I really am enjoying this series. This book was even better than the first. I’ll be starting the next one right away. I’ve been reading a lot of fantasy novels lately. So many of them go into too much detail about “channeling magical energy” but this series keeps it those details simple, focusing more in the characters and situations (i.e. the sequels to Fourth Wing, Heretical Fishing, Im not the Hero). This sequel truly shines! I love that this book moves things along quickly and gets to the point. So much happens in this book. This book is a bit different how it switches the focus away from Linc, dedicating almost every other chapter to Ben or El. I don’t always like when books do that, but it seems necessary given the circumstances of whats going on. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys magic. Personally, I’m enjoying it even more than Percy Jackson or Harry Potter. It would make a great tv series, although in this time of endless options with streaming, I don’t know if it would get the lasting attention that it deserves. I’d be devastated if it was canceled early! 10/10

Just as good as the first!
If you let it, this book will keep you up at night. Amazing sequel to The Chain Between Worlds with an ending that will have you asking for more.
