Another mountain man/lumberjack novella. These novellas are so quick to read and make the perfect palette cleansers, while still being good. Again, if you like Gemma Weir, I think you’ll like these lumberjack men.

It's been a while since its prequel book Kept by the Beast but it still could be read as a standalone. This one told a story about one of the brothers that Asa worked with, the player one, Micah. He had one-(unforgettable)-night-stand with one amazing gal. They met and hooked up. Micah wanted more, but circumstances wouldn't allowed him to. She wanted more too, but her past made her question everything with Micah. One happy surprise brought them back together and so they began to work on their issues.

It was a kinda sweet story with me crushing for Micah. I mean he was a player, but he was nothing but a gentleman. He was a player because he was expected to be one, but he never forced the women for anything. It was kinda cute seeing his struggle with his insecurity. And it warmed the story when he man up and decide to seduce our h; convincing her that they have a relationship, family, and love worth fighting for. This one made me wanna snuggle at home and read without a single care of the world. *sigh*

This is an ultra steamy, insta love, age gap, lumberjack romance & it hits all the marks for me in a book that’s only 72 pages.

Just enough of a plot to be intriguing, but simple enough to keep going on quickly!

One night of brave passion leads to a surprise baby.
Kate had been in a worthless relationship with a man who finally admitted after years he didn't want the same things she did.
At her friend's bachelorette party, Kate worked up the nerve to take what she wanted and Micah didn't complain.
Micah was instantly mesmerised by this woman and wanted her in his life permanently but it didn't seem possible.
When Kate returns and drops the bombshell, he is adamant she must be his wife and they will be a proper family.

I understood the doubts in Kate's mind but she wanted this life which suddenly seems too good to be true.
Micah is honorable, kind, caring and willing to do the right thing even though he has craved her since she left.
I was amazed by the depth in this short read that I must admit I binge read.
Two perfect people brought together by fate or just a miniscule tear.
I found Micah to be so endearing and I'm sure I am not the only one who thinks he is the perfect book boyfriend.

Es corto y la lectura es rápida.

En éste se contaba la historia de uno de los hermanos con los que trabajaba Asa, el jugador, Micah.

Tuvo una (inolvidable) aventura de una noche con una chica increíble. Se conocieron y se enrollaron.

Micah quería más, pero las circunstancias no se lo permitieron.

Ella también quería más, pero su pasado le hizo cuestionarse todo con Micah. Una feliz sorpresa los volvió a unir y así empezaron a trabajar en sus problemas.

Era un jugador porque se esperaba que lo fuera, pero nunca forzó a las mujeres a nada. .

Fue bonito ver cómo luchaba contra su inseguridad.

Y calentó la historia cuando se hizo hombre y decidió seducir a nuestra protagonista convenciéndola de que tenían una relación, una familia y un amor por el que valía la pena luchar.

Este me hizo querer acurrucarme en casa y leer sin una sola preocupación del mundo

I really enjoyed this book. As with most novellas it left me wanting more of Kate and Micah, but the epilogues did put a pretty bow on the story to give it a good wrap up. The intensity of Micah was not only endearing but very powerful. Kate’s reticence to marry him after finding out she was pregnant was understandable but sometime a bit too laborious. I loved their instant connection as it’s what makes most romances so good right from the start. I also love that this author really knows how to make the curvy girls of life sexy and desirable. Thanks for that. It’s always great to read these more lifelike situations and their happy endings. Overall a super sexy and satisfying quick read.

4.5 stars. Micah and Kate, the lead characters, hook up the night Kate attends a bachelorette party. Though they used protection, Kate becomes pregnant. When she comes to find him, he is excited, as he hadn’t been able to get her out of his mind.

This short story is dual POV, well written, and hot younger man/older woman romance. It contains elements of pregnancy/breastfeeding kink, which I really enjoyed.

This is the second book in the Lumberjacks of High Ridge Series. You can read this book as a standalone, it is connected to book one but the previous books characters are only mentioned. Micah and Kate's story is an accidental pregnancy story. Kate wasted years on a relationship that went nowhere, now she finds herself pregnant from a one nightstand. Micah has been enjoying the bachelor life. Will he be able convince Kate that he's serious about a relationship with her?

Got off to a great start

I loved it.. u til i relaized how short the story was. Roght when things started hitting a peek in the timeline where the main characters were going to try and get together and see if it would work... it skipped ahead a year and its the epiloge telling you they were together and happy... without being able to read the story of how they got there. I love it it was written good but i was disappointed you dint get to experience the whole story just the inital meetings. Very short 2hr read at most.

These are quick short insta-love stories I use as pallet’s cleansing in between books or when I need a break from a current read. Personally Kept by the Beast and Found by the Loner were a bit better.

I don’t care for stories to be surprise pregnancies especially from one night stands. It’s an ick for me but I continued on with the story. I did like that Micah stepped up to the responsibility of being a parent. It was extreme of course but that’s how these stories are. Also all the pregnancy talk kind of made me roll my eyes at times.

This is a mostly instalove story but also a second chance romance. After a one night stand they have the second chance at a future and most of the story is Micah trying to convince her that a future is possible even though they have only known each other a short time. I really liked the story and it was a fast read. I am already reading the previous story in the series

Heart-warming and....The 75-page Claimed By The Woodsman is the 2nd in the Lumberjacks Of High Ridge Trilogy. I'll start by saying I despise the "surprise baby" trope. I never read them, but since I read and enjoyed the writing in the first book, Kept By The Beast, I decided to try this one. I'm glad I did. It was sweet, heart-warming and encouraged moving past our own blocks. I borrowed this from KU and recommend it.

A feel good romance from a one night stand, loved the rugged alpha male who knows only one speed, going after what he wants. Enjoyed this storyline, not your typical characters for a one night stand. Great ending, liked just how much effort that was shown for this couple.

Hallie Bennett painted a sexy, sweet picture with Micah and Kate's story. They were so perfect together. Their chemistry sizzled and sparked right off the pages. I think every girl wants a man that knows what he wants and goes after it... a man that isn't afraid to admit when he's wrong and fix it... a man who lives for nothing else but his loved ones. This is a cute story with a great HEA!

I think this author has possibilities. In some cases wrong verb tense and others words mixed or rearranged so the sentence didn't make sense. Other than that I enjoyed the book and plan on reading the next one.

I really did not enjoy this, it was probably my least favorite from the series BUT that’s because **spoilers ahead** she gets pregnant after a one night stand and they become an instant family. It’s a cute story but I HATE a pregnancy trope so much I couldn’t get past it. If you like a pregnancy trope/instant family this would be a good read for you!

A quick read

3.5* A nice story, a one night stand ends in pregnancy and starts a lifetime of love and devotion.
For me it was just too short, due to this fact it lacked details that being a story to life.
Yes it flowed, but at a speed where it lacked details so lacked emotional connection.

Not my thing.

I didn’t like this as much as the last one, but that’s mostly because it explores the lactation kink, which gives me big ick. No judgement if that’s your thing. I’ve always said I don’t have limits to the smut I read, but I think I’ve found mine.
