Prelude for Khaleena's story. Does not need to be read for the series. It was written as a thank you holiday story for fans of the series.
From WSJ and USAT Bestselling Author Amelia Hutchins comes a story of betrayal and hope.
Old acquaintances are gathering as events unravel and unmask new obstacles in war-torn Faery.
Kahleena assumed the Fates had offered her a glimpse into her destiny. She expected the events to unfold as they had in her vision. How complicated could it be to convince one male that their futures are united and created for one another? She never anticipated he’d be the smug, arrogant sociopath who aimed to reclaim what was once his. It also doesn’t help that he’s the hottest man she’s ever clapped her sights on. Arius is carnality in its truest form. His touch ignites a fire within her that she’s unprepared to feel, and his lips are the tinder which set her soul ablaze with passion.
The walls of the prison have fractured, and Arius is finally free to make those who slaughtered or imprisoned his people pay. Abducting the daughter of the high king and queen is only the first step. Kahleena Danann was supposed to be a mouthy, spoiled princess. She should have been on her knees, pleading for mercy. Instead, she stands toe-to-toe with him and savagely declares exactly where he can stick his intentions with voluptuous lips and brilliant eyes flickering with fury. The girl, who is full of innocence and exquisite beauty, is unlike any woman he’s encountered before and threatens all his carefully plotted revenge.
Will Kahleena be capable of withstanding his savagery and heated lips?
Can Arius stick to his plans for vengeance, or will one golden-eyed beauty ruin everything he’s been planning for the last millennium?
Will Synthia and Ryder be able to face the truth of what is heading straight for their kingdom? Or will it force them to confront the enemies hell-bent on making them pay for the atrocities carried out in the past? Welcome back to Faery, where nothing is what it seems. With two factions about to collide, who will rise and become the true ruler of the Realm?
This is a prequel to Kahleena’s story and not needed if following the storyline.
Warning: This book consists of an antihero, and a sassy, savage beauty that refuses to tremble before his domination or wrath. If you don’t love fantasy worlds, dark fantasy aspects, with a scorching undertone, this might not be your thing. There’s graphic language because she’s going to put him in place. Polite words won’t get her point across. He’s obtusely hardheaded. There’s violence, because how else will he understand she means business? There’s intensity because who doesn’t love some escapades blended with sizzling undertones? Who am I kidding, there are no undertones. It’s going to be a wall-banging, bed-shaking, scorching fable of deceit, triumph, love-hate-ish (We don’t do that tender crude here) and endurance. If you're into this type of story, scroll up and click the buy link. This book has adult subject matter, graphic fighting scenes and is NOT meant for anybody under 18. But when you’re of age, come on back and check it out.

I just ..
I can’t even.. words are hard 😅
Unbelievable story and dive back into Faery. I knew it would be fantastic.. I wasn’t prepared. I am book hungover 😅
So I love Amelia … her books are amazing obviously, I’ve read them allll …and I hate to rate this so low because I know she works damn hard but .. I’m confused… the “back of this book” reads like it’s a story mostly about Kahleena but her story only really starts from chapter 6 and there is really very little from her in it… I kept reading more hoping there would be more..!
The book reads like a catch up, I guess and a prelude to her next few books in the series… with one or two main bombs dropped but there isn’t really much plot to this book…?
And while I love the level of smut that only Amelia knows how to bring to life… I found that whole chapter (13mins worth) of sex between Syn and Ryder to become a little repetitive… maybe I’m just becoming old and jaded (?)
Anyway I did enjoy reading it and learning a few things but would have loved to “hear” more from Kahleena as that’s what I thought this was about ..?
Khalena will be the savior, or at least they all hope so. Hope Alden will be alright or is he to far gone. Can't believe this monster was created by Spyder that's just crazy.
Decided to finally join Goodreads to leave this review. Honestly, I love Amelia’s books and this one is great and I’m excited for Kahleena’s book… EXCEPT Why on earth did he keep referring to her stuff as princess parts???!!! It was so ungodly cringy. Like a middle school boy that can’t just say princess p**sy or even c*nt. I don’t know if I can get through an entire book of him saying princess parts. It was so cringe and felt very faraway from what Amelia usually writes. Just not hot at all. Please don’t use princess parts in Kahleena’s actual book!!!
I don't know where to start. I had issues with the information dump at the beginning. There was no real logical conclusion based on facts, but suddenly there is the Ether and the before-Danu- intervention people and the land that we spent all those previous Far Chronicles books trying to save, now doesn't want its High King and Queen? Ryder, Arius and Zahruk were all dirty talking the same way. It was like the same guy with the same lines in three different packages. Spyder and Kahleena were the most interesting characters, as well as Cade and Zander. I'm looking forward to the next book. I would read anything Ms. Hutchins writes.
My favorite couple EVER !!!! Syn and Rider gosh i've missed them !! It was has always soooo good. I can't wait to see what happens next ! A lot of smut and bad ass women !
I’ve been such a fan of this series and Amelia but I could not get into this book. I never thought I’d be bored of Syn and Ryder but I was looking forward to Khaleena’s story, I enjoyed the other character perspective books but this did not deliver.
For one, it takes 30% of the book to have a chapter from the main character and the constant focus on Syn has been a bore to read. There’s so much going on but so little actually progressing the plot.
Oh how I missed this universe and these characters!!! One of Amelia’s best series!!!! Loved this book and all the winks to future storylines!!!! It sets the perfect stage for all the side character books and I can not wait for Amelia to produce these works of art! I absolutely love her writing style and nothing compares to how she writes smut! Huh I just love her and all her work!!!
DO NOT READ THIS BOOK IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE FAE UNIVERSE BOOKS AND SERIES IN THE CORRECT READING ORDER FOR THE FULL EXPERIENCE!!! If you haven’t yet, RUN!!! Go do it now!!! These are a masterpiece!
My favorite author ever but this book was not my favorite. There were so many storylines going on and I was able to follow all of them except maybe the primary one associated with this book. There were a couple of sections I had to re-read and still couldn't really understand the storyline. But, as always, I'm sure the follow on books will clear everything up. There were some very humorous points in this book, however. Specifically the "ladder" scene with Zander and the "slapping" scene with Kahleena. I was a little bit more excited about how Zahruk's and Alden's characters may come back around. I also really liked the family portions of the book and how they all cherished each other. This author's mind still amazes me with how she comes up with these storylines. They are amazing.
Why? Why???? Why did it have to end?????? Kahleena I can't wait to see what you do to that monster (I don't want to put names for spoilers) Amelia knocked it out of the park again with the "novella" she graced our Kindles with. I love that she gave a glimpse of all the loved characters of the Fae Chronicles. Syn and Ryder with their "sensual" times takes our breath away as always. The spice she includes that makes you want to melt while telling a tear jerking, hostility and rage producing storyline is awe inspiring. This one doesn't let us down with the laughter and grief filled that only family can provide. She finds a way to make you relate and want to thrown it across the room. Kahleena will rock the realms and I can't wait to see where the story unfolds.
"Whispers of Fate" left me with mixed feelings, and I must admit, a tinge of frustration. As a devoted fan of "The Fae Chronicles" by Amelia Hutchins, I was excited to dive into this novella and reconnect with the beloved characters. However, it's hard not to feel a bit let down by the shortness of the story and the lack of insight into Arius, the male lead.
On one hand, it was wonderful to return to the enchanting world of the Fae and reunite with characters I've grown to love. The author's world-building and descriptive prose were as captivating as ever, allowing me to once again immerse myself in this magical realm.
But, on the other hand, the brevity of the novella left me wanting more. It felt like a tantalizing glimpse into the lives of the characters, rather than a fully satisfying story. And while the female characters are as dynamic and intriguing as ever, I couldn't help but feel frustrated by the lack of depth and revelation when it came to Arius, the male lead.
The chemistry between the characters remains electric, but I craved a deeper exploration of their emotions and a more thorough understanding of Arius's thoughts and motivations. "Whispers of Fate" had the potential to be so much more, and it left me yearning for a more substantial narrative, particularly in Arius's perspective.
In the end, my love for "The Fae Chronicles" kept me engaged, but I can't help but wish for a longer, more revealing story that delves into Arius's character. While "Whispers of Fate" offered a tantalizing taste of the Fae world, it left me with a lingering sense of frustration at what could have been a more substantial and satisfying read, particularly in exploring Arius's role in the story.
I knew it was going to be but this book was one straight TEASE.
It was a quick look into what is coming up for Faerie and told by Syn and Kahleena’s POV. All I can say is that damn boy, we are going to be in for a wild ride!!
I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of Kahleena’s story! I have a feeling it’s going to hurt so good and may end up being my new favourite. Currently Ciara and Blane’s takes the top spot along with Lucian and Lena.
I loved the little insights and Easter eggs we got for Zahruk, Vlad, Ristan, and Spyder too. Their stories will be epic.
My heart absolutely burst when the precious cinnamon roll Prince was born. I won’t say anything, to avoid spoilers, but that was an absolutely sweet turn of events and I am looking forward to seeing him grow up with love.
This was basically just a teaser trailer for the next few books but it still gets 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ spicy stars from me! I’m so excited for what’s next!
I went with 4 stars. I love these characters so much. And the storyline and twists and revelations are some of the most intriguing to me. It keeps you coming back and wanting to know more. It can get a bit confusing remembering what is real and what is not because there is a lot of deceit. The length between releases also contributes. But I cannot wait to read about Kahleena and Arius’s story. I hope it comes out soon. We are in for another battle. Their story gives me Claiming the Dragon King vibes, which is one of my favorites stories. I must say that Ryder and Syn’s intimate times were very drawn out with a lot of dialogue. It felt like too much talking. And the amount of adjectives used was excessive for me. And the repeated words (i.e. ravenous and p***y) and repeated declarations. Other than that, it was a good story and good lead in to Kahleena’s story.
A lot of words without any real sustenance. The premise of this book was giving me Ciara/Blane vibes. Kidnapped, revenge, and threats of rape. Hutchins really needed to get some new material. The book is supposed to be about Kahleena, but we got a whole lot of Syn instead. All this book did was add more questions without any answers. And to top it off after 18 books, the author drops like 10 more coming soon books in this never-ending repetitive storyline. I don't see myself reading anymore of this series. Hutchins prides herself on writing a good villain with a sassy heroine to put him in his place. But this guy is the worst one yet, and I'm still waiting for that to happen. And with the truth bombs that Hutchins reveals about Kahleena, why does she seem so weak and feeble? Where's the strong, sassy demigod to put this jerk in his place? I felt completely misled by Hutchins description of this book, and she's clearly run out of ideas.
Kahleena gets in a few good threats & responses- but this one is rough. The “one year old” thing gets explained away…I suppose….but I just can’t understand how chill she is when he threatens to not only r-word (and kill) her, but also her mother/Synthia with everything Kahleena knows about her past and her birth. I can see her not believing that he’ll successfully kill her entire family like he says he wants to…but the nothing-but-torture/threats combined with the “i’m gonna r-word your mommy” talk unfortunately douses any heat for me. No charm or heroic end goal to soften his edges at all. I really don’t get why she’s not more confused or frustrated at her attraction for him while he repeatedly threatens to r-word her and her mother and kill her entire family.
My thoughts through this one were pretty much just… poor Synthia. At least we get a little between her and Ryder, but I do feel sorry for the fact that she’s had her HEA basically taken away by this plot. I mean to endure what she saw with her mother and then to have her daughter tortured and non-stop threatened with r-word in front of her? Just really sad.
I thought I’d feel better about that Fae Chronicles ending after this one but that’s definitely not the case. Any softer romance readers should probably wait until the next one is out to read (to hopefully add even the smallest bit of redemption to this love interest) or just skip if degradation and threats aren’t your thing.
I loved seeing some of my favorite characters reappear. When Fae Chronicles was wrapped up I worried that would be the last we hear of Syn, Ryder, and the Horde so I’m super excited that we’re seeing more. I knew going into it that Amelia had been through a tumultuous time and that this was supposed to be a novella to let us know where our characters are at and prepare us for their coming stories. I’m anxiously awaiting more on Kahleena, I hope she gets a HEA but not sure if I want it to be with who she believes to be her mate. For a shorter book Amelia did a good job of still having a story while giving us enough side pieces that we can see who’s story is likely to unfold next. Keep up the good work, Queen.

So I thought this was Kahleena's story and after reading the blurb again I realize that wasn't necessarily true. If you are like me, let me just tell you there is very little of Kahleena. However, there is a lot of Syn, her impending birth, and lots of talk of her pregnancy which annoyed me. On that note, this is just my personal feelings about the book. By far my least favorite of anything Amelia has written.
Buy it if You loved the last books in the Faery saga Wanted more about Syn and Ryder Focus on Syn's pregnancy and not much else
Do not buy if You were hoping for a new storyline (In Particular Kahleena's) Are annoyed by someone's pregnancy being pushed in your face every other paragraph
I felt this book could have been more. Alot was Ryder rambling his repetitive dirty talk to Synthia which started to result in my eye rolling. So much is happening and they waste time pledging their undying love to each other and blah blah blah...we know. His dirty talk is starting to bore me especially since it's the same lines over and over, even repetitive word us in the same dirty talking session.
We did get some unexpected background info that's interesting and i can't wait to see Kahleena bring Arius to his knees or Zahruk step up.
The book seemed short considering there is no known dates on the next.
Not alot happened in this book. Just alot of info was revealed. But Kahleena smacking Arius's Dick was hilarious

Shew we, give me a minute to hydrate and breathe because once again Ryders mouth brings me to my knees. Syn is one lucky girl in that aspect but man they cannot catch a break. Just when they think the war is over, enemies they didn’t know they had come knocking at their door waiting to take them down. It’s different this time and the foe is nothing like we’ve ever seen before. Winning won’t be so easy and it’s ultimately up too Kahleena to steer fate in the right direction. That’s if everyone around her doesn’t succumb to the darkness first. Once again, Hutchins leaves my mind a mess of emotions and full of questions.
Loved Kahleena's point of view! Unfortunately.. there's not much from her.
We still get a bunch from Syn and I do get why we are seeing thing's unfold and play out from her side.. I'm just ready for the other character's to get their chance to shine.
Hutchins does give us snippets to grab hold of though. The favorites all make an appearance and certain characters imply whats going on in their neck of the world, getting us ready for their stories. Which will leave all the hard core fans squealing.
You are def going to need to read this one before any more come out.
some plot holes super fast and who the heck is Layton?
This one is a little too almost rapy for me. It felt Rushed but it was so much better then revealing his monster and answered a lot left unsaid from that book as well. I love that this book brings spyders story a little to light.. Over all I’m not mad the action barley stopped so maybe that’s why it felt rushed and fast because almost all 257 pages something was happening and that’s a very short amount of pages for that much action. . Idk like I said not mad, good book.I can’t wait for what happens next! As always it’s good to be in faerie! ❤️
To begin, I love you everything Amelia writes… And the Fae Chronicles world is one of my favorites.
The smut is always 5 stars, add in the fiery strong willed female leads and the alpha males, and I am SOLD.
With every new addition to this series (spin-offs included) a bigger picture develops, and this book left me EXTREMELY excited for what is going to take place with this next generation of Fae, along with some of the OG crew (Ristan, Erie, Adam, Adrian, SPYDERRRR:))
If you like Amelia, and her dark romance bada$$ female characters, read it.
I'm convinced that Amelia Hutchins has magic and she uses it on me every time I read one of her books. I open the cover and instantly fall through the pages and into other worlds where magic, mystery and mayhem escort me through wild lands filled with pretty beasts and deadly creatures that all aim to destroy me either viscerally or carnally. And when the book gets to the last page and i find myself back in reality, i realize i just experienced something totally amazing and thrilling and magical, and all i want to do is go back. Amelia Hutchins is a sorceress and she has enchanted me with her writing.
Taking us back to Ryder and Synthia’s world, this book is a bridge between what already happened to them and what’s about to happen to Kahleena. I found the storytelling seemless as always. Amelia Hutchins knows how to weave characters and worlds that you don’t want to leave! Ryder has always been my fav character (that bad boy attitude is hot) but I have a feeling Kahleena is going to trump both her parents in attitude. Can’t wait for the next book in this series. I’d recommend if you like Fae stories with spice, serious darkness and heroes that are flawed and yet beautiful!
Whisper me this: how does a beautiful daughter born a little over a year ago grow to thousands of years old? How does the King and Queen save faery from something or someone that is powerful beyond imagination? This book gives us another shot at our favorite faery couple and its comforting to know they are still in love. Their children are everything to Synthia and her beast and having one tell them its up to her to save her world is going to test their hearts, their hopes, and their family. Of course this book is all sorts of lustalicious, darkness, and unexpected discoveries. I'm cheering for Kahleena to surprise us all and make Fate her bitch.
Wow, just wow. Hutchins once again, nailed it. I can not wait for more Fae!!
What a look into what has happened around Faery since the war. It was amazing to see old friends, even though for some the story wasn't what I expected, it was so much more. Meeting the new generation of Fae, and trying to unravel Ms. Hutchins plans is hard to do, when she lays out new twists and turns.
If you haven’t read the series, this won’t make any sense. If you’ve been following along- it will make you SO happy!
It’s like Avengers End Game, but for Fae Chronicles. EVERYONE comes together in this & I am here for it! This is a fun little teaser into what is coming next! My Spyder senses tell me it’s going to be EPIC!
Kahleena is going to rock this world! I cannot wait for the next round of spin-off’s! Loved all of it SO much!
