Milly Taiden (also writes as April Angel) was born in the prettiest part of the Caribbean (to her) known as the Dominican Republic. Currently, she resides in New York City with her husband, bossy young son and their little dog Speedy.
When she’s not working full-time, texting with her best friend Heidi in England, chastising her son for pulling the dog’s ears, shopping with her sister Jewel or watching scary movies with her husband, she can be found writing on her laptop.
She’s addicted to shoes, chocolate, Dunkin Donuts coffee and JIMMY THOMAS covers!!!
This is an OK shifter romance, but Onyx was hard to like at first. He was just too much of a workaholic, and kind of grumpy. I also thought the couple was more in lust than in love. Because of those things, it gets 3 stars from me.
It features the typical shifter instalove on Onyx's part, and I appreciated that Azura didn't fall for him quite as quickly. But they were both definitely in instalust -- I actually felt like Azura was more in lust than in love for most of the book.
Onyx was hard to like at first. He was grumpy, and a total workaholic. He got a lot better after he met Azura, though, and was willing to do whatever it took to help her with her brother.
Azura was likable, and I liked that she had taken over care of her brother Martin after her parents died. She was having trouble with him, though, and didn't know how to handle him. Before Onyx showed up, Martin was on the road to becoming a common criminal.
There was anoother issue, which applies to most of Milly's stories -- they are too sexually explicit for me. The sex scenes in this book, and there were a lot of them, were just too explicit and dirty for my taste. I am not a prude, but the really explicit stuff is just not romantic to me. But I will continue to read Milly's writing, as it is entertaining and fun.
There was one other minor issue, and it did not affect my review, but it is a pet peeve of mine – the cover of a book should match the description of the characters in the book. Azura is described as having light brown hair. Yet the cover shows a woman with very dark, almost black, hair. This may not be the author’s fault, but it still bugs me.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Azura and her younger brother Martin are going through a hard time as she is trying to get their family home set up as a historical landmark. Things don't go as planned but they meet Geri Wilder who happens to be looking for a location like their home to have a charity event she informs Azura that she can have someone there to get things started and she and her brother will be the host and hostess for the event. Geri also lets Azura know that she has a perfect man for her and tells her what and who he is and where he lives. Geri invites him and he is a billionaire Duke named Onyx who hopes that Azura is his true mate and he cannot wait to meet her but he is so engrossed in Azura that once she comes out of the house doesn't see Geri and almost walks over her his attention is on his mate, she tells him to wait a while but Azura is interrupted later as she sees a police car in the driveway. Martin is in trouble again and they have come to arrest him they have him on video and more so without much of a problem Onyx flies away with them to his planet where they will stay for a while until his court date Onyx has already been trying to head off the situation. Azure and Martin are upset but for different reasons. Great characters and the storyline is very entertaining. Drama, suspense, adventure, romance, and love. Adult content. I read a copy via BookFunnel without obligation, I volunteered an honest review.
Azura Morrow has a family estate in shambles and her little brother is close to being a juvenile delinquent and thrown in jail. Then a chance meeting with Gerri Wilder results in a promise and plan to help turn the estate around. Onyx is a dragon shifter on Nova Aurora and is in no hurry to find a mate his friends have persuaded him to speak to Gerri Wilder who then calls to say she has found his mate. So Onyx needs to put his doubts aside and travel to Earth where he sets eyes on the curvy beauty and knows he will never be the same. But he soon learns that she won't make any time for anything loving until she can keep her brother on the straight and narrow - and Onyx is going to have to find a way to help him so that he can romance Azura and somehow get her to stay with him on his planet.
I enjoyed this story with much of the danger and drama involving the brother and not the sister. It was a nice change from a story just focused on the female. I felt that Onyx was very tolerant as I could have seen him being far more strict with her brother but it was great to see him treating her with such great care and consideration. It was great to have them experience a HEA and I enjoyed reading some more about Nova Aurora.
Onyx thinks he's finally ready to find his mate. Putting his work on hold to got to Earth is a little harder. Since the death of her parents, Azura has been more parent than sister to Martin. Right now, times are tough. Their lives seem to be falling apart. This is exactly when Gerri makes an entrance. Always the perfect timing. An unexpected trip to Aurora is needed to both by Martin some time and Onyx to get Azura to fall in love with him. Things aren't always as easy as we would like them to be. It will be an adjustment for all of them. If they each put in the effort, it will be well worth it. Another wonderful read for this author. This is my voluntary opinion of an early copy I received.
A human woman meets an elderly woman matchmaker who wants to help her repair her family estate. An alien male alpha dragon shifter and his 2nd in command meets an elderly woman matchmaker at a luncheon at his planet's royal castle. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to everyone. There are some twists and turns throughout the book. Happy reading!
A brilliant book not just for paranormal romance lovers. Showing the struggles of grieving, when your so young and your the one left to pick up the pieces. The twists and turns keep you on your toes. Just keep that box of tissues handy in the last quarter especially (you'll see what I mean). I received this book as an ARC but this is my honest review.
Gerri has done it again! Another great match and from my favorite planet of Nova Aurora! I loved the characters and really enjoyed the storyline! I absolutely love the PDA world and Milly keeps things so exciting and interesting! Very entertaining and enjoyable and I highly recommend! I am voluntarily leaving an honest review for this complimentary copy of this book
Absolutely love this stories from this planet. I loved that this story focused on how love can heal and renew. The brother felt lost until he found something to fight and live for. The sister allowed her mate to help heal her heart and soul with his love. Great story.
We are traveling back to Nova Aurora where our Gerri is out to work her magic one more time. She has a stubborn billionaire dragon businessman to convince that she knows best! And she usually does!!
Ah, here comes our matchmaker Gerri Wilder to save another day with her matchmaking ways. She works her magic everytime she enters the picture. It looks like our MMC is a magic worker as well. It's a good read though my mind can't process the transformation.
Flame Difference (Paranormal Dating Agency Book 55) by Milly Taiden. Azure is trying to bring up her brother and look after their family estate and failing. Until she meets Gerri Wilder.
Azura and her brother were having issues with different things all at once. Geri shows up looking for a place like hers for an event along with a perfect man for her. Onyx has been told by Geri to come to this event.
Reading these stories is like reading a Barbara Cartland novel (only with sex.) The stories are formulaic and so you know what to expect. Quick reading and you don’t have to get to involved with them.
Another wonderfully naughty and absolutely action packed paranormal romance adventure story with our favorite matchmaker extraordinaire Gerri Wilder from the Paranormal Dating Agency.
Loved the characters and the storyline and each book is just as good as the last book which was amazing so can't wait to read more in this series so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
4.5 Stars Just when I think I can't enjoy this series any more than I have, Milly Taiden comes along and exceeds my expectations. I can't wait for the next installation for this series.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
What a wonderful book I loved this one it was a little sad at first but love how Onyx helped Azura and her brother get through it even after er brother made such a monumental mstake.
This was a refreshing change from a lot of battling that normally happens between tribes. This actually deal with a real life situation. I just live this one.
She's back, Milly did not disappoint with this book📙 from her PDA series. This novella was filled with family, loyalty, drama, action, romance💖 and love💘.
