut hasn’t let me down thus far, but the more time I spend with Brock, the more I wonder whether my ‘gift’ has gone haywire. This guy has built walls around his heart a mile thick, and there’s no way he’s letting anyone through. He’s living his life in the darkness, and I’m a little afraid that if I let myself get too close to him, he may steal my light.

The Six-Pack Series is a collection of werewolf shifter romance novels. These books contain mature content (steamy scenes!) and themes that may not be suitable for younger readers. If frequent use of profanity and f-words offend, then these books may not be for you.

While this book ends with a HEA for the main characters and no major cliffhangers, there are some overarching storylines that may not be resolved at the conclusion of this book because they run throughout the series.

🇺🇲I really enjoyed this story, even though it is the 4th book in the series, its story is very different from the previous ones. Its protagonists go through situations of reflection to find themselves. Enjoy the dynamic of reading as the chapters came out on wattpad even though I was always thinking about the end. I can't wait for the 5th book. If you like werewolf stories this saga is for you.

beautifully written

Finally we have Alpha Brock’s story. This is a grumpy-sunshine fated mates story and I absolutely loved it. Definitely worth the read. Can’t wait to read the rest of the books!

it's not the money, it's the waste of time I'm upset about.

If not for the overarching storyline, I would have abandoned the series.

Really, the only female lead character that is somewhat different is Brooke, from alpha Theo. Even her twin Fallon is just a mash up of all the rest of the h.

Seems the author has the same characteristics for females or males. Over-sexed, desperate and no self respect. If at first you don't succeed, just throw yourself at then until you do. No tension, no push and pull. Just hammer away. Very unattractive trait and frustrating.

Almost like reading the book version of reality tv show Too Hot to handle. Couldn't get past episode 2 of that either. Vulgar and just pornographic.

Without the shadow pack story none of these books would hold up. These are not romances.

I was hoping Astrid would be different because the blurb described her as sweet and sunny. She's a horndog, like any guy. Not sexy just slutty.

She persues him, relentlessly and he's just a little girl at heart. 3 years after a bad breakup, he's still crying at even the mention of his ex.

How can anyone believe he can have a relationship with anyone when he's very so anxious because he might run into his ex. Besides his size and brooding, what makes him an alpha?

Unfortunately I bought the whole series so it's not the money, it's the waste of time I'm upset about.

I am in love with Brock. He’s so moody and grumpy and just hard to love but such a gentleman. The grumpy/sunshine trope in this book has me in a chokehold. I love C.J. Primer’s writing so much and I love this world. I am so sad that it’s almost over. I think her take on finding their mate only on the full moon and having to seal it by the next one is so unique and so good! I think that her writing is so captivating and deserves so much recognition. The story itself was AMAZING in this book we get a huge build up to the battle that we’ve been worrying about for the whole series and we get introduced to Brock’s mate (who I am also in love with) and she is a special kind of wolf who can get good reads on people and then it develops in the book as well into her becoming a seer which is so fricking cool! I love how feisty and self-assured she is and in their relationship. There was one part where she had seen a future with them already and new that they were going to be mated, whether it was fated or chosen, and Brock accidentally called her Anna (his ex) in front of other people and I thought she’d get so upset! But to all of our shock (me and the boys in the book lol) she said it was okay and she knew it was an accident. I think that pairing Brock with Astrid was such a good one! She shows him so much love and just pours her love and devotion into him and he just cracks open and finally gives in and its beautiful. I was flying through the story because of their love story and obviously because of the impending battle. The battle was INSANE and I LOVED it so damn much!! I love love love the fight scenes and my heart was racing! I really loved how she wrote it. I think the added storyline of Astrid being held captive by the Shadow pack was SUCH A SURPRISE! And such a good addition to the story! The ride from start to finish was so good and it’s one of the reasons that I love Primer’s writing! How the book ended was so so so good for me and I am obsessed with Astrid and her powers and her one liner of “I wonder if I should tell Reid his mate is on the way” and then decided not to because it was so so so so so so so good!!! I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

My favourite book of this series! Brock was always my favourite even though he was rough and didn’t say much we already had glimpses about why he was so bitter towards the mate bond, this book really got into the nitty gritty. Honestly if I could slap Annalise I would but I get why she did what she did but she went about it all wrong.

I loved how although all the books have a lot about sex in them, that each book has had a slightly different approach and this one was a bit more BDSM style which I loved. The whole choking thing was hot and a total turn on. I had a thought Brock would be into the rough and dirty and boy I wasn’t disappointed.

We saw a huge leap on the shadow pack front, we finally get their alpha and got an idea of what’s going on and I can’t wait for the ending, although I don’t know how we would get 2 more books out of it. I’m hoping that we see an end to that in Reid’s book and Chases book will be more of a stand alone book.

Astrid is such a joy! I loved her character development from Theo’s book. We knew she had some kind of power but it really grew in this book. Her character development was great, although Brock’s was a much bigger development. They are great for one another. I loved the whole sunshine/grumpy trope. I love the whole opposites attract and with shifters you usually see this trope but this was the extreme of this and I loved it.

I adored the ending of this book and I felt like we got closure in this couples lives, where I feel we might not see everyone else’s.

Can’t wait for Reid’s book then all the boys will be mated!

Wow just wow!!!!! ❤❤❤

I really loved Alpha Brock's story ❤ So far it's my favorite book from the Wolf Shifter Romance Six Pack Series!! 😍 I loved the chemistry and sexual tension between Brock & Astrid. I really like Astrid's character. She was so sweet and kind, but yet so strong and brave. She was a true warrior. IMO Astrid's the best female mate out of all of them.
❗Spoiler Alert ❗
There was only one small part that bothered me and maybe I felt that way because I was putting myself in her shoes and I could understand why she felt jealous. I don't want to spoil anything for the other readers, but I felt I needed to say it. I think it was very messed up of Fallon to go and hug Brock in front of Astrid. Then for him to call Fallon a Barbie beast. I mean did he actually think she was hot? I definitely hope not, because calling her a Barbie. I mean come on 🙁 I can imagine how poor Astrid felt, however I know Brock was truly in love with Astrid. Still if I were her I would have said something to Brock so he would know how she felt.
❗End of Spoiler ❗

Anyhow, it was just that small part that bothered me, but everything else was amazing!!!! ❤❤❤ I so highly recommend this series especially Alpha Brock's story!!

Brocks turn to find his mate

Brock had a huge chip on his shoulder. He was totally convinced he was going to pick Annalise as his chosen mate. At the last minute she chose her fated mate. Brock took this terribly. Always grumpy and in a perpetual state of a foul mood. Grey had been working with the Denver pack and keeping the six-pack up to speed with there IT programming on security. He wanted to align with the Alpha there, Cole. His sister, Astrid, had intuitions about the Shadow packs movements. They were coming for them. Grey and all the alphas were finally in agreement to bring all the mothers, children and elderly to the six-pack. They will be housed for a few weeks during the fight. The younger alphas will be going. That includes Grey, Brock, Theo, Reid and Jax.
Each Alpha will house a group of people from the Denver pack. Brock learned he will house Astrid.
Astrid was floored by the gorgeous Alphas. She knew staying within her pack was being sheltered, but wow!

Brock and Astrid had so many mountains to climb together. Brock with his grumpy self, Astrid with her cherry self. Astrid kept pushing for Brock to show more than his dark side.

Loved this book. You have the mean and moody Alpha Brock who has been hurt in the past and doesn't wants a mate and there's Astrid, the princess of the Denver pack, who is the complete opposite and is fun and bubbly who takes life as it comes.

Astrid is sent to Brocks pack to help settle in refugees that the Six Pack have agreed to host in preparation for the war against the Shadow Pack. There is instant chemistry between the two and Brock can't work out why. He only realises his true feelings when Astrid is kidnapped and he, the Six Pack and Alpha Cole set out to rescue her.

This book made me laugh with the humour between Brock and his brother and Beta as well as their fun and cheeky attitude with Astrid. There is also the fun teasing elements with the other Alphas and their mates. I still love Theo and Jax but this comes a close third. Well worth a read if you have read the other 3 books.

I've been reading C.J's book since the beginning of this serie. I've loved every single one of her book so far, but Brock's one hold a special place in my heart because of his trauma and how he overcomes it.

It's so raw and so relatable. I L-O-V-E how C.j manages to make us believe we are actually living her characters emotions! Plus, she managed to make every book unique so far even if it's in the same environnement/world! I can't wait for Reid's story and his hell weak as well! ;)

A 100% recommend it !

With lots of love,

Overwhelming

So much emotion in Brock and Astrids story, both good and bad. Brock has such a troubled past that he can't let go of. Astrid is an intuitive and feels there is something between them. She has such an upbeat and cheerful personality that you can't help but smile. This 4th story in the series moves the shadow pack part of the story to the forefront. There are some nail biting moments. Some disappointment and some very happy news. Totally give this wonderful story a 5/5 stars

Read through Goodnovel. Was handy to have 2 free chapters every day and I had unlocked majority of it prior to starting my read and I'm glad I did!
Alpha Brock hit a sweet spot for me. Who doesn't love that brooding bad boy type (without him actually doing anything bad), the total opposite. Hurt by his past relationship and all you want is to swoop in and save him. I like to think the years he spent holding himself back from opening himself up to another relationship, stewed his passion up so much to be such a hunk in the sack.
Lucky Astrid!

These books are all the same but the author somehow manages to still make them interesting. We know what we’re going to get - a growly alpha, a smart FMC, a bit of angst and fighting the pull, and then a happily ever after. This is not a complaint - it’s why I’m reading them! I enjoy knowing what to expect and having it delivered.

I really enjoyed the build up in this one and there was a bit more action in this one than the others.

Wow the alpha energy is hot! Brock embodies the classic alpha male—dominant, protective, and emotionally guarded. His leadership and strength make him magnetic, especially in the context of pack dynamics and paranormal romance. Brock’s refusal to believe in love and his self-imposed emotional exile can be frustrating. His walls are mile-thick, and his coldness risks alienating readers who prefer more emotionally available heroes.

Alpha Brock

This was actually a decent read. I read the first book in this series and was wondering if it got any better. I cheated and skipped to this one, so glad I did. This one changed my mind on a lot. Alpha Brock was one tough nut to crack. Astrid, in my opinion, had way more patience then I ever would. Loved how she knew who she was and didn't back down.

This was the first book I read and didn’t realise part of a set. Can totally be read stand alone and I loved it. Was then able to go and read the earlier books. Brock is one of my favourite chats tabs his growly stern personality hides a broken heart and feisty, kind Astrid is perfect for him although he fits this! Great book

Things started firing up in this book. We finally met the main protagonist. I liked Astrid more than Brock. Quinn and Jax are still my favorites. I enjoy that these books still continue with characters from previous books. Now for the Alpha I’ve been the most excited to read about Reid.

The book was AMAZING. EVERY SINGLE BOOK CJ makes in the 6-pack series is so amazing. Next is Alpha Reid’s book!! Which is the fifth book of the series. And I can’t wait. I’m so excited. Keep ‘em coming CJ. The publish date on this book I think is wrong, unless CJ is releasing a hard copy?

Just when you think you found your favorite Alpha of the six-pack, a new story comes along and dethrones the last one... Alpha Brock keeps you hooked from beginning to end. The chemistry between him and Astrid is super hot, even hotter than Quinn and Jax.
