Falling Down — world famous rock band and my current state of being. My head and my heart have been falling for Jesse Kingston since I was just a schoolgirl. He’s sinfully sexy, and I get to spend my days flirting and dancing in his new music video.

The chemistry between us is explosive, but it’s just work—that is, until he proposes a weekend together. I’m all for a sex-filled romp with the dirty-talking rockstar. But what starts out as fun and games turns into something bigger than either of us bargained for.

Now he wants more. He wants everything, and he’s not taking no for an answer.

Can a schoolgirl crush turn into a happily ever after or am I destined for heartbreak?

The plot dragged on and on and there were so many sex scenes that took away from the story. But most importantly, the narrator was awful! She just couldn't do a male voice AT ALL - It sounded so creepy that I couldn't stop laughing. 🙈

I wish I could say that I just DNF this one -- but I stubbornly held on with hope in my heart. But alas, no hope was to be found. A total waste of valuable reading time. The most encouragement I can extend to readers is that there is one hot, extremely sexy bad boy musician. No hope for the female lead – just a pure self-absorbed female who acts and sings and clings. And it’s hard to define the storyline because there really isn’t much of one to be found.

For the low price of 99-cents, readers get an overload of earthy, vulgar, and sexually explicit language in one raunchy packed novel. More times than not, it is repetitive porn without plot. The dialogues made me cringe – there is definitely no realism. The whole thing is totally unbelievable and disgustingly so. There were absolutely no filters for what came out of these characters’ mouths (including the secondary cast).

The book was also filled with many editing problems – which could have been easily corrected with a good proofread.

I make no apologies for my review. This is exactly the feelings that I was left with upon completion of “Falling Down.” Nothing worked for me.

Ummm...

I don't know where to start.

Oh boy

This book was sooo unbelievably awkward and cringey it's not funny.

This book start off with Lucy meeting Jesse(who she's obsessed with) in an airport when she was 16/17..I cant remember, but let me tell you! It was so freaking awkward!

What kind of sound is "Unh" I've been trying to work it out the whole book!

Anyway, next she meets Jesse a couple of years later and she's some big Hollywood actress, doing a video shoot for a band. She doesn't know it's actually Jesse's band and when they meet again..still awkward. They manage to convince her she should do music because she's a really good singer. That's basically how the book goes on.

Jesse and her flirt the entire three day shoot and then at the end spend a weekend together, where Jesse realizes she's "the one"

I'm sorry really?

Apparently he felt the connection in Chicago when they first met, although she didn't say a word. Unlikely.

OK, I can't wait any longer. This needs to be said....
SOME THINGS YOU DON'T SAY OUT LOUD!!

The major cringe factor of this book, was the conversations. There are some things you absolutely do no say with others around. Some things you do not discuss around other people, especially if they're people you just met! Certain discussions were just soo awkward to read and made me so uncomfortable. Not because they were talking about sex or whatever, it's just weird

I think the author was trying to live vicariously through her characters or something. There should really be a rule in writing: Don't write things that wouldn't happen/be discussed out loud into books... it comes of awkward and desperate.

I thought everything about this book was cringe worthy, and I most definitely won't be reading the sequel!

I can't take the all too convenient band formation, change in careers, shiny happy living situation that's going on here. No character development and no STORY equals a no bueno situation for me.

Where to start>? mmmmm Jesse Kingston hell yeah!! I Had the utter pleasure of beta reading this book and i really can't wait to get it onto my kindle!

This book has bucket loads of laughs, hot sexy men, strong female characters, and oozes chemistry and hot naughty sex !!
The story is about Lucy and her childhood crush and lead singer of Falling Down, Jesse Kingston. After meeting him in person a few years previously, Lucy (Now a successful actress) find herself in Jesse's company again.
And it begins, this is a heartwarming love story, with so much extra. It follows this group of people who become friends and family, and stick by each other through everything. Jesse refuses to lose Lucy again, and is determined to win her heart. Lucy has been burned and is reluctant to dive into something that will leave her with another broken heart. The chemisty between Lucy and Jesse is off the chart, and the friendships that build between Lucy's friends and Jesse band mates will fill you with laughter and love and tears!!
All in all a great lil story that you won't regret reading !!!

Loved it! First things first, I have to say I was dying at the fat & skinny Elvises (Is Elvises a word? Elvi? ha) when I was reading in bed after midnight last night & couldn't help but snicker at it (loudly enough to where the cat jumped on the bed and stared me down because I was disturbing his sleep o_O) I'm just glad I didn't wake the entire house! I loved all the characters Anne created. They were so realistic and you couldn't help but fall in love with them all (especially Jesse... dear lord, that man's HOT). Lucy was a riot as were Sera and Xander and, oh, hell, all the characters. Everyone had their own unique personality and as they interacted I felt as if I was a fly on the wall watching everything as it happened. Very cute story of a girl's dreams come true with a nice mix of drama and humor and hot dudes. Especially loved how Jesse was so enamored with Lucy from the get-go and laid it all out there for her, showing that his feelings for her were very real *sighs* Can't wait for Blush :)

This one is about Lucy (an actress and also a singer) and her childhood rock star crush Jesse. They meet at the Chicago airport and there's a spark but nothing more until years later fate brings them together.

"Well, you captured my attention six years ago, enchanted me with your voice the first minute of our second meeting, left me wanting more after the first time we had sex-that never happens, I'm just saying. Then I wanted you around, in my life, in my bed-all the time. You got me to want a relationship and you opened my heart to love. I'd have to say you win."

and I'm jumping to the next book.....

I was very lucky to be a part of the beta reading team for this debut novel by Anne Mercier, and what an honour it was. Anne had wrote a book from the heart that will have you melting into a puddle in your reading space for Jessie Kingston. Lucy though the central character is someone we could all relate to in some form or another, be it her mother or her kick ass best friend, or her insecurities which we all can have. This book makes you look at the world of the famous and see that it may not be all it appears behind the glitz and glamour. Some of these people want to live a relativly normal life and share their love of music and acting and not just be on the front cover of the magazines, and i feel Anne captured this situation brilliantly. I love all the supporting characters especially Sera and Xander. Great work Anne and i cannot wait to read more from you :)

I was lucky to get a copy of this before it was released. :)

Ok I will put this out there...might contain spoilers because I am so excited about this book and just want to talk about it! These characters come to life for me.I related so much to Lucy on so many levels.

Jesse...hot, rocker, dirty mouth and tattoos...OMG! He was Hot Sex on a Stick. But there is something behind him in closed doors that only very few got to see.

Lucy...beautiful, quick-witted, and talented. She had always done what her mother wanted her to do until she had reached her breaking point. With the help of her friends, she was able to achieve them.

Lucy was crushing on Jesse for many years. She met him, and they both felt this connection that they couldn't describe. Fast forward a few years, and they reconnect again. Everyone around them could sense their love but of course, bad boy rocker and hurt before leading lady were too slow to get it. But when Jesse realizes it, he goes full force into telling her and showing her.

The author made sure not to just focus on the main characters but to include everyone in their lives together. I could really see how everyone got a long and was there for each other.

If you enjoy sex, a kick ass playlist, romance, laughter, crying, and relating to characters like I have never felt before, then this is the book for you.

DNF***Tried to finish, got to 50% & gave up, the waiting for improvement part of me finally gave in to the it's never going to get better part of me!! Totally unbelievable, Lucy is 23, from a Mafia family, has won an Academy Award, and is still a total "fangirl" of her 12 yr old rock star crush, Jesse (if I ever read the word fangirl again it will be too soon). Did I mention she is also an accomplished singer & so is her cousin, Sera who happens to be a high fashion model. They are ending their current careers because Lucy hates the paparazzi and it was her mother's dream not hers to be an actress . Her love scenes with Jesse are copy & paste & described the same way over and over and over and over again, ad nauseum. Can't tell you how it ends because I just didn't care enough to find out!!
What I can't figure out is where all of the 5 star reviews came from!

Mercier - Option 1 - Falling Down

When one of your author besties says she floves a new author and insists that I read her book, you listen. And that’s how I discovered Anne Mercier. Harper Bentley recommended Falling Down and I am forever grateful. Not only is Anne’s debut novel an awesome, fun, laugh-out-loud, so-hot-you-whimper read, but Anne herself is awesome. She’s a self-proclaimed book nerd and I claim her as one of our SmutSluts. So much so that she was November’s author of the month.

Overall Rating: 4.5 stars- Kept telling myself “just one more chapter.”

Here are the important things to know about Falling Down.

No angst
Jesse is hot
You will laugh
There are tons of laughs
Jesse is h-o-t
Seriously, he’s a finger-licker.
There’s so much music in these books, each character her his/her own playlist
Jesse is delicious

Seriously, if you’ve ever crushed on a rock star, if you’ve ever had a band poster on your wall, you’ll love Falling Down.
“Don’t break my heart, Jess Kingston.”
“Don’t break my heart, Luciana Russo.”

While I won’t get into too great of detail so as to avoid spoilers, just know that Jesse is a rockstar God. And watching him fall in love is pretty fun. I particularly loved that Anne didn’t do a lot of back-and-forth, bait-and-switch stuff. There was never any question that Jesse & Lucy were hot for each other. No one plays coy or pretends not to feel what everyone obviously knows they’re feeling. It was quite refreshing.
“Jesse?”
“Yeah?”
“Why do you keep touching me?”
He shrugs. “Because I can.”
I blow out a breath. “I never gave you permission to touch me.”
He shrugs. “You gave it to me the first time you screamed my name.”

Instead of relying on the old Miscommunication Complication, Anne brings us a journey of people following their dreams. The conflict comes from that, which makes it feel more authentic. Which is a funny thing to say because this is definitely a light-hearted, non-angsty, suspend-disbelief kind of book.
That’s when I grabbed her, stripped her naked and made a feast out of her pussy. The woman tastes like the best kind of dessert.

If you like books that are a little outlandish and a lot funny, plus filled with hot rock stars and hotter sex, you should rush over to Amazon and one-click this one. It’s worth it just for the joy of Jesse’s oral fixation.
“I only see you, Lucy. Only you.”

Smut Factor: 5 stars- Had to wake my husband at 2am to quench my “need.”
Character likability: 4 stars- I wish we were friends.
Storytelling: 3 stars- It could happen
Writing and editing quality: 3 stars - A few errors, but nothing that took away from the story.

Loveeeeeed this book! Lucy (actress turned rock star) meets up with her rock star crush/inspiration Jesse Kingston six years after meeting him in O'Hare Airport in Chicago. As successful as Lucy is in her acting career, her heart and soul, along with her talent, belong to the music. She and her cousin/sister, Sera, (you'll understand this as soon as you read the first couple of chapters) have always played music together and had a band in high school. With Jesse's help and her own connections, everything falls into place for her music career to become a reality. But ...! This book is a rock n roll love story about two people destined to be together. Lucy is adorable. I thought I was gonna find her annoying but nope, just the opposite, the more I read, the more I loved her ... As famous as she is, she is down to earth, deeply caring, responsible and very family oriented (no doubt, due to her Italian family!) Jesse is a freakin rock god!!! Gorgeous, well endowed, alpha, muscular, 6'3" tower of swoon ...

JESSE: "This woman is everything I never knew I wanted and exactly what I need. F#ck, I love her. I want to stand on top of the Hollywood sign and shout it out loud. I want to go all caveman and claim her, then beat on my chest. She's mine."

As the relationship between the two of them grew quickly, the same thing was happening with the rest of the band members from Falling Down and Lucy's band Blush. They all fed off of each other but in the best way ~ as if Falling Down became Blush's big brother ... I just loved Lucy and Jesse ... All of the characters in this book were funny as hell and completely lovable. They were always in each other's business and no one seemed to care ~ I found that hysterical ~ the same way old folks have no filter!!! I loved all of the band members, especially Xander, and I'm looking forward to reading so much more about all of them and their antics as well ... Anne Mercier writes with so much passion and detail that she has made each of her characters come to life, leaving me as if I was there with them ~ just hangin with the band!!!!

I had the pleasure of beta reading for Anne. Her debut novel is sexy, fun and so worth reading. I love a great rock star book and Anne delivers exactly that. The chemistry between Lucy and Jesse is hella hot. Lucy is a movie star and is traveling with her best friend Sera and her mom. During a layover they go to wonder around. Lucy and Sera run into one of Lucy's major crushes...Jesse Kingston from rock group Falling Down. Many years later they run into each other. Lucy is older, more confident and so ready to get her man. The support characters are so funny and make this such an enjoyable read. Way to go Anne Mercier.

Wow!

I stumbled over this to pass my time until the next book of "The Rocker..." comes out and hoped for something that wouldn't disappoint me too much. I am not only not disappointed, I was enthralled and devoured this book in one night.

The heroine Luce is just to die for ordinary in some ways - obviously not the award winning actress part. I so saw myself in front of my teenage crush again, while reading the airport scene. Even though she is portrayed as famous, she is just so down to earth and longs for things ever girl can relate to.

We have funny characters, individuals, not just some side-kicks to entertain the protagonists during the plot. Oh did I mention? It has a plot!
I am a fan of the one or other steaming sex scene, I freely admit it and Anne Mercier certainly didn't let me down *can someone please fan some air at me?* But I am not a fan of a story with a mediocre, weird or even boring plot you only get because the sex scenes do need a certain amount of words in between.

I really liked the story, 5 well-deserved stars, and I really want to know what happens next... You got me hooked, Anne Mercier!

This book was awesome!

Lucy was awesome! She was kickass, standing up for what she really wanted to do instead of still doing what her Mum wanted her to do. Plus she loves Tijan!! Loved those Tijanette references!
Jesse was just a beautiful person. He wasn't your typical rockstar and wasn't afraid to admit his real feelings for someone. He wasn't perfect, but was human and made mistakes like anyone else, but apologised for it and let himself be vulnerable for Lucy.
Loved the other members of both bands and their close friends.

I was a little concerned near the start of the book that too much may be happening but my concerns were unwarranted as they were only minor storylines in this book.

Can't wait to read the next book!! :)

Falling Down is the first book in the Rockstar series...which has alot of books! There are alot of mixed reviews on this book. I think whether you love or hate this book will boil down to how much immaturity/sillyish you can stomach. The book is not ya, there's TONS of sex, but the characters all have like a fraternity feel. There isn't much depth or substance, but it's still entertaining.

The first two books focus on Lucy and Jesse. Lucy has had a huge crush on Jesse since she was in HS...she even practiced writing Mrs. Jesse Kingston in her notebooks....in HS...like I said...silly. She meets him briefly at age 17, where she goes total fangirl and basically says....Uh and Um...
They meet up six years later at a video shoot, and the sparks fly!!!

Luciana Russo is pretty much perfect. She's georgeous, she can sing like an angel and she's a mega movie star & Oscar winner after only six years in the biz. Pretty much everyone loves her-she brings light with her everywhere she goes, and laughs sunshine filling all with warmth and happiness. (actual quote) Except when dealing with skanks. She HATES whores, and skanks, and groupies...HATES THEM...and she is not afraid to tell people....

Jesse Kingston is hot sex on a stick. He's hot, he's tall ( 6'3) full of muscles and sexy tattoos. He's a rock god with a big cock, and he knows how to use it...because he's a manwhore-and everyone knows it...."Jesse Kingston, the man with a new girl every couple of hours." He is a no strings type of guy that doesn't do relationships.

This book doesn't have a lot of substance, there really aren't any conflicts. There are three OW mentioned that may sprout up in the next book, but other than causing one OTT ridiculous argument that had both bands ready to throw down(....seriously what was the big deal? If she is that insecure and dramatic...then the next book will be angst filled after they go on tour....)they weren't an issue. This book, 80% was both bands basically hanging out, or J & L having sex.

spoiler ahead...I'm tagging it, but if you're on the app, it won't work/hide, but I need to keep track of a few things for the next book …..

Love rockers
** ARC given on behalf of obsessed by books for an honest review * *
ok I had already read this book once, so when I was given an ARC for a honest review I was honored. so I'm going to leave my first review but, I am going to add to it. if you love rockers than you must, no you need to read this book. Lucy has always had a crush on rocker Jesse Kingston from Fallen Down, when she runs into him at the airport at age 17 she becomes speechless, they shake hands, get a picture and actually have a conversation. now 6 years later here we are Lucy is an Academy award winning actress and her sister Sera is a well known model, they are at cage studios getting ready to make a video for a popular band, but don't know who. when luce and Sera get on the set they see all this music equipment and seeing that music is really their passion they decide to play them, but had no idea that they belonged to Fallen Down til Jesse starts singing along. The band loves the girls and it's like instant family and right off the bat Jesse starts his sexy banter with Luce and oh my Jesse has a sexy mouth. The chemistry is very explosive so is easy to say the sex starts soon but omg everything about Jesse is perfect, his body, hair, tattoos , his dimples and my god his very large pens and lord we can't forget his sexy talking dirty mouth., but when he falls hard for Lucy is sweey, loving , caring but Jesse isn't sure. cause his never done relationships, he just knows he's going to mess up. Lucy is a strong, sassy mouth female who is awesome she loves Jesse she has over half her life but she has trust issues but these two give it ago and its, bumpy, sexy, hot . when lucy and sera decide to give being musichians, fallen down decides to help them. we have a great book of characters Ben, Xander, Kennedy, Kyle, Jace,Maggie, Trace. Hope to see a book on the whole gang. this is going to be a great series. can't wait for book two. Jesse is walking sex on a stick. the way he talks to luce is unreal. He may be my favorite rocker by far. definitely a must read.

Sweet!!! Sassy!!! Smutty!!!

Who doesn't love a sexy Rockstar and a sassy sometimes vulnerable heroine? I do!!!!!

I do love a Rockstar romance!!!! It's what we all dreamed of as little girls, and haha some of us probably STILL dream about ...meeting our Rockstar crush, and falling in love! le siiigh <3

Jesse is sweet, sexy, alpha, an all around good guy who hasn't really given love a chance... until Lucy comes back in to his life. And, wowsers, I could FEEL the chemistry between them, through the pages!! I got caught up in this whirlwind romance and fell for Jess right along with Lucy. I also loved that we didn't really see Jess going through women. Lucy had the perfect hollywood actress life, she was living the dream... but it wasn't totally her dream! Finally, she has a chance to do what she REALLY loves. I like how this played out. Very well written. I didn't find myself rolling my eyes. I BELIEVED it!! Oh, and the sexy time was great! I LOVE when the characters can't keep their hands off each other!

I really loved the secondary characters and how much they are involved in the story!!!!! Good times and good laughs!

Now, it's not a HEA ending, BECAUSE there is more to come!!!!! It didn't end on drama or a cliffhanger.., but it did gives us a tingle for MORE of Jesse and Lucy! Can't wait!!

First time reading this author, and it definitely won't be the last! Good job Ms. Mercier.

Tears and Smiles.

Falling Down is an amusing read. I really enjoyed the characters in this story.

Lucy is adorable. She doesn't see herself the way others do. She's more humble and nurturing. She likes to take care of people. She has an awesome sense of humor and lots of talent. Even though she's a star, she still gets star struck over Jesse.

Jesse Kingston is a playboy, at least, was until he got with Lucy. He has a great sense of humor, as does the members in his band. They kept me very amused. Jesse can be a bit of a caveman when it comes to Lucy.

It was fun reading how their relationship progressed, as well as how Lucy's life changed. I'm really looking forward to the next book.

The only complaint I have about this book is:
It was hard to follow who was talking at times. There could be tons of characters or people in the room, and it seemed like many would be talking at once. I wasn't sure who was always talking or in the conversation.

I loved this book! I really liked all the characters and Jesse was HOT! I bought this book because I knew it would be a series but the author had a note attached to the description (**This is a stand-alone novel with a HEA. No cliffhanger.**) So I thought no cliffhanger awesome! But then I find out there is a book 2 and it is again about Jesse & Lucy, if they had a HEA why another book for them? So now I am on pins and needles wondering if all the drama that wasn't in book book 1 will be in book 2. I almost feel like I am waiting for the other shoe to drop, but I really hope Jesse & Lucy stay together and nothing truly bad happens. But I think that Damien is going to be a cause for some problems.

I hope some of the secondary characters get their own books because I would love to hear Cage, Sera, Xander, Ben, Jace's story!

I was lucky to recieve a copy of this amazing book by the author before it was released. Jessie the rock star hottie and life long crush of Lucy have chance meeting at an airport while she's on her way to L.A to start her acting career. Six years later they end up working together in a recording studio and sparks begin to fly. This book is passionate, emotional and really hot with such a good story line. I loved all the supporting characters and the fact that you got a glimps of stories to come. This book is a must read and I am so freakin excited for the next one. Thank you Anne Mercier
