Former high school teacher and university lecturer, Suze E Prescot (aka Essey Nelson) has lived and worked in Lancashire (according to its original boundaries) her whole life.
She loves cats and horses, and is, in fact fond of all animals. She loves reading, often reading five or more stories a week. She has no fave type of story, and her bookshelves boast detective and mystery, crime and spy, science fiction and fantasy, and plenty of humour. From Shakespeare, Austen and the Brontës, to modern indie authors, if its well-written, she will read it.
Despite her catholic tastes, she tends to write romance, and will happily argue that most fiction falls under that banner.
Her heroes are strong and wonderful men - on the inside at least! While her heroines are intelligent, capable, yet often naïve and pure whatever their age.

It's a love story that takes place on an occupied island. She's in the resistance, fighting the occupation of her island, and he is a Special Forces officer tasked with helping the locals get their island back.

This story is sweet, hot, beautiful, action packed, and funny.

I had the honour of reading it before it was released and give feedback to the author.

Suze, well done, it's brilliant!

A story of romance amidst a government takeover in conflict with rebel forces and mercenary fighters-- surely the ingredients for an intriguing plot; and this novel proceeds fairly nicely in its delivery of these elements.

If you're an avid reader, you'll consume this story quickly if only to find out what becomes of the two lovers' relationship. I, myself, was eager to discover whether the romance between Olivia and Mac would develop nicely or deteriorate tragically during the intense surrounding dangers on the island of Henrietta as they and others fight to liberate it.

Does this novel have the classic romance movie formula? Dive into it and find out for yourself. I think you'll discover that the story is worth your time.

I'm very find of this story. I based the hero, Mac, on actor Michael Ironside, as he was in his thirties in roles like Ham Tyler in V. Later, when describing his former CO, I chose Michael again, in his sixties. Josh, who knows them both well, remarks on their similarities to himself. I love Olivia. She is so perfect; completely unspoiled and astonishingly resilient. It was hard to write her without her appearing fake, but I think I managed it.
