I liked this book, but coming from another plus size girly, Keely literally had no backbone and it frustrated tf out of me!! How are you going to fall in love with a man who embarrassed you, degraded you, and made fun of your biggest insecurity like that? And just took his bullshit excuses about why he was so damn mean to you? “Oh it’s because I liked you and you didn’t want me” brooooo, FUCK JAMES💯
Did I spend money on a pay by chapter site to read this? Yes, yes I did. Should you? Absolutely not.
1. I hate bully romances. Especially REALLY IMMATURE BULLY ROMANCES. calling her fat, piggy, a whale?! And she falls for him? What? No. 2. I understand this book was about a high school romance, but was it also written BY a high schooler? Because it felt like it. 3. There was no rhyme or reason for anything. The same things just kept being repeated over and over as if we hadn't already read it 56 times.
This book was a hate read. And I hate myself for finishing it. Deleting this app now 😂
The grammar was really awkward at times. There were a few funny lines though maybe unintentionally. I suspect this was written by someone who knows English as a second language. Probably Indian judging from the pen name.
Essentially YA with some kissing and fade to black at the end.
Bully romance Short plus size 18 year old girl in the last year of high school Bully football player who makes fun of her weight They go to school classes and a few parties. There’s a carnival scene. Nothing too deep. Unfortunately the scene in the ad for the book where she sits on his lap and he says “I needed this” is not actually in the book.
I think this needed more grovel and more spice. It reminded me of the book movies Through My Window, My Fault, and the After series with the toxicity. The writing is very Wattpad or rather Galatea. Though I read this as a paperback.
I actually can’t believe I read this cause I was this bored??? What is the title?? Why did I finish all 450 pages in 6 hours?? I don’t know😔 I feel like I just put myself through physiological torture. Why is the writing so choppy??? Please I think I’m going crazy. How did I even find this book??? Save me someone.
I will not justify what books I decide to start at 1 pm and then finish by the next morning, but let's make it clear that bully romances aren't my usual genry of choice. What do you mean you were into the main girl from the moment you first saw her and that's why your instinct was to call her "piggy" and "whale"? I think three year olds have more emotional intelligence. Now, I can't fault the book for this because I knew before going in that it was a bully romance, but still, you know (I can fault the book for mixing up the gender of everyone's pronouns for 50% of the book, unless everyone happened to be non-binary). I am not surprised that when they have sex it turns out the dude is into biting, that is the most in character decision in the entire book.
Mam dość używania wątków znęcania spłycanych do „Lubie cb i chce twojej uwagi 🥺🥺” mogliśmy dostać licealny romans z dużą główną bohaterką a dostaliśmy kurwa to.
Never read a more upsetting book. He literally called her piggy every time he saw her and has no redeeming qualities but she managed to end up liking him idk man
yes, i read this from an instagram ad. no, it wasn’t good, and the scene from the ad wasn’t even in the book. yes, i read it all in one sitting. don’t judge me - i’m going through something. 1 star but +1 for the surprise lesbians. also the pronoun mixups were sending me. his bullying was fr unforgivable, but if you scratch the first half of the book the second half was okay. i think he should’ve been more pathetic tho.
The main character had no backbone, but I completely understood why... why she wouldn't stand up to tormentors. How she thrived on negative thoughts and energy. Why she had slef doubt and low self-esteem. Me too, girl, me too.
This is one of the best books I’ve read on GALATEA. The writing is good, the editing is good, and the characters are terrific. Even James, who was a complete asshat the first 2/3 of the book was endearing. I absolutely fell in love with him and Keily as a couple. I was so happy she gave him a second chance, no one would have blamed her if she hadn’t. For all of her so-called ‘pushover’ moments, she really had extraordinary strength. The supporting cast was terrific also. I like to think of Lucas as Keily’s best friend also now, not just James. Or maybe like an older, very protective, brother of hers. Their relationship is super special and in no way takes away from her relationship with James. The dynamic of the three of them was so very well written. I do wish the final scene was more fleshed out - no pun intended. I don’t necessarily mean more graphic, but her allowing herself to be completely free with him was such a pinnacle in her life more attention should’ve been spent on it. I also wish we got some chapters from James’s POV. I’m dying to see inside his head. That being said this is definitely a reread for me. The feels I got!!!

What the fuck was this it was good but then bad bro roller-coaster of emotions over the main character had no backbone and James kept calling her piggy the show was much better it would have been better if this girl actually had the guts to stand up for herself or like Addison said PUNCH HIM i love Addison she was French kiss perfect girl!! Hope the second one is sorta better!!

Dude I get this is like online stories ig throws at ppl to read at but oh my god it’s so bad. I fully finished it and it doesn’t get better. Keily has zero backbone, gets treated like shit, and does nothing but blush and screw herself over. Her friends are all shit- all of them- for doing literally nothing but encouraging Keily to get with the worst body shaming bully possible.
Worst part? There’s zero grammar in this book. Every other sentence they’ll mix up pronouns or make no sense. It’s clear there isn’t any revisions that a one time write through. If it wasn’t for the crazy mistakes I’d genuinely assume this was a ChatGPT written novel. I was able to a pdf copy and it might’ve been because of it but it was random fonts, sizes, and paragraph breaks between each sentence. Often using <<>> instead of “” and it was difficult to understand when it was talking verbally or Keily’s thoughts. Like a huge topic of the book is football- and at one point they straight up said soccer instead of football… after a chapter of them describing the actions like tackling people hard constantly during football… not exactly a soccer thing… The worst part is the grammar only gets WORSE as the story goes on. From improper grammar to full on sentences not making sense.
This book is the closest I’ve ever gotten to a DNF and I have never done that for anything in my LIFE man. At one point when the Keily was getting picked on, she straight up was like- welp. Nothing can be as bad as James, to which he was PROUD? OF THAT? and then he’s like you’re mine immediately after. So Keily retorted what if she doesn’t want to be and word for word this mf said, “then I will force you”. I added the part below, with the same grammar.
"And no one here can match you when it comes to causing me trouble."
"Good," he said, amused. "No one should equal me. I'm the only one who has the right to bother you. I won't let anyone else do it."
I frowned.
He leaned forward and smiled. "I'm the only one who can annoy you, disrupt you, and possess you. You're mine, Keily."
My body lit up, my cheeks definitely looked like ripe tomatoes. "And... what if I don't want to be yours?"
"Then I will force you." He smiled, his white canines gleaming like those of a predator. He teased me so much. And he liked it. ~ We can't get the stalker out of this guy. ~
I have read about 2/3rd of this and stopped because I couldn't stand it anymore. Usually I don't even pick up stuff like this, but I keep seeing this promotional quote on tiktok, about her sitting on his lap and it peaked my interest. It was from the refined version of this though, this seems like a wattpad version, and the promotion was from a three book series on app called Galatea, that I read 6 chapters in and dropped at the point where MC showed up at a party in lingerie only?? That didn't happen in this version, and it was while she still thought that ML hates her, so idk if it happened much later here. MC has no back bone, blushes 80% of the time, and somehow is into the guy that insults and threatens her, that she is terrified of at the same time? Yeah sure. And she can't stop looking at him even though she is terrified every time he catches her doing it 🙄 I dislike all the parents in this book, mostly the MC parents, as they fell in love with the ML at first sight, didn't see that their daughter feelt very uncomfortable around him. ML was angry at MC that she was hurt by his insults, only changed his tune when another guy hit him?? I don't know if it happened later, but he didn't really apologize for his behaviour in what I read, only declared that he wants her and will "up his game" so she likes him.

this book was so wattpad coded, i used to read these kinda books when i was 15 and maybe then i would have liked it.
i guess it was translated from another language because the grammar was so off and i only kept reading it in the hopes that it might get better.
when you deal with such severe issues like bullying and fat shaming, it’s important to address them correctly and be smart about how you portray them for the world, which this book definitely did not do.
the author probably had zero experience writing about such topics and it was so evident. they barely scratched the surface and it was low-key disappointing.
(mild spoiler) i expected her to at least grow some backbone by the end of the book and start loving herself more for who she is. but no, there was just a stupid closed door spice scene and she forgot all his insults a bit too easily and now she started loving her body because her boyfriend had sex w her. james haynes ain’t cardan greenbrier (the cruel prince by holly black reference) he should have suffered more.
i hated how she always based her self esteem on other’s approval. i understand it can be difficult and as someone who has faced body shaming on multiple occasions myself, i pity her sm.
* read on Galatea app (unlocks chapters every 6 hours for free)
* Hero(s) - 1/5 James was not likeable at all. Does not matter how rich and hot he is, he was so horrible to Keily and even after the personality change over one chapter to other, he was just bland and boring * Heroine(s) - 1/5 such a doormat... she was annoying most of the time * Secondary Characters - 2/5 felt like they were only there to move along the main characters
* Plot/Storyline - 2/5 It had potential, but the characters acted like they were 12 instead of 18. idk * Romance/Steam - 1/5 Even after the big change in behaviour and confessions I just don't feel any chemistry or love between James and Keily * Drama/Conflict/Angst - 2/5 Started out fine, but the last few chapters were too much * Worldbuilding/Atmosphere - 3/5
* Writing Style - 2/5 needs some improvement, but it was enjoyable.
The first bit of the book wasnt too great. The chapters are short and I think there could have been more to some parts. The best part I felt was when Keily and her cousin and friends talked about their insecurities. The whole, bullying someone bc you like them is such an old trope that I think the one conversation between Keily and James could have occured earlier in the story. And maybe have that lead them having to work stuff out a lot more. I'm not sure why I read the book. I didn't read the last chapter as I didn't feel there was a need and I don't think I'll read the others. There really could have been so much more this story could have added to it. I rarely read anything romance. There's never a good story aside from cliche moments. I did like the girl talk moment though. That was a good example of a real moment.

Overall/End-result good typical highschool story. Highschool boy basically acts like a (toddler) brat when the girl he’s (bullying) pulling her pig-tails won’t play with him…lol, yet he has a major crush on her…ya know, teenage angst on both ends ❤️ 😂 BUT is awesome how they end up protecting each other 💙🖤💙🖤💙 And what teenage girl doesn’t have her own self-demons to deal with never mind other kids being a**holes on top of it?!!? Good characters too, well minus the 4 creepers…but they have their part too🪨
📚read on Galatea 🙄 but collected the chapters a while ago (2yrs ago maybe?!?) and was able to read it like a normal book today...lol.. but book2- to continue the story looks like subscription 💸💵💸 only, because waiting between 6hrs-48hrs+ isn’t bad/payment enough 🙄🙄🙄
I don’t know why this book didn’t get traditionally published or how it ended up on Galatea… I don’t! What I do know is that it’s fabulous! It’s at the level of other teen angst award winning YA books I’ve read. Spoiler… YES! She ends up forgiving and dating her bully but if you read the whole book you understand what happened.
I don’t know who Manjari is but this book needs mainstream exposure. I joined Galatea for the spice… this had zero spice but it held my attention and I ravished it!
I really hope this author publishes a paperback gives the world, outside of Galatea, an opportunity to discover this gem.

2 estrellulas, colta. salu2
