Supernatural Anime Of The Year Mystery Or Psychological Anime Of The Year Boy Of The Year Supporting Girl Of The Year ??????? Shinpei and the gang rushed to save Sou’s father and discovered the true identity of Heine and her evil associate. Meanwhile, Nagumo must go all out to defeat the enemy, even if it means she must sacrifice everything she got…!
The Shideh reveal is immensely satisfying and well done. The book plays with the reader's expectations and it's great. A big setup and planning session is shown after the fact only for things to go sideways really bad. I love how unpredictable everything is.
Heines origin is explained, Master Ryunosuke gets to shine and there is a new angle between Heine & Shideh which makes me very curious what will happen in that final volume.
This manga is one of those series that get better with each volume and I hope the finale will deliver as well.
So much anticipation to finally read the last two books of the series Summertime Rendering definitely keeps the readers on their toes. Shinpei and Shadow Mio is fast becoming my favourite characters. Never would have rooted for the opposite side before only Shadow Mio is different to other villains she makes me question the over all motive of the bad guys without their leader.
Although The Shadows timeline is on a time loop slows down the mystery a bit. I am rooting for a happy ending for both sides. Hoping Book Six comes out soon I am eager to find out who comes out the winner in the battle to safe the island.
Another masterpiece in my opinion action packed, and fast-paced with the trick or two I didn't expect to see. The author does a great job of not only grabbing the reader's attention but making them guess what's to come and then completely shocking the reader. This was another fantastic manga but I believe it's deserving of a five star, not only for the fantastic artwork but the continuously ominous and interesting story
My head is hurting like Shinpei’s from all this time looping!!!! And this volume had to take away TWO of my favorite characters???! Wth.. BUT… I’m excited for this next volume. How will this crazy ass story end???
Even though it can be hard to follow all the loops and time jumping in the series, it certainly pays off to take the time. Great art, compelling story, interesting characters - this series has it all.
Keeps me in the edge of my seat. I really love the limit enforced on the time traveling. It keeps it from feeling repetitive, well that, and whatever emotional heartbreak that ended the last loop. Can't wait to read the last one.
Everything is feeling a little repetitive by this point. They are making slow progress and the bad guy is becoming more dangerous. I enjoy the characters and the over all storyline, so I want to see how this ends.
Summertime Rendering has become one of my all time favorite manga series. This omnibus volume really set this in stone for me. Can't wait to finish this series!!
With the startling realization that Shide is more than meets the eye, Shin and friends are set on trying to find Shide's other form and weaken him that way. Shin loops a few more times with Shiori/Heine going along for the ride and gaining even more insight into what Shin is planning. As before, when Shin loops with another person beside him, he sees their past. This time, he sees Hizuru's memory of her and her twin brother, Ryunosuke, before he was killed. Hizuru shows Shin that she and Heine were friends, but Heine's insatiable hunger led to the tragedy that trapped Ryunosuke inside Hizuru's body. On the latest loop, Heine sets up a trap for Shin: save Hizuru-sensei, who as Ryunosuke, is battling Shide, or save all his other friends who are about to be devoured by the largest shadow on the island.
There is still no keeping track of all of these different timelines and events, so now I'm squarely along for the enjoyable ride. There is so much action in this series, but peaking through every once in a while is something heartfelt and beautiful. We've been waiting since volume one to really figure out who Hizuri is and why she has this dueling personalities, so this has definitely shed some light and helped humanize her quite a bit. This volume is also super tragic and left on a nasty cliffhanger. At this point, I'm really not sure how this is all going to come together to conclude in the next volume. I almost don't want this wild ride to end.
✨ Writing a grouped review as I started reading this series a few months ago and read it over a few months. I do not remember the specifics of each specific volume apart from the overarching story and specific ratings for each volume. ✨
As a sci-fi/mystery series this is not my most common genres but this series honestly surprised me in a good way.
There is a not insignificant amount of fan service, especially in the earlier volumes which I didn’t love but it gets better. The series does also get a bit more repetitive at times.
However, I would recommend this series. It is genuinely creepy and disturbing at times. Good use of the groundhog day trope as well
