When Rose’s husband committed suicide, Rose fell into a pit so deep and dark that medical professionals expressed doubts that she would ever fully recover. Two years later, Rose was diagnosed with cancer, and during a “minor medical procedure,” she bled to death, and had no heart beat for more than 10 minutes. In heaven, she was told that if she agreed to return to earth, she’d be restored to good health, physically, emotionally and mentally. Subsequent medical tests affirmed that every trace of the disease was gone, but as Rose often says, the “bigger story” was the restoration of her soul. The crippling grief, occasioned by her husband’s suicide, was gone. The story of Rose’s “temporary death experience” has garnered more than 3 million views on a wide variety of video platforms. The #1 comment shared by viewers is, “This is the best NDE story that I’ve ever heard.”
This is a transformational book. The author beautifully and skillfully describes her psychotic break after her husband's suicide. After months of desperation she is diagnosed with cancer. What next unfolds is truly amazing, awe inspiring, and uplifting. You cannot read this book without feeling the presence of God, angels, and divine love. The afterlife is real, folks, and this is proof.
I have had a lifelong interest in Near Death Experiences. One of my mother's best friends had one many years ago and self published a pamplet which I have just located in my mother's things. An elderly friend coded on the operating table. Rosemary Thornton's experience was different from either of these or from those I've read about in other books. She was taken to a "white room" and healed physically and emotionally. Rosemary is the widow of a man who committed suicide. The loss of her beloved husband sent her into deep depression followed by a cancer diagnosis. I highly recommend this book, beautifully written by Rosemary herself, a published author and expert on Sears kit homes.
So many things noteworthy in this woman's life. Hard early life, a divorce, then next husband commits suicide. She states it all and takes you with her as she bares her soul--pain, grief, and then finally moving on through other events. (I don't want to tell all.) Loved her sharing her close relationship with God who helped throughout her life's journey. Loved the personal story. Gives me much to ponder. Definitely worth the read. Highly recommend!
I am interested in near death experiences. Often the doctors do not have an explanation of why or how the person returns to the living and claim to have spent the time when they were clinically dead in the after life. For some it is Heaven. For others they experience a metaphysical voyage to other dimensions or other universes. But universally there is a light or a tunnel or a guide escorting them to the next plain. Thornton's experience completely changed her perspective on everything. One of the best take aways of these NDE is the loss of the fear of death. There are many skeptics who believe the NDE stories are fabricated, hallucinations, or dreams. Who knows? I myself am inclined to believe many of their stories. I do believe some "exaggerate" their experiences for attention or to sell a book. That leaves us, the readers, to decide whether or not we find them plausible. None the less, there are many unexplained "coincidences" about how they know things that went on in the room after they were unconscious, and also they sometime meet people in their journey they have never met such as a relative who has been long dead. I do believe Thornton's story and am happy she shared it with the world.
This book was so enjoyable. I saw her on an interview via YouTube and was so impressed by her story because I felt we had some things in common and hearing her and then reading her book gave me so much comfort. I don't believe in some of what she mentioned because of my own personal relationship with Jesus and because of what I've read within the Bible itself but I've learned not to "throw the baby out with the bath water" just because I don't 100% agree or believe something someone says. Anyhow, this is the kind of book that I'll definitely read again sometime in the future.
I really enjoyed reading this story. I have read a couple of books about people who have had near death experiences. There are definitely some similarities and there are a few differences. I am a suicide survivor. My brother left us when he was only 23 years old after he decided life was too painful to go on. In an instant, our lives were changed forever. Rosemary Thornton’s book, “Remembering The Light: How dying saved my life,” is a must read for those who wish to know more about the afterlife. I highly recommend!
A book that brings absolute comfort and reassurance. I listened to the audiobook because it is Rosemary herself who reads her work. She is charming and warm. (You can find her on YouTube). She is also an expert in Sears kit homes. If you need comfort and peace, a reassurance that God loves you fully and completely and that everything will be okay in the end, this is the story for you. Thank you, Rosemary, for sharing your glimpse of the light with us🥰
The main story is amazing, along with the beautiful side stories. However, I find there is a lot of repetition. I found myself skipping paragraphs orbonly reading the 1st lines because a lot had already been previously said/described.
Occasionally, some rare event occurs that opens up heaven to our earthly eyes. This was a lovely example of how we can better understand God and heaven.
This is a story of a woman who was deeply in love with her husband and after years of a romantic love story decided to be insensitive and kill himself. This ultimately led to her dying from cancer and her NDE. Her journey in the afterlife led her to the light, which was such a profound experience after going thru the velvety darkness which opened into the light with such tangible feelings of love that she felt with her entire soul. You will feel this too as you read this page turner.
Remembering the light taught me most of all how to love and nurture those suffering from soul-wrenching experience. I am quite impressed with Rose's earthly angels and yearn to emulate them.
