The door has been opened, but it is only the beginning.
The army of Larkesh saw the Light of Solaris and is coming to take it for themselves. Kaison must not only protect the door but also protect his kingdom, his queen, and ensure his own survival. As the truth continues to unravel, he doesn't know who is his enemy and who is his friend.
In Larkesh, Osiris is awaiting her execution in the Vynx tournament. However, one Captain offers her a deal for her survival – kill the designated protector. When Osiris’ best friend is captured by the enemy, she is forced to play all sides to ensure his freedom and achieve her ultimate goal – create a new kingdom where her people are safe. But that leaves her with an unbearable choice dividing not only her mind but her heart – does she side with Kaison or the Shadow of Eclipse?
Thank you so much to the Abrom sisters for sending me a copy of this book! All opinions are my own!
Where do I start with how much I loved this book?? You could definitely see how much the Abrom sisters have grown in their writing since the first book, and you can see all the time and planning they've put into this series! I loved seeing the little things that came back up from the first book and realizing that I was either right or wrong about my predictions but that they had laid a careful plan with their plot!
I really love these characters because they're so easy to relate to. Each one of them has that main character flaw, but they are all so real that it makes them so hard to not root for. And the way they've navigated their romances while focusing on the danger is both hilarious and heartwarming.
I think my favorite thing about this series is how unique it is! The worldbuilding is amazing, and I cannot wait to see more of it and see what happens in the finale! It is so interesting to read about, and I have enjoyed every page of it! (and now I desperately need the next book after that ending!!!)
If you are a fantasy lover, definitely check this series out! You won't want to miss the upcoming finale!
So many feelings and not enough eloquence to convey how much I enjoyed this book!
I was provided an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Stunning continuation of Designated Protector and delivers on its promise to enthral me.
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the subplots from book one further explored in this book, new ones introduced and the point when they start to converge with each other, all while maintaining a clear overall story arc.
It has been so well done and if you love seeing villian arcs then you'll love both books just for this subplot. If I don't get my hands on book 3 the day it's out, that will be my villian origin story!
This book started off a little slow with lots of details, however it got really good about 30% in. The ending was unexpected and exciting but left me with so many questions that I’m excited to have answered in the third and final book. If you enjoyed book 1 you’ll definitely enjoy this sequel. I still loved Kaison in this book and Osiris has quickly become a new favorite as well.
Hope and Amanda have done it again! Their sophomore novel, Parallel Voyagers knocked it out of the park!
This has everything the book community loves: it’s high fantasy, has a unique magic system, consists of one of my favorite found families, AND IT EVEN HAS A MAP! What more could you need?
If that’s not enough to sell you, the second book in the Designated Protector series is filled with tension, high stakes, drama, battle, hope, utter devastation and mystery. This book had me laughing, crying, feeling sad, feeling hopeful, and even gasping and clutching my pearls for the last three chapters.
The Abrom sisters are not allowed to end the book this way and I need a book three like yesterday. You will too if you give it a chance!
The great news is that Parallel Voyagers is OUT TODAY! So go get the first one and then pick up your copy of this one and anxiously await the third with me!
