I am Rosie Miller and at the age of twenty, I know something I shouldn’t.
In order to keep the people I love alive, it is my turn to keep a secret that can change things forever.
Strained ties will need to be strengthened and those who I once thought were my friends would turn to enemies.
Only this time, I will not hesitate and it will be I who will finally deliver the killing blow.
I have a long way to go to take back my life from my mother, but with my newfound ally, I know that it is only time before I deliver a curse upon her like she did to me all those years ago.
Some may believe in my mother still, but I’ll take my chances with the dead-eyed Original.
At first I was so annoyed with this book. I just felt like it was dragging and parts of the story were just unnecessary But that freaking cliffhanger, yes must continue to read 😂 And I love love love that everyone is together now 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I liked this series but the more I've read the more I find it lacking. The amount of errors is ridiculous proofreading is a a thing for a reason. I found that the characters were starting to bore be. Rosie has let herself be used, abused and lied to without any real punishment or grovelling from anyone. She is basically a doormat at this point. Eli is an aggressive brute and their whole relationship is completely toxic and it seems the only thing they want from Rosie is sex. They do things to redeem themselves then something awful. They have had very little character development and are basically racist against the different classes of demons. Treating everyone as if they are dirt or just a punching bag. Rae is probably one of the only characters I still like. The shifter wasn't explained enough he's a cat/familiar but that's all we really know. His entire back story and their relationship is very rushed and again only physical. The witch is pathetic and very selfish. Rosie's friendship with matt and the others isn't explored. The whole thing is just disappointing and it seems that all the other characters are just using the main character for purely physical reasons at times and she just let's it happen. I don't mind spice in books infact it's something I enjoy but when it takes away from the plot of the book its just annoying and it feels like the time spent on the series was wasted. The books are too dragged out and should have been made into a trilogy instead.
Ugh i hate that i put this rating because the first 3 books were amazing, yet i feel like it lacked in some areas. Some of the issues i have with this series is that its too long and doesn’t get to the point.
Spoilers**** The twist with matt i did not expect that so it’s the reason why i gave it a 3 because of a plot twist
End of Spoiler****
I find one of the MCS (forget the name he is a witch dude) To be a wimp in my opinion it feels like he is the type of guy that will cry about everything and need someone to reassure him every second of the day.
Also Eli is a bit to aggressive for me.
The biggest issue i have with this series specially this book is the fact that the storyline is so slow, there was no need to have 5 books.
I'm not sure when exactly I noticed it, but I don't resonate or connect with any of the characters anymore. This meant that reading this book was simple enough, but not exactly enjoyable or exciting. Instead, I was hoping for it to be over. The build up to and aftermath of the big fight were underwhelming for me. The growth of their individual powers and issues fell flat. The only thing that truly piqued my interest was Malik playing along with Rae, but even that was a one off that felt rushed. If I find the next book, I'll give it a go. But I don't think I'll eagerly be awaiting it.
Wow so much has happened in the series and I’m so sad that it’s almost over! These characters have been through a lot and I don’t wanna let them go. There’s so much thats happened in this book it’s actually insane and it was a pleasure to read from start to finish I don’t know what’s gonna happen except I know there’s gonna be more magic more spicy times and more craziness 💖
This is hands down my favorite book in the series so far. I went back and re-read it. I probably will do it again. The tension that's been building in the first three books explodes in this one. Elle Mae's world and characters are a gift that keeps on giving. I love the journey and I am counting down for the release of book 5.
4,25⭐ I don't care what anyone else says I love Eli, they are definitely my favorite character and overall I miss their scenes a bit, although I liked that Rae is getting more attention with the story telling and Malik is growing on me, but I feel like this why choose has very hard time finding a balance. I also think that plotline is over complicating itself and the plotlines are becoming more apparent, but the obsession between everyone, the spice and the still intriguing plot is just too entertaining.
What a great series. This installment let’s you see the transformation of Rosie. Strong and independent filled with compassion and versatility. I look forward to the next installment.
I found this book not as good as the first three got boring in my opinion and the only reason I continued reading it was for the malik part. Not sure if I will read book 5 after this one
