A Summary of the Creed of As-Salaf as-Saalih

Rate this book
A creed is a set of fundamental beliefs and guiding principles of a religion. A religion or sect differs from another if its beliefs and principles are different. At the present time we find many religions and numerous sects of each religion in this world, while the Creator of this world has prescribed a simple and straight forward religion for us. He sent many Messengers and Prophets to various nations at different times to propagate His Message to mankind. But the people after those Messengers and Prophets changed their beliefs, thus deviating from the original religion. This went on until Allah sent his Last Messenger (S) to mankind.

So it is our duty now to guard against deviation from the fundamental beliefs and principles of the only one religion, Islam, that was sent by Allah from the existence of this world.

This book clearly defines the creed which the Last Messenger (S) has taught us. We should adhere to this creed to save our religion and to worship Allah according to the correct way which was the way of the Prophet (S), his Companions, the successors of the Companions, and the followers of the successors.

Just in the beginning of Ramadan, I finished this tiny, simple, well-structured booklet.
I found this book to be informative and a good place to begin to learn about "salafiyah". I sincerely advise people who have a strange perspective about Salafi (who may consider to be harsh/strict, or probably "too religious") they must give it a read to understand what exactly the "Salafi" people are trying to follow. The principles or fundamentals listed in this book will help you get the clarity and most probably try to tackle your misconceptions regarding them.

Also, why should we also be following these fundamentals/principles (written in the book) anyways. Simply because that's the right way, that's the way of the righteous predecessors. If we love Prophet PBUH, if we want to follow him correctly, then we must educate ourselves with his teachings that he conveyed to his companions and his companions then conveyed to the next generation of righteous people, and so on. And not to listen to deviants or excuse makers, who try to water down the religion until it loses its pure form.

It is an obligation on us all Muslims to seek the truth and accept it; regardless of our personal preferences or societal pressure.

May Allah reward the people who brought this book into existence. May Allah guide us all to the right path and help us remain steadfast.

8/10; very good. For Teens, but maybe a bit sophisticated for beginners. Briefly goes over Imaan Pillars as well.
