Just ended
The story stalled at the end we never find out what happens with her boss and the other bad guys the ones that are working with her jerk of a boss. Spoilers! We get there happy ending with them having kids and a great future for them then the beginning of the next book we just don't get any closure of what happens with the codes and her boss and where the money is. Frustrating ending.

This is another great read for the series and it's packed with suspense, drama, danger, bad guys and steamy romance. I liked the characters and the plot definitely made this a page turning read :D

Serena Meadows has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Darcey and Brian. Darcey is Mr. Templeton's assistant and she doesn't like her job. She knows she needs to keep it for a few more days if possible. Mr. Templeton wants her to take his dietary restrictions down to the kitchen manager so that it would be right. Things don't go well for her when she meets Brian for the first time. Things happen to Darcey and Brian is the one who is there to help her. Mr. Templeton gets mad when Brian stops him from helping Darcey. Brian knows what he was planning to do to Darcey. Darcey has to go to the ranch with Mr. Templeton and the rest of the group but she tries to stay away from Mr. Templeton. The group is going for a horseback ride and Darcey stays with the other women on the ride. Mandy and Darcey go berry picking while the men are talking. Mandy ends up leaving Darcey alone and when she is on her way back to the group, Mr. Templeton blocks her in and tries to rape her. Brian goes to look for Darcey but he is told that she went to the ranch for a horseback ride. When Brian gets to where the group is, he starts looking for Darcey. He hears her scream and when he finds her, she is on the ground and Mr. Templeton is on top of her. It takes everything in him not to shift into his dragon and take care of Mr. Templeton. Brian throws Mr. Templeton off Darcey and goes to her. Meanwhile, Corey comes up and takes care of Mr. Templeton. Mr. Templeton is saying he is going to have Brian's job once he talks to the owners. Corey tells him good luck since Brian is one of the owners. Darcey knows that her job is over so she decides to do something to Mr. Templeton's business. She starts looking around and she finds that Mr. Templeton has been stealing money from the government with false contracts. She tells Brian what she has found and he tells her that they need to tell the rest of his family about what she found. Rick has heard some things that Mr. Templeton has said about what he is going to do to Darcey. Rick said that Mr. Templeton has put a contract out on Darcey and wanted her computer too. Brian wants to know if she can find out who is after her. She tells him she can't but she might know of someone who could. Darcey calls Wes and tells him what she needs. He tells her that he could be to her in just a few hours. She tells him that she is fine and well protected. While she is talking to Wes, Brian is there and he is getting upset with the way that Wes is talking to her. She tells him that she needs the information as fast as she can get it. He tells her that it will take a couple of hours and he would get back to her. While waiting on Wes to get back to her, Brian talks her into going somewhere safe. He takes her to his cabin. When Wes calls her back. the news is not good. He tells her that the guys coming after her are bad news. Darcey and Brian call his family and tell them what they have found out. They go over the plan again and Brian tells them that if things go wrong and Darcey is taken they all know where to go and he would be right behind them. There is a storm and something happens to the barn's roof. While Brian is out fixing it, Darcey goes to get some more wood for the fireplace. When she turns to go back inside, she is grabbed and taken. When she wakes up, she is not in their cabin. Mr. Templeton has her and he wants the code to the program she wrote. She tells him that she is not going to give it to him. She also tells him that Brian is going to kill him. Mr. Templeton tells her that he would be too late. Mr. Templeton cuts the ropes and Darcey makes a run for it. She makes it outside and goes for the woods. She hears Brian and looks up. She changes directions and runs toward Brian instead. This makes Mr. Templeton run after her again. Mr. Templeton doesn't notice Brian above him until it is too late. Brian hits him just a little and causes him to fall. This is when Mr. Templeton looks up and sees a dragon above him. Mr. Templeton is trying to get away from Brian but he can't.
Will Darcey and Brian get to have the life they want without looking over their shoulders?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

This is book six of the Cowboy Dragon’s Inn and the main characters are Brian Simmons, a dragon shifter and co-owner of the inn and nearby ranch, and Darcey Talbot, a security expert. Darcey has come with her boss, Mr Clarence Templeton, to attend business meetings and a conference he had arranged. Her boss had booked out the whole inn for him and his cronies to use and enjoy, before their other halves turned up later in the week. He harasses her at every turn and if she wanted, she could have tried him for sexual harassment many times over the ten long years she has worked for him. He is the CEO of a security agency and she is key to his business success and has to suffer his advances for just one week more, until she can get a big contract signed, then she can go and work for any security company she wants! When she finds he has left his wife behind for the week and expects her to fill and do everything she did, she knows he is going to be full on! Brian is having to pull double shifts to ensure everything gets done at the inn for all these guests, so when Darcey enters the kitchen to give him a list of Mr Templeton’s fussy dietary needs, he is not very polite and neither is she. Her boss insists on her wearing really high heels and clothing that reveals far too much for her to be comfortable!
Brian notices how uncomfortable she is when her boss gets too close at the dinner table and even slaps her bottom when she tries to get away from his grabbing hands and he is really angry. His anger caused a death of someone else when he was a teen and he has always blamed himself for it, rather than the drunken teens who decided to harass him that night. Seeing Darcey treated that way makes his temper rise and his control is hanging by a thread. When he approaches her and tries to see what she wants done about his harassment, she tells him to ignore it. He is trying to pressure her to do something about her boss’ harassment and she just needs to get this week over and done with. She and Brian get close and he makes sure to keep an eye on her and her boss. When he sees her drinking a shot, he thinks she is agreeing to the behaviour of her boss and wants to forget about her. But seeing her rush from the table straight after and her boss follow her, makes him think something isn’t right. It seems her boss has placed a wager with his friends about his guaranteed ability to finally get her in his bed and Darcey knows nothing of this. Seems her boss likes to play dirty!
He tries as many different ways as he can to get a key to her room and to check on her, but luckily Brian has that covered. He forces her to come horse riding with the rest of the group out on the ranch the dragon shifters run and again tries to get her in a compromising position. Brian takes her back to the ranch for safety, but that doesn’t stop Mr Templeton from trying to get at her still. Brian gets injured trying to save her from one attack and she finds out his true identity. She isn’t scared by his other identity as such and is more worried about him and his injuries. He had tried to tell her of the connection between them but hadn’t had a chance to tell her about his dragon. Her boss needs something she created and without her under his thumb, he starts to get desperate and makes ever increasing plays for her and what she has. It is time to fight back and luckily for her, Brian and his friends are all willing to help out as well to protect someone one of them loves. He thought he would accept the pull of his fated mate immediately, but their initial connection was marred by her boss and her desire to see out the week, then never see him again. Another story of one of the cowboy dragon shifters finding their fated mate and the dangerous hurdles they have to face, before they can be together forever. Always a HEA ending with a somewhat steamy romance amidst danger and the magic of shifting, along with a hint of the next story to come. When their old friend Dean died, he left his ranch and hotel to six boys that had gone through high school together and spent a lot of time on the ranch with Dean. The one stipulation is that the six boys restore the old hotel and fix up the ranch. Fast forward twelve years and the hotel is a success as well as the ranch.
Brian has watched as each of his friends has found their mates and married. He is feeling left out and not sure that he will ever find the one. But love appears when it is ready and Brian is caught totally unprepared!
Darcey has been working for her creepy boss for almost 10 years. She thinks if she helps him get this one last big contract that she will be free to quit and will be able to find work anywhere in the security field. Her boss has rented to entire hotel for the week for a big conference and Darcey can’t wait until it is over.
Sparks fly when Brian and Darcey first meet, but not in a good way. It seems every time they run into each other they end up arguing. 'Cowboy Dragon's Secret Promise' by Serena Meadows is the sixth book in her Cowboy Dragon's Inn series and tells the story of Brian Simmons, a dragon shifter and co-owner of the inn and nearby ranch, and Darcey Talbot, a security expert. Darcey's boss Mr. Templeton has rented Brian's inn for a security conference and as his assistant Darcey has to attend. Darcey doesn't like her job or her boss and is tired of the harassment and propositions she endures. But if she can help land a large contract she can finally quit and be able to apply to other companies. However, unbeknownst to Darcey her boss is determined to finally get her into bed this trip, by any means. He has even bet his associates on his success.
Brian is checking with the kitchen manager to make sure everything is set up for the conference attendees when Darcey walks into the kitchen. Darcey is in a bad mood having just found out Mr. Templeton's wife would not be attending the conference and she has to make sure his diet restrictions are followed and anything else Isobel takes care of. She sees Brian and assumes he is the chef and hands the list to him stating he better make sure it is followed or else. Brian can not believe Darcey's attitude but likes her looks. He was sure that that if and when he found his mate he was going to surrender gracefully and get to the good parts. It didn't quite work out that way. His first meeting with Darcy was when she sailed into his kitchen and looked at him disdainfully while she gave him instructions about her boss's nutritional needs, then she turned and left him staring after her as she sashayed away. He wasn't even sure what had just hit him until he saw her again later. He found he wasn't liking the way her boss was treating her.
Darcy was trying to keep it together as she did her best to avoid letting her boss touch her. She had been dismayed to find out that his wife was not joining him for the conference of security bigwigs. In fact, it appeared that none of the men had brought their wives though a few mistresses showed up. She was so close to getting her dream job. She just had to hold on a little longer and she would be able to ditch her current boss and move on to bigger things. She especially did not have time to figure out what it was about the hotel's chef that made her thingies so over when he was near. Even when he tried to warn her that her handsy boss was up to no good. She could handle herself without any help from, well, the help. But when the supposed cola drink was suddenly making her unsteady on her feet, she knew which of the two men she trusted to see her back to her room.

Darcey is stuck at a week-long conference with her disreputable boss. None of the men seem to have brought their wives, although they were not alone! While she still has a speech to write and changes on some proposals, her boss calls her to his hotel room to have to take a list of dietary restrictions to the kitchen manager. He comes out of his bathroom in nothing but a towel. She snatches the list and dashes out before he can grab her. She goes to the kitchen and meets Brian and he knows she is his mate.
Darcey has continually tried to avoid her boss, Mr. Templeton. But at dinner, he brought her a drink and had put something in it. Fortunately, Brian steps in to keep her safe. But he can’t understand why Darcey won’t do something to stop this guy. He’s dangerous! She refused Brian’s help. And on a trail ride later, her boss got her in the woods and attacked her. Brian stopped him before he succeeded in what he was about to do, but Brian was about to kill the man. Corey dragged Mr. Templeton away, swearing he would get “the kitchen help”, Brian, fired until Corey told him Brian was one of the owners. I give up. This is the last I will read in the series. Women are idiots, abused and putting up with it till big brave man comes along. I wanted to slap them, tell them to grow up, you don’t have to be a doormat. The men, supposedly no one is supposed to know they are shifters, but everyone in town seems to know. In one book the teenager (secret child) & her mother stop on the way to a music festival, which is mentioned multiple times as happening that week. Suddenly the kid knows all the kids her age after going out with a young rancher hand. She’s treated like a long lost friend by some, & incurs the wrath of one jealous of the guy. She goes to an overnight sleepover where they are taped talking about her being a daughter of one of the dragon shifters. Then she runs away! Hitching a ride with traffickers.
In another a bride catches the groom screwing a member of the bridal party, who she’s being forced to marry by an evil aunt.
In this one the girl takes all kinds of harassment from her boss to keep her job. Really, in this day and age she doesn’t grow a pair.
Wimpy women, mention of dragons with feathers, not scales that only appear in about a 10th of the story. Sorry kept hoping the series would get better, But too many doormats and not enough of the guys.
In another a bride catches the groom screwing a member of the bridal party, who she’s being forced to marry by an evil aunt.

Darcey is with her boss for a week long conference at the hotel. With all the work he piled on her, now she has to take care of his diet needs, but one look at the kitchen manager does crazy things to Darcey. But she can’t think of Brian, Darcey has to worry about her rude, and nasty boss pawing at her, while doing her work and she plans to keep her distance from him. Until one night at dinner when her boss got her a drink and she realized later he put something in it and from then on things between her and her boss become very dangerous, while things between her and Brian became an inferno.

She hated her boss Clarence Templeton who insisted she dress in a certain way and wore very high heels which hurt her feet and constantly harassed her. she had been hoping his wife would be attending but found she was not which meant that there would be no curbing his behavior. Dragon shifter Brian was the chef and part owner of the hotel had met Darcey when she gave him a list if her boss's dietary restrictions and felt drawn to her then later witnesses harassing her at the table and her repulsing his advances and slapping her butt as she gets up and walks away. But what he overhears the next day as the men play poker makes him realizes Darcey is in danger.

Brian is one of the owners of the local hotel and ranch, Darcey is at the hotel for a work function. She works in security, but she puts up with a lot from the men she works with especially her boss.
When they meet, neither are in a good mood due to their jobs but they are instantly attracted to each other. Brian realises that she is his fated mate, but doesn't want to tell her about his shifter side that he hides because of an accident when he was a teen.
But Brian knows that he needs to keep an eye on Darcey after finding out what her boss is planning for her. But when things go wrong, will Brian be able to get to Darcey in time to save her and will she be able to accept his secret.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend reading it. It is part of a series but can be read on its own.

Brian is part owner in the Inn and ranch nearby, pitching in when they have a large group staying there. Darcey works for the CEO and organized the convention. The men will not have their spouses with them until later in the week, so she is being harassed plenty by her boss and his friends. Brian watches and tries to intervene when possible, to protect her, who he now knows is his mate. The characters are well developed, with determination, great dialogue and backstories. The storyline was well written with plenty of drama, danger, surprises, secrets, bets, conniving boss, injuries and protection. Loved how calm Darcey is when the truth of Brian comes out and they change their relationship. Great double surprise ending.

Another phenomenal Cowboy Dragon Inn story!
This book rocks! The next one of the guys to get his happy ending is Brian and what a tale it is! He first meets Darcey when she enters his kitchen being very bossy. He won’t be able to resist her and soon it’s plain to see that she’s in trouble. Her boss is a bit of a jerk and she’s been fending off his advances for years. This time he will take it a step too far and Brian will be there to save her. He will have to jump in again another time or two but when he reveals his true self and his true feelings, Darcey is totally on board. One final showdown will bring them the peace they need to take the next step forward to their forever.

When Darcey and her boss, Mr Temperance as well as some of his cronies go on a business trip to the Silver Heels Hotel in Alma, the last thing she expects is to need rescuing by Brian, who is one of the owners, especially as their first encounter wasn't the best! Despite the way they met he knew instantly that she was his mate but how will she react when she learns his secret?
The story flows well, the characters are well-drawn and for the most part likeable although there are obvious exceptions to this. I enjoyed the mix of action, romance, palpable chemistry and the steam the author wove into the story but I have to warn you that this one does end in a cliffhanger, that said I would recommend it to fans of this genre.

This is the sixth book in the Cowboy Dragon's Inn series. You can read it as a standalone, but you will come across previous characters from and possible spoilers for the other books. I recommend grabbing the other books, this series has been so much fun to read. Brian is the last single dragon shifter on the ranch. After watching his five best friends fall for their mates, he's decides that he won't fight falling in love when his time comes but it turns out its easier said than done. Turns out this mate Darcy is very independent and stubborn. Can he keep her safe and will she accept Brian's dragon shifter side?

Each book is as good as the first. I read each book quickly, not wanting to put them down until I’ve read every word.

Sometimes it's nice to relax with a sweet and a little naive love story.
The characters are very cute and it's easy to imagine their love story right from the start.
It is a short story that can be read easily and that for a few hours can distract from real life. I very much appreciated the sweetness of the feelings described.

We start out following Darcy. Who and where is she? What does she do for work? Who are Isobel and Clarence? How does Darcy know them? What happens that makes Darcy angry? Who is Brian and why is he so angry? What happens when he and Darcy meet? I cannot stand Clarence or the women that are there other than Darcy. What happens when Brian keeps Darcy at the ranch? Who is Wes and why does Brian get jealous? What does Wes offer to do? Oh, there are some real surprises in this story! You have to read this story!

Darcy works for a jerk! They go to a convention at the resort where Brian is a part owner. He talks to her trying to get he away from his boss. She feels a tingling when they are together and Brian knows that she is his fated mate. Brian saves her from the bossh*le. The chemistry between the two is off the charts. I loved this story and so far every book in the series. They all are just easy reads because they are so entertaining. Great book in a great series.

This engaging Book 6 in The Cowboy Dragons Inn Book Series has a steamy standalone shifter romance story with a strong, sexy, alpha shifter boss and his beautiful, employee and soon to be pregnant human mate. This was a well written book with characters that are well constructed with intense histories, unique personalities and realistic interactions. This has a intriguing story and has an element of suspense, danger and secrets. The characters are well constructed where the characters grow throughout the story.

This is already book 6 in this series and tells the story of Brian and Darcey. She tries to avoid her boss with his grasping hands, until things get really out of hand. Brian is one of the owners of the Inn and notices how uncomfortable she is when her boss gets too close to the dining table and even slaps her butt as she tries to get away from his grasping hands and he is really mad.
This story has drama, suspense, a violent boss, action, trust issues and lots of steam. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can only recommend it with great pleasure.

Typical read for the series
The one thing I don't understand is why go to the cabin as a safe place if everyone gets there so easily and why is it that all the bad guys know where this cabin in the woods on their property is located? Is there a beacon? Just how most of the stories in this series end up. I abhor men who think they are all that because they have money and this story has that mentality in spades. The ending was pretty good! What a great surprise for the happy couple!

Cowboy Dragon’s Secret Promise is book six in the series Cowboy Dragon’s Inn by author Serena Meadows. This one is a fast paced adventure of the good guys against the bad guys. The MFC needs to learn to trust herself and others and the MMC needs to learn to let go.

I liked this story because it shows how someone’s innocent mistake can cause a lifetime of self-hatred and that it takes a special person to get them through their problems. I like how Brian continually saved Darcey before he knew she was his mate and how it blossomed from there. I also loved how Darcey accepted Brian after learning his secrets. A book to show that love conquers all.
