This is my first return to Deadlands the Weird West since the 90s. (We have played Wasted West and Wasted West Reloaded in between.)

So the first thing that really stands out is that this campaign focuses on one large county (about a fourth of the state) and one town in particular.

The businesses and operators are numerous and well fleshed out. There are also over a dozen locations on the county map that have a bit of information and side quest (basically every marker on the map).

I'm impressed with the depth of the town and what is going on. I also like that it incentivizes the players and the Marshal to explore the map.

My only compliant is that the main questline is short, but that is remedied by having the players chase down side quests or their own interests. Plus with this well developed of a town and a decent GM you could do a lot more than is printed.

There are definitely HBO Deadwood vibes with Debeny and Heaston proxying for Al and Hearst. However, that makes it easier for me to keep it straight and that show rocked.

We start running the adventure in a week.
