A bad boy alpha, an uptight omega, and the baby they didn’t expect…
Atlas :
Newly crowned as pack Alpha, I’m trying to get my act together, which is the opposite of accidentally getting an ex-military, bossy, jaw-droppingly-hot human pregnant.
Not just any human. My fated mate.
David is nothing like the fawning omegas I usually romp with. He’s stoic, brave as balls, and as stubborn as... me. And this enticing human omega makes me swoon like no one else. My wolf is all-in. Hell, so am I. Claiming him? Easy. He needs to be a wolf shifter for a safe pregnancy. Convincing him to raise our pup with me? Impossible. David is immune to Darlington’s small town charms—and mine.
The pack’s enemies are closing in, I’m scrambling to protect our land, and I can barely get David to go on a date. But my reputation in Darlington is true—I’m reckless, impulsive, and tenacious. I’ll do whatever it takes to win him over.
David :
I haven’t had a heat in years, so why do I have morning sickness after a date with a broad-shouldered, smug-smirking, burning hot alpha? Now I’m tied to Atlas — who is not my type — forever.
My impossible dream of fatherhood is actually happening! Becoming a wolf shifter to have a baby? It’s a no-brainer, I’d do anything to be a dad. But after my medical discharge from the military, I’m searching for a purpose. One that’s far, far away from this small town and its smoking hot pack Alpha.
I’d be out of here in an instant—if my health issues didn’t flare up every time my reckless mate got hurt. The pack needs a military strategist, and It’s on me to keep Atlas in line. But as a battle threatens to destroy Darlington, my baby’s papa is proving himself to be loyal, courageous, and…exactly the type of man I want to raise kids with.
Will I rule beside Atlas? Can he support me through my health issues? Or will his impulsiveness cost us everything?
If you love unusual characters, binge-worthy plots, and steamy romance with lots of heart, curl up with Dylan Reece’s omegaverse mpreg novels. Dylan’s series are set in a shared universe with cross-over characters and detailed world building that will transport you to quirky small town Darlington.
In this second book of the series, the mating compulsion, the fated mates attraction, hits our resident wolfie playboy Atlas, twin to Red from book 1, smack dab in the chest when he comes upon David, recently discharged soldier, human who hasn't had a heat cycle in years and is presumed infertile.
Atlas has only just begun to lead the pack, and the power transfer ceremony hasn't quite ended when the bears cause trouble. So Atlas, who didn't want the pack leader position, has to step up to the plate and figure out a way to keep his fated mate.
It's a good continuation of the series, and I liked these MCs a bit better than the ones in the first book.
The story was good but I keep thinking, why all of the angst. Then I remember that certain readers need it to find the book exciting. To me the back drop of the story is more interesting than the sex, sex, and sex in it. The author should look at the story and figure out if the want to write porn or true M/M stories.
David is around 28 (he says a decade ago in his first year of college his heats stopped). He’s ex-military, disabled, and awesome. He’s average height but muscular. I appreciated he was a complete military badass, can carry basketball player through the woods even though Mars is a foot taller than David, AND David grew up loving to play with dolls and plan his wedding (I can’t relate to either but I love it)! Like Atlas, David had a dad who decided not to come home one day. He’s close to his mom, though, and has two brothers. I loved that David believed Atlas initially when he basically communicated all he was in for was one fun night, and then planned his future accordingly. I appreciated he wanted to get to know Atlas before he believed his “sudden” turnaround (I think Atlas has always been a good guy, he just felt lost but was working on it). And that he was perfectly willing to raise a kid on his own like his mom had after his dad died. That when he decided to stay it was because he wanted to, not because he had to.
Atlas is a playboy and part time laze-about in the process of reforming himself after taking on the role of leader in his pack. He’s never been a bad guy but he let his hurt feelings and daddy issues make him less reliable than he really is. He’s enamored with David from the start and fairly quickly (but not instantly) realizes he does want a family and partner if it’s with David. I had to laugh when after David shoo’d him away after they first slept together, Atlas was sad and like “omg, is this what all my one night stands feel like?” Lol, no, baby, it’s really not. None of the people he’s slept with seem to want more than he did, which was a fling. Atlas slowly begins to realize he’s worth more than he initially thought, and he works to be more stable both for his pack and his partner. I also hugely appreciated that he didn’t get belligerent when David said he didn’t want to stay in Darlington. Atlas just does his best to show him how good it could be instead of punishing David.
One thing I forgot to mention about this series is how much I love that the bonding process is NOT RAPEY. It doesn’t even have to take place during sex. And no one mind controls anyone else, and no one dominates anyone else (unless they’re into that, then it’s fair game). I also love that girls can be alphas too (like Leo’s twins). You’d be surprised how hard that is to find.
I also love that the book doesn’t end as soon as the MCs get together, and that we get to see more of their lives once they’re an established couple.
As with the other books, a chunk of the world building is kind of hand wavy and seems to be built to service the plot. However, these are fluffy short PNR novels and the information is conveyed without info dumping or having the people in the book be total idiots, so I wasn’t very bothered. Maybe just a bit of a pacing issue. Also there was a bit of an editing issue where a couple times something was discussed or referenced, only then later the character learned about it, or referring to Caspian as an omega first (an ex of Atlas’s) and then an alpha later on. It also still has the issue of confusing roadblocks. Like Jonathan having Peter sell his business and move in with him before saying a word about wolves. Like Shayne thinking Red not outing his pack in the 4 days they’d known each other being a betrayal. In this one it was Atlas for no discernible reason thinking he should keep Ko and the war with the bears a secret from his military-trained pregnant wolf mate. Like…what? But it all works out.
If it was proofed a bit more, and if David had gotten to actually do anything badass (he’s not an idiot and he’s cranky in an endearing way, which I love, but he didn’t really do anything), I’d have easily given this 5 stars. I didn’t adore it as much as I’d hoped, but it was still a fun book.
All in all, even with the little niggly things that could be cleaned up, I’m having a blast with this series! I’d recommend reading it if you like the genre at all. I was thrilled to have this stubborn, butch-ish couple.
Atlas’s Accident is the story of how David and Atlas meet and fall in love. Sounds straightforward? Not so much. David is ex-military having just been kicked back into civilian life as a result of developing life changing migraines. He is lost but not without friends and families. One friend, his best friend that is, is Mars, a professional basketball player. Mars collects David outside the military hospital to take him home to be with his mother. Mars has other plans. He wants to spend a few days with his friend hiking and camping. Mars is also recuperating from a knee injury. That knee injury is going to prove life changing for them both. The pair inadvertently stray into an area where bear shifter territory butts onto wolf shifter territory. Mars’ knee gives up and a bear ‘attacks’ them. They manage to escape when a wolf tackles the bear. As the two friends struggle to make their way back to where they left their car a man approaches them and takes them to a much nearer town to get medical treatment for the knee injury.
Atlas is the man and, being a werewolf, he has been drawn to David who is his fated mate. We are in the world of alphas and omegas whether male or female. Omega males can get pregnant if they get together with an alpha male. This is true of humans and shifters. As is normal for these societies, shifters are hiding in plain sight. There are other problems when a shifter gets together with a human. We are not just talking about revealing the existence of shifters. One of these problems is going to mean David has to change his plans for his future. He finds himself in a different world where different types of shifters have to get on with each other while keeping the human population ignorant. Shifters do not always get on with each other and trouble between wolves and bears is about to erupt.
We get to follow Davis and Atlas as they work out how to live with each other. They make good company as do all the wolves from the pack. There are probably too many people tearing up over babies for my tastes and I would have preferred David to keep more of his ‘don’t mess with me’ attitude. I’m going to blame the hormones flying around. Some of the plot developments are telegraphed ahead of time to be sure but there are still plenty of surprises to be had within these pages. I was not surprised at all about the Mars storyline but that is mostly as a lead into the next book in the series. Atlas’s Accident is a fun read with some exciting moments.

The good + Atlas's drive to be a good pack Alpha + Atlas showing vulnerability to David + Atlas proving to David he'd be a responsible and loving father + David's approach to conflict management with the twin girls + Jake. He's the best + Atlas making everyone clothes as a sign of affection. It really was his love language +
The neutral o Mars was a pretty bad friend with his you're pregnant? ok cool gotta go bye reaction, but I guess he had more on his mind o David quit the military, but he never raised the topic of what he would do from now on. Is he just gonna be a stay-at-home dad? I mean it's fine, but I don't think it fits with his character o Atlas was a pretty lousy pack Alpha, even though he tried his best
The bad - The plot point about Atlas and Red's parents was opened and not resolved in this book, while the stories of both Red and Atlas have been told now. I don't like that their story will be resolved in a book not about either of them - The communication between everyone within the pack was atrocious. I think it happened over twenty times that something was hinted at, the main character whose POV we were currently in realized something was off, and then it was all brushed aside. It happened with Mars, it happened with Rohan, it happened with Carol, it happened with everyone - Red was a dick to Atlas, when he really didn't have so much reason to be anymore, and I think he got away with a too simple apology - When the baby was born, they all acted like he was an alpha, while they can't know that yet until the first shift. It made it seem like the kid being an omega would be a disappointment, and I already feel bad for the kid
I expected more of this book. I think too many storylines were picked up, but not enough were resolved and the timelines were off. Especially the bear thing went from urgent to dormant to urgent at random intervals. I really looked forward to this one, but to me, it didn't deliver. I don't think I'll read Rohan's book anymore, because I like my shifter packs to be tight-knit families, and this pack isn't really.
It was complicated rating this one, on one side I really like the story between Atlas and David, I loved seeing how their relationship developed. We start to see how Atlas really was behind the mask that he's been using all these years to cover his insecurities and I came to like his character a lot. David is my favorite in this world so far, he's so honest and upfront about everything, he was really refreshing. The "I'm a wolf shifter" and "I'm pregnant" scene at the beginning was spectacular. This one wasn't as insta-love on the human side as the other books, David is more practical about things and he liked analyzing the situation instead of just relying on feelings, but once he decided that the best course of action was to stay he was all in.
And on the other side, we have the issue with the bears. I already thought that this situation was treated in the other books as filler to be used when convenient but it was worse in this book. Atlas as a mate, friend and family member was amazing but as pack alpha he was a bit disappointing specially when taking care of the bear issue. After rescuing Peter and Millie, his plan was, for lack of a better word, dumb... I don't even understand why he thought that the bears would just go "oh, ok, we'll stop bothering you" after what they've done. And when things went south because his plan didn't work..... he comes up with a reckless "plan" that was even dumber than the first one, he did tried listening and following David's plan for a few days but he got tired of waiting and almost got himself killed.
At the end we get David's mother dropping a bomb on them but nothing more is cleared and I don't understand where the author wants to do with that piece of information.
Overall, I liked the love story but not the rest of the plot. Luckily, most of the book is about them and their relationship with each other and their family and friends. I absolutely loved those cozy moments, and the times when they shifted and explored and played as wolves were really perfect.
POV: dual, both main leads ( epilogue told from next book's main lead) Tropes: unexpected pregnancy, fated mates, found family, wolf shifter/human, ex-military MC. Spice: medium (detailed scenes) CW: violence, blood.
David is ex military and an omega who hasn't had a heat in ten years. After his final medical checkup, his friend, Mars McCauley, convinces him to take a hike. What neither expected were to be in the middle of a war among shifters. As his friend snaps his ACL, David tries to get him to safety, until a large wolf lands on him-trying to keep him safe.
Suddenly everything shifts around him, but he doesn't have time to think about any of that, but fate doesn't leave him a choice.
Atlas is an alpha twin and the new pack leader. His brother, Red, met his mate n a previous book and transferred the role of pack responsibilities to him. Now newly minted, the hits just kept coming - learning the role, wondering if he's good enough, a battle for land with the local bears and his fated mate. Atlas helps David get Mars to Dr. Rohan Holt (where we discover both the athlete and the doctor have been keeping a secret). Things move rather quickly from there.
What should have been one night of passion, ended with a surprise pregnancy. David is surprisingly really accepting of the shifter world and knows what he must to do ensure a safe pregnancy. What he is unsure about is his ability to have a relationship with Atlas. Of course, Atlas has to make whatever changes necessary to help his mate and their pup, even if it means letting them go. With each passing moment and event, neither are willing to let go-yet are too stubborn to fully let their guard down. Fate always finds a way. As it turns out, Atlas and Red's father had not been completely truthful about so much regarding their birth parent and so many other pertinent details that formed who these men are in the present. David's mother, Carol, holds many keys to the past and more of their connections have begun to come full circle. Left open ended, we hope to close the book on these wounds as the series progresses. Up next, Rohan and Mars.

That was pretty cute. I was so excited to read Atlas's story after the end of the previous book, with that shocking cliffhanger, and to finally see him redeem himself and be the alpha the Darlington pack deserves. And well, I was not disappointed per se, but there were a few (minor, I guess) niggles that prevented me from enjoying it as much as the previous book. First things first, the good. The plot was pretty addicting, the prose was phenomenal and the whole cast of characters was absolutely wonderful: I loved seeing Peter and Shayne a bit more, I loved Red, even when he was being an asshole, I loved Rohan and the twins and Mars and all the other side characters that appeared (new and old faces!). I loved David, one of the MCs, to BITS: he's such a fantastic character, a badass with a sweeter, vulnerable side that absolutely undid me, and I really, really felt for him and all of his struggles. Atlas, on the other hand, although he does redeem himself (and he does that pretty sweetly on the manwhore front, at least! He's so protective and smitten with David), I was still irritated with him for half of the book: he's desperate to prove himself as pack alpha, but instead of seeking help and maybe asking his twin for a hand, he makes pretty bad decisions and he recklessly puts his life in danger a lot. I got pretty frustrated with him, although I did kind of understand his viewpoint and the reasoning behind all that recklessness. The romance was pretty lovely though: sweet and a tiny bit sexy (not "Red Hot Fate" steam levels though, alas *sighs mournfully*), both of them overprotective of the other and both of them desperate to keep the other happy and safe. I'm curious to read the next book, although it has the dreaded teacher/student subplot I absolutely loathe: hopefully it's not too prominent!
The first thing I noticed was the fantastic handling of the dialog among the characters. It was very natural and realistic and pulled me into their story easily.
Atlas is the new pack Alpha and has lots of “stuff” coming at him to keep him scrambling. He also has an Omega fated mate, David, who is ex-military and as stubborn as Atlas. David hadn’t had a heat in years, but after one-night with Atlas, David is pregnant! The bossy Omega will not make Atlas’ life easy and with pregnancy added to the mix, you know poor Atlas will be lucky to survive to fatherhood. But after David’s medical discharge from the military, he wants to find his purpose in life – and he’s looking to find it far, far away from this small town he finds himself in. Will what he sees in Atlas change his mind and convince him he will find all he needs right there with the Darlington Pack and his mate?
I really loved this story and its perfect pacing that kept me engaged. The characters are so different, believable, and sometimes exasperating. But the overall feel of the story line is positive and enjoyable. Grab your copy and see whether Atlas can hold them all together to fight their enemies and protect their land.
I loved this book. Reading the last two books, I had said that Red was my favorite character, but after this book, Atlas has taken that spot. I really felt for him at times in the way he was treated or how he was seen sometimes in comparison to his brother Red, the previous alpha. This book was wonderful in that it shows how differently one person or character can be seen through different eyes. I thought Red was wonderful in his book. Here, there were times I wanted to smack him. But it's life- it shows us that there are different facets and layers to people. Seeing Red through Atlas's eyes in this book isn't the same as seeing him in the previous book. And the same goes in reverse- seeing Atlas here as opposed to through Red's eyes in the last book was also different. I felt really connected to him. He has a lot of responsibility now- not just to his pack and the dangers they are facing, but to David, who is now pregnant with his child. Great chemistry between these two, even if David can be very stubborn. Great world building and dynamic between shifters and even humans in this book. An exciting storyline. I really enjoyed this, and can't wait for Mars's book next. 5 stars.
This book left me with whiplash, several times. Issues were brought up, then mulled over and made to feel quite dramatic, and then decisions were made hastily with no real reasoning, and no communication happened after. This happens within the main romantic relationship highlighted in the story, where the relationship just moves by leaps and bounds with no real communication, depth or growth. The twin brothers in this story continue where they left off in the last book, which is supportive but belittling with no discussion as to why they are upset. The conflict with the local bear shifters is handled poorly, repeatedly, as the pack alpha is determined to lead his pack well but then decides just....nah, more than once. The book also ends on a pretty big cliffhanger, like the first one, but I didn't get emotionally invested enough to find out what happens next. Honestly, the relationship I want to know the most about is how Atlas and Jake became such good friends, to continually trust each other as allies from different packs, but it doesn't look like that is going to be explored. This one was just a miss for me.
This is the second full length book in the Darlington Pack series. I was drawn in from the first page and read it as soon as possible though to the end. It is action packed with enough sweet and softer moments. This story picks up where the first left off. Atlas and David find each other as fated mates and all that entails needs love, attention and work. We also follow the whole pack with their troubled bear sleuth neigbours with Ko as head.Which can only be resolved with help from bears inside of the sleuth. Carol, David his mom has connections with Atlas and Red their father which gives rise to questions which might be answered in the following book. And we are introduced to Mars, David his best friend and find out what his relation is to a member of the pack, but that story continues in book 3. For this book Atlas and David find their hea with their sweet son and we get to check in with many of the early characters. I can't wait for the next book and highly recommend this series if you like humans, wolfshifters, shifters and mpreg.

This was honestly so good, I wish I could give more than five stars. I am hooked on this series. It's one of my favorites and I will be happily adding them to my comfort reads list. The carefree playboy twin now turned alpha Atlas Doran does not do relationships. He enjoys omegas of all kinds then he moves on. No nonsense David Freeman has better things to worry about than some hot as sin alpha he met by accident during a hike turned diaster. He is fresh out of the military and trying to find what happens next in his life. Neither one of them expect one night of passion to turn into something more. Now, pregnant and forced to decide whether or not he wants to let his fated mate Atlas turn him into a shifter (Yes, those exist, what a bombshell to just drop). Between falling in love, fated mates, and an impending war, will these two give in to what their wolves want or will they give up? Read this wonderful series to find out. . Atlas, comes out from the shadows and Alpha's up! It really is best to read the previous stories to withstand the context of the story. Atlas, comes into his own, softly but he quickly steps up. David is medically discharged and trying to embrace his civilian life. His friend, Mars insists on going hiking before he heads home to start his new life. David, hasn't had a heat in over 10 yrs and thinks of himself as fertile. He carried baggage about the dispositions of Alphas, so he was a bit alphaphobic. Atlas, carries the burden of his reputation as a playboy and a not very serious Alpha. He has a rescue mission for which he doubts his skills. Atlas and David, have a moment that leads to a surprise. Does Atlas complete his mission? How does David like Darlington? How does David take Atlas' secret? Does Ko, complete his mission? Excellent follow-on. The pack and den still surprise. Great story, well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I liked this mpreg romance. Just started this series with this book and eventhough I miss the two other mated couples romance, I wasn't lost in the storyline. I enjoyed David and Atlas. They were total opposites but their chemistry couldn't be denied. It was an interesting journey for them to get to know each other and live as mates and new parents. Not too too angsty...a little drama and action to keep this a page turner but with an overall sweet and steamy fun that gets you totally enthralled and don't want it to end. Nice ending tho and an epilogue that has me anxious to read the next story in the series...Real NICE!!.

Well, well, well, - Who knew i would like Mpreg shifter romance books!
Darlington series - Dylan Reece
These are the first and only Mpreg books i have read and while shifter books are not new to me Mpreg certainly is. I wasn't sure what i would think, i had low expections to be honest,
But DAMN am i glad i give this series a try.
The Mpreg aspect is really a secondary elements in these books and not the thing i want to focus on, while it was hot...suprisingly so, it wasnt what i loved most about these books, It was simply a subtle added bonus to the story.
The storyline that works its way through all of the books is simply GENIUS.
There is mystery that keeps you guessing and action that had me jumping off the couch. The plot twist combined with the fated mates aspects just hit so good!!!
So if you are wondering about shifter books or perhaps want to see what Mpreg is all about i HIGHLY recommend this series as a starter.
I previously read the 1st book in the series and the prequel. I've liked all the characters so far, and I liked David and Atlas. However all the books have the same issue in that it seems the writer wanted an external force that could cause an issue but didn't do a good job of developing that external force at all. The solutions to the "problems" are all "hand-waved" solutions and the big bads are more paper tigers. In this book, that force is the bears (strung along from the last book). It just all comes across as Atlas procrastinating ALOT and not being a very good pack Alpha at all. I'm still not sure why he stepped up at the end of the last book for a job he is woefully unqualified for. I had to force myself to finish this book because I was just so over the procrastination of the bear "problem." I want to read the next book, but I'm so over the paper tiger external problem.
Another great instalment from the Darlington Pack. This time, it's Atlas the newly (though not fully crowned Alpha) turn to be hit by fated mate. He is struggling with the change required to be the Alpha, as well as a shit load of emotional baggage that needs to be dealt with. He is also so different from the previous Alpha, his twin Red, who is still around, bumps into his fated mate, David, a human, who has not had a heat in years and suffers from severe migranes, oh and yeah just out of army. The meet, are attracted, have sex, and David gets pregnant immediately. The 🐻 threat is still there.
Now a lot goimg on in this book. It was so well worth the read. Enjoy
I really enjoy this series about wolf shifters from Darlington. Atlas is Red's twin and has to take over the pack as Alpha because Red has found his fated mate and due to the oath they had he has to take over now instead of two years later. Red considers Atlas irresponsible and not ready but has to uphold the oath. Atlas is going to a swampy area to see if he can find his bear shifter friend Jake but finds his fated mate David instead who is hiking with his friend Mars. Atlas arrives just in time to fake fight Jake who was trying to get the humans away from bear territory. This is highly enjoyable reading and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Atlas won my heart over. He was always trying to prove himself despite, Red knocking him down and making him doubt himself. There were moments I felt like giving Red a piece of my mind - he treated Atlas like he was useless instead of supporting him.
David and Atlas had a beautiful magnetic connection; it was fiery and explosive.
Really enjoyed this one, looking forward to the next one.

I enjoy Dylan Reece's Darlington Pack series with it's unique and thorough world building and the interesting and captivating setting. However I wasn't really into the romance between the main characters and couple, David and Atlas. Their angst seemed trivial. And their attraction seemed forced. I just didn't feel it.
I do like the conflict with the bear shifters. I think that saved the story for me.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is exciting!! DARLINGTON PACK #2 is a great Book. Atlas is the new Alpha Wolf with a bear problem. David is a Military man just recently discharged. Meeting Atlas was a shock. Becoming pulled into a world he couldn't have imagined is unbelievable. This is a great addition to this Series. DYLAN REECE spins exciting Books of Romance and Lore. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS DARLINGTON PACK SERIES!!!!!
Atlas as the newly appointed Alpha of the pack is trying to find his footing. He comes across 2 human omegas and realizes one of them is his fated mate. He needs to prove to his pack that he will be a good alpha and keep them safe from a war wi Ty the bears. He needs to prove to David that he is worthy and convince him to stay in Darlington.
I am in love with this series it is very good you have to try it.
I really love they book so much I can not wait for rohan book it was really interesting and I Will also like to no what happen to their father's. And also see what happen between mars and tons that separates them from one and a other.
Overall this was enjoyable to read but it had a lot of plot holes. Things that flip flopped in the consistency that didn’t really matter to the plot overall but was annoying to be like…wait wasn’t that said to be this way like 3 chapters ago? Like you could move passed it but took you out of the story. Not really sure if I’ll be reading the next story.
I loved Atlas in the first book and loved him more in this one. He finds his fated mate in the woods and helps his friend to a doctor. They have a special night and David ends up pregnant. Instead of fleeing when he finds out Atlas is a shifter, he embraces it. They fall in love and have a baby.
Other things happen to like an almost war with the Bears and David's mom telling them about their parents. I hope we get to find out more about what happened to them.
The book was ok. I almost didn't finish reading it. i just was not able to connect with the MCs. There was too much going on at times and situations and other characters were mentioned but not necessarily resolved satisfactorily. This may have been result of me not reading Book 1 of the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed Atlas and David’s story! I knew there was so much more to Atlas than we saw in the first book and I’m glad he and Red are starting to heal their relationship. I like David a lot and I’m so intrigued by his mother and what else she might possibly know!
This writing style was just not for me, it seemed very simplistic. On top of that, it was a story that I've read many times before. I'm sure others will love this, but to me it just wasn't up to snuff.
