Lizzie – I came to the seaside town in search of a quiet life away from it all, so here I am throwing myself into my job as a teacher in the local primary school, with pure determination to escape the nightmare that was my past life and start anew. It’s all going smoothly until I find myself in the eyeline of the big bad biker, but it can’t happen… It can’t, but that sweet-talking man is living up to his name and causing Mayhem with my senses and although I try wholeheartedly resist him, he’s giving me hope of letting go of my past.
Mayhem – As Vice President to The Road Wreckers MC I have my priorities in order, my boy, family, and club come first, always has, always will. I’m loyal right down to my bones and nothing will change that not even a woman, I’m a ‘f*ck ‘em and chuck ‘em’ kind of guy, it’s all just a bit of fun, well until I set my sights on Miss Ellis. With all her curves and those mesmerizing f*ck me eyes, she has me wanting to see her draped over that desk off hers. My name may be Mayhem, but she’s causing it.
The road to happiness is never easy and with the past roaring into the present, it’s going to be anything but smooth.
**This book has content and reimagined scenes inspired of true-life experiences. **
Mayhem is the 2nd in the Road Wreckers MC standalone series
I took a shot at writing after reading forever and a day never with the thought of going any further than 1 book and then decided to take the leap and have a go at it...
And now to date I have published 6 books so far, my first book Axe - Devils Reapers MC series is semi autobiographical has been rereleased, #2 - Flex, #3 - Bear, #4 - Tinhead & #5 - Dagger (last in the series)
Dark Prince Reigns #1~ in Giordano Series Out Now!! Dark Prince's Retribution #2 ~ 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘪𝘥 2021!! Mayhem #2 in The Road Wreckers MC series - July 2021!
It's been an amazing experience already. You can come and find me on Facebook under Ruby Carter, Twitter and Instagram Ruby Carter Author and come and say hi!!! : )
When authors get together to write about the same books as a reader I worry. They may go completely off the grid from the first book in the series. But not so with this series. Ruby Carter was right on track with Lizzie and Scott aka Mayhem.
Lizzie running from an abusive relationship, Mayhem closed off from any relationship. Then his son Logan new teacher steps into the picture. Lizzie is everything Mayhem likes in a woman. But can he over come his past and hers to connect . No relationship is prefect and that shows. But for me the character that stole the show has they say is Logan. So his fathers son.
Now you have to read the series Road Wreckers to see how these boys operate and love. HAPPY READING!!♥️❤️🤎💜💙💚💛🧡🤍
I feel like this wasn’t meant to be released? It clearly wasn’t proofread. There are innumerous errors in grammar, format and there’s whole sections of text that seem like they were inserted from another part of the book. There’s one scene that’s being told from the heroin’s POV and she tells off the H. The next section is the same scene from H’s POV and she never tells him off. It’s bizarre. Would not recommend.
First things first; I like the cover of this book! Mayhem is a book that is a part of the ‘’road wreckers MC’’ collection. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. Mayhem is the first book of Ruby Carter’s that I have read (I think). I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. When Lizzie escapes a abusive marriage, she moves to a small town. Mayhem is a biker that is a part of the road wreckers MC. He is also a single father not looking for love. When he meets his son’s new teacher will he change his mind? The chemistry between Lizzie and Mayhem is clear to see and I liked them together. I have to say, I was annoyed at Mayhem for leaving her in a dangerous situation. That being said, I understood why he acted the way he did. I thought Logan was adorable! I liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
This Mayhem's and Lizzie's love story but it would not be complete without Logan, Mayhem's son. Lizzie is running from an abusive husband and lands a job as a primary teacher. Logan is in her class. When Mayhem and Lizzie first meet there is hostility between them. She doesn't think much of his biker lifestyle and he gets angry with her quick dismissal. But they can't stop thinking about each other and he finally gets up the gumption to ask her out for a drink and she accepts. They go out together several more times and grow closer to one another with each date. But they are keeping secrets from each of their pasts from one another. He has trust issues due to his relationship with Logan's mom and she fears being controlled by a man again. Will they overcome these issues to make a real relationship work? You will find steamy scenes between the two of them and yes some angst and feelings of being betrayed. Each of the books in this series can be read as a standalone story but I recommend starting with first book. I am ready to move onto book 3.
This was a good story, but extremely difficult to read. There was a lot that didn’t make sense. Either because of grammar errors, words that were missing, or whole sections that were out of place. Also, she never explained what happened to the abusive husband. It’s like she totally forgot about that part. There were other parts that should have been developed more.
This is the second book I’ve read in this series. I think the author of this book has really good ideas that could be great if she could get better editing and work on completing and developing the entire story. She does a good job of drawing you in and creating interesting characters. Hopefully she’ll figure out how to improve her writing because I look forward to reading about the other characters.
Fantastic storyline however the author did the bare minimum with this story the ending was a lot of things left unfinished, the nasty husband got scared of by janitor and then you'll never hear from him again, the junkie mum got paid off and it ends there
The author could have shown a glimpse into their future, could have built a relationship between the female lead and the son rather than teacher/student. The ex could have been a chapter closed either by the biker club or police, should have killed of the junkie mum too
CAT’S STATS MMC/FMC- Mayhem and Lizzie Genre- MC Romance Heat- explicit Safety- Triggers- violence, addiction, substance trafficking, child endangerment Tropes- Adorable Moppet, Single Dad, Hot for Teacher, Abused Heroine On The Run. Thoughts- the book starts out strong, but kinda fizzled until .
I have really enjoyed the introduction of the Road Wreckers MC and this time its Mayhem's turn. Although there are a few typos throughout, it didn't take away from the enjoyment of this book. Mayhem has had his fingers burned in the past with women so when he meets Lizzie, he is knocked on his arse! Both are carrying secrets but they can't keep away from each other. Add in Logan, Mayhem's young son and my heart was melted!
Second book in the Road Wreckers MC. VP to the club and a single father to Logan. Lizzie leaves an abused husband behind and starts a new life as a school teacher. Both lost trying to love but scared to be heartbroken again. after a misunderstanding words are said. Now they start a new begging as a family.
I have to rate this one as a 3, because the story and characters were really good but the bad grammar and punctuation was a big distraction. A few times I wasn't even sure what the author was trying to say, and had to just read on. A good proofreading would have raised it to a 4 or 5. There were places that had repetitions too, like cut and paste errors.
The story was alright but there are too many loose ends when the story concludes. The reader is left with too many questions about Lizzie’s ex and then bam we have to deal with Scott’s and neither are truly handled. It’s almost as though the author just wanted to be done and didn’t care if the story was actually concluded or not.
This book had me wanting more. I liked the chemistry between the 2 but I wish the ending told you what happened with Marlon. It felt a little unfinished or maybe I'm just greedy for more!
This is the second book in this series and like the first I found it very hard to get into. The editing is bad , with missing words and sentences repeated it just took away what could have been a great story .
This was a better read than book 1, not as many errors but still has errors. The storyline was entertaining and the characters were likable, but I wish there could have been a epilogue.
Mayhem is a single father and the VP of the club. His son Logan is starting school and is besotted with his teacher Lizzie. She has escaped a bad relationship and starting a new life and doesn't trust easily. Can they both overcome hangups and pasts.
Loved the connection Mayhem, another hot biker, has with his son. Seems the editing for this series is missing as there are missing words or additional ones not needed.
This story ended abruptly and with many cliffhangers surroundings the main characters. The characters were not well developed. Disappointing all around.
Mayhem V P and single father logan finds love with his son teacher. But secrets have a way of coming out and the pass makes for a rocky time. Hate the ending.
Amazing read with fantastic characters, emotion, action/build of plot, and sizzling chemistry made for a non stop read. Loving this collaboration series.
