This story is hard on your heart but I know it will be worth the journey by the end to see Liliana get her happily ever after.
These books do have more of a romance subplot but so much personal growth that I love so I don't mind waiting for a kiss or for them to fall in love.
Liliana is so sweet and just wants to do all she can to support and love Antonio, but he is so stubborn and proud. Antonio is complicated and I love that since it is only from Liliana's point of view we don't always quite know what he is thinking.
This book does make me want to slap Antonio sometimes because I just want him to wake up and choose a happily ever after now. But I know that neither he nor Liliana is ready for one.
So on to book 2 we go so they can grow themselves and hopefully together eventually...

this one hurts my heart. poor liliana.
I loved figuring out some of the mysteries from Temperance’s story and some characters that I have been curious about showed up! I kept waiting for the shoe to drop and it was hard to watch. These women went through so much. But those little moments of hope were so tender.
There were more typos in this one than the other ones. But it was worth it for the story, i love the behind the scenes and all the details.

This book was a little if a slow start but the premise had me intrigued from the beginning. The traditions of a mafia family and all that entailed for Liliana. As the story went on I could not get enough and was enthralled by Liliana’s life, courage, and strength! I cannot wait for me!

I would give this a 4.5.
I am really enjoying Lilliana’s story. She tries hard to be what everyone needs her to be and she does it for so long. I think it shows how strong she really is! I can’t wait to watch her growth in the next two books. I love the importance of family in this story and to see the lives of two very different close knit families.

Interesting but...
Interesting story, horrible editing. I like that this backtracks in time so you know what happened from Liliana's point of view instead of Temperances, but man. HIRE AN EDITOR.

So much YES. I love Liliana and watching her grow. There's so much heartache and recovery to be done, but this is another great start to a mafia romance. Give Liliana and Antonio a chance, I think they'll surprise you.

I have so much love for Aurora Darklight! Liliana's story is my favorite. She had a tough start, and I was rooting for her from the very beginning. It was heartwarming to see how she cared for Antonio during his recovery and loved little Gabe. All she wanted was to be loved.
This first part of her story was gut-wrenching at times, but it gave a great insight into her character. I also loved her friendship with Temperance.
This series is amazing! The closed-door mafia romance with no cursing is so refreshing. To fully appreciate the story, pay attention to the details, as everything has significance. I highly recommend it!
