I never expected to become a captive of his desire. Trapped in a world of danger and temptations, I became his prize.
My father's world was always one of extravagance and excess, where money flowed like water, and our influence extended far beyond the boundaries of the law. Yet, little did I know that this life of luxury came with a hefty price tag, and I was about to become its unwilling payment.
Virgil King. A name whispered with equal parts fear and reverence in the shadowy corners of our underworld society. He was the man my father owed—the one who held the strings to our fate. To settle my father's debt, I found myself trapped in his mansion, a gilded cage that promised to unravel the sheltered life I had known.
I was a naive woman, untouched by the ways of men, and I could only speculate why Virgil had chosen me as the pawn in this dangerous game.
I knew this wasn't merely about settling a debt. It was about much more…
Delve into danger and sinful passion today as they intertwine, forcing her to decide if she’ll surrender to the captivating mafia king.
The payment!!! This is the sixth and final book in Isla and Virgil's story. It's been a rollercoaster for me as I have enjoyed reading each and every book. The author did an excellent job with the series. I didn't want it to finish but I'm sure something good is coming next. I highly recommend the series. I received an ARC for my honest voluntary review.
Sage brings the heat in the final book of this series along with just a tad of drama. As Virgil finally comes clean with his feelings for Isla will she reciprocate them? When her father shows up to claim his daughter what will happen. When the smoke finally settles what will her decision be stay or go? I really enjoyed this series from Sage. Great characters just the right amount of drama and the final book really packed the steam. Would love an epilogue to see how they are doing. Does she still talk to her friend Kate, is her father apart of her life, will Virgil fill Isla in on his family and the past??? Still some unanswered questions but I still feel like it’s worthy of 5 stars. I was honored to received the final book in this series as an arc and I am freely leaving my honest review
The morning after the party, Isla and Virgil are headed to breakfast still in their pajamas. Emmanuel rushes to them to let them know that Isla’s father Mack is storming the mansion with a bunch of guards. Mack’s guards bust down the front doors and Mack starts yelling for Virgil and Isla. Isla asks Virgil to stay hidden by the back stairwell and to let her talk to her father. Isla tells her father that she is not a prisoner in Virgil’s home. She is still there because she wants to be there. She realizes that her father is drunk and has no real plan of action. She sends him home.
Will Mack accept that Isla wants to be with Virgil? Will Virgil admit his true feelings to Isla? Will Isla admit her true feelings to Virgil?
First thing, I absolutely loved how much Isla grew as a person throughout this series. From a spoiled little "girl" to a strong woman that stands up for herself and what she wants. It was a joy to read her transformation. And Virgil, watching him transform into a man who lets go of some of his utter control. I must say, this is one of the best "last book" of a series I have ever read. It ended perfectly! Sage did an amazing job with this series and I definitely recommend you pick up the whole series!
I only started reading this book when I had the whole series, and so glad I did. Virgil, the complete Alpha Dom who takes our strong little sub as payment for a month. He realised she was special at first sight, but never that he would have such fun training her for himself. A really enjoyable read.
Honestly at first I didn't like the concept but I committed to finishing, boy am I glad I did. Different type of romance to start off but eventually we tweeted I'd like it to go.
