Cassidy London joins the Leave Me Breathless World with a swoon-worthy, grunge meets pop, Rockstar Romance...

Jax
Mesmerized by her beauty, I watched as she swayed to the music.
Incomparable and exotic, her call to every cell in my body was louder than the 120 decibels of our last concert.
Winning her should have been easy.
But Aria Winters was unphased by stardom and looked at me with disdain.
She was the only girl I’d ever met who didn’t like rock stars.
Challenge accepted.

Aria
With his chiseled jawline, piercing black eyes, and international fame, Jax Andersson had a voice that made women everywhere swoon.
Except for me.
I couldn’t have cared less about the alternative rock world.
It wasn’t my jam—and neither were junkie rock stars with massive egos.
I was only there to do my job and move on with my life.
But when Jax offered me the one thing I was desperate for, I couldn’t refuse.
I should have stood my ground.
He should have kept his distance.
Because now, I was going to have to beat him at his own game.

Dirty Verse is by far one of the best Rocker Romance I have read to date
This book pulled so many emotions from me; disgust, anguish & anger but love, lust & an intense pull. Their childhoods/background will break your heart. But to be able to overcome what each went through is just heartwarming. I found myself wanting to be in their lives and a part of their souls.
I do not normally read Rocker Romance, as the ones I have read just didn't catch my attention. But Dirty Verse caught my attention from the very 1st page. I absolutely LOVE the storyline and didn't want to see it end.
Definitely worth the One-Click.

Who Wouldn’t Want a Rock Star!!

Well, that person would be Aria. She was maybe the only one around who wasn’t ready to drop “everything” for the sexy rocker. Jax was every bit the rock star and lived the life with the sex, drugs and rock and roll.

This is a story of how opposites attract which only made their steam burn up the pages of this book. This was a first time read from this author and now I can’t wait for the next book.

Dirty Verse by Cassidy London is a rockstar romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Marina Barrett and Vincent Skye. This is the first book of the Dirty Rock series and is set in the Leave me Breathless World.

This is the first book of Cassidy's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I loved that Jax and Aria had an instant connection, but they had to work toward their happily ever after. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book Dirty Chords to be released on December 2, 2022 so I can get Ace and Harley's story.

Marina and Vincent did a great job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

This Story Rocks! Fantastic Narration & Listen🎧
Dirty Verse
Dirty Rock, Book 1 (Leave Me Breathless)
By: Cassidy London, Dragonfly Ink Publishing
Narrated by: Marina Barrett, Vincent Skye

Cassidy London leaves you breathless with this enjoyable and smoking hot rockstar romance novel. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. Aria, a professional dancer, is waiting to make her big break, in the meantime, she dances at the Pink Flamingo Dinner Cabaret. Her friend, Harley, asks for a favor, to work her shift at Sunset Dreams, but Aria does not want to jeopardize her future by dancing in a strip club, but her friend guilts her into doing it. Jax and his band were celebrating the end of their tour and wanted to party before making a video for one of their songs and heading back into the studio to put together their next album. They booked the private suite, the band was having fun watching the entertainment and when Jax saw her he knew she was no stripper and that he had to have her and requested a private dance. Aria did not want to do lap dances, but the money was good, her client took her by surprise and instead of a lap dance he wanted to talk with her. She is not into rock music so she did not know who he was, but she could tell he was a stoner and that is a big no no for her. Jax could not get her off of his mind and when they were interviewing dancers for their music video, he wanted her and his manager made it happen. Aria has issues with drug users, but he does not give up on her. She brings light into his life and he wants to better himself, he also realizes she is his muse. But she has her own dreams to pursue, he can not hold her back. This wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Cassidy London, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Marina Barrett and Vincent Skye were the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they are portraying, giving each a voice that fits their character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I picture the characters to sound. Vincent Skye rocked it as Jax, showed all sides of his personality as the swoon worthy rockstar he was, Marina Barrett played the perfect Aria, she too grasped all sides of her personality. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance, having you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this fantastic listen.

The guy does not have his act together.
Audiobook version: 3 stars overall, 3 stars story, 4 stars narration

This novel is definitely a New Adult romance, and it’s a rock star romance in which the lead singer of a rock band is addicted to hard drugs including cocaine. While I loved the heroine and was interested enough to listen to the entire book, the main male character and some aspects of the story did not appeal to me. The book is a slow burn, but there are a few very hot bedroom scenes eventually. Consensual rough sex, pretty graphic, and "dirty" talk. Curse words occur fairly often. Fans of New Adult romance might like this one.
I loved the heroine Aria who had worked hard going from a foster kid with nothing to a talented dancer with a college degree. She has a likable personality, and I also liked her best friend. I appreciate that the book is set in the 90s in L.A. and focuses on a fictional band, Desolation Sound, that seems similar to Pearl Jam. I enjoyed the retro feel with only pagers and landlines, no cell phones.
I didn’t like the main male character, Jax. For most of the book, he did not deserve Aria. Jax has been unable to write a song and has been spiraling down into depression until he sees his new muse, Aria, for the first time. He has a real drug problem. For most of the book, taking drugs is more important to him than making a good impression on Aria or respecting her preference to not be around people high on drugs. For a while, Jax acted like a jerk to his bandmates and Aria with his explosive temper and crankiness. Also, it irritated me how he constantly called Aria “goddess” repetitively in almost every sentence. I could not like the guy. He managed to somewhat redeem himself later by showing Aria respect. My other problem with the book is that the happy ending seemed too quick and easy solving all of Jax’s and Aria’s problems.
The novel had dual narration. The female narrator Marina Barrett was excellent in every way, including versatile and realistic voices for characters. I give her performance 5 stars. However, the male narrator Vincent Skye got on my nerves. He spoke much too slowly, and I had to play the book at 1.2x in order to get through it. His voice for Jax sounded pretty good and realistic for a 90s rocker from Toronto, but his female voices were subpar. He is pretty good at love scenes and emoting.

A sexy rock star romance that showcases love and support and a sweet HEA. Jax and Aria meet when she does a favor for a friend at her strip club, and Jax shows up after one of his shows with the rest of his band. She’s a professional dancer, working hard to make it in her career. He’s struggling with the loss of his muse, his inspiration all but gone, and he’s buried himself in addictions to cope. When they first meet at the club, he immediately pulls her away to a private room - not for a dance or anything else, but because he wants to just talk to her, and get her away from all the other leering faces. And while that initially intrigues Aria, the night ends in a fist fight, and Aria walks away, completely uninterested in the troubled and troublesome rocker.

But Jax isn’t swayed easily. When his band needs to make a music video, and none of the models or actresses are hitting the mark for him during the auditions, Jax decides to take a chance and demand Aria for the part. When she gets the call, she’s shocked, but the money is too good for her to pass up, not to mention how good it will look on her CV, so she jumps at the shot. The steamy scenes in the video almost cross the line for them, and their chemistry is undeniable. But Aria is insistent she wants nothing to do with an addict, so she walks away after the job. Still, Jax is not deterred. He pursues, and she finds it more and more difficult to resist. When they finally stop fighting their attraction Jax immediately finds his inspiration, lyrics and music come flying out of him faster than they have in years. But Aria is her own woman, pursuing her own career - and that could end up tearing them apart.

Overall I really enjoyed this story. Jax is actually fully respectful and supportive of Aria and her career, pretty much no questions asked, even when he knows it could ultimately pull them apart. My only issue is that he is pretty significantly dependent on his addictions, and even though he recognizes that he has a problem that he needs to deal with, it’s not something he ever truly addresses in a hardcore way. Then it all seems to resolve itself fairly smoothly, with very little fanfare, which just seemed a bit unrealistic given the levels of his addiction prior to meeting Aria. But the romance is hot and sexy, with a side of sweetly romantic, and ultimately, that is what holds the story together in the end.

This rock star romance is first and foremost a story about addiction. Jax Andersson is a musician in a nineties grunge band, living the high life, literally. He uses uppers and downers and pages his dealer daily. His musical muse is obstructed because he's fried his brain with drugs, and even his bandmates think hes a jerk when stoned, which is most of the time. He keeps promising himself to get sober tomorrow but never does. But then he and his friends go to visit a strip club and he sees Aria, a professional dancer who is subbing for a friend of hers. Jax falls for Aria at first sight and thinks she could be his muse. Aria is wary of drug users because of her rough childhood, but the physical chemistry convinces her to give Jax a chance. He gets ideas for new lyrics when dirty talking with her and actually manages to stay drug-free when he's high on sex. For a lot of this book Jax wasn't really a romantic hero because his self-talk made it clear he had a huge drug problem and a lot of self-deception going on, and it isn't ideal for reliable relationships. It seemed like he was gone deep enough that he needed more than a good woman's love to fix him, and he ends up going to a twelve-steps group. I would have liked to read something about what happened in that group or any insights he had about his own behavior, but this bit was glossed over.

She brings his muse back but will he be her downfall or is she his angel

Dirty Verse by Cassidy London is the first book in the Dirty Rock series and is also part of the multi-author Leave Me Breathless series. This is the first book I have read by this author so I was not sure what to expect. But as I have read and enjoyed a couple of the other books in this series I decided to pick up Dirty Verse and see what happened, as who doesn't love a swoony bad boy rock star romance. This is an opposites attract story between Aria and Jax. She is everything he is not and is not about to let herself be sucked into his "sex, drugs, and rock and roll" live to become what he is, after all she is a dancer who keeps her body and mind clean and clear. Jax on the other hand is a literally on one drug or another almost all the time and is frying his brain so badly that his muse has run far away from him. But when Jax sees Aria, who is subbing for a dancer friend, he falls immediately for her, head over heels. They have a blistering hot chemistry between them and what happens next is a story that will keep you reading into the night. Let's just say that the muse comes running back with some dirty verses.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

This was a quick rockstar romance with two characters who I really struggled to gel with. I actually couldn't really get on board with any of the characters.

I understand rockstar romances show a darker side to the industry and the bad things that can claw their way into the characters over time but these were drastic. The characters were very surface level and everyone's reactions were unnecessary in terms of extremity.

Jax was a very hard character to like when he was constantly taking substances he shouldn't and knew he shouldn't. He then tried to turn this around for Aria but his excuses for going back to them were not well enough formed or strong enough arguments. Aria then found this out in a poor revelation at the end and it really did not sit well with me that she just let it slide. He was always yelling as well. Everything resulted in Jax yelling. He was taking overprotective and obsessive to another level.

Aria was very nieve, especially for a woman going into the music industry. I would have thought she would have had some knowledge. It didn't make sense since she had past experience working in the strip club and had an idea of what happened behind closed doors.

When it comes to Rockstar Romance, Dirty Verse is it. Seriously, this book was SO good. I was blown back by how well it's written, and the characters were truly exceptional. Cassidy London delivered an amazing story, I loved her writing style, and the cast comes across as authentic. The storyline is beautifully written, emotionally engaging, and heartfelt, wrapped in some drama, angst, romance, and scorching HOT steam. Aria is a professional dancer, and Jax is the vocalist for a rock band. The two cross paths in an unlikely place, a strip club. Their chance meeting soon become so much more, building an emotional and physical bond while balancing each other out. Despite being total opposites, the chemistry between Aria and Jax is off-the-charts. I was completely charmed by and enjoyed every moment of their journey.

Outstanding narration by Marina Barrett and Vincent Skye. They did an incredible job portraying Aria and Jax's personalities, complicated emotions, and connections. They were each believable in their roles and literally breathed life into the story. Dirty Verse was a fantastic listen, one I'll strongly recommend.

Rock star and dancer
Opposite ends of the scale. Jax, a rockstar enjoying all the highs it gives to the full, drugs, sex, drink all easily available and readily used and abused. Until he meets a dancer in a strip club. Aria, a dancer with dreams and goals of making it on tour for her favourite singer, filling in at a strip club for friend who is ill with food poisoning. A VIP dance for the rock stars, not particularly interested in them or their music, but Jax becomes enamoured and insists she is hired for the group's video. Her background does not allow for the abuse these people partake in and she backs away. Lots of emotions and energy. Take into account the jealous, manipulating ex, the drama of the group's lifestyle, there are issues on both sides for each to face and deal with. His money and fame hold little interest for Aria. The man he is to become because of her, is the man Jax strives to be and changes are afoot for the better and benefit of everyone. I enjoyed reading this

Jax was your typical rockstar, he was angry with himself, his band and his ex girlfriend who left him and took his muse. Worst of all he was hooked, the monkey on his back had almost killed him but there was no way he was giving it up. Aria had a rough start in life but she wasn’t going to let that define her life. Yeah she was a dancer but tonight she was going to strip as a favor to her friend Harley. It’s just a job to her, she’s covering Harleys ten pm shift and then she’s out of there.
The only problem is that she has to cover the VIP area and will probably have to give naked lap dances, but it’s a job and she can handle them. Jax I have to say is hilarious! The stuff floating through his head is priceless, it had me laughing out loud. Aria has triggers from her childhood and Jax loves his drugs, so something’s gotta give. In the end these two were good for each other, it’s such a sweet love story. I loved this book, I’m giving it five stars and highly recommend it. Can’t wait to read book two.

Dirty Verse
Dirty Rock, Book 1 (Leave Me Breathless)
By: Cassidy London, Dragonfly Ink Publishing
Narrated by: Marina Barrett, Vincent Skye

Jax is the one that doesn't get involved. But he does enjoy the nights out. This one in particular has a dancer his bandmate has a crush on so going back this last night is just for him. That is when his life takes a complete turn. Aria is a dancer, ready to find her big break. Helping out her friend occasionally
isn't ideal, but it's good money. Then in the VIP room, she meets Jax, and her heart is now stolen. Fun, easy, witty banter, incredible chemistry, Cassidy London left me breathless. The chase is on, and we get to hear and feel it all as Jax has to work for his woman. It's a fantastic listen and I will be watching for more from London!

Marina Barrett is an amazing narrator. She falls into character as the stubborn Aria, and takes us on her emotional journey. Vincent Skye is new to me and I loved his voice! He fit the role of rockstar and gave us the humor and love. This pairing is perfectly cast and an enjoyable listen.

Jax is a successful musician who handles the pressure of his responsibilities with drugs, alcohol and women. Between the video that needs to be produced and the songs he needs to write he is struggling as he lacks inspiration. All it will take is one night out with his bandmates when he meets Aria, and he knows that she is what has been missing in his life.

Aria is a dancer who happens to meet Jax when she agrees to help out her friend. She never expected to see him again until she his manager asks her to participate in his video. From that moment on they are all in but not everyone is happy that they are together.

Jax and Aria are perfect for each other and due to their pasts understand each other in a way that others wouldn’t. The chemistry between them was intense and the way they supported each other’s careers was wonderful to see. I enjoyed the portrayal of the characters by the narrators and they had you invested in the characters and their relationship. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

A really good rocker romance. This is book 1 in London's Leave Me Breathless and while this book starts off so dark and ends in a HEA. I loved it! Smooth flowing storyline and dual point of view. Some repetition but nothing annoyingly so. Our main characters are rocker bad boy Jax and struggling dancer Aria. I loved Aria's independence, willingness to help friends and just overall strength. Jax I was kinda on the fence about but in the end was amazing too! OMG - the narration was perfect. So as a female reader most female vocals don't really stand out with me unless they are bad - this is SO not the case here...I adored listening to the vocals of Marina Barrett as Aria - what a beautiful, smoky voice - I loved it! Vincent Skye did great as well and this dual narration did wonders to bring these characters to life! I can't wait to see what's in store next in this series!

steamy romance about alternative rock singer Jax who has lost his inspiration and finds it again in dancer Aria.
Jax has been messing around with various drugs for a while in an attempt to regain his inspiration. His band members party hard and the band seems to be in a negative spiral. Aria is a passionate dancer whose dream is to dance in the entourage of a famous pop singer. One evening they meet and after a difficult start they finally manage to find each other. Accessible writing style, easy to read. I really liked the beginning, Jax;s struggle, Aria’s discipline, their tumultuous beginnings, their steamy relationship, but at a certain point I find it bogged down in a somewhat cliche romantic story with a jealous ex who tries to undermine the relationship, I find the ending less strong and original myself. Nevertheless an entertaining book

Aria is a trained dancer, but she and her best friend are earning money in a strip club. Aria is hesitant to give private dances, but sometimes it's necessary to pay the bills. When she subs for her best friend who's definitely sick, she meets Jax Anderrson who is nothing like the rockstar she envisioned. Jax has been struggling to write songs and put his verses on the page, but with the freshness that Aria brings, his muse is back again. I loved this story and think that Jax is the epitome of a respectful and sensuous rockstar. Aria is pulled into his world when they make a music video together. There's a jealous woman who provides some angst to the story, but I have to hand it to Jax when he puts her in her place. I look forward to the next band member's story.
The narration was very well done by Marina Barrett and Vincent Skye. Their dynamic and unique voices combined to bring each of the characters to life.

★ “You’re now the only drug I’ll take” ★

—>>> Review Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars - “My muse was gone, my bandmates were at the end of their rope with me, and I was an asshole junkie who couldn’t get through a set without illegal substances.” This pretty much sums up Desolation Sound’s frontman Jax Andersson’s latest reality low as he wallows aimlessly in his current self-constructed rut. When he has to shoot a video with the band, however, he meets hired dancer Aria Winters, and he feels deep in his soul he has just found THE source of inspiration for their next album, if their chemistry on the set was any indication. The main problem is convincing this skeptical female to give him a chance at all, despite the bevy of ready temptations which go hand in hand with this business. Wish there was a band that really sings all these dirty verses!

Dirty Verse is the first book in the Dirty Rock series. This book is told from dual points of view by Jax and Aria.

Aria is a dancer and covers for her friend who is sick at a gentleman’s club. Jax is in a band and has lost his muse lately. When Jax sets his eyes on Aria he immediately has feelings. Jax asks for a private dance and gets to know her.

They separate ways but Jax can't stop thinking of her. He wants her in his music video and Aria could really use the money. Once there they start having to form with each other and start to go see each other often.

When Aria has a dream of a lifetime, can Jax support her choice? What happens when someone from one of their pasts tries to ruin something for one of them? Can Jax quit one of his bad habits for Aria? Will they get a happy ending?

Fans of AL Jackson and Kristen Ashley will devour this! I love a good rockstar romance and Cassidy London didn't disappoint. She brought me back in time to those moments when I'd experienced ALL THE FEELS swooning over Eddie Vedder or David Grohl. This opposites attract romance checked all my boxes (and then some). Jax and Aria's chemistry was off the charts H-O-T! Seriously, I thought my pages might set fire. This was my first book by this author but it definitely won't be my last. It works its way into your heart:
It pulled me in from the beginning and I could really feel Jax and Aria's emotions and chemistry. The whole rockstar way of life isn't my thing and I didn't like the drug use. Another person who wasn't into rockstar druggies was Aria yet she couldn't deny the intense attraction she felt towards Jax. They were both like a moth to a flame and I enjoyed watching their love grow and personal transformations.
Overall a good start to the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Rockstars are one of my favourite tropes to read. This one did not disappoint. This author does not paint a rosey picture of the life and includes some of the drugs and bleackness seen in this world. I loved the main characters Jax and Aria are great! This is a good story with a good amount of heat! I would have liked the author to delve into the struggles in more depth then I could see this being one of my all time favourite stories. I can't wait for the next book and look forward to reading the entire series!!!

This was a great opposites attracted rockstar romance by Cassidy London. Jax and Aria basically seemed doomed never to be especially because of Jax’s addiction issues but the attraction and chemistry between them is undeniable. Even though it is a romance it deals with Jax’s addiction and all the emotions that go with it. My first book by Ms London and most definitely will not be my last I devoured this and was left wanting so much more. I loved this and I loved Jax and Aria and I enjoyed reading about their journey.

Cassidy London has done it again! Dirty Verse was exactly the story I was looking for. It brought me back to those heavy, dirty days of grunge filled bars and mosh pits while incorporating the gritty reality of addiction and desire. Aria is a pure pleasure as the aspiring dancer with the heart of gold while Jax brought to mind artists like Eddie Vedder with more of an edge. Together they are a combustible treat that set my kindle on FIRE! The clothes, the music, the memories of a time since past that brings such fond memories for me as a Gen X-er...it was exactly what I needed! Excellent job! Sexiest book to date!

This was such a good rockstar romance, though it shouldn't surprise me since it was written by the awesome Cassidy London! She did a great job immersing the reader in the 90s, through the music, the vibes, everything; I felt like I was a teen all over again! The way these characters meet and connect was terrific, a true opposites attract romance and the heat levels are exactly what I expect from Cassidy's books! If you haven't read her work, definitely check this one out. I can't wait for book two!

Jax is a rock star through and through. With all good and bad - although the bad outweighs. Until he meets Aria. Your first meeting is definitely unlike anything else. She wants to further her dance career but without any help. Jax would do anything to show Aria that he can change and that she means everything to him. This book takes you through the ups and downs of this relationship and shows that it's not all just peace and joy. A must read for anyone who wants to read a different kind of romance.

Loved the dual narration of Marina Barrett and Vincent Skye. So perfect for this book

Even though Jax is a successful musician he has lost himself in drugs, alcohol and women. One night out with his bandmates when he meets Aria.
Aria is a dancer who happens to meet Jax when she agrees to help out her friend. Until she finds herself in his latest video. Not everyone is happy that they are together.

Jax and Aria are perfect for each other and due to their pasts understand each other in a way that others wouldn’t. The chemistry between them was intense
