Abdominal Snowman

Rate this book
Things aren’t always sunny in Florida, at least for Sage. When she gets burned one time too many, the palm trees stop calling to her like they used to. Lost without the passion for her photojournalism, Sage decides a change of scenery is just what the doctor ordered.
But the mountains of Berrysburg aren’t what they seem, and it won’t be long before Sage learns that the snowy town is more monstrous than mountainous.

Deep in the frosty trees, Soren thrives in his solitude. The snow, the peace, everything about his home is perfect. Until a tourist crashes their way into his forest and discovers his secret. Now Soren must learn if he can trust the newcomer with the sunkissed skin, or if he needs to pack his bags.
The last thing a monster needs is news coverage.

Now you just wait a minute with your judgement, Judy, because I’ve seen the shit you read.

Honestly there isn’t even much to say other than yea, I liked this. I’m a monster fucker/enjoyer atp, what can I say? As long as they have a mostly human face? Count me in.

There is enough story and plot to love this and remain interested, and not too many side characters to get distracted by background noise. The mmc is lovely honestly. He’s a sweet teddy bear and I wanna hug him. In his abominable form, of course.

4.5 ⭐️ & 3 🌶️, not much size but an extra chili thrown in there for smashing in fuzzy form because surely that counts 😁

Abdominal Snowman is an adorable holiday romance following Sage, a bright and clever journalist, and Soren, a sweet and shy abominable snowman shifter; who end up snowed in together at a small mountain cabin. This is such a sweet and cozy romance, I loved how attentive and kind Soren was, the man was an absolute cinnamon roll and completely smitten with Sage. It was so fun reading about the two of them falling for each other in this sweet and comfy, low angst, steamy, winter romance!

Soren is sexy AF and such a sweetie. He was insecure, lonely, and sad until Sage crashed, quite literally, into his life. Sage was facetious, curious, and fairly confident in herself. It was fun to live out the fantasy of quitting a job and telling your boss what you really think with her. The book had small town hallmark vibes with a few moments of true danger to spice it up.

Spice: 5/5

Triggers: car crash, hypothermia, involuntary nakedness (to save a life while they are hypothermic), avalanche, isolation, mention of parent death, mention of war-ish turmoil, misogyny in the workplace

Soren was pretty hot ngl. Idk what it is about gruffy yet sexy blushing monsters that do for me, but it works.

This was a fun, enjoyable read. Nothing too high stakes, slightly dumb plot but w/e, it was cute and a bit spicy.

This cover tho, lol so bad. The KU one was much cuter

Honestly, this was like reading a bad bad Hallmark movie (and I like Hallmark movies). It was way too over the top, and everything was forced.

Okay, but why did no one tell me how amazing this book is?? it's like my feelings just got a warm hug from a book and the cosiness is on the inside now. I want to squee and kick my legs and tell everyone and flail my arms with glee!

Sage is underappreciate at her job as a reporter, and she's more than ready to get away from the Florida heat. She books a vacation at small town mountain cabin in the snow after quitting, but on the way there she slides off the road and is stranded in the snow. She can't explain what happened, but she knows she needs to find shelter.

Soren has been living in the mountains outside the town of Berrysburg, hiding a secret from the inhabitants. It's a solitary life, but one that gives him freedom. When he sees a visitor spin out in the snow, he knows he's the only one for miles who can help her. But is he willing to risk his secret for the pretty human?

This book was nothing short of the perfect, cosy, winter romance read. Low angst, high sweetness, and full of spice. Sage and Soren have my whole heart! I was absolutely just sucked into their world and I did not want to leave. The way they get to know each other and learn to care for each other was just too good. And the romance and spice were just so delicious. Soren seriously knows how to care for a lady.

I could not have asked for a more perfect winter romance to cosy up with! This book is for anyone who wants a sweet and spicy, warm you from the inside, make you smile with joy read!

These two authors brought out an amazing story, I loved every single page of it, from start to finish. Both characters are amazing, as is the town that Soren lives close to. There are a few interesting twists and turns along the way that I didn't expect and I loved them.

Sage is sassy, adorable and as a reporter, she wants to find the answers to everything, and Soren, well what can I say the title Abdominal Snowman is definitely fitting. He's also sweet and even though at first he just wants to make sure that Sage doesn't tell anyone about him, his feelings for her grow.

I loved how magical the story felt, and there are definitely one or two characters that I'd love to see get their own books like Gabi and Brian, not sure if this is a thing but if the authors want to make it happen, I wouldn't say no.

Cabin in the woods gone spicy ✨❄️

This was a very cute read! Yes, the love developed pretty quickly, but it was overall still fun to read. I enjoyed that the story had outside plot from the romance.

My fav part was def the strip Jenga hahahah!!

I do feel like the part about his parents is still a bit unanswered. Does he ever respond back?
What is life like after knowing the town knows about him? How does this change his lifestyle? Does Gabi visit?

I do think an epilogue would’ve wrapped everything up nicely. Bc of the unanswered questions, I’m going to give this a 4.5 stars

Looking for a MMC that is a cozy grumpy, cinnamon roll? This is perfect. He's a shifter and she is a bit out of her element from sunshine and beaches to the snowy mountains of Vermont. I loved this short book, and will absolutely continue the series.

The most boring monster romance book to EVER exist. It put me to sleep many nights (which is almost impossible for me while reading fiction), and this short book took me ALMOST four months to read!!! Two stars because the writing style wasn’t bad, and the characters were sweet, but it was seriously a snooze-fest. Don’t let the cute cartoon cover fool you.

I loved this story, I couldnt get enough of the adorableness! I have been devouring one of these authors back catalog of funny/cute almost paranormal rom com and I saw this one on TT by her cowriter and thought to give it a shot. I loved the illustrated cover and the title made me giggle and I am so glad I did! I loved Soren and Sage so much 😍

I loved the banter between them, they gave it as good as they got from each other. Their chemistry was palpable and I enjoyed the burn/pace of this one. I enjoyed the touches of monster romance and thought the authors did a great job not going too overboard with it all. The ending made me swoon with the townspeople and Soren finding his place among them. I enjoyed Sage using her skills to defeat the slimy businessman who has terrorized people in many states and was going to ruin this cute small town. I was also suuuuper intrigued by the others in this town and Sage’s bff coming in to get away from her surprise change in her life. I can’t wait to see what other monsters or others are actually in this town too 😊

I am a sucker for cinnamon roll characters and Soren is the epitome of one. How unsure he was of himself, him fumbling with Sage (and she doing it too) cause my to full on belly laugh with some scenes, made my heart have butterflies, and make me jealous and wanting a Soren of my own ❤️. I mean his little figurines, her and her clothes, the coffee process haha, the hot chocolate. So many good scenes and I didnt even mention the amazing steam either! I liked how they grew together and got more confident as the book went on. OH and Soren’s powers?!?!?! So 🔥🔥🔥 with how the authors weaved that in!

Overall I adored this book and was so happy to read it and have it on my bookshelf. I have been reading these lighter books as I exercise and they make the time speed by, no lie. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. If you are looking for a lighter story, with some dorky moments, some hot steam, but also really vulnerable and cute moments, you will enjoy this book! Be prepared for the snark, the almost dad jokes, and some gimmicky things, but it adds to the story and world’s charm 🥰

CWs for:
- car crash and following events with FMC's serious head injury, disorientation and almost freezing to death
- work-based emotional abuse/bullying by the FMC's superviser, misogyny
- FMC's derisive internal monologue aimed at herself
- low on consent

So it goes like this. Firstly, you have the FML experiencing a serious, traumatic vehicle accident on the road, caused by the MML. The accident is described in graphic detail and was quite difficult to witness.
Secondly, the two main characters are forced together in the same location, as they are snowed in the same cabin which belongs to the MML. The female character is found asleep by the MML because of course she would be.
Thirdly, this is being followed by the FML's enforced nudity by the MML in order to save her life.

And that's the whole basis of the romance: trauma, entrapment, forced nudity due to medical emergeny. Oh and his light blue eyes. The fact that serious medical situation is utilised as a plot device to make the FML appear naked and entrapped in the MML's home is cringeworthy. Yuck. Such rapey undertones.

I found this plot to be of poor taste. Dnfed after she woke up naked with a stranger in the room, ew.

This is such a sweet book filled with love and holiday spirit! I give it ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️!

Sage is at her wits end with her job as a photojournalist. After being burned too many times she quits her job. Her friend urges her to take a trip up north to stay at a cabin over the holidays… reset herself and take in some snow.

While driving up the mountain she almost hits a creature and ends up crashing her car. She wanders up the mountain until she stumbles across a cabin and helps herself inside to stay warm.

The creature she almost hit? That’d be Soren. He’s an abominable snowman with the ability to cloak himself as a human. That cabin she’s now resting in? Yeah that’s his.

These two are now stuck together. What do you get when a photojournalist and a monster trying to hide a secret have to share one bed while there’s a blizzard? Angst with a touch of deceiving. Followed by acceptance, magic, love, and a happily ever after.

There’s so much going on in this story! You have the obvious love story brewing between Sage and Soren, but there’s also drama in the town that they have to deal with!

I absolutely adored these characters! Sage is so sassy and passionate about her work. But she has integrity and knows that Soren isn’t a new story. Soren is a giant teddy bear. He’s also deliciously hunky (hence the name abdominal snowman). I loved how their interactions over the course of the book softened up and they fell into domestic bliss. Plus the spice between them so hot and “frosty”… ❄️🌶️😮‍💨🍆

This was adorable in the best way.

The story follows Sage, a photo journalist down on her luck and frustrated with her boss to the point of quitting. When her friend offers her a vacation voucher for a SnowBnB in the mountains, she jumps at the opportunity to get away for a while.
Soren is an Abominable shifter who isolates himself in the mountains surrounding a tiny, small town in order to protect his secret, but when Sage crashes her rental on the way to the SnowBnB after finding him in the road, he runs to shift back in order to help her, finding her curled up on his couch half freezing to death instead.
With the storm raging outside, Soren and Sage are stuck together, and he's terrified of trusting her with the secret she's found out.

I liked seeing the banter and playfulness between Soren and Sage, they just worked together and it was adorable. I also enjoyed that Sage was level headed when it came to Soren's secret. It was just a good, cozy, spicy monster romance and I enjoyed it a ton.

This title is simply A+ and this book was much sweeter than I was anticipating! There is very minimal conflict and angst between the MCs, and it’s resolved fairly quickly. While there is a snowy mountain setting, it’s technically NOT Christmas. The story centers on white-haired blue eyed hottie abominable shifter Soren who has hidden away in his mountain cabin trying to protect himself from the outside world. And reporter Sage needing a reset after quitting a toxic job in Florida. I loved her confidence and sense of humor. Though short, the authors really create great chemistry between these two, both sexual and romantic. Their banter is adorable and fun. Sage breaks downs Soren’s walls, and he supports her in such a charming way. I also enjoyed that the town and its citizens played a role in the story - it added to the cozy vibes. The monster part of it was fairly tame - no weird peens, knots, bites, etc. - so a great one for anyone wanting to dip a toe into monster/shifter romance!

A perfect snowy vibes read, I loved Sage and Soren and the wintery vibes and a snowed-in cabin. The book came perfectly full circle for me, all the little details came together to make the best happy ever after for Sage and Soren and many new possibilities for the town of Berrysburg.

Tag me in for the primal play in the snowy mountains anytime, thank you very much! Lana and Zoe did an amazing job with the heat in this book - I love temperature play 🥵

I am hoping to see a story with Gabi and maybe figure out if Brian or Jane has something else going on…are there some other people with secrets in Berrysburg? 👀

Vibes
- Fine

It's a me problem.
It was giving smutty, monster romance, Hallmark vibes, which should be an easy win for me but something about it just didn't grab me. While Soren was a cinnamon roll with a bit of a dirty mouth (my favourite kind) Sage was kind of bland. I would liked to have seen more of her friendship with Gabi and Soren's I am fairly certain I'm the problem though. I read this on a day I was in a bad mood so maybe if I re-read it and like it a lot more.

Another excellent monsterf***er book. I mean... Another excellent shifter romance! 😍 🥰 😘😇😅 😂
I'll behave...probably.

There was a bit of a mystery in this story, I liked wondering about that. There was an external pressure source that they had to combine forces to defeat, I liked that as well. Then there is the sassy best friend that rides to the rescue (and hopefully is in the next book???). She was a great sounding board for the MC. Then there was the spice. My oh my....there was some good spice in this book. I liked the snowbeast, for sure!

Oh you guys!!! This book!! I'm a huge fan of Lana and this one was no different! It was so adorable and sweet! Only the tiniest bit of angst to keep you on your toes but once you finish you'll be so sad! I didn't want it to end!!

I absolutely love Soren and Sage. Soren isn't my usual type (growly alpha hole) but oh he is absolutely perfect! And Sage is a great match for him! She is way more patient than I'd ever be, but that's probably why I'm not a reporter.

This book has just the right amount of steam, mature... Situations, and cuteness!!

This book made for an addictive and magical read. I loved every second of Soren and Sages time together.

The author duo did an amazing job balancing this monster romance with mystery, steam, and adorable undertones.

The character development was spot on for Soren and Sage. You get so much depth from both of them, but especially Soren. It really melts your heart, which is ironic..cause he’s a snowman.

If you are feeling up to an adorable, steamy, and well written monster romance this is a book for you. You won’t be disappointed with this read.

Coziest of Cozies

Sage and Soren’s book was exactly what I needed to make me feel cozy in the middle of some lovely seasonal depression! I love a deep angsty book like the best of us, but I really needed something that filled me with less anxiety and dread. Lana and Zoe delivered with more fluffiness and enough spice to keep you warm on the coldest snow day! I’ve heard this book described as a spicy Hallmark vibe and that’s completely accurate! Seriously though, someone send this to producers and get me this in movie format!

It was cute.

A bit forgettable IMO.
It was cute and romantic with lots of smutt and a little but of monster smutt.
Overall it didn't really feel like there was much of a story besides the "I accidentally met an abominable snowman and fell in love with him and we had lots of... seggs. I'm happy because he's sweet and hung " that's about the whole book.
Not bad for a sweet, cute, smutty book if that's what you're looking for. It simply didn't capture my interest. Took me about 4 month to pick it back up.

Super cute, funny, light read

This book gives you all of the adorable feels! Sage is a reporter and full of curiosity but she's also sweet and kind. Soren is the cutest, sweetest Abonimable ever. Their nicknames for each other brought a goofy smile to my face and honestly this was just a great lighthearted read that I didn't know I needed. If you like fun monster romance where the monster is just cute and protective then this is for you.

It's getting Frosty

This book is a mix between the abominable snowman/monster romance + a Hallmark movie.

Sage and Soren meet during a accident on a snow covered mountain....it kinda snowballs from there 😂 This book is on the lighter side of the monster romance spectrum. Soren was super cute but loved that he also had different sides to him. I always like to see when they can joke together.

This was a slower read for me but really enjoyed the characters.

This was such a lighthearted fun read that features the cold but definitely brings the heat!

Fed up with her boss, Sage quits her journalist job in Florida & takes a vacation at the urging of her BFF to the snowy little town of Berrysburg. While heading toward her rental house she encounters a creature in the road & crashes her car, just barely making it into a nearby cabin Goldilocks style.

Imagine her surprise when the homeowner turns out to be the creature - an abdominal snowman - who shifts into a very hot human man named Soren.

This is currently just a standalone but some of the side characters that are introduced I think would be GREAT paired up in their own book!

Steamy Monster Smut meets Rom Com

Literally loved this book. I enjoyed it to it’s fullest. There were some things that never discussed again, that would have tied up the final ends to this story. But I hope this just means another book by these two! Def sign me up for it because I loved this completely.

You get all the fun of a ROM Com, small town romance fitted into a monster smut with primal 💦. Yep it’s great!
