The book takes you to the land of Mahirasthan, a democratic Islamic state. The people of Mahirasthan, known as 'Mahirans' were good with the art of deception or what we commonly call 'magic'.
During the separation of Maharashtran, there was a clash between two brothers, Azim and Azlan, sons of great Azim Azlan. Since they got no inheritance from their father they divided his name among themselves. The brothers were great in the art of deception, the best in mahirans both fighting for the same cause but with different ideologies.
But there can be only one leader and hence they came to the strange conclusion that they would lock themselves in a room until one of them compelled The other to shoot himself.
The Illusionists is a thrilling story of two brothers caught up in politics, who wants to fight for the independence of their state and lead their people, but they want to compete with each other to show the other one who's the best illusionist.
It shows what power can do to people, it explores family drama and betrayal.

Thrillers bind our attention like no other. They transit us to a different world altogether from where I personally do not want to return. This is another such novel that has the potential to help you stay immersed in it .
The story revolves around two brothers Azim and Azlan who are pitied against each other in a political deadlock. Their back story is also shown that how after the demise of their father they took the onus on themselves to take their family out of the rut. Their sister Ruksana also plays a pivotal role in the novel.
The book works more on the reader's psyche and the way it is narrated ,it certainly creates a different sort of impact. The characterisation is done well and the cover is apt too. The title is meaningful and one can only understand its relevance after completing the novel
All in all a fascinating work of fiction

A very interesting title for an interesting book. Best idea to give an introduction about this book is to make use of a transcript from the book itself.
"An Illusionist is a person who plays with your attention. Takes it where it isn't supposed to be. Essentially, that is the whole act. Not the ball that just turned into a pigeon. Not the body which was sliced in half. And surely not the unclad woman performing silly acrobatics. These are mere theatrics meant to take your attention where it is not supposed to be."
This story is about family, power, greed, politics and human psychology. The story starts with the introduction of a small family consisting of two young boys, their sister Rusksana and their parents. After the death of the father the boys Azim and Azlan got too many responsibilities to look after.
The theme of the book can be understood by the cover page and the tag like: " Two politicians. One must shoot himself." The two brothers find themselves pitted against eachother in a looming election. The whole plot is interesting and the book is a page turner, both the brothers are equally strong that we feel like we are watching a tug off war.
The significance of the title will be clear once we read the book. Rusksana also plays an important part in the story. There are also other characters who pick the beat of the story line.
I really enjoyed the story and I definitely recommend this one to everyone.

'The Illusionists' is a book by Aashish Gupta which I finished few days back and I am still hungover to this book.
What is a illusion?
Its the thing which we feel is real but in reality,its fake.

The one who creates the illusion.
This was an amazing book which was an engaging story altogether.The plot of the book is simply amazing!I haven't read anything similar like this earlier.
The cover of the book is equally intriguing.When I first saw it,I felt kind of 'pick me up' vibe.Also,black covers are my love!
The author has done a very beautiful job in writing this book.The plot is amazing.The narration done by the author is so surreal that it feels like someone is actually narrating the story.Its like playing infront of me.
The story has thrill,twists and turns.I was in my shoes completely.And the way in which it is written is perfect for anyone.
The use of various fonts is something which I felt is impressive!The font styles and sizes are maintained differently which made this book a quite an easy and gripping read!
The language used is not that difficult.Even a beginner can read it easily.
Overall,I would say this book is full package of everything!

This book is a fast paced psychological thriller. Though I have read a number of thrillers, this plot is completely different, more of a mind game kind of stuff. I personally haven't read any such plots earlier. So reading this book was a completely different experience for me.
The whole story is all about two brothers namely Azim and Azlan. After losing their father, they reach a point where they are forced to go against each other inorder to achieve their goals. Azim and Azlan were equally talented, wise and strong. The tag line describes this plot better as follows-
"Two politicians. One must shoot himself."
We cannot choose between Azim and Azlan in the whole story as both have all the qualities to survive. Azim and Azlan have a sister named Ruksana who also plays an important role here.
The language is easily understandable. The plot is very powerful. Some wordings written by the author in the book are very impactful. The characters in the story were well developed and justified their roles. Most recommended read !

Bo The book is about two brothers, Azlan and Azim, with different ideologies. They are fighting against each other in the election. The only way to find the perfect winner is by shooting one of them. The role of their sister, Ruskana, is quite vital to the story.
Thus, the whole story revolves around the mind games played by the brothers.
To be honest, I could not relate to the book, especially because of its narrative style. Before the start of each chapter, the author tells us about the style of narration used in it, which has been a big no for me.
Also, I didn’t enjoy the writing style to express the story much either. The characterization is okay.
No doubt, the concept is good but achieved poorly.
The story is good, and it would have been crisp and better if told to us in a novella.
The cover of the book looks quite intriguing.
The title is apt to the story.
Overall, read it if it excites you.

The story is about two brothers, Azim and Azlan. Their fame demanded them to be i multiple places at once, so they never lived, only performed behind unchanging facade. They were forever actors on the stage. 0After their father died they stood against each other in election. The book with 19 chapters and 251 pages will leave you in amazement. The story starts from describing, 'Illusionists' well that was necessary.
The story was good, needed a bit of editing though. The story plot was good, bold and captivating. This story is an example how greed of power and position changes the person.

My first response after finishing illusionists was-
“HARD TO FOLLOW SOMETIMES WHAT IS REAL AND WHAT IS DREAM IN THE FLASHBACK”
What an amazing story. The fact you don’t know if it is illusions or the reality that had me hooked . Dreams can be messy in this book as well as in real lives. In real lives, we Like to Dream, But When we wake up we almost forget about what we dreamt of last night. But that’s what is right. Because that’s important, according to the author, in this book.

Sometimes, the dreams become reality. When we realize we are not Immortal, we see the meaning of life as an illusion. Life’s value is set through our mindset and how much we want to live this life that’s given to us. This book has described a lot of themes like siblings relationship and there are many twists, and childhood memories, greed, love etc.

It is a very good read and its language is very simplified. It was engaging and kept me hooked till the end. It is not a typical story, it is very different from my comfort genre and I liked the fact that I have minimal negatives for this book. The two protagonists are very similar when it comes to emotions and power they hold over other people. They are nominated against each other in election and the only way to determine winner is to show who can shoot the himself.

The plot is interesting and atypical, making it a must read for every psychological thriller lover. It is somewhat different from all the other thrillers. It has an organized sense to it. It can be a good book for both beginners and avid readers. I definitely recommend this book to my fellow readers and to the author: I am waiting eagerly for your next book.

Illusionists you must hear this name . An illusionist is a person who produces illusory effects . If you wanna read and understand more about illusionists, I recommend you read this book as its first chapter contains brief information about illusionists which is explained by the author very well.
Further plot gradually moves in the right direction to explain the protagonists and about their culture islamic background . I liked the way the author perfectly wrote the whole theme in such a way that it does not disturb the flow of conversation of the protagonist and keeps the readers guess till the end .
The cover and title is eye catching that definitely catch readers attention to read and find out the end of this story as it's written in front cover that " Two politicians. One must shoot himself " from this statement you must think about what happened ? How can one shoot himself ? To find out these answers I'll recommend you to read this book .
I appreciate the author for his incredible imagination and build up of characters in such a different way
" Illusionist " is definitely a unique theme.
The narration is good but i didn't like that because I thought It could be better but i appreciate the writing style of the author which is too good .

The start of this book has set off me to get further into the story. What an ideal portrayal and composing style! This book takes care of the relative multitude of components like the affection feel, the blameworthy inclination, the insatiability, human brain science and the way the "power" changes a man.
This story is about family, power, eagerness, legislative issues, and human brain research. The story begins with the presentation of a little family comprising of two young men, their sister Rusksana and their folks. After the demise of the dad the young men Azim and Azlan got an excessive number of liabilities to take care of.

The two siblings end up set in opposition to one another in an approaching political race. The entire plot is intriguing, and the book is an exciting read, both the siblings are similarly solid that we feel like we are watching a pull off war.
However, I have perused few suspense thrillers, this one is something else. The way the creator has related the occurrences that occurred in the past alongside the current situations were extremely awesome! I feel like I am watching a film loaded with thrill and suspense!
I truly partook in the story, and I most certainly prescribe this one to everybody...!!

I picked up this book due to cover and tagline because the suspense thriller is one of my favourite genre. The tagline of the book is “Two politicians. One must shoot him self.” Is quite fascinating. Author has explained about the title initially. An illusionist is a person who plays with your attention. Azim and Azlam are brothers. As it’s the suspense thriller, I will only summarise highlighted points here to avoid spoilers. Author has also explained about Mahirans. Azlan believed that the followers of either party had become extremist. Aizm too believed that the only resolution would come from the death of one for he too had witnessed extreme behaviour amongst his followers. Two brothers find themselves pitted against each other in a looming election. And there is only one solution. One must compel the other to shoot him self. I liked few striking features about the book the most. First is title is too apt. The next is when author mentioned about the narration style of the story, in two ways or voice to differentiate in different voices, that was quite witty. The other thing is when author wrote the story timing wise because it’s a risky thing to do as author has to be thorough with the plot or it can go wrong but author really pulled it off. I liked how the perfect plot is as the author included politics, suspense, power, psychology, etc. The language of the book is lucid so that everyone can pick it up. The narration style of the author is smooth and captivating. Overall quite an interesting read.

The beginning of this book has triggered me to get more deep into the story. What a perfect narration and writing style ! This book has covered all the elements like the love feel, the guilty feeling, the greediness, human psychology and the way the "power" changes a man.The two main characters of the story are Azim and Azlan. They both have a sister named Ruksana. Both Azim and Azlan are equally talented. They both had similar positive traits like oratory skills. They were very much able to mesmerize people through the way they speak.
Azim and Azlan are against each other in an election. The only way to determine the winner is if any one of them should shoot themselves. Now, it becomes more interesting as both of them are equally strong and skilled. Their sister Ruskana also plays a vital role. Aiza's (Azlan's wife) entry makes it more interesting. Thus, the whole story revolves around the mind game played by these people.
Though I have read a few suspense thrillers, this one is something different. The way the author has related the incidents that happened in the past along with the present scenarios were very perfect! I felt like watching a movie packed with thrill and suspense!

'The Illusionists' is a novel that plays with the readers mind.
I would have passed this novel assuming it to be crime mystery due to the cover but the title and the subtitle that said Two Politicians One must shoot himself assured me that this book is not what I thought and definitely going to be a thrilling read.
Constantly, a thought was crossing regarding if there are two politicians why one must shoot himself.
One can shoot another, one can just step back or one can support another being a sibling but why is it necessary to shoot themselves on their own? I wanted answer to my thoughts and I couldn't ignore this book.
As I started reading, the plot turned out to be much better than what I expected.
The characters of Azim and Azlan were perfectly sketched and the character of Ruksana just impressed me.
There was nothing to dislike in this book instead whenever a new character was introduced, I was impressed by it before I could read about them.
Such was the strong impression the Author has built up in the story.
The way the story proceeds proves to be nail biting.
Each and every character is given a vital role to play just like movies.
The book is not just gripping but unpredictable too.
I took my own time to understand and digest the storyline and I must say this was one of the finest read of this month.
After reading this book, I agree with the statement - 'Never judge a book by it's cover'.
Totally impressed with the plot and Writing style.

There is a dance in our mind where the good and bad fight whenever they have to decide on something. What if there are two extremes as a human being and only one can live? Will the good one win or the bad one win?
The illusionist as per the name came up with illuded story where neither good nor bad win! How cool is that!
It was a brainstorm for my brain from the start. The more i read, more answers opened and made sense one by one. It was overwhelming and confusing to read the initial pages because there was no knot of the story. After the end, I went to read the first page again and it made sense like I found the elixir of the book ❤️ Amazing isn't it?
Azim and Azlan were two extreme illusionists of Mahiran community. When one can drive the people for betterment another one can drive the people to wilderness. They both had conflicts and it was affecting their people so they decided to solve it by the mahiran way. At the end only one person will leave and the other one will be dead!
I liked when their sister paved the path to both without their knowledge and put a sack of poison in their throats without their knowledge. When one was killed out of rage the other one died sooner coz he ate the poison by killing the other one.

The illusionist as per the name came up with illuded story where neither good nor bad win! How cool is that!
It was a brainstorm for my brain from the start. The more i read, more answers opened and made sense one by one. It was overwhelming and confusing to read the initial pages because there was no knot of the story. After the end, I went to read the first page again and it made sense like I found the elixir of the book ❤️ Amazing isn't it?
Azim and Azlan were two extreme illusionists of Mahiran community. When one can drive the people for betterment another one can drive the people to wilderness. They both had conflicts and it was affecting their people so they decided to solve it by the mahiran way. At the end only one person will leave and the other one will be dead!
I liked when their sister paved the path to both without their knowledge and put a sack of poison in their throats without their knowledge. When one was killed out of rage the other one died sooner coz he ate the poison by killing the other one.

The Illusionists - The title of the book will itself make you want to pick it up! Moreover the cover with a gun hanging by strings arouses more excitement in you as a reader. So kudos on that.
Secondly the plot is amazing. It is well curated and very well thought of. The built up around Mahirasthan and Mahiran people was brilliant which paved the way for the story further ahead gving it a somewhat mystical vibe.
The character of the two brothers Azim and Azlan however was a bit confusing for the first few chapters, it was exhausting to keep going back and forth to understand who was who, since they were almost similar. However I liked the character of Ruksana, who's been portrayed like a puppet master in some way for her younger brothers, even after she died.
The actual story is super interesting and will keep you hooked till the end. The curiosity of finding out what really happens to the two brothers, who wins the battle of elections and more will keep you glued to the book. I finished it in one sitting as it was too much suspense to keep for another.
In most of the books, we are able to put a finger on the probable winner from quite early into the story but here the author has perfectly kept the balance between the two brothers and you can't really predict who it's going to be. At one time you might feel it's Azim and at other times, Azlan. I liked the suspense that carried along with it.
Overall it's a thrilling read. Those into suspense thrillers and somewhat psychological thrillers should definitely go for it.

The story revolves around two brothers named Azim and Azlan, who were battling against each other. One will survive and one will die. This is the twisting part of the story. Then there is another important character, being introduced who plays a major role and that was Ruksana, there younger sister. this plot is completely different, more of a mind game kind of stuff. After losing their father, they reach a point where they are forced to go against each other inorder to achieve their goals. Azim and Azlan were equally talented, wise and strong. For someone who loves suspense thriller, it is a good read.title, plotline, story, narration, characters, twists and turns, language, use of metaphors, pace,climax, writing style everything were perfect. The way the creator has related the occurrences that occurred in the past alongside the current situations were extremely awesome!

They say that power has the inevitable capability to change people, and sometimes it does bring out the good in an individual, making them use it for a better and genuine agenda.
However, more often than not, the definite shift and the circumstances that they are handed changes the mindset of a person and makes them contrivance and act in a certain way, which they would not be avert to doing otherwise in normal instances, right to the point of doing things that are almost despicable.

The illusionists is a suspense thriller book of author Aashish Gupta. This book has an interesting tagline as "one must shoot himself". i liked the fact that the author has made some good statements about what an illusionist is and how they play with our minds.
The thriller has a hint of polity to it. How politics affect us and how it should be regulated can be well reflected in this book. It kept me hooked since the beginning due to its lucid yet simple language and the plot.
The plotline is really interesting and full of twists and turns. It can be read as a slow burn too because the plot is a little bit slow paced.
The author has been very unbiased in how he has potrayed his two protagonists in this book. The protagonists are two brothers named Azim and Azlam. There are other supporting characters who make quite strong presence throughout the story.
The election is around the corner and the brothers are up against each other. The only way to choose the winner is a stand-off between the opponents.
The storyline is very unique and strong. It is not for the faint hearted and one must be very interested in human psyche to understand some parts that the protagonists are playing in this drama.
Lastly, i would say this book has given me a quality time and it will certainly entertain my fellow readers. The language is simplified. It can be suitable for bothe beginners and experienced readers.

The first thing about the book which impressed me was its name and tagline. The tag line says - "Two politicians. One must shoot himself." This simply compelled me to read the whole story. I never felt any lagging in between the whole read. This was a very fabulous read for me.
The story begins with the explanation of an Illusionist. An Illusionist is someone who has the capability to play with people's attention and concentration. Azim and Azlan were brothers. They were raging in a political war against each other. Both of them have equal potential to sustain each other. There comes a point where one of them should kill themselves. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
This is a suspense thriller with so many additional attributes which makes the readers complete the whole story just in a single sitting. The author's way of narration simply kept me engaged until the end. I wanted neither Azim nor Azlan to take that bad decision just because of the way those two characters have been portrayed.
I personally loved reading this book and enjoyed it to the core. The language used is very simple and easy to understand. This story would also be beginner's friendly without much complexity! I would strongly recommend this book for all the thriller/suspense lovers and to anyone who loves to explore this genre!

The storyline features innumerable feelings such as love, guilt trip, human psychology etc. in a magnificent manner.
The book contains two protagonists, i.e. Azim and Azlan. Ruksana is another character in the storyline who is sister to Azim and Azlan.
The two brothers are talented guys with the capability to allure anyone via their conversation.
The storyline is twisted when Azim and Azlan stand against each other in an election. The winner of the election is to be decided after a strange condition. What is the condition? Know it all yourselves by just diving deep into the storyline.
Who among the two do you think will be the winner provided both are strong and skilled. What's the part played on behalf of their sister Ruskana? All these questions have hidden answers within the book.

“The Illusionists” by Aashish Gupta is a power packed drama thriller that takes readers on a roller coaster ride of emotions that emerge from the trying circumstances and situations forced by power, greed and politics.
Divided into nineteen chapters, the book is set in a place called Mahirasthan, a democratic Islamic state whose inhabitants inherit a century old art of deception called ‘Mahira’. Capturing the story of two such Mahirans or The Illusionists, the book portrays a vivid story of Azim and Azlan who despite being brothers raise up banner against each other in the looming elections of the Mahirasthan because of differing ideologies. Where will they eventually end up? Who will emerge victorious? To know more grab a copy of “The Illusionists “ and witness this dramatic chase for power and authority.
Overall, written in a simple and lucid language with strong characters and engrossing plot, “The Illusionists” is an absolutely riveting fast paced read that keeps readers hooked till the end, the story has its sharp moments which recharge readers from time to time making it a perfect treat for bibliophiles.

First and foremost, this is black magic, I absolutely am head over heels for the amazing minimalistic design and the brilliant quality of print I received.
This book literally got all my favourite elements packed in one, amazing cover design, a length within 200 pages, and genre is my all time favourite -- political thriller!!!
This book talks of two brothers who are pitted against each other around a political backdrop post the demise of their father.
They have a lot on their plate to juggle whilst realising the only way out of this mess of extremes these parties have become is death of one of them in the opposition.
This book screams power drive, human psyche/instinct, and will make you think while your hold your breath.
Although since it's a thriller the pace is a tad bit slow to my liking, which is again a personal opinion and is subject to change depending on the number of thrillers you read.
In addition to that, I feel if the philosophical content would have either been brought down a notch or could have blended more well with the plot.
Apart from that, this one reminds me of Hostar original series "City of Dreams" in a few places.
Both the book and the series are a worth a watch.

The story starts with the separation of Mahirasthans which led into the division of a entire state into two parts between two young leaders named Azlan and Azim.
They were very young to learn anything meaningful as their parents were no more alive. There was no inheritance so, they divided their father name and they named their sister after their mother.
There was a great competition between them along with this they both have a large number of followers to challenge each other. They both have different ideologies.
The main ask was that one had to survive, so there will be a clear winner. They have a only one solution to all these problems, that they will be in a locked room and compel each other to suicide.
The book has the elements like Phycology, Greed, Power and Politics. Are they fit for all these responsibilities? Are they qualified so?What will it do take to win an election? What will the future of politics at that place?
Author has weven many twists and turns in this story.The book has been thoughtfully titled and the cover here looks quite attractive too. It consists of very rich and lucid language has been employed throughout its writing. The author has very vividly concluded everything.

"The Illusionists" by Aashish Gupta is a book based on suspense thriller genre. This read covers the elements of thrill, excitement, mystery, suspicious thoughts and a lot of dramatic ups and downs. It is perfectly blended with all these elements and turns out to be a perfect read.

The story revolves around two brothers named Azim and Azlam, who were battling against each other. One will survive and one will die. This is the twisting part of the story. Then there is another important character, being introduced who plays a major role and that was Ruksana, there younger sister. Grab your copies now, and go through till thrilling read.

Now, coming on the book cover, it's vibrant as well as catchy. The title was unique and well-suited. The author has very well explained the reason behind this title. The writing style was rich as well as reader-friendly, it kept me engaged from the first page till the end. The narration was apt. The plot was great. The pace was good. All the characters were perfectly built-up and strong.

Overall, an amazing read and will definitely recommend.
