The local newspaper receives a letter threatening the city’s female citizens. That’s disturbing enough, but when the author reveals himself, the news is what nightmares are made of. His moniker alone will paralyze Savannah if word gets out.
Detective Mitch Cannon and the entire police force take over and try to learn more. Is the letter authentic or a hoax? Is the author truly who they think he is or a copycat, and if his murderous threats are real, how will they know without a body?
As the news leaks, the media jumps on board and creates a firestorm of fear throughout Chatham County. Has an infamous killer who’s never been caught resurfaced after a thirty-year nap? Detective Cannon’s worst fear may be coming true—the Savannah Slasher is finally waking up.

C.M. Sutter was born in San Jose, California and split time between the sunny California coast and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a senior in high school, she chose Wisconsin as her permanent address. After many years in the Badger State, she decided on a warmer year-round climate to call home and moved south. Years of progression took her from working in large companies, to twelve years as a massage therapist, and finally, owning a corporation. She has been self-employed for over twenty years. Ms. Sutter has been writing and self-publishing since 2014 with eleven titles published in a different genre. Because of her deep interest in crime and thriller novels, she took up writing in the police procedural/crime thriller genre in 2016.
Another book in the series I couldn’t put down! In this book, detectives investigate if the Savannah Slasher is back 30 years after his killings, or if there is a copy at at play wreaking havoc on their town Savannah. Highly recommend for a quick thriller read! Read #1 first though before this!

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. More of Mitch Cannon from E. M. Sutter. Does not need to be read in order. Even though GR shows 2 books in this series, there are 5.
Spoilers ahead. Pros: Easy to read and follow. This is a fast read and can be finished in a few hours, not a knock. Cons: A bit simplistic and a few small things don't make sense.
A serial killer resurfaces after a few decades. Mitch and the Savannah PD goes through detective protocol to find the killer (sorta).
I didn't like it that we saw the story also from the killer's POV. I think it would have been much better only to see it from Mitch's POV. I mean, a lot of the mystery is gone and you don't really get any suspense. Not sure why the author does it this way.
The dialog is not the best either. Some of it is inane, some repetitive (like multiple people saying "you bet" when that entire sequence isn't even needed. Yea, a lot of small unnecessary dialog. Some interactions were unnecessary as well. Character development is a bit lite. The ending is also a bit of a cop out and could have been done better. I just hope the author gets better with experience.
Overall I would call this lite detective homicide. It really isn't a 4 star but GR doesn't allow halves.
Fight For Your Life is the second nail biting book written in C. M. Sutter in the Detective Mitch Cannon Savannah Heat Thriller series. This story is active from the opening and never gets boring. Each page will bring more suspense, murder, and head scratching until the end. When a copy cat decides to take up the identity of the Savannah Slashers from 27 years prior he sets the price department and the city on high alert. Detective Mitch Cannon and Detective Devon The along with the entire police department are hot on the killers trail but not before he kills two unsuspecting young women's lives. When Detective Cannon gets attack his sister Marie catches a break and a big clue who the copycat is. The ending is definitely a jaw dropping one. I enjoyed this story with all the suspense, drama, and fact finding. It is just incredible.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.
This book pretty much had me from the beginning. I really didn't wat to out the book down. But with having 2 kids, I had to. But I still finished it in less than 48 hours. It was a super good read. This is the second book in the series. I'd suggest reading the first book. Even though it is a different storyline, they still mention things from book one. One thing I noticed about this writer, is that she has a lot of her characters say "you bet" a lot. 🤣🤣 it was kind of annoying. I also noticed that this authors books are predictable. The first book I predicted what was going on and this one I also predicted some.
Grab a bag of popcorn and your favorite chair and sit down for a ride. Chasing after a serial killer is exhausting! Long hours, vague clues, numerous rabbit trails abound as Detective Mitch searches for a woman killer.
As the reader, we know who the killer is. And many times I hollered out clues so Detective Mitch could discover him, but my voice wasn’t heard. I did try. And in the end, Detective Mitch figures it out.
Second book in this series about Detective Mitch Cannon. This time a copycat serial killer is on the loose, killing women of Savannah, Georgia. At times it felt like too much detail was given for the murders, but it kept my attention. The ending also felt a little weird, but maybe it’s a precursor to the next book in the series.

I thought the first book was awesome, well this one is even better. I couldn't put it down either. You will enjoy all of the book series C M Sutter has written. She is very good at what she does.
This is another ten star book you floored me with the ending you are one terrific author I can not wait for the next one to come out I highly recommend this book to everyone and all of your other books Dorothy Schaefer
Liked the first in the series better. This seemed to drag on a little bit. Too much repetition in the dialogue. However, I did like the ending. I will read the next in the series when available.
Great sequel to a new series! Detective Mitch Cannon and his team pursue a serial killer that's been inactive in Savanah for almost three decades. The killer is taunting them, but can they find him in time?
Another thriller set in the Hostess City, Savannah. Mitch Cannon and his colleagues set out to solve the mystery of the Savannah Slasher. Has he resurfaced after a thirty year absence or is it a copycat.
It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t too creative either. It was your typical crime novel and the ending was kind of predictable. Also the only thing the singular female character does in this book is cook food for the main character.
Enjoyed every minute of this book. Kept me on my toes never knowing when the slasher would strike again. Looking forward to the next book. Hope you enjoy this series. Ty C.M.
Fast paced. Interesting characters. Good glimpse into the confusing world of crime solving. Believable characters and a surprising and satisfying ending.
This is the second nail biting thriller in the detective Mitch Cannon series. It have me hooked from page 1. I truly enjoyed every nail biting second of this book.
I really enjoyed this mystery thriller. I enjoyed the characters and the surprising ending. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series.
