Fame and money have a way of complicating love.
Drummer John Kennedy can keep a beat, but he can’t hold a conversation, so he relies on actions to show he cares. Unfortunately, when he’s instantly intrigued by a spunky female mechanic, he can’t seem to convey the sincerity of his intentions. And the rejections don’t stop there. His own sister is pushing him away just when he could help her most.

Erin Hirsh’s life would be easier if God hadn’t given her a love for cars. Only her father understood her, and she’s losing him to dementia. Her brief romances have always backfired worse than a mistuned engine, and she refuses to give John the chance to wreck her heart. A rock star with a supermodel ex can’t possibly see anything in her.

At least that’s what she thinks until they find common ground in faith and their worsening family situations leave them each longing for a place to belong. Could God intend for this pair of opposites to belong together?

"Fans of Contemporary Romance will devour the second installment in the Rhythms of Redemption series. To Belong Together allows readers to slip into the colliding worlds of rockstar John Kennedy and auto technician Erin Hirsch as they battle old insecurities and search for a lasting sense of belonging. Conrad is a writer to turn to for faith-filled romance with depth and heart." —Amanda Cox, author of the 2021 Christy Book of the Year, The Edge of Belonging

"Emily Conrad delivers a contemporary romance that is pitch-perfect! With characters to root for, moving scenes to tug emotions, and a love story to swoon over, To Belong Together is as engaging as it is heartwarming. Conrad pens a richly-developed story layered with an evocative message—that the pursuit of man’s approval is an empty endeavor because our hearts are already validated, stamped by the love of God. Highly recommended!" —Rachel Scott McDaniel, award-winning author of The Mobster’s Daughter

After reading the first book in this series, To Bring You Back, I couldn't wait to dive into this one...and Emily Conrad did not disappoint!

I love how deep the faith elements are in these books. Sometimes in Christian books when characters speak of their convictions or faith...it's either very shallow or it is super cliche (think Christian Hallmark greeting cards). Not with Ms. Conrad's books.

These characters are so deep and so is their faith. It feels as if you're sitting discussing faith with a long-time friend. It flows naturally and draws you into the story. But they aren't perfect. They have real flaws that they have to turn over to God.

I knew I would love John from seeing him in the first book. He's quiet (which leads to some problems, but no spoilers!), but he cares deeply. Erin is a talker but is surprisingly insecure because she has a "man's" job as a mechanic.

Their interactives are thoughtful, supportive, and loving...even when misunderstandings and arguments arise.

If you love deep books with real, flawed, and raw characters, then this book is for you!

An okay story with some good lessons, but too much hot/cold in the relationship and miscommunication/no communication for me to fully enjoy it.

To Belong Together is a part of Emily Conrad's Rhythms of Redemption series - Christian contemporary romance fans, you have to add this series to your list!

From great comic relief, to heartfelt drama, to brokenness restored and a beautiful love story, Emily Conrad did a fabulous job with To Belong Together. If you liked the co-authored series by Karen Kingsbury and Gary Smalley "Baxter Family Drama – Redemption", you really need to read this book and the rest of the Rhythms of Redemption series!

Note: I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

To Belong Together is a wonderful addition to the Rhythms of Redemption series. These books are quickly becoming some of my favorite novels. They allow a peek into the world of the members of a rock band, yet the issues the characters face are really heart and faith issues. That was especially true in this story.

John had some serious trust issues and it was completely understandable. He really struggled with wanting to be loved, both by his family and by Erin, for himself and not for his money or fame. I felt for him as he had to deal with family members who resented him when he simply desired to be there for them.

Erin had big issues as well. After years of feeling as if she never quite fit in and was always overlooked, she carried a lot of insecurity about herself. She had trouble accepting that John, handsome and famous, actually had any interest in her. She had a lot of growing to do in her faith as she finally began to realize what her father wanted her to understand – that she was important and valuable to God just as He had made her to be.

I loved this emotionally charged story! Once again, I felt connected to all of these characters as if they were real people. I experienced their feelings, their doubts, their hurts, and their joys right along with them. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Once again, Emily has written a can’t-put-it-down love story with characters that draw you in and prompt you to cheer and cry right along with them. John and Erin’s story is one of God working through others to show his love, and bringing two people together who might not always believe that they fit. There are so many realistic life situations in this story, and readers will no doubt find moments and plots that resonate and touch their heart, as well as make them laugh! I loved this book and I recommend it to everyone! Even if you haven’t read the first book in the series (which you should!), this story is wonderful as a stand alone read and should definitely be placed at the top of your To Be Read pile! I received an advance copy from the author, but I'm so excited for this book that I also pre-ordered my own copy!

A drummer and a mechanic. I mean does it get any better then that!? To Belong Together is another wonderfully penned novel from Emily Conrad. And while it may seem to some that these two characters could only come together in a Hallmark way.....Conrad makes it more than that. It's more about two people (profession aside) that have some family issues, that happen to just let go when they are around each other. There's more to it then that of course, but you'll have to read to find out.

Erin and John just belong together - of course hence the title. But for real. They bring out good qualities in each other. It's kind of like when you meet the one who makes you act all goofy or different, you know they are the one. Hello Erin and John. I think it's part of the reason I liked their story so much. Erin was spunky, different, and her own person. Except even in that she allowed family to take advantage of her. John reminds her it shouldn't be like that. Then you have John, struggling with his own family dynamics and ability to communicate with others. And somehow Erin just gets him to open up (over time of course). It just really resonated with me how they brought their strengths to each other.

In addition to a great romance, Conrad writes a beautiful faith theme, and some great family dynamics. The storyline with Erin and her father really got the water works going. Grab a tissue. Or maybe three. And that's the other great part of Conrad's writing. She gives readers so many different emotions throughout the story, and I love going on emotional roller coaster rides like that. Sure, they can be tough lol, but they are so worth it!

Contemporary romance fans are sure to love To Belong Together. And while reading the first book in the series isn't necessarily required, I say it's a must anyways. It'll be great to get the back story on the band and some of the characters. Plus, it's just really good!! Highly recommend :)

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This story captivated my complete attention right from the start. Both main characters want to be seen as more than their chosen careers and the stereotypes associated with them. John's dogs are precious! Author approaches sensitive subjects with authenticity and grace. I love that this romance covered all aspects of relationships from emotional, spiritual, familial, physical, intellectual, etc. A sense of belonging can be fleeting but we always belong to God. We are His precious redeemed treasures in Christ, co-heirs clothed in His righteousness. Highly recommend this series!

An absolutely beautiful Christian romance written with tender care and emotional, moving dialogue. Both characters had difficulties and family drama but God’s love and faithfulness shone through. I also liked the unusual occupations of both characters. Couldn’t put it down.

To Belong Together is written by Emily Conrad. This is book two in the Rhythms of Redemption series. I have read book one - but you can read them as a stand alone.
Erin Hirsh is a different type of woman. She has grown up around cars. Most do not understand her. Her father does, but he is struggling with dementia. She is insecure in some ways due to holding a profession that is so male driven.
John Kennedy (who we met first in the first book) plays the drums in the band Awestruck and has family struggles of his own. His own sister is pushing him away. John is very interested in Erin. He has some deep wounds from past relationships.
This is a book of where opposites attract. They both bring out the good in each other. I love that the author created characters that had a deep Christian faith. With this faith they are facing trials of their own with their families. The author always writes such deep faith stories. This is a reminder of God’s grace - no matter how far we have fallen.
The cover is beautiful, the story is well written and the author has developed her characters wonderfully. Thank you to the author, publisher and Celebrate Lit for allowing me to read a copy of this book all thoughts are my own.

Three stars isn’t bad. If the book had been shorter I may have given it 4. I was pretty bored and unconnected with the characters until about 200 pages in then I was invested. I almost cried toward the end and I loved the ending. Beginning was a bit boring and the writing style wasn’t good enough to make the boring parts of the story interesting. This book should be like 100 pages shorter. I still liked it though.

I was so excited to read the next book in the Rythyms of Redemption series. Emily puts into words the struggles that we can identify with ourselves and how her characters overcome them. I love the storyline of Erin feeling like one of the guys and insecure but wanting to be loved as herself. And John putting himself out there even with the fear of rejection or that money is why women want to be with him. This is a great book and I can't wait to read more of the band members stories. Emily Conrad has you wanting to come back for more.

This book was enjoyable and I did like the plot of the story but I will say the last 30-40% of the book was a little annoying and tough to get through because of the miscommunication among the characters, especially the main leads. It was way too drawn out in my opinion and a lot of issues could’ve been solved so much faster if the main characters had just TALKED to each other!! But overall, I enjoyed the story and still rushed to finish the book (more so to just get to the finish line and finally see them work everything out 😅).

While sequels so often fail to reach the standard set by the original story, To Belong Together breaks the mold! This second book in the Rhythms of Redemption series captivatingly brings the reader deeper into the Awestruck world we came to love in To Bring You Back. Emily Conrad’s characters are so well-developed that they seem like friends, and I thoroughly enjoyed another visit with them!

Another thing I love about Emily’s writing is that she avoids aggravating, shallow conflicts that could easily be solved by a single level-headed conversation. Instead, she’s not afraid to address difficult, true-to-life subjects, and she handles them with the utmost honesty and grace.

As in all Emily’s novels to-date, Bible verses are not simply sprinkled in as an afterthought. Instead, Christ is central, and encouraging, Biblical truth is woven throughout the story so that reading is truly a faith-building experience. I could not recommend John and Erin’s story more highly, and I’m already impatiently waiting for Philip’s story to come out next!

I received an advance copy from the author. (Though, I’ve already ordered more to give to family members also hooked on the series.) My opinions and review are entirely my own.

I am a voracious reader when I enjoy a book and this book To Belong Together by Emily Conrad did not disappoint. I did not want to put it down and as always it left me wanting more. The Characters Emily has created makes you want to know more about them, how they deal with tough problems in real ways. She uncovers the inner voices we all have that can derail us from reaching for what we really want. In other words her characters get in their own way, just like we all do. The difference is with their faith in God they find away to work through tough situations and allow God to help them come to a solution, not always the one they thought they needed, but the one they truly needed.

I highly recommend this book To Belong Together and the whole Rhythms of Redemption Romances series. The series has multiple character development which leads you wanting more for all the characters. To say it plainly it is a Great Read.

Emily Conrad has crafted a heartfelt and emotional love story. The relationship between Erin and John was well-done and I cheered for them to finally get together. I liked that Erin isn’t your typical heroine in that she’s a technician and not afraid to get her hands dirty fixing her dream car. Both John and Erin carry wounds that threaten to keep them apart. You will speed read to the end to get a glimpse of their happily-ever-after.

I am enjoying Conrad’s novels about the band Awestruck. John’s, the drummer’s, story was top-notch. If you read the Christmas novella, you understand John’s hesitancy to get involved with women who see dollar signs. He almost misses his chance at love with a caring Wisconsinite.

This is one of my favorite storylines and I highly recommend Conrad’s latest treasure.

A wonderful reminder of where we belong!

I have enjoyed all of Emily Conrad's books and this is no exception. Our main female character comes in the form of a car technician which in many ways highlighted her unique beauty, as well as well worn insecurities. John is a great guy but he's also bound up in his own insecurities from current and past disappointments. These are insecurities he can't see beyond his good intentions towards people. You can feel the tension of misunderstanding and miscommunication between friends and family and when life shifts hectically, and wise friends share wisdom, when redemption comes, its a start but it feels authentic. Ultimately the wonderful truth shared in this book is how we each belong to God above all else, so that in the new relationships that are formed there's now a feeling of this more stable foundation.

From the moment I read the free short story with these characters that Emily shared with her email list, I knew I would love this series. I was definitely right!

To Belong Together is book 2 in a series. I so enjoyed book 1 and then book 2 came along...with the same amount of detail, connection, and engaging storyline! I am so invested in the stories of these rock band stars!

This book brings the story of John and Erin - both characters with depth and complexity, yet such relatable feelings and situations. I love that while they are relatable, they aren't your cookie cutter love story characters. I enjoyed every second of this book and their journey.

I definitely recommend this book - and while you don't have to read the book 1 before this to appreciate it, it does help certain parts of the story fit in better. Happy reading!

As with Book #1, this one brought the classic Conrad elements of strong faith and broken lives woven into a delightful and believable redemption story. A drummer who won't open up (until he meets the RIGHT girl) and an unconventional heroine who works in her father's garage. Misunderstandings that contribute to breakup and hopelessness - until divine intervention enters in and truth prevails. An enjoyable, faith-filled story that introduces the heart-throb members of contemporary Christian rock band Awestruck. I am eagerly awaiting book #3 and 4!! I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions are my own.

This is one of those stories that is a perfect example of opposites attract. I love how the author shows two characters from different lifestyles try to form a relationship. Erin is my favorite character because she is strong, independent and loves her family. As a woman who works on cars for a living she has this stigma placed on her. She was always helping her dad work on cars so it seemed natural that she would do it as a profession. Not everyone accepts her but she knows her dad supports her. As she faces him becoming less of himself due to dementia the memories are more precious to her now. Adding to her worry is the realization that her parents may lose the home they have lived in for so long. How can she find a way to save their home and keep her dad in the place he feels most connected to?

John has one of those professions that others envy. Being in a famous band as a drummer has skyrocketed his fame and he finds it hard to not be noticed in public. I did chuckle when he brought his car in for service at the shop Erin works out. She has no idea who he is and that may have shocked his ego a bit. One thing the author illustrates with John is the turmoil going on with John and his sister. His faith for some reason doesn’t sit well with his sister and their relationship holds on by a thread. I sympathized with John as he is removed as a groomsman in his sister’s wedding. The bitterness she has towards him makes me wonder what she holds against him.

The story is very emotional as Erin and John try to fit in. They each have doubts that they are accepted by others and this causes a problem between the two of them. I see pride peeking through their relationship as well as trust issues and communication. If only they could see that God loves them and is accepted by Him. How many of us have this need to feel accepted? Do we have problems expressing how we feel? Do we feel unwanted and not worthy? The word rejection plays a big part in Erin and John’s life. They both are afraid of rejection so they find reasons why relationships go wrong. They don’t want to open their heart because fear keeps them in chains.

I loved how the author gives readers an inside look at the struggles people face with insecurity and trust. We get so caught up in what other people think about us, we forget that God loves us unconditionally.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

I always LOVE reading Contemporary Christian Romance and when it is a book from a new author, that is even better. To Belong Together by Emily Conrad is Book 2 in the Rhythms of Redemption Romances series.

John Kennedy is an AMAZING Drummer, but he has learned is not good at having meaningful conversations. He really wants to express his interest in Erin Hirsh, a local mechanic, but he cannot seem to come up with the right words to let her know. Erin enjoys working on cars, but she feels life would be easier if she didn't believe God was calling her to be a mechanic. Erin has always had troubled relationships and she is scared to be involved in another relationship. She doesn't think John would be a good match for her, but then they found they have so much in common, including they are both on edge with family members. John and Erin are both just trying to find their place in this world. Will they be able to do so together? Will their faith play a role in bringing them together?

WOW, I was mesmerized by this book from the very beginning. I started reading and I could not put it down. I was totally BLOWN away by the Characters and Storyline. John and Erin both have a REALLY strong faith and it is evident throughout the book. The theme of the book is Finding a Place to belong after being so lonely from Family and Friends. I love how John and Erin both had each other in mind but were afraid to make the first move. I am so glad they did and were able to establish a relationship. Emily Conrad is fast becoming a favorite author as her writing style is one that captures the reader and keeps them intrigued in the book. I HIGHLY suggest this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Romance books. I am very much looking forward to reading more books in this Series. WONDERFUL BOOK!

This is book two in a fun contemporary romance series. Go find To Bring You Back by Emily Conrad and read it first. You’ll thank me if you do. This is definitely a fun series that builds on itself so you’ll do yourself a favor by reading the series in order. And hint hint this is at least a 4 (and a half) book series!

I have to tell you I’ve already read book #3 and you’re going to love it too! Each new book follows a character you meet in book one and you get peaks at what is going on with the characters you’ve already met and loved along the way too! I love books that bring back your favorite characters!

This book is going to bring drummer John to the forefront. He’s more of an introverted and shy guy which can cause issues. I can empathize with him on this because some people when they first meet me think I’m aloof and standoffish giving better than you vibes but honestly I’m just shy and a serious introvert who has trouble meeting new people.

Another thing I love about Emily’s books is that faith is right there in your face. She doesn’t hide it. The characters are real and raw and God is in their lives and in the book. You can’t read her books without knowing that they’re Biblically sound.

Grab this series! And then come back and let me know what you think of it!

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. All opinions expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC regulations.

To Belong Together by author Emily Conrad is the book two in the Rhythms of Redemption Romances Series. This Christian contemporary romance novel is easily read as a stand-alone if you have not already read the first book. This series is about members of a rock band and issues they have on a daily basis. What I loved is that author Conrad made the problems or issues everyday ones of faith and love.

This is the story of John, the band’s drummer, and Erin, a mechanic. The author did a fabulous job making these characters detailed and realistic. They each have so many layers that it was mesmerizing reading about them.

It was easy to become engaged with the characters and the story. With the beautiful writing style of Ms. Conrad, I felt like the characters were my friends and wanted them to succeed. The Christian message is inspiring!

This turned into an emotional read for me as I became more invested in the story and characters. The writing pulled me into the story and put tears in my eyes a few times. With topics of faith, family, love, and helping, this book has stayed with me and given me much to ponder.

I highly recommend this deeply moving novel. It would make a nice choice for a reading group because there is so much to discuss. I give it a 5 star rating. A copy was provided by Celebrate Lit, but these are my honest words.

I have seen this series on Instagram but I haven’t read it until this one was on sale for $0.99 on Kindle. I figured I would start a page or two to get a feel for the story, but then I couldn’t put it down. I just didn’t think I would be that interested in a series about rock stars. The main characters in this story are John and Erin. John is the drummer for a famous rock band and Erin is a mechanic. John is quickly interested in Erin, but Erin (not knowing who John is) is not interested in getting to know him. I thought she was rude at first, but it kind-of makes sense when you get to know her. Being a female mechanic she is usually considered a “friend” and not a “girlfriend”, so she doesn’t have much experience with romance. Her best friend was her dad until he developed dementia. In her mind he was the only man who appreciated her for who she is. She also works in a male-dominated profession and has to fight to keep her place even though she works with family. Because of all this Erin is suspicious of John’s motives and pushes him away. He is just adorable as he tries to get Erin’s attention. He’s used to people only wanting what they can get from his money or fame. His last girlfriend was a “gold-digger” and he is wary of fawning women. That’s probably one reason he’s so interested in Erin. After Erin seems to run him off for good, tragedy strikes and they are brought together again. It’s fun reading how their relationship develops and they fall in love. But they’re almost torn apart by miscommunication, misunderstandings, past hurts, and some awful family members. John turns out to be just as flawed as Erin. His inability to communicate with and trust Erin has a huge impact on their relationship. I really enjoyed this story and I look forward to reading the others.

I am sorry my Review was late but here it is. I lost my son to a hit and run on nov 16 2021 and stories with car wrecks are hard for me to read I am really trying to get back into the things I was before but it is taking a while.

I really loved this story but I had to stop reading a couple of times because the events that happened in it. Yes, there are car wrecks and death and those things are hard for me to read about but I keep picking up the book and I am so glad I did. Not only did those events impact me as I was reading, but these statements did as well.

“Trials don’t turn us into people we’re not. They expose who we really are.”

“You can love sacrificially because no rejection will change that you’re a child of God. Every other role comes and goes, but not that.”

This book is a story of learning to trust God and yes it really touched my mind and heart.

I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, this is the second book but I think a reader would enjoy it as a stand-alone if wanted.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.

To Belong Together by Emily Conrad
Rhythms of Redemption Series Book Two
John Kennedy, the drummer for Awestruck, wants to find what his friends Gannon and Addie found—true love and happiness. But, it is hard to trust when you’re rich and famous and have been burned, especially after his last girlfriend. So, when his new mechanic doesn’t recognize him…and he finds out she’s a Christian…hope blooms.
Erin Hirsh has never been girly. She’s taller than most men, and she loves tinkering with cars. Not high on the list as dating material. She’s fought hard to prove herself as a technician. It’s even harder being back here and working for her uncle and with her cousins, but she needed to move back because of her parents.
Between John’s trust issues and Erin’s insecurities, they keep misunderstanding each other’s motives. Especially when there are people around them helping add to the doubts they each have.
I love this page-turning series. Wonderful characters and storylines.

I enjoyed when I had the pleasure of reading the start of Emily Conrad’s Rhythms of Redemption Romances, To Bring You Back. I was excited to have the opportunity to read the second installment, To Belong Together. I was not disappointed. It was so good to read John and Erin’s story. The plot line is relatable to real life and the characters are those that can be easy to connect with. I loved it every single page of it.

To Belong Together is getting five stars from me. Readers who enjoy reading clean romantic fiction will want to read it and find for themselves how good it is. I look forward to reading the next book from the Rhythms of Redemption Romances series, To Begin Again.

I received a digital copy of To Belong Together from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

In the second book of the Rhythms of Redemption Romances series, the men of the rock bank Awestruck continue to face wounds of the past. John Kennedy, the drummer for the band, finds himself captivated by spunky mechanic Erin Hirsh. But hurts from his past, and her dad’s decline into dementia make it difficult for the two to come together.

I love how the author weaved this story together. Including the other members of their families and members of the rock band and their families, along with people from the community kept my interest. I believe I have not read the first book in this series, but that did not diminish my enjoyment of this story. I definitely want to read more books in this series. I also suggest reading the books in order. So check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

To get the full experience, I suggest reading the novella ‘An Awestruck Christmas Medley’ first. You’ll learn about John’s past relationship and why he had a hard time trusting people.

But anyway, this one was my most favorite one in the entire series! Mostly because I feel for John when he saw the people around him having someone to share their life with. Wondering, “Why am I the only one single?” and “Why haven’t I met anyone yet?” But then again, John still had to learn how to overcome his trust issue from his ex and sisters. And there’s also Erin, with her own problems to overcome.

Tho John's the quiet type and that led him and Erin to some misunderstandings, I really enjoyed their banter. Like when they met for the first time, and Erin though John was a weirdo 😂 But you gotta read it yourself if you want to know why 🤭
