The secrets and lies are piling up, and I'm running out of people I can trust.
I'm mated to four guys that barely tolerate each other, I was cursed by someone that might know my secret, and my powers are just as unpredictable as ever.
And the best part? None of those is my biggest problem because the high council just arrived at Drexel Academy.
How am I supposed to stay calm and act normal when the people responsible for my birth parents' death are now patrolling campus and rewarding students who snitch on their peers?
It's more important than ever for me and the guys to unite and protect each other, but fate seems determined to drive us apart.

So we still don’t know who cursed her. The bonds have all strengthened even though it was hard, but the can talk telepathically now if they are touching, so that’s cool. She officially shifted into a wolf. The council and guards were monitoring the school and classes. They also started to collect blood samples for people over 18. They were putting suppressants in the food to make people easier to manipulate. They got a list of intersperses couples and hybrids and their names were on it. The council found out about the bond and we’re planning on taking them to the headquarters in Scotland. Robert her real grandfather came and told her the truth about trying to protect her and is trying to help. As they are about to board her other grandfather, the wolf shifter came to get her and her bone group because they take precedent over the council.

SYNOPSIS (of 6 Book Series): This story is set in the modern world but where humans do not know that supernaturals exist. The FC, Saige, discovers that she is a witch/shifter hybrid whose birth parents were killed when she was young and she was brought up by the human best friends. The world is governed by a Council who are anti hybrids. 17 years ago many hybrids and mixed couples were killed and that is starting up again. The FC is sent to Drexel Academy to learn to control her powers but must hide that she is a hybrid. There she meets her 4 bond mates. The story covers the development of their relationship and the rising danger of the Council seeking to kill/control supernaturals that are different or in mixed relationships. There's a HEA
Heat Level: 🌶️🥶/🍆 This is very slow burn. The FC only just kisses 2 of the 4 MCs by 75% into Book 3. No real sex happens until Book 6 although there is a bit of fooling around in Book 4. It’s as if the FC is 12 and was raised in a convent with her apparent lack of understanding of sex 🫣 The sex scenes are often one way with the MCs doing things to the FC but without her reciprocating or initiating and it is cringeworthy when they have to talk her through exactly what to do. It all feels too juvenile. Chemistry between the FC and MCs is not high. There’s a bit more with Niall but it’s not exactly steamy and the writing felt clunky not hot.
As a summary this series is too long, has a ridiculous amount of typos and editing issues, is limited in any excitement or drama, with a whiny complaining FC that really gets on your nerves and, after plowing through 6 Books, the ending is a massive let down 😡. Outside of the torture descriptions I think this series is aimed at a young audience.
As for the sex scenes, the FC makes a big issue of not being ready to bond with the MCs and not wanting to jump into sex then gets bent out of shape when none of her Bonds make a pass at her after the bonding 🙄 There’s even a whole scene where Hannah has a go at the MCs for NOT hooking up with the FC which is childish and unfair. The chemistry is weak and I never really felt any deep connection between the FC and any of the MCs. As with other books of this kind it was hard to see what the MCs saw in the FC outside of the enforced bond. The MCs themselves didn't really seem to get along and the whole Bond felt fragmented and never really seemed to come together as a cohesive group.
By Book 3 we’ve had 1 short lived dramatic/exciting scene. There is a cliffhanger of sorts at the end of Books 4 & 5 but they are low level. The last half of Book 3 & first half of Book 4 are like Groundhog Day. They’re full of the FC whining about being alone and no one focusing on the bond and about how the group is fragmented. Noone really seems to be bothered about being a unit. It’s interspersed by some cringy descriptions of the FC being introduced to sex (but not full sex). I almost gave up at the end of Book 3 and wish I had. As these were KU I decided to skim and see if things picked up much. They didn't really. There's a bit of excitement at the end of Book 5 but the story just drags interminably and the characters become progressively more annoying. Book 6 is taken up with a ridiculous merry-go-round of the FC wanting to storm in and attack the Council's stronghold and the resistance doing nothing.
The whole story is superficial. You never really get to know the villains as they are mostly just an amorphous Council. There is a brief introduction of an evil council member in Book 4 and then nothing until Book 6 which goes overboard with showing how evil the Council are.
Ultimately Book 6 did not really make sense to me. The resistance seemed to do nothing to fight back and even invited one of the Council to their uber secret hideout. By the time the climax came I really did not see the point of the FC and her Bonds. With the training that they did I expected them to do something to save people and take down the Council. It turns out that they were completely redundant and actually just got themselves into trouble. ***SPOILER***The author appears to try to create real drama by having the FC & her Bonds walk into an obvious trap where, despite all their training and strength they are easily captured and then the Book goes into detail about how each is then tortured horribly. There is a big scene where we can see how evil the Council Members are (its all very Mwah-ha-ha and OTT) when they come to look at their handywork. The Council is then taken down by an attack by the shifter pack and some of the resistance although it is unclear who exactly it was and how they took down the stronghold which appeared to not be very strong. Neither the FC nor her Bonds help to take down the stronghold and in fact have to be rescued. There was no reference to the FC being betrayed or to what happened to the evil doctors undertaking the experiments or why the resistance was so ineffectual. As I mention above, you only get a brief reference to the fact that the Council Members are put on trial and executed a while after the fact. Its ridiculously anti climactic despite there being a long epilogue which, to me, again made no sense as it tells us how the FC and her Bonds go to Alaska and build cabins. Really? What's that about??
I realized something while reading the beginning of this book. Niall's brothers / cousins are missing, so his aunt and an investigator are looking for them while Niall does whatever he can from school. I realized that no one has tried a locator spell yet, though. There could be a block on their location, but I don't think it was ever brought up. Would that not have been something someone tried fairly early on? Of course, it could be assumed that they did it, but I'm still surprised it wasn't mentioned.
MINOR SPOILER: The guys and Saige finally had the talk about their past "experiences." Kaden felt guilty that he had been physically intimate with someone before, but Saige assured him it was okay. Frankly, I wouldn't have been that chill. Even he admitted that he knew who Saige was to him and that they were bonded, but he did it anyway. That's borderline cheating, in my mind. I've always been a bit more old-fashioned in my mind set, though. That you should wait for someone special that you see yourself being with for a long time. I was disappointed about a couple of the other guys' responses, but sadly, as seventeen year old guys, I'm not surprised. Kade had reason to wait, though, so I was a bit miffed about that!
ANYWAY, those critiques aside, I loved the ending of the book! I love that Saige got some answers from a somewhat unexpected character (though I did suspect a little bit ago that things weren't as they seemed), but the ending was excellent!
I really should be getting sleep, but I can't stop reading!
Imo this author has tends to take a good idea and then run it straight into a wall midway through a series. Stopping the storyline for moping internal monologue and minimal character development or story progress. Nothing happens for a majority of the book.
This was painfully awkward to read. And she is unbelievably naive. She actually believed a kiss automatically lead to inter course??? If she’s that naive she shouldn’t be messing around 🙄 It’s also super belittling that the men have to explain that to her like she is a complete idiot - I mean, she is but 🙄
Personally, I don’t love when there are sex scenes when the characters aren’t all over 18. The characters could have been college age (there are college students on this campus anyways) or the bond didn’t need to be grown primarily from physical contact. It made things feel forced and awkward.
These guys went from interesting the first few books to jealous and judgmental. Especially within the group. Feels like a regression. They treat her like an afterthought and then she desperately clings to the breadcrumbs of attention they give her. They constantly screw up and put her to the side only to apologize and she eats it up forgiving them in seconds. After weeks and weeks of pain? Get some self worth.
I have a completionist mentality so I’ll probably finish the series but omg I pray the last are better 🙈
Things are starting to heat up for Saige and her bond. After what felt like forever, the bond has finally been solidified with Saige and the others, and I liked that it took a personal connection to each to solidify instead of just intercourse. However, it felt like this whole thing would have been cleared up much faster if they had just communicated with each other. Like I get they're teenagers, but dang just open your mouth once in awhile.
Meanwhile, in the rest of the supernatural community people are going missing faster while the council continues to downplay the issue. Students on campus are starting to feel more comfortable with being against inter-species mixing (very apt for our current political climate). Towards the end, the bond is outed, and it looks like they will be taken to the council when a fun turn of events happens instead. I look forward to seeing what happens next, but I wish we had a little more connection with the bond. It still feels very high-level that lacks depth. Also, editing is still an issue throughout the book with incorrect phrases or words and misspellings.

This is not a reverse harem. It’s a nightmare. Four boyfriends and NONE of them make her a priority? All of them are actively absent and distant? Wake me or kill me, just get me out of here.
And when they individually acknowledge that they’re doing a bad job, she drops the valid reaction of depression and resentment to reply, “Thanks for saying so! Here’s my boobs!”
Girl, stand up! Go to the woods! Be one with your magic! Strike terror in their hearts! Master your powers to the level that they’d be remiss to even turn their back on you!
She can’t even read tea leaves, man.
It’s rough and frustrating but we might be getting somewhere interesting in the next book. I can only hope.
Honestly.. the first five or so chapters and the last two were the only interesting parts if this whole book.
There were like FIFTEEN chapters of endless and repetitive lamenting. NOTHING new was discovered, discussed or happened during the bulk of this book and I almost gave up reading it. I'm excited to read the conclusion when it is finally published. I dont recommend this book because it was dull but it's needed to read this series.. so...
I love this book! Watching Saige and the boys all seal their bond and Saige learn about her shifter side. The mouthwash part (I don't want to spoil anything) may have been my favorite part of the book. I literally laughed out loud. This book kept me interested and entertained the entire time. I'm now hooked on this series and have to move to the next! This did end with a cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what happens next! This is a nice easy series to read and easy to get lost in! Read it!
Characters are great. The story line has finally started to progress. I’m just really disappointed with the romance aspect of the story. The books are too short for a series, IMO, and it’s weird to jump right where we left off for the next book. Will finish the series but I hope it gets a little steamier.
Every book in this series gets better and better. The characters continue to evolve and mysteries abound. The plot twists and turns. A very exciting fun series. Can't wait for the next book to come out!
I love this series! It gets better with each book. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say this is my favorite book yet. I can't wait to read the next one.
This book in the series kept me in suspense so much. I waits for the other show to drop so many times. The ending has me laughing and holding my breath to see what happens next. Good writer
From start to finish, I binged this series totally wrapped up in this world wondering what will happen next for Saige and her guys. I have so many questions with my mind spinning with the possibilities. Thoroughly enjoyed!
Eclipsed by Magic, the fourth book of the Drexel Academy series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). I'm loving the complexity of meshing varied personalities in a five-way relationship. The author has done a great job of assuming probable issues and solutions.
God i want to love these books and in some way i do cause hey I’m 4 books in and the ending has me hopeful but there’s so much consent and asking and waiting it feels like a middle school book. I’m praying the best one gets more adult
I did not see that ending coming for Saige and the guys. But what can you expect from such a tumultuous start to the book with the council being at the school. It’s bananas. Also. The hardship within their bond because everyone was trying to do it all on their own.
The plot was a little ropey towards the middle of this book and I was fatigued to see there are another 2 before the conclusion given they don't cover a huge amount of time, however, that being said I will be reading book 5.
Interesting twists in this excellent series sees Saige and her bonds try to keep themselves hidden; a chance encounter with her grandfather reveals hidden truths and a scramble to avoid the council reveals another surprise. 4 stars. Highly recommend.
I am very disappointed that you don't put in an update on what has gone before when you take such a long time between books. It would only be a common courtesy.
This series is shaping up nicely well written excellent plot and well deserved five stars would highly recommend this series can't wait for the next one
My biggest problem with the entire series so far, is it's slow until the last 20% of each book. It feels like filler, and not much happens and then the endings wind up and are huge. I don't like being bored for 80% of every single book.
Also, this is RH... but the FMC is a fucking prude who's apparently scared of sex and unaware of sexual things. In this time period... that's really unrealistic and dumb. Most girls I knew were hitting double digits with partners by the time they were 19. That's super annoying. Especially when she's clearly attracted to them and has a lot of opportunities to explore. It's super off-putting.
