Back To Honor: A Reggie Reynolds Romantic Mystery

Rate this book
Reggie Reynolds, a political reporter in Baltimore, returns to her hometown of Honor, Alabama when her beloved baby brother is found brutally murdered. Not only is she returning to confront this horrible news, but she is also returning to the ghosts of her past, where she was once a local reporter whose refusal to bury a story on judicial corruption caused her father, an eminent but flawed judge, to commit suicide. Reggie’s brother, not to mention most of her hometown, turned passionately against her, believing that her decision to print the story was not because of some highfalutin sense of honor, but because of her own twisted ambition.

It is also an election year in Honor and the man in charge of the investigation, Police Chief Phillip Robb, a man Reggie loves despite their tumultuous relationship, is fighting desperately to hold onto his job and his position of power. Reggie’s love for him will be tested time and time again when she discovers that not only are the locals doing all they can to paint her brother’s murder as some drug deal gone wrong, and therefore of little consequence, but that Robb himself seems to be leading the cover-up. What she doesn’t understand is why.

Back to Honor: A Reggie Reynolds Romantic Mystery is an updated and expanded version of an earlier work.

I thoroughly enjoyed this IR Mystery. The characters were well developed and the plotline and mystery was a good one. I couldn't give the book 5 stars because of typos, Reggie's constant emotional instability and confusion, and the book's ending. Though I believe the book is the first in a series, the ending didn't really wrap everything up as it should have. I hope another installment is being written so I can purchase it! Both Robb and Reggie were believable rough, stubborn and gritty characters. And the town of Honor was described very well to give the reader a glimpse into small-town, southern corruption. Good book!

An Interracial Romantic Thriller

Back to Honor: A Reggie Reynolds Romantic Mystery is a very good interracial romantic novel that earned a five star rating. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this romantic mystery. It kept me guessing and on edge of suspense all the way to the end. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery.
