May, 1182. Paris. Ten days before the consecration of Notre Dame cathedral, a mutilated corpse is discovered in its crypt. Facing the second such murder in as many days, Sergeants Miquel Pedret and Bernard Voiderue must track down the killer. Nothing, however, is at all what it seems. Soon the men find themselves confronting a conspiracy rooted deep in the past and armed with a weapon that will change history.
