Adoro Hooky, con pasión y locura. Es una historia que logra ser tierna y divertida, pero a la vez tocar temas bastante complejos y, por momentos, da un giro oscuro en lo que cuenta. Sin embargo, siempre bien equilibrado.
Dani y Dorian, y todo el equipo de amigos que han hecho, son perseguidos por los no-brujos y por los brujos. Por unos por hacer magia y, por los otros, por no unirse a sus planes. Cuando el prometido de Mónica desaparezca, irán a buscarlo pues él y su padre son de los pocos que quieren la paz entre brujos y no-brujos.
De verdad, la pasé muy bien con este volumen, puede que no recordara de inmediato a todo el equipo, pero no tardé en hacerlo. Me encantan las distintas dinámicas entre los personajes, tanto las bromas, las amistades y las posibles relaciones amorosas, aunque sean todos niños, son relaciones muy tiernas, de ese amor de niños.
Me parece muy interesante que no exista un bando "bueno" como tal en esta historia, por los brujos más extremos quieren acabar con los no-brujos por el odio que estos sienten, mientras que los no-brujos quieren acabar con los brujos porque los ven como amenazas. Esta historia no es una en la que solo podamos esperar que el bando bueno gane, sino que debe haber un acuerdo entre ambas partes, porque el daño que hicieron los no-brujos es real, pero también el que los brujos están haciendo ahora.
Además, el tema de la profecía de los hermanos y de quién será el rey o reina de los brujos me gusta mucho, aporta ese toque oscuro a la trama y esa cosa que temer para los que estamos leyéndola. Pues sabemos quién es muy posible que lo sea y eso es aterrador para el personaje, porque sabemos cómo es y cómo se esfuerza.
De nuevo, los dibujos y el estilo de la autora me gustó mucho. Es uno sencillo, pero que funciona bien, logra no saturar ni cansar, pero tampoco sacrificar detalles y color en el proceso. Y, esto es muy tonto, pero de verdad aprecio que los diálogos de los personajes sean de colores diferentes para poder diferenciarlos.
En retrospectiva, creo que sí sentí algo caótica y desordenado este volumen. Me lo leí muy rápido porque era divertido, pero al pararme a pensar qué fue lo que pasó o cuál arco seguimos en esta parte, no fue sencillo. De hecho, tuve que leer la sinopsis para decir "ah, entiendo, eso fue". Entiendo que es algo que puede pasar con la lógica de webtoon de ir subiendo capítulos y capítulos, la verdad es que no sé si la autora los dividió en temporadas y esas son los volúmenes o si este corte se hizo para el papel, porque lo segundo lo explicaría un poco.
Hooky 2 nos trae más aventuras de los hermanos Dani y Dorian, más todo el grupo de amigos que hicieron por el camino. La pelea entre no-brujos y brujos continúa, como así también la profecía que pesa sobre los hermanos y sobre quién será el rey de los brujos.

The characters, they're all so cute - their relationships are so adorable. And the intensity of the plot really builds up here. I love the moral ambiguity of everyone's situation.
I thought that this would be the final volume, given the way things were going, but... nope, definitely not lol. Looks like I'll just be waiting a whole agonizing year for volume 3!

Yes, the storyline is a little chaotic and all over the place at times but this gorgeously illustrated and adorable story is filled with adventure, magic, humour and love in many forms and it’s such a lot of fun.

Okay, well this story is following along classic lines: ring them in with comedy; then start piling on the drama! Every triumph seems to bring tragedy with it. But it all began with such fluff and innocence.
The twins, Dani and Dorian, still seem to be our main characters, but they've accrued a sizeable supporting cast quickly enough that I'm hard-pressed to recall how they even met some of them. Events seem to be heading to a place where, through some action of the twins, the suspicion and fear with which normal folks view witches will be overcome, or at least eased. But it's not clear how that's going to happen, or, for that matter, if it's going to happen. It doesn't feel like a story that ends in tragedy, though we've had some pretty tragic things happen thus far.
Obviously, it's getting good.
This is volume 2, so start with volume 1. Or be a rebel. Whatever. Hooky is a fine series. I love the character designs! The storytelling can get a bit weak at times, but I enjoy spending time with these characters too much to let that throw me off. There's at least one more volume to go, and I'm certainly looking forward to it. Recommended!

Desde que Dani y Dorian Wytte perdieron el autobús, han tenido que vivir mil aventuras, además de enfrentarse a su familia y al resto de brujos sedientos de venganza, pero es difícil descubrir cuál es el lado indicado, o si realmente lo hay, ahora que su propio hermano Damien ha sido coronado Rey de los Brujos. Así, emprenderán un viaje a través del desierto para encontrar a amigos desaparecidos, en una aventura en la que descubrirán las crueles consecuencias del legado de los ni-magos, el poder que corre por las venas de los Wytte y lo duro que es no sentirse nunca a salvo.
Hay que ver cuánto han cambiado las tornas desde las primeras páginas del primer tomo hasta todo lo que hemos vivido en este segundo volumen: a pesar de mantener cierta adorabilidad, lo preciosos que son los personajes y el tono ligero, aun tocando temas y sumergiéndose en el drama, todo ha ido girando hacia una ambientación más turbia, con más drama dolor y oscuridad.

"Hooky" to coś więcej niż 5 gwiazdek. Coś znacznie, znacznie więcej.
To było... UROCZE?!?! PLS PLUS TE WĄTKI ROMANTYCZNE? ŻYJĘ DLA NICH!!! 5 gwiazdek nie jest wystarczająca, aby opisać moją miłość do tych komiksów. Wciągnęło mnie na tyle, że skończyłam pierwszy tom po 2 godzinach i od razu sięgnęłam po kolejny. GDZIE I KIEDY JEST TRZECI TOM?!?! Potrzebuję go mieć na półce, a teraz próbuję się przełamać, aby przeczytać to na Webtoonie, bo wiem, że mnie to złamie.
Nie oczekiwałam niczego po samym opisie, stwierdziłam, że to będzie przyjemny komiks o rodzeństwie w fantastycznej krainie, a dostałam coś, co pokochałam od pierwszej strony i już na zawsze zostanie w mojej topce. "Hooky" to po prostu wszystko, czego człowiek potrzebuje.
+ uwielbiałam zauważać, jak rodzeństwo stawało się coraz starsze i jak zmieniał się powoli ich wygląd - jak dorastali (Nie jestem gotowa na trzecią część).

Me ha encantado esta segunda parte, la historia va cogiendo más cuerpo y amo cada vez más a todos los personajes, me parecen un grupo maravilloso. Las ilustraciones son una pasada 💖💖💖

These end on the biggest freaking cliffhangers, I swear.
I do have the third novel but I don't want to start it right now! I have so many other books I need to read. 😫
But other than that, this was a very cute and enjoyable graphic novel. I think I might even like this volume more than the first one.
It may be cute but it can get quite deep and dark. On the back cover it says it's for ages 8-12, but I don't think an 8 year old should be reading this lol maybe 11 and older, but no younger than that.
I suffered so much second hand embarrassment from this book. 🤣
I absolutely LOVE Dani and Dorian's sibling bond that they have for each other, it is so freaking CUTE! I love how when they're upset, they ignore everyone around them that's trying to comfort them and immediately go grab each other into a hug. SO CUTE! ❤️

Why do I do this to myself? I know that this will not end well. And yet, I keep on reading. What do they call it? Hate reading? Spite reading? Something like that.... Anyway, this one ends on a cliffhanger and I am telling myself now, "Do NOT read the third book."
The continuity alone was vexing. I don't know if it was a translation problem or if it was a cross-over from webcomic to book format problem, but I kept flipping pages, trying to find what was missing (hint: it was a coherent plot line).

Po skończeniu obu tomów doszłam do wniosku, że gdyby Dorian i Dani nie spóźnili się na autobus do szkoły, to te wszystkie przygody, magia i walki by się nie wydarzyły 🫣 więc gdybym wciąż była uczennicą, to chyba zaczęłabym wychodzić kilka minut szybciej z domu na każdy autobus hahaha (chyba, że studia się liczą, to dziś też to zrobię dla pewności)
Uwielbiam gdy w książkach jest motyw książek - poruszony nawet najdelikatniej, ale pojawia się jakiś wątek, że bohaterowie też darzą książki sympatią i jarają się np wielką biblioteczką itp - a jeszcze jak jest narysowana, tak jak w tym przypadku to już w ogóle moja dusza książkary jest pogłaskana hahaha.
Cudowna kreska i kolory w tej powieści, uwielbiam bohaterów i ich mimikę, słodziaki takie 🥹 i o czym muszę wspomnieć z czym się chyba pierwszy raz spotkałam (to akurat nic dziwnego, bo nie czytam zbyt wielu komiksów, ale jednak na te kilka to był chyba pierwszy raz) - każdy bohater miał swój kolor dymku, dzięki czemu bardzo łatwo było mi się odnaleźć w wypowiedziach, a i w komiksach czasem bywa dużo tekstu, więc to na ogromny plus!
+ w mojej głowie każdy bohater już dostał swoją tonację i barwę głosu (Monika na pewno najbardziej krzykliwą i piskliwą hahaha, charyzmatyczna bohaterka, tak to nazwijmy, ma charakterek i to też mnie w niej kupiło i jest przesłodko rysowana🥹)
Myślę, że młodsi czytelnicy będą tymi dwoma tomami zachwyceni, z resztą ja też się świetnie bawiłam, a najlepszym rozwiązaniem będą dla kogoś, kto chce to czytać razem z kimś młodszym.
Bo tego rodzeństwa i przygód bohaterów nie można nie polubić. Mamy tu dużo magii, zaklęć i intryg, które dostarczają też dreszczyku emocji.
Do tego zostały przemycone dla nas ważne wartości i ocieramy się o mniej lekkie tematy, które są ogromnym plusem tej historii.
I tak jak przy pierwszym tomie bardzo miło spędziłam czas, tak drugi podobał mi się nawet bardziej. Więc warto dać szansę obu, bo jest to bezpośrednia kontynuacja akcji z pierwszego. I dzieje się, oj dzieje.
