The author sure knows how to spin realities into love without any force. And yes the Church..... Story for another day..... Most Nigerians will understand.
This book gave me both the romance and the action. A combination of spicy scenes, suspense and romance. The author did a very good job with this.
I have read three of this author's work and I most say, she is just good. It was easy to relate with Captain Ebube and follow him to Somalia and back in to the arms of the woman he loves, Elizabeth.
Every Nigerian/African can relate to this story from page one to the last. Let me also say that the sex scenes are very explicit but we'll written.
BOOK: MANY WATERS AUTHOR: ROSEMARY OKAFOR PUB DATE: PUBLISHED 👩🏾❤️👨🏽👩🏾❤️👨🏽 REVIEW This is my first selar ebook purchase and my first Rosemary Okafor book and I'm glad with my pick. I enjoyed the characters, the setting, the storyline and the author's writing. 👩🏾❤️👨🏽👩🏾❤️👨🏽 I liked Ebube, he was so cute and he was a wonderful love interest. He knew what he wanted and went after it, no side play or anything. I liked his directness and everything else about him😂. 👩🏾❤️👨🏽👩🏾❤️👨🏽 For Elizabeth, she has gone through a lot of bad relationships and she still was not scared to put her heart out there. I liked her occupation and her drive to be independent and not depend on her parents. I admired her strength when Ebube went MIA. Let me just say I can never get involved with a military man. 👩🏾❤️👨🏽👩🏾❤️👨🏽 Elizabeth and Ebube's relationship was very unique because of Ebube's job as a Navy officer. The author's description of his job was very realistic and I liked it. I think this is the first time I'll be reading about something like this. During the course of their relationship, Ebube was sent on missions after missions. Hence, the long distance relationship. But, I was still able to feel their raw and honest feelings 👩🏾❤️👨🏽👩🏾❤️👨🏽 I would have wanted Elizabeth and Ebube to have more time together, but I appreciated how realistic it was because I feel like most military romances and relationships are like this. 👩🏾❤️👨🏽👩🏾❤️👨🏽 There was a hint of danger that merged our MCs and I liked reading it and guessing who it was. Coupled with Ebube's dangerous missions. 👩🏾❤️👨🏽👩🏾❤️👨🏽 One of the things I don't like about this book was Ebube's daughter. I didn't really feel her presence at all and I also wanted for her and Elizabeth to meet, but they didn't. The ending too, whiles it's a HEA, I wanted it with the whole family, old and new. But it was only an Elizabeth and Ebube ending. I wanted to meet Elizabeth's dad too. 👩🏾❤️👨🏽👩🏾❤️👨🏽 All in all the book was very good and I liked most of the components. I would definitely be reading more by this author. You should read this book too, you would fall in love with Elizabeth and Ebube like I did. 👩🏾❤️👨🏽👩🏾❤️👨🏽
This novel delivers an exhilarating mix of romance and action, anchored by emotionally rich characters and a plot that pulses with strength, commitment, and sacrifice. At its heart is Captain Ebube—a soldier with a heavy past, a haunted present, and a future that seems just out of reach. His transfer to Port Harcourt isn’t meant to include love, but fate has other plans. Elizabeth, who’s endured three failed relationships, is done with love—until a charming stranger plays her a song and changes the rhythm of her life. Their bond forms gently but quickly, only to be tested by the sudden return of duty and the shadow of an old enemy. The stakes rise as both must fight not just for survival, but to protect a love still in its infancy. This book doesn’t just tell a love story—it dives into themes of grief, faith, second chances, and redemption, making the romance all the more powerful. Ebube’s character is especially compelling; his resilience after surviving three near-death experiences in Somalia is inspiring, and his vulnerability adds depth to the hero archetype. Elizabeth, too, is no damsel—her strength and stubbornness match Ebube’s resolve, making them a dynamic and believable pair. What stands out is the seamless weaving of intense action with emotional intimacy. The pacing is sharp, the tension real, and the emotional beats land with sincerity. It’s a rare gem in romantic fiction—where love is not just about chemistry, but about fighting through pain, past trauma, and looming danger. A compelling read for fans of military romance with real emotional stakes—this book delivers both heart-pounding action and heartfelt connection.
_Many Waters_ is a beautiful, emotional read! 😍 Ebube and Elizabeth’s love story is full of strength, commitment, and sacrifice 💕. Ebube’s resilience, especially after surviving three near-death experiences in Somalia, makes him a standout character 💪.
The chemistry between him and Elizabeth when they first meet in church is undeniable 🔥, and their bond only deepens from there 💗. Elizabeth goes through a lot, from pregnancy to facing death threats from the psycho Henry 😱, but her strength is inspiring 💪.
Josh’s support during the birth of the twins was heartwarming too ❤️. I was frustrated with Oge and Elizabeth’s mom when they told her to move on from Ebube 🙄, abegi .
The corruption subplot added a lot of tension , and I loved how Ebube called Elizabeth "cupcake" 🍰; it was just sweet 😊. The moment Felix said Ebube was dead, even though I knew he wasn’t , had me emotional 😂💔.
Favorite quote: "You were mine even from the first day I met you." 💗 That line got me! Overall, _Many Waters_ is a powerful story about love, loyalty, and sacrifice 💯 and being a ph person all so added a lot 😊
Rosemary Okafor truly nailed it with this one 🙌. ❤️📚

This follows Elizabeth, who just got out of a breakup. She’s not expecting anything new until a charming stranger sings to her and changes everything with just a wink.
That stranger is Captain Ebube, a soldier with a painful past and a life full of responsibilities. He didn’t come to Port Harcourt looking for love, but meeting Elizabeth turns his world upside down. Just as their love begins to grow, duty calls him away and danger from his past returns, putting everything they’ve built at risk.
Rosemary Okafor brings these characters to life with such warmth and depth. Also the setting of Port Harcourt adds even more life to the story, making it vivid and relatable. This book isn’t just about romance, it’s about healing, fighting for love, and finding hope when you least expect it.
Should I also mention that it's also a thriller. Maybe I can say it a love thriller book. Also the writing style is so smooth.....☺
Ghen ghen ghen ghen!, I don't think I'll be able to unravel who Rosemary is as an author. She brings her A game all the time. If you think you've read Paradise from her and you loved it, no, read Many Waters and you'll have a lot more to love.
For me, I loved the infusion of Military, which by the way was written with such finesse with romance, the steamy kind o and still woven in such a beautiful manner made me love this book.
Ebube and Elizabeth's story is one for the books. It just shows that love can find you regardless, in the most unconventional way and will be willing to stay despite the odds.
Thumbs up for this novel and I really anticipate the next in its series.

I’m rating this book a 4.5/5 .. love it so much ❤️❤️
Have you ever been loved was one question I asked myself after reading this book. The love between the two main characters r in this book was one in a million.
How do you love someone so deeply after only being together for a few months? How do you love someone so much as to fight to escape death three times just to be with them? How do you love someone so much that you can’t move on even after it has been announced that he was already dead?
This book talked about love, love without judgement from the past, love where you can make mistakes and love that feels like home.
This was the first book I was reading after taking a hiatus from reading.
It follows the love story of Elizabeth who had been jilted severally by men and Captain Ebube who was smitten by her from when they met. The book was set in Port Harcourt and Somalia
In this story we see the intersection of duty, love, corruption, family, friendship. We see obsession which I felt added a new layer and perspective to the story.
I liked the yearning and the desire in this book I couldn’t understand how she hadn’t heard of Emergency contraception , I was so pissed at that not gonna lie.
I’ve been looking forward to reading a soldier love story written by a Nigerian and I wasn’t disappointed.

Captain Ebube is a very strong man!!!! I admire his resilience and his determination, though he's not perfect, I absolutely loved his character. And thank you, for our plus sized FMC that's not ashamed of herself.
Where do I even begin? This book completely swept me off my feet. The love story between Ebube and Elizabeth was everything;tender, intense, and utterly intoxicating. Elizabeth, in all her girly-girl glory, navigating the confusing yet thrilling waves of love at first sight and obsession, felt so real and relatable. It was like peeking into the heart of every girl who’s ever fallen hard and fast. But while many might be drawn to the romance (and rightfully so), what truly gripped me was the drama; the heavy suspense, the tension, and most of all, the chilling presence of that psychopath! The darkness, the twisted logic, the terrifying clarity,it was all so vividly captured. I also loved how diverse the characters were,I’ve read a few of the author’s books, and I’ve noticed she doesn’t stick to one mold, A soldier and a fish seller?! (Although Elizabeth insists she’s an aquaculturist…let her have her title!)
That said, the only thing I didn’t quite love was how some plot threads felt a bit unfinished. For example, the mission Ebube was originally investigating before Somalia: what happened to that? It felt like an important part of his journey that got left behind (and I hope to see it unfold in the other books of the series) Still, despite the missing pieces, this was a deeply moving and refreshing read. Rosemary Okafor has a way of writing that flows gently but cuts deep.
So, the amount of time I kept grinning from ear to ear anytime Ebube opened his mouth is honestly so unhealthy. I had to keep reminding myself, "Mimi, all these sweet talks are not for you ooo, biko."
I really enjoyed the dialogue between the MMC and the FMC in this book. It felt so natural—like I was actually listening to them talk in real life.
This book follows our sexy soldier Ebube, who falls in love at first sight with Elizabeth—a woman just getting out of a breakup with her boyfriend. The attraction, the chemistry between them was just so sweetttt, like licking a stick of Mango Rio pop.
While this book is romantic, it also explores themes like grief, second chances, faith, and even redemption. Well, I might as well add that this book is spicy👀 (I'm really curious to know what goes on in Rosemary Okafor’s mind… lol).
While I really enjoyed reading this book, I had just a little issue with the plot twist at the end (no spoilers though!).
I rated this book 4 stars, and am I recommending it? Yessssssssss!
