KNIGHT IN COWBOY BOOTS
While the story is part of the Old-Fashioned Cowboy series, the way that Ashley Harrison and Justin Anderson meet won't be at Discipline Ranch. Justin has gone to enjoy a drink or two, and a rowdy bunch of girls comes into the bar. When the group of women forces one on top of a table, telling her to dance, Justin and Nick take matters into their hands. The other girls will abandon Ashley she is riding with, and Justin takes her to a back room and spanks her. It turns out that Ashley is not twenty-one yet, and at present, in-between places to stay.
Justin takes Ashley home with him for the weekend, and the relationship between these two is the beginning of a Daddy-Dom/little girl. Ashley has never explored kink, but letting the words Daddy fall from her lips just happens. Dressing and acting the part places her in the mindset of a Little, and Justin is willing to explore with her—since it is a deep-rooted fantasy come true.

It seems that Justin is going to find the Little Girl that he's wanted for so long. But Ashley is completely new to his lifestyle and sometimes finds it difficult, which causes no end of trouble.
Commentary: So many of the DDlg books I've read take place in a nearly-closed made-up place that exists only for this lifestyle - Shanna Handel, Laylah Roberts, and others - there are towns, compounds, ranches. It's kind of funny and I wonder if that exists in real life. It seems unlikely.
But anyways, I liked the push-pull in this one because it wasn't due to problems with the couple, per se, but rather with an unfamiliarity with the lifestyle. That made it an easy fix, although Justin had me worried at the end there when he left Ashley at her sister's place.

Justin is not satisfied with his life anymore. He enjoys his job at Discipline Ranch, but he wants more. He gets more when he meets Ashley. Ashley is young and when she meets Justin, she is overwhelmed. She wants him, but enough to be his little girl? After lots of misunderstandings and spankings, Ashley realizes that being Justin's little girl is just what she wants.
This is a great addition to the Old-fashioned Cowboys series. Everything happens pretty quickly, but it all works out in the end.

Justin likes his job at Discipline Ranch but wants more. He meets Ashley and sparks fly; he takes her back to the ranch to learn about being a little. Will Ashley discover that she is the little girl Justin has been looking for? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, emotion and steam. A good read.

Quick Summary
Justin is a Dom at Discipline Ranch and although very popular with the lady customers, he has started to feel a little burned out. The short flings he's had are just not satisfying him anymore. And if might have something to do with the fact that both his boss and his friend/co-worker have found their other halves in the form of Littles. Being a Daddy and having a Little of his own has been a secret fantasy of his for a long while. Knowing that once he committed, it would be hard to go back to being a Dom and not a Daddy has kept Justin's inner Daddy locked up tight.
When he rescues Ashley from a bully/peer pressure situation at the local bar, he's shocked at how responsive she is and how quickly his own dominate Daddy instincts come to the forefront with her.
Ashley is a shy, curious Little who is a newbie to the lifestyle. Everything she knows about the kink is what Justin has taught her and I think that's what worked against their love story.
Ashley is young and naïve about the lifestyle but also bold and sassy when the mood strikes her. Trying to go outside her comfort zone leads her to accepting Justin's proposition to go home with him, literally minutes after meeting him. It didn't make a lot of sense for her to let her guard down so easily or so quickly. Which explains why everytime something spooked her, her flight response kicked in.
It also didn't help that Justin is a much more stern disciplinary Daddy than I like or am used to. His inner dialogue tells you he feels compassion and affection for Ashley but he never acts on those feelings. It's all very all or nothing with him and I found that cold attitude hard to warm up. Especially since he knows how vanilla she was and that their high speed FwB thing was new and confusing for her. I wanted him to be more understanding and more willing to communicate about what they were to each other, not just issue orders and state "Daddy knows best". That level of trust needs to be earned and there just wasn't enough page time between the MCS for that level of commitment.
This story definitely focuses more on the spankings and punishments then the romance or softer, after care themes that I'm used to reading in DDlg books. This also wasn't a full on age-regression, Daddy and Little book. Ashley and Justin are more into the role play (of a middle and her daddy, at best) and only during sexual situations.
This reminded me a lot of On His Ranch because both couples jump head first into intense relationships with no real build up and ultimately the story fell flat because it was missing that emotional connection, separate from the sexual to make it a real love story and not just taboo or kinky sex. The H comes off as controlling and borderline abusive and the h as weak and brainwashed.
If you like sobbing, thrashing spankings and a growly stickler for his way or the high way, this book might be more enjoyable. It was missing that special deeper connection for me so only two stars from me.

this is one of the worst books i've ever read, and if you've seen my extensive list of one and two star GoodReads reviews, you know that's really saying something.
this book is hardcore dubious consent, i think without even realizing that's what's happening.
our FMC is given NO safeword.
there is NO real discussion of BDSM scenes or what they are fine with (boundaries, triggers, etc).
our MMC is supposed to be a 'daddy dom' and i think this is one of the most offensive readings of a daddy dom that i've ever read. the dynamic is off, and there is absolutely nothing here that reads as well researched or romantic.
for the MMC this seems to be about 'discipline' more than anything else, because the dude is disciplining the FMC over EVERYTHING. he disciplines her when she doesn't deserve it. he disciplines her instead of actually speaking to her. the FMC isn't allowed her own feelings or opinions about anything, it seems, because if she shows any she's disciplined.
this book was so bad and is an awful representation of this branch of BDSM.
if you want a daddy dom book, stick with Laylah Roberts.

This is a wonderful story by Dinah McLeod. i really enjoy reading anything by her. I really enjoyed the interactions between Ashley and Justin. I have enjoyed this series from the beginning. I loved every second of the story. I couldn't wait to see what happened next between these two.
Ashley need rescuing in a bar after her coworkers wouldn't listen to her. She also shouldn't have been in there to begin with. Justin knows just to do keep punish this naughty girl though. He offers her a place to stay and an opportunity to explore her Little side. Ashley never knew she had a Little but something clicks for her. It wasn't always easy and they had their ups and downs. Will they have a happily ever after together?

This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Ashley learns quite a bit there too. That something you might think of as weird just might be what puts someone else in their safe, happy place. This was a really fun read about two people who find each other in a bar and quickly discover they have a connection they weren’t expecting. Justin was a Dom looking for his little and Ashley was unknowingly a little just finding out she needed a Daddy. It’s as if they were fated to meet. This is a loving D/l romance with a very strict/stern Daddy and a willing/learning little. Lots of romance, lots of spankings, lots of sex and LOTS of fun. 4 Stars for sure!

Heartwarming
I loved this book! It does such a great job of explaining how the deep need to belong to someone who protects and cares for you, may be satisfied by that someone having a firm hand and caring enough to keep them safe from their worst impulses. It was erotic and yet the overriding theme was love and making the beloved feel safe. The writing was wonderful and I enjoyed every word!

Yeah I liked this one. It's interesting. The characters are real and rounded. Justin is fed up with his life and looking for something. Ashley is a sweet girl trying to survive. She does not know what she is looking for. Their relationship takes time and has bumps but their chemistry is undeniable.I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I highly recommend it. This is a very well written story that is very well worth reading.

I'm torn between a 3.7 start and a 4 star. This book was good. I was a lil worried after reading the reviews that I wouldn't like the H. But I loved Justin! His character was amazing. Now Ashley I liked at the beginning but as the book went on she turned into a true brat. Other than that it was a good read but idk I think she needs to be less whiny and listen once in awhile.

I liked it! The main characters met in an unlikely circumstances but they clicked on immediately. Age gap play with light daddy's elements. It's enjoyable. Would have been even better with a quicker pace of the events but all in all it's good.

I absolutely loved the interactions between this cowboy and his little girl. Misunderstandings and new rules lead to a very red behind, but in the end it all boils down to a matter of trust and a lot of love. Excellent story.

This was such a wonderful love story. I enjoyed it very much. The storyline was spot on and was well executed. You have action, drama and adventure and love all in one book. loved the characters, I enjoyed this book can't wait for their next one. I recommend it.
