I so love this Paranormal Vampire Romance Series.....COLONY member Daniel Brighton, whose role is to protect the president as a vampire bodyguard. He's forced to retire due to a very public display of heroism by taking a fatal head shot to save the president. Though not very happy with the idea, Daniel takes it in stride. He agrees to take a year off and return later with a new identity. To help pass the time Daniel is offered a role as a bodyguard to a young star preparing to do a European tour and her father fears for her safety. When shown a photo of the girl, Daniel is taken by surprise when he sees a strong resemblance to the woman that has plagued his dreams for some time now.

Lori Austin, a struggling singer/actress has hit a dead end in her career and has high hoped for her upcoming European tour. Lori's health is failing and she believes she is dying, but ignores all the signs. When in fact her condition is something you will never believe and Daniel is the key to saving her life.

This book really had me mesmerized with fascination. It's amazing to me how these vampires differ from so many other authors fanged immortals. Regina Morris really did a wonderful job with this book further entrenched me into the world of the COLONY vampires. This series just keeps getting better and better!!

Another amazing addition to this series and if you haven't yet I highly recomend reading this series from the start!

Daniel, our old man vampire who has been living his first life is about to face some changes after saving the president comes at the price of his first life coming to an end. Now he has to start over as a younger man and he is forced to take some time off. What he does instead is a favor for a friend as a bodyguard, but meeting the feisty and confusing Lori could change things even more for him than he ever thought.

Lori has it rough. Her career has been stagnant, but a change for a tour just might put things right for her. A bodyguard wasn't expected but meeting Daniel changes everything for her. She is sassy and shy at the same time and while she keeps things close to the vest she knows when she can trust someone.

Daniel is a sweetie and we see more of his story now as well as why he plays things close to the vest. He protects those he cares for with everything he's got and would do anything for them.

These two have an easy yet rough start and that is their theme throughout. I loved seeing how Daniel worked through problems and how Lori learned to trust in him. The story was interesting and kept me glued to the pages and I literally read it in one sitting not able whatsoever to put the book down!

Our Review by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:

My favorite of the series thus far. A totally different feel, but with the same things that make Regina's COLONY series so unique and captivating, some pretty serious drama, plenty of light-hearted moments, and a great HEA.

When Daniel is hurt and has to take time off from the COLONY, he accepts a job as a bodyguard for a spoiled actress as a favor to a friend. When he finally sees Lorelei and realizes that she's the woman who has been haunting his dreams, he knows there's more to it and he's compelled to find out what it is.

Lori is immediately drawn to Daniel, as well, but she's more concerned with her public image. Her false pre-tense for the sake of her 'adoring fans' leads to lots of misunderstandings between her and Daniel. When Lori begins to sicken suddenly, the intrigue ramps up as secrets are revealed and Daniel and Lori's draw is explained.

Fun and flirty, Reliant Service is another fab read by Ms. Morris.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!! Daniel very publically saves the life of the president and then has to change his look and name, having to portray his death as a hero. He's given time off, so takes a job as bodyguard to a young starlet, who also happens to be the love of his dreams. Action, mystery, suspense, romance. This book has it all. Brava Ms. Morris!!!! Great book! Great series!

Daniel Brighton has a problem. In doing his job in guarding the President of the United States, he throws himself in front of the man as an assassin tries to kill him, taking the bullet. He was thrown into the presidential limo and, to all but his family in the Colony, he died.

But Daniel is a vampire. To die so publicly, he had to retire his alias, the one he took when he was first turned. And he had to get out of the public eye so there wouldn’t be questions about how he is walking around dead.

So, after he heals up, another Colony member, Dixon, asks him to take an assignment that would keep him from spending his time bored to death, a fate worse than death itself. Daniel is going to be acting as a security guard for a friend of a friend of the family who may be in danger. Turns out, he’s guarding pop star, Lori Austin.

Lori, or Lorelei Austyn is a mess. No longer doing her teen television show, Twin Spin, she turned to singing. She’s traveling around Europe with a music tour group. Everywhere she goes, the tabloids eat up her relationship with big-name singer, Ryder Dennisen and the fights she has with her former costar in the TV show, Stephanie.

And she is certain she does not need a body guard, especially one so handsome and older. She liked older.

Lorie is trying to balance the travel, the scandals, and everything else, she is also sick, her stomach bothering her to the point that Daniel suspects she’s bulimic. But the truth of what is wrong with her goes way beyond bulimia, and will complicate more than just her relationship with Ryder and Stephanie and make Daniel ask many questions that he won’t like the answers.

Reliant Service is book 4 of the Colony series and once again, Regina Morris has nailed it. I loved this book. The characters of Daniel and Lori are believable and I got caught up in the wild aspects of the tour while wondering just what was wrong with Lori. I disliked Lorelei about as much as Daniel did and I wondered if this couple would make it, especially with the May/December feel of their ages. But I shouldn’t have worried, Regina handled all of it with a lot of interesting twists and turns.

While Reliant Service is the latest book in the Colony series, this book, like all the others, was not dependent on reading the others first (although you will really like them if you like this one).

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I am a SUCKA for a good paranormal series. I fell in love with these vampires when I started with Raymond in book 1 and my love didn't stop with this book. I have to say I am really conflicted as to which Colony member I love more...Sterling or Daniel. Daniel has been the quiet one all along with such a serious weight that I was very excited to finally get his book and HEA.
Daniel has to stop guarding the president due to an accident on the job. So he is given a year off to kinda figure out what to do and all that jazz. Well he is not one to sit idle so he accepts a job as a "body guard" for a wanna be actress/singer. From the very first time Daniel sees Lori's picture he needs to go. Why does he feel needed? Well he has been dreaming of her for months!!! ANNND these dreams are pretty heated *Wink*
Lori really thinks she will be dying soon. She is sure that her tarrot card readings are telling her the future. She will die after being lied to by someone important in her life. When Daniel knocks on her door she is DRAWN to him. The two begin a relationship in Daniels mind. Lori however, is more concerned with how people will view her in public. There are a lot of miscommunications and hurt feelings. I kinda felt that this part of the story was a bit slow moving in pace.
Once Lori and Daniel talk out while driving to her next tour spot things seem to be getting better. Now, Lori's sickness is really worrying Daniel. When he finds out the reason for her sickness, Mr. Vampire gets alllll kindsa claimy on his woman. About this time in the book, I found I was flying through. They are trying to save Lori, finding out about her biological father and how she is connected to the Colony members!!! It was a great read once the two seemed to get on the same page as to what they mean to each other and heal her "sickness".

Daniel has been proudly protecting the Presidents of the United States for decades. While he can make his appearance younger he chose to let himself age. On this fateful day he takes a bullet for the President in a very public manner. When he awakens he has a choice to make; let people believe he dies a hero or make a miraculous recovery to only then have to fake his death in a few years. The choice is made instantly when a friend asks him to look after a starlet on her European tour and the woman in the photo just so happens to be the one he has been dreaming about for the last six months. Lori is tired and down on her luck. This European tour is her last chance to rekindle her Hollywood career. She just hopes she can survive it. She has been feeling ill and weak for months. When Daniel shows up on her doorstep the attraction is instantaneous. Not one to fall into a mans bed so quickly she is surprised and intrigued. Lori allows herself to become closer to Daniel and starts to gain feelings for him. Daniel becomes possessive of Lori and also worried for her. She seems to be getting worse rather than better. When it dawns on him that she is a half breed and could die during her transition he will do anything in his power to save her. How will he convince her that vampires are real? Can he help her accept her fate and save her? Or is it already too late? IF they manage to keep her alive will she still want to be with him or leave him because he wasn’t honest with her from the start?

This is the first book in the Colony Series by Regina Morris that I have read and even though I read it out of order I didn't feel left out or like I was missing anything at all! I am a huge paranormal fan and I loved this book now I need to go back and read all of the others!

This story is about Daniel Brighton who is a Vampire Colony Agent that is injured protecting the President of the United States. Since the existence of vampires are not known his death has to be faked and he has to take some time off of work. He decides to take a job protecting a pop star for the next year working as her bodyguard but little does he know Lori Austin is going to be a challenge in more ways than one. This story is so incredible because it is so off the beaten path its not what you would normally see in paranormal and thats what I love the author gives you these amazing twists and turns and just when you think you have it figured out she seriously throws a curveball at you. Daniel and Lori have this amazingly magnetic chemistry that just draws you in and the scenes with the two of them are so explicitly erotic that you will be blushing and sweating just from reading it. The entire book is just sinfully delicious and will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Congratulations Regina Morris this book was fantastic! If you have not downloaded it or added it to your TBR list yet do not wait any longer you do not want to miss it!

I give this 4 1/2 vampire stars.

I was unsure of how a vampire would be able to work with the president but as I started reading the story I understood that it was not about protecting the President as so much as protecting someone else.

Daniel Brighton was turned a vampire when a misunderstanding took place one night with his sister. But from that night on he never regretted what had happened. As it would turn out the vampire who turned him became one of he close friends and he became part of his team to protect the President. The day that Daniel had to make a decision he didn't want to because of his action in saving the President he denied wanting to make the choice. When he was given another offer as a way to pass time he took it. What he didn't know was what would happen?

Lori was trying to save her singing career. She took a tour with a group of bands touring Europe. Her father hired a bodyguard for her. She was reluctant at first but soon accepted him. But what neither really knew or understood was how they were able to see each others dreams. Daniel knew he had the ability to dreamwalk. He just couldn't understand how Lori could also. Also the tour started and things start to come to together like a puzzle being pieced together answers were finally found. But would Daniel reveal who he was to Lori? Would Lori learn the answers she was seeking?

I would recommend this to romance readers of all kind. Whether you like vampires or not this is a good read.

Regina Morris has created a world in which vampires can live in sunlight, adjust the appearance of age by consuming less or more blood (less blood aging them, more blood making them look younger) and can easily pass as humans. In this world, vampires are able to mate with other vampires to have offspring that are pure vampires; male vampires are also able to have young with human women, creating half-breeds that are frowned upon and who usually do not survive the pregnancy; is they do, then the point in their 20s when the human body converts to a vampire is usually fatal. Daniel is a vampire who serves as a bodyguard for the President of the U.S. During an assassination attempt, Daniel needs to fake his death after he is seen taking a fatal bullet to protect the President. Now he has to "disappear" for awhile and begin a new life with a new identity before he can return to protecting Presidents. As a favor, he takes a job acting as a security guard for Lori, a fading pop star who is touring Europe. Lori and Daniel feel an immediate attraction and thus begins their journey. This is a sweet love story with some twists and turns, and some fun seeing how the 67 year old Daniel has trouble adjusting to the lifestyle of a 28 year old Hollywood celebrity.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC but that does not colour my review in any way.
★★★★★
This is from the Colony series, but reads nicely as a stand alone. In this author's "world " the president of the USA is protected by an elite group of vampires.
Daniel has been on the protection squad for decades, serving several presidents. It is his duty to put himself in the path of any bullets, and that is what has just happened. That causes a major problem by putting his face all over the world's press. As the majority of the human race don't know about vampires, Daniel needs to vanish.
Lori is a failing Hollywood starlet. She has a last ditch chance with a tour of Europe with some old friends. Her father has decided she needs a bodyguard. She has been very ill for a while ,and her looks and finances have suffered for it.. When Daniel meets his new charge things don't go quite as he expected.
An exciting romantic suspense, that will keep the pages flying past. Lots of hot sex scenes and emotional moments. I read this in one day. Now I have to go and get the other books in the series.

This was an amazing book. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. But once it started unfolding I was hooked and couldn't put it down. A great wonderful plot with great twists around every corner.
I just love Daniel's character. He has an old world charm to him. Ancient, wise, sweet , kind, adorable and sexy as hell.
Lori's character at first seems young, annoying and way too into herself and the social media thing. But once you realize that is just one side of her, you really grow to love her character that is so sweet natured.
The love that Daniel and Lori form together after many trials is unbreakable. He would do anything for her and she takes every moment with him as precious.
The twists and turns throughout this story are crazy. What Lori goes through and learns about herself and her family in the process is amazing.

This is a WONDERFUL addition to the Colony Series. The author yet again has outdone herself. She has a unique gift for dialog and character development. I truly felt that I knew the main characters. The romance between them is believable and done extremely well. It's not your typical "Body Guard" story. This one had attraction and chemistry. There is one dream sequence that you will want to read as it is amazing and hot. I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I read it in one sitting and could not put it down till I finished it.

Precious love

Daniel has to take a break from service and takes a job in Europe. What he encounters leaves him at a loss. He has to protect Lori and yet he wants to love her too. She is too precious for him to lose.
