So, this series has a way of pulling you in. I had a plan, after finishing book one I was going to jump into an ARC read, I had no intentions of binging this series. But curiosity got to me. I couldn't help but wonder what it was that Max wants from our girl Shatina.
At the end of book one there was a two-year time jump, our girl is in college, she has a boyfriend, she's doing good. I was happy for her.
Sadly, it seems our girl isn't mean to have a happily ever after. At least not now. Instead, she's meant to go down a rabbit hole of murder, politics, grief, amateur sleuthing, and detreating mental illness. Sprinkle in a new dynamic with Max her former blackmailer and criminal accomplice and as started in the blurb, shit gets weird.
And I'm here for it. Was not expecting the plot twist at the end. Jumping immediately into book three.
