I am loving this series, it is a great cosy mystery romance set in a beautiful small town on the beach and Clara the hairdresser can’t help herself but investigate again when their yoga teacher is poisoned this of course leads to danger for her and then there is the relationship with her boyfriend Lucas and trouble brewing with ex-boyfriend Adam Billings the cop.

When the yoga teacher Emerald is poisoned this starts an investigation and some revelations about her true identity, then Gigi Clara’s assistant hairdresser’s boyfriend Ollie vanishes are the two related? Clara can’t help herself after the hair salon is broken into on the night of the masked ball, and she discovers Ollie dead and some more evidence.

Senior Constable Adam Billings is throwing himself into the investigation to try and discover the truth, he is also thinking constantly about Clara and worrying whether or not Lucas is the right person for her. Convinced that Emerald and Ollie’s deaths are linked he then finds himself in trouble and in hospital, this pushes Clara to dig deeper and of course more danger.

Clara is good at investigating murders and again uncovers the killer but it seems her premonitions are starting up again she loves Lucas but with Adam so close things are getting more troublesome for her. This is really a great series with wonderful characters and a fabulous setting, I was guessing till close to the end, Megan Mayfair writes wonderful stories that pull her readers in and keep them turning the pages, I can’t wait for the next one to see how life turns out for Clara. I do highly recommend this story and the series.

My thanks to the author for my copy to read and review.

I was so thrilled to receive a copy of The Perils of Poison by Megan Mayfair (Book 3) from the author, I loved the other books in the Lemon Tree Bay Mysteries series.

It was fabulous being back in the charming coastal town of Lemon Tree Bay along with Clara and the other familiar characters.

If you enjoy sleuthing I can highly recommend this cosy mystery where there is absolutely never a dull moment. I love Megan’s writing, she has a wonderful talent for storytelling and writes an engaging and fast flowing tale.

In the first chapter we encounter the sudden death of Emerald the local yoga teacher who is poisoned during a yoga class that Clara is attending and as usual Clara gets herself involved by going off amateur sleuthing the situation.

There’s a masked Ball event happening and Clara’s mother Willow is being extremely mysterious, meanwhile Gigi (Clara’s hairdressing assistant) is going through a distressing situation.

On the romance front for Clara will her current love life take a new direction? Lucas is spending a lot of his time in Melbourne and it’s putting a strain on the relationship. Secretly I am cheering on Adam the local senior constable to win her over!

A captivating story, I loved the cast, Clara’s sixth sense, the plot and of course Sunflower the spaniel, I am totally hooked on this series! Highly recommended.

Thank you Megan for sending us a copy to read and review.
It’s time to put your sleuth hats on as we return to Lemon Tree Bay.
A town we know with familiar faces.
A town that is no stranger to crime and romantic triangles.
A place that feels comfortable for me and one I like to revisit.
The sudden death of the yoga teacher heightens the vibe around town and has the police on alert.
The disappearance of a young guy points toward sinister activity.
Poison is the culprit but who and why would do this?
Clara is once again in the thick of the investigation.
Her ex is the local cop and she maintains a long distance relationship with Lucas in Melbourne.
She has an uncanny ability to discover the truth in these murky situations.
Will crossing the line be a risky and dangerous scenario?
Will her love life hit a cross road?
It’s always a joy to read a Megan Mayfair book.
A mystery thread, romantic webs and a likeable cast make it a pleasure.
A read that has me trying to guess and I will confess I didn’t guess this one.
This is part of a series and I love the direction these stories take and wonder what the future holds for the cast.

Megan Mayfair has done it again! The third book in the Lemon Tree Bay mystery series is just as great if not better than the first two. I really love a good cozy mystery and these books have it all. Murder, mystery, intrigue, and a little romantic drama as well.

The series centers around Clara Mitchell. She is a local hairdresser and amateur detective. She has been dating Lucas for a while now and their relationship looks to be heading in a more permanent direction. Claras ex-boyfriend, Adam Billings, a local cop, is also around and often causes trouble between Lucas and Clara.

Clara and her mother regularly attend a local yoga class. One evening the class ends abruptly when the yoga teacher keels over dead from an apparent poisoning. This sets off an investigation that leads to finding out the yoga teacher wasn't who she said she was and the disappearance of Gigi's (Claras assistant at the salon) boyfriend, Ollie. Is it possible he disappeared because he was involved in the yoga teacher's death? We soon find out that there is more going on in the small town than anyone could tell from the outside. Adam is convinced the death of the yoga teacher and Ollies disappearance are related. After he is targeted with a lower dose of poison, Clara is determined to figure out exactly what's going on. Putting herself in danger yet again. Can Clara find out what's going on, before another person is hurt?

I really love this series, so I went ahead and pre-ordered this one awhile back. As with the others, I was not disappointed. The characters of the story are so rich and well written, it's hard not to fall in love with them and get caught up in their lives. I found myself trying to decide who to root for when it comes to who Clara should be with, Adam or Lucas. They both have good qualities so it's a hard choice. This book ended on somewhat of cliff hanger in regard to Claras love life and I have to admit, I cannot wait for the next book. The mystery itself, as usual, is well written and the setting is absolutely perfect. Makes me want to live in Lemon Tree Bay. I highly recommend this series and definitely look forward to more.

The Lemon Tree Bay Mysteries is like coming home to people and places that feel so familiar. Megan Mayfair is a master world-builder and can craft a story so absorbing that the reader is completely drawn in. The Perils of Poison raises the question of how far would you go for a cut of the action - in more ways than one. There's the bad guys and the mystery to unravel, as well as matters of the heart for many of the Lemon Tree Bay residents. Who wins, who loses and who ends up dead? Another superb cosy romantic mystery. With Book 4 in the works, I'm counting the days until I'm back in Lemon Tree Bay again.

We like Adam? We don’t like Adam? We like Adam?
We love Lucas, or don’t we?
I took away a star because I’m not sure I’m a fan of this back and forth for Clara.
Otherwise cozy read with a semi predictable mystery.
Holding out hope that the last book in this series doesn’t disappoint

Review: This is by far my favorite of this series so far! The mystery was great! The romance plot has thickened and it ended on such a cliff hanger! Megan Mayfair how could you do that??? I need book four right now! I loved seeing more of Gigi! I hope we see more of her in future books she is fun to read about! I get excited when she appears in a scene. I adore sunflower! One day it would be nice to have such a sweet dog as she is! This is so much better than watching a hallmark mystery movie!

I received a free book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. It is comforting to start reading a book and recognise many of the characters, it makes it like family. Clara lives with her Mother, Willow and they are doing a yoga class along with Adam Billings, a Police Officer when the Instructor collapses and dies. On investigation, she has been murdered and turns out to have stolen another person's identity. Nothing appears to be what it should be. Clara has a long distance boyfriend but used to go out with Adam and she has visions. Her reoccurring vision if of having a small boy that looks like Adam and they are old friends.

Ollie, the boyfriend of GiGi, Clara's assistant hairdresser is also found murdered and a Jeweller. It is a mystery as to what has happened and are the incidents linked but when Adam is poisoned and is rushed to hospital, it leaves the way for Clara to try her sleuthing and puts herself in danger of being murdered herself. The story gets more interesting as the heads are linked together and involves Lucas, the long distance boyfriend. Will there be able to be another series after what happens to Clara and Adam? Will Lucas return to Lemon Tree Bay?

It is good that Clara and Willow get on so well and that Adam is regarded as part of that family and how they all look out for each other. It is a feel good book with the relationships that intertwine during the course of the book.

The Perils of Poison is Book 3 in the Lemon Tree Bay Mysteries by Megan Mayfair. I really like the characters in this series. I find that Megan Mayfair has progressed the characters in a logical manner and she has brought in new characters that keep each book fresh. Clara and her mum, Willow, live together in Lemon Tree Bay. When their yoga teacher dies at the end of their class, it begins another adventure and mystery. Besides the murder, the other theme is the long distance relationship between Lucas and Clara. I believe that this is an excellent cozy mystery with clues unfolding the mystery as I tried to figure out everything. The ending was unexpected and so perfect. I am really hoping that book 4 is written quickly so I can see what happens next! I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

This series has become such a comfort for me. I was so happy when I saw it available on Booksprout and immediately requested it!

Clara is at it again with sleuthing another crisis in Lemon Tree Bay. This time, however, poison is involved. Clara’s boyfriend Lucas is living in Melbourne leaving her to spend more time with her ex-boyfriend Adam who is still very much in love with her (and who I’m rooting for for sure I honestly can’t stand Lucas). Love triangles, a masquerade ball, mysterious poisonings; truly a great, cozy time all around.

I would love to see more of Clara’s “visions” play a bigger role in the crime solving. But, I do like that we get to see it somewhat in her personal life. I also think that much of this book was more about the Lucas-Clara-Adam love triangle than the sleuthing, and a better balance would’ve been more enjoyable for me.

HOWEVER. THE CLIFFHANGER AT THE END.

Can’t wait for the book 4.

Thank you Booksprouts and Megan Mayfair for the advanced copy.

Thank you to Booksprout and author Megan Mayfair for the advanced copy of this book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

We’re back in Lemon Tree Bay with Clara, Gigi, and Adam. While Lucas is in Melbourne for work, Clara and Adam are involved with a new mystery when their yoga instructor has an unfortunate demise during class. Who did it? And why?

Clara and Lucas’ relationship is put to the test as they deal with the distance and Adam’s presence isn’t helping matters, either.

I adored this third installment and cannot wait for book 4. (Please tell me we don’t have to wait too long, Megan!) Megan Mayfair does an excellent job of drawing you into the story and characters of Lemon Tree Bay. I’m so glad that I found her books in 2021!

this is the book I thought I had missed: the resolution of things with Clara, Adam and Lucas

why on earth is Clara so determined to turn away from her visions of a future with Adam? He hurt her by taking her for granted, but he has wanted the best for her since he has been back in Lemon Tree Bay- even if that included Lucas.

What does Lucas want ? Allegedly Clara, but really a future with a suitable partner. he seems more than a bit spoiled and over pampered.

Gal pal Gigi and her missing lover are just jagged pieces of another mystery.

Can they manage to survive- and to work things out?

Suspense filled romance and intrigue.

Clara’s yoga class is disrupted when Esmerald, the instructor, is poisoned. Gigi is Clara’s colleague, and her boyfriend Ollie has disappeared. Is there a connection? Senior Constable Adam Billings has a lot on his mind, not least of all Clara is going out with one his arch enemies, but he is convinced that the two events are connected. Clara is determined to solve the murder and disappearance. Her investigations lead her into dangerous situations, but she is determined to protect her family and friends.
This is book three in the Lemon Tree Bay Mysteries, each book is a stand-alone, but also a joy to read as you get to catch up with characters you’ve met in her previous books. A delightful cosy romantic mystery that kept me engrossed from start to finish. Can’t wait for book four!

This is book three in this series and Clara has a new sidekick in Sunflower, a cocker spaniel. Sunflower can’t stand Lucas, Clara’s boyfriend. I love the suspense in this books and how Clara always gets mixed up in the cases, even though her ex Adam tells her to let him and his partner, Tim, handle the police work. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. I have to say I didn’t care for how this book ended, so that’s why I only gave this great story four stars. Overall, this is a great series and I’ve enjoyed all the books.

Clara continues to act as a detective to discover the mysteries of the small town of Lemon Tree Bay. The author uses a third person perspective to follow different characters, which amplifies the mystery as you see different characters' theories and attempts and figuring out the murderer. Also, this book really is where the love triangle between Clara, Lucas (her future-planning, sensible but safe boyfriend), and Adam (her ex-boyfriend who she keeps having visions about their future) comes to peak! As the story progressed, the author's writing and plot development has gotten stronger and I'm eagerly waiting for the (what I believe to be) the final installment!

Fun enjoyable book to read. I enjoyed the characters. They were fun and different. Gigi, her fun hairstyles and clothing! Clara always getting into trouble. Willow, wearing very unusual clothes and drinking different kinds of teas. What was going on with Emerald? Who poisoned her? Is Clara and Lucas romance going to within stand the long distance?

And it's another 5 stars from me as this epic Ozzie series continues! I just love the Lemon Tree Bay community and all its characters, and this instalment was such a gripper. Clara finds herself unable to resist the carrot dangle of solving another smalltown crime, no matter how much we're shouting at her not to in our heads - and occasionally out loud!. I thought I'd sussed out the perpetrator... but was wrong in this book yet again (hats off to Mayfair for the brilliant red herrings), and now I can't wait to see how this Lucas-Clara-Adam love triangle resolves itself...

The Perils of Poison is the third installment of the Lemon Tree Bay Mystery Series written by Megan Mayfair. If you enjoy reading cozy mysteries you’ll really enjoy this, the plot is well thought out and I thoroughly enjoyed the twists and trying to solve the murder mystery. This mystery has a spark of romance and elements of fun, humour, a spunky heroine and a smear of cloak and dagger.

I just don’t think this is my groove. I love a romance but this has taken three books and still no answers. I’m not into the mystery so I’m only invest in who she ends up with. All three books have the same plot with different characters basically.
