Not bias but If I could give this book 10 stars I would 🥺 it's probably my most fave release since I came back to the fandom last 2020. Everything about it was so well written! The emotions, how the scenes were played out, the transitions, the words used ugh Jonaxx did it again 😫 + the parellism to his parents story was still so interesting since you get to see how it was built on that pedestal but was still so different in the end, chef's kiss!
I love roscoe so much!! He's so much better than his dad. Yes to a man who knows how to appreciate his woman and isn’t afraid to stand up for her! Top 5 JBOY NA KAHIT BUMPY SA UMPISA!! HAHA [possible spoiler] tbh I know ok I agree na he was so rude to her in the beginning but can u blame him? His mom almost got kidnapped, try to put ur shoes in his place. And this is fiction haha take a chill pill!
can’t wait for beau! 🤍 ily ryle and roscoe u guys r the best
Dec 13 2022: bruh I'm rereading this story for the millionth time, I'm never getting tired 😫
So did everyone just collectively forgot that the ml disgustingly disrespected fl multiple times in the first few chapters? And how persistent he was, pathetically clinging to the fml seeking her attention, forcing himself on her even if it's so obvious she doesn't want him? Or giving her mixed signals? He's no different from the rest lol and all she got was a half-assed vague apology
Thought it would be an EBNAB ripoff, but boy did Jonaxx prove me wrong.
Giving this book five stars because although it was a recycled version of EBNAB, Queen J gave justice to this story. There were a lot of similarities between Rage and Roscoe (two hotheaded rich and spoiled boys), as well as Sunny and Ryla (two gorgeous yet simple orphans), and while I raised my brows at first, I think there were also differences that made this book stand out.
First, Roscoe and Ryla already became a couple as soon as you reached one-third of the story; Rage and Sunny were more complicated. It took more than half of their book before they defined their relationship.
Two, while revenge and family were the central theme of both EBNAB and TBIP, I believed this one was packed with action. Rage plotted revenge against Sunny because she was the daughter of his dad's mistress, while Roscoe thought Ryla was a part of the syndicate who almost kidnapped his mom. While their motives were clearly for their family, TBIP had more complications which were answered towards the end, while I was still bothered with whatever happened after Rage and Sunny tied their knots in Palawan. It was only answered because of this book.
One thing I DISLIKE about this book is how they dwell so much on Ryla’s innocence. Every single character on this book has to say something about her virginity, but I guess that’s because of the environment she’s in? Everyone around her sexualizes her cuz everyone around her is a whore (in a literal sense) or is in that industry and it doesn’t help that Roscoe is a horn dog lololol
I SWEAR THIS BOOK IS LIKE THE BEST JONAXX BOOK FOR ME 😭 i swear, all the tropes that i love is in this book that’s why i loved it 🫶🏻 rich man & poor girl just does it for me idk why jsgdajdhajsh i read Rage’s story (Roscoe’s father) too and i literally loved that because of the trope too lol 😭
i LOVED Roscoe’s grovelling lol 😭 the fact that he was a playboy at first then met Ryla and fell in love and was head over heels for her is just *french kiss* 💋🤌🏼 and there were lots of Roscoe jealous moments which was so fucking funny 😭 also i found the part where they had *** for the first time and Ryla left early in the morning without Roscoe knowing then he went to her agency and was furious and ordered his men to find her all over the city and when they met Ryla said he shouldn’t be mad because he got what he wanted and said that it was just a “one night stand” for her 😭
literally the playboy got played back by his girl lol 🫵🏼🫵🏼 anyway I love Ryla so much she’s so pure and kind and aweet and literally so wholesome. 🫶🏻 the fact that she was treated badly by her aunt & uncle and her cousin but she still grew up so kind 🥺💗 i love herrrrr she’s literally like Sunny in another body lol love them sm
and Roscoe, of course, your typical billionaire, ceo, son of the previous ceo (rage), playboy, arrogant, always mad at everyone but never at her type of man. 😭💗 that’s why the title is the beast in paradise lol, roscoe being the beast and ryla being the paradise. 🫶🏻 UGH LOVE
ANYWAY, that’s all !!! 5 stars all the way, my fave jonaxx story so far!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Honestly, I love the story but somehow the story seemed too predictable for me. Roscoe's story has a same pattern as his father, Rage. Albeit of the situations the plot was still the same.
The story is good but the plot itself has a lot of lacking. I am honestly a fan of Jonaxx. I love her stories but this is one of the stories of hers that I least like.
It was kind inconsistency of the character of Roscoe. We already know the history of his family but somehow I questioned myself, “If he has a complete family and his father wasn't have an affair, why was he not into commitments? Before he met Ryla he was a playboy. It was something off for me.
But the story made me feel pity of the female lead. As her life seemed Cinderella style, her foster family. Her supposed family, the only family she has treating her badly. She seemed too weak at first but I love how strong she was as the story progress.
Anyway, 3.50 is my rating for this story. Sorry not sorry. This is how I see the story.

not gonna lie this got me on the first half but the latter half felt dragging. i love how jonaxx successfully redeemed ryla’s character on the last 5 chapters but i felt it was too late for some reason like ryla could’ve had a character development earlier.
honestly i could’ve liked this better if it wasn’t for ryla’s character. I LOVE HER I MEAN WHO WOULDN’T WANT A CHARACTER WHO’s DRIVEN BY GOALS AND DETERMINATION TO SURVIVE. pero paulit ulit na lang kasi yung character niya na magtitiwala, maloloko, marerealize tas magtitiwala ulit na para bang wala siyang natutunan. damn i like her so much kaya it hurts to see her be a damsel in distress at the end. hindi naman sa naghahanap ako ng grand gesture to redeem herself but i really expected her to atleast be mindful of her decision, not be impulsive, or isipin yung dinadala niya.
nakakainis na parang mas may character development pa si roscoe. ryan laylaaa

I was gonna rate this book 3 stars, but since it had the "bad boy, innocent girl/has soft spot for the girl" and "she deserves better, so i became better" tropes, it deserves another star. I have a love-hate relationship with the FL & ML, almost lost my fucking patience istg! Plot was kind of cliché, not so different from Jonaxx’s other works. But i'm so happy for both Ry & Roscoe cuz they're accepted by the family 🥹 Mommy Sunny best woman indeed !!!

Way better than EBNAB - I was really surprised (knowing how similar the story would probably be).
I think Roscoe is inching his way to my top 5 favorite Jonaxx MLs (I have yet to read Beau’s, GITY is one of my favorite so I am expecting a lot). For Ryla, while I can sympathize with her pero mas maraming times na napapaface palm na lang ako STILL, despite that, lakas kasi ng chemistry nila ni Roscoe (parang bigla tuloy akong nagka dejavu ng WOM).
i honestly did not like roscoe at first, aside from the disrespect—which was i think understandable as he thought ryla was the mole—i felt like he was lacking something? i also hated how he didn’t use a condom for their first time especially knowing how ryla still has dreams to pursue🥲 would’ve rated it lower i think but i love ryla so much, i have a soft spot for her so i’ll just round it up to 3 stars 😓🩷

"I hope this time, when something like this happens, tell me. Gusto kong malaman. Paano kita mapo-protektahan kung hindi ko alam? Paano ka sasandal sa akin, kung sasarilinin mo ang problema mo?”
“I have accepted that I’m in love with a diamond in the rough, a treasure in the ruins... and an angel... in hell.”
I really loved how there are some parallel scenes between what happened to Roscoe’s parents and them. Also, the character development of Roscoe is just *chef kiss*. I kinda not like him though for tainting my precious Ryla so early 😭
Roscoe pinag halong Rage sa pag ka broody, Brandon na nag long hair kasi broken hahah at maybe Logan hahaha.. Gen Z generation ng kwento ng tatay at nanay niya.
Jonaxx writing style is truly compelling, the best ❤️🥰
noong una ang thought ko habang pinu-pursue ni roscoe si rayla ay, "baka nga gaganti tapos pinapaibig muna" kasi yung mga unang scene nila sobrang nanakit puso ko :( naawa rin ako kay rayla dahil sa trato ng pamilya niya but glad na she found her own with the del fierros!
Enjoyed reading this book! Liked the MC development a lot, but somehow I felt that the book screams more of their scenes. Hopefully, a special chapter or in a physical copy. :)
