This book was awesome. It was such a great follow up to the first book in the series. I felt re-engaged in the world created by the author so quickly and I was so drawn in that I couldn't put the book down. Perhaps more than the story itself, what really resonated me was the deep insights given by the author (through various characters) as the story progressed. As the main character learned and grew, facing many different challenges, I felt that I was learning and growing alongside him. Much of the wisdom of this book applies to anyone who feels they are facing their own challenges, and this kept me engaged on a deeper level than some 'brainless fiction' that I have read in the past. Great work, Luc, can't wait for book 3!

Ancient prophecies, ill-equipped but stout-hearted heroes, black-as-soot evil, supernatural creatures, romance, suspense.... this book has it all.

I warn you, this book is lacking literary quality, but it more than makes up for it in inspiration. I cried three times, even as I was revising sentences in my head. It is well worth the read. And it's a quick read: took me only three days, along with working full time and running errands and taking care of daily life. It's very accessible for weak or poor readers. Just give it a try.

For it to make sense you'll have to start at the beginning with the Rise of Shadow Reign of Light series, with the first book, Road of a Paragon.

If you have no spiritual yearnings to see the world changed now, you may find something like that awakened in you by the end of your reading.

The storyline of A Journey Through Fire kept my attention, and I wanted to race thru it as fast as I could. When I expected one twist, it would then head down a different direction.
One of my favorite parts was how the sword, Integrity, was used.
I loved the journey of healing and empowerment that the hero’s went on, and it was inspiring to apply some of the wisdom to my own life.
I was both entertained and inspired. I enjoyed this book, and can’t wait for the next in the series!

This story is a worthy sequel to Road of a Paragon. Fascinating characters with complex powers have brought me into a world I have fallen in love with. I cannot wait for the final book of the trilogy. I highly recommend this series.
