Two best friends have one week to return a lost love letter found in a candy store—and to work up the courage to confess to the deep feelings between them—in this romance novella from the acclaimed author of How To Fail at Flirting.
Teagan’s job in an airport candy store pays the bills but she dreams of traveling the world. With one week until she boards a plane for an international adventure, she finds an abandoned love letter in the store and talks her BFF into helping her figure out who it belongs to.
Silas solves problems for a living as an airline customer service representative. One problem he can’t solve is how to reveal a big secret to his best friend that would risk changing their entire relationship. When she proposes they work together to get the love letter back to its owner, he jumps at the chance.
Teagan and Silas stumble on romantic clues, old stories, and more than a few dead ends along the way while trying to play Cupid, all of which bring them closer together. With only a few days before Teagan’s transatlantic move, the two of them must decide if the sweet temptation of falling for their best friend is worth the potential heartbreak or if either can stand to keep their feelings wrapped up.
These novellas have been so magical and so much fun to read.
Best friends confessing their feelings for each other after pining for years, shenanigans at the airport (of course) and just cuteness and feel goods all round.
Of the three short novels, this was my least favorite. I didn't feel much chemistry between the protagonists. Still, it was a quick and entertaining read.
The Sweetest Connection is the last of the three Airport Novellas by Denise Williams. This story is about Teagan who works in an airport candy store but is wishing for more from life. She’s about to move across the world.
Silas works in airline customer service. Teagan is his best friend. The two find a love letter they want to return to its owner. As they work together to find the owner, the connection between them begins to grow.
I think this was my favorite of the three novellas, though I really did enjoy them all.
It’s easy to say I’ll definitely be reading all of Denise Williams’s other books when I’m looking for a refreshing and uplifting love story.
ALL THE STARS! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!! This was the best one out of all of the airport Novellas!
I was totally immersed in the story from beginning to end and the narrator‘s were perfect and I loved how everything wrapped up. Friends to lovers will always be superior, it always makes my heart so happy! Teagan and Silas are the cutest and the humor and connection that they shared was so special and wonderful. I literally laughed out loud multiple times and a smile never left my face!! I really enjoyed this series!!❤️
Look, this series has been a little hit and miss for me, but this one - thankfully - was a hit. I'm always a sucker for a friends-to-lovers story, and this one comes with a quest element AND a side of mutual pining. Basically, I loved it but I also wanted it to be a full length novel and not just a novella.
Soooo cute!!! A perfect last shortie audio for the year 🥹🫶
✨friends to lovers ✨airport antics ✨one spicy scene 🌶️ ✨funny!! ✨dual timelines + POV
Teddy Hamilton is just a top tier narrator + I will read anything and everything Williams writes! Her novellas are perfectly short while still telling a whole story! 💞
I listened to this as an audiobook and the main girl is called Teagan and the male is voiced by the same guy who voices Lukov so..having Lukov say my name is wonderful <3
This is the only book of this series where there wasn’t really a third act conflict which means this book didn’t have the problem of the other two, which was the fact that the characters resolved said conflicts a tittle too quickly for my taste.
They were extremely very sweet as a couple, but unfortunately friends to lovers is not really my thing, which made this less interesting that I would have wanted.
This novella set has been fun. I had the highest hopes for this last book because I love friends-to-lovers and slow burn love stories, but The Sweetest Connection just fell a little short for me.
First, I didn't love the lost love letter premise. The scenario just took so much time away from developing the Teagan/Silas past friendship and longing filled love story. There were so many unnecessary story lines that were added and for me, they took away from the primary love story. I think just the countdown to Teagan leaving the country would have been enough.
I did like Teagan and Silas and was a fan of them together. The pacing was just off for me throughout the book. They had a sweet friendship and I could tell the longing was there. It just took so long for the past pivotal moment in their relationship to be revealed, and then after that the pacing just went to super speed with hardly any communication about it.
I'm sad to say this was my least favorite of this set because I was really excited about it. I also didn't love that we didn't get a solid epilogue for Teagan and Silas and instead got a random one with two characters that we don't really even know or care about. I still would recommend this series if you are a Denise Williams fan. As a whole, it was a fun little series even if it didn't end on the highest note for me.
3 stars — Huh. This one was just missing that extra spark. The friendship between Silas and Teagan was cute and fun, but I didn’t feel a whole lot of extra chemistry pulling them together (and thus me in to their story).
I wasn’t a huge fan of the secret Silas was keeping from Teagan, and only sort of understood it once we got through all the flashbacks. It just didn’t make Silas exactly book boyfriend numero uno, you know? And Teagan was pretty oblivious in her own right.
I definitely enjoyed their friendship, but I was surprised at how meh I was when things finally got steamier.
As for the mystery? It wasn’t bad, had some cute moments.
Thank you to PRH Audio for the complimentary audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a friends to lovers romance between Teagen and Silas in the Airport Novella series. This is the third story. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't my favorite. (That would be book one, "The Love Connection.")
The audiobook is narrated by Angel Pean (new to me) and Teddy Hamilton, who could read me the telephone book (if we still had them) and I would listen. He is one of my favorites! I especially liked the chapters where there was duet narration for the video calls/texts/messages.

As sweet as its name suggests, this is, perhaps, the lightest and coziest of the three linked novellas. Two best friends suss out the author of what's basically a secret admirer letter while gradually admitting to themselves that they want to be far more than friends with each other. The conflicts are minimal and we know early on that realizations are on the brink of dawning, allowing page space for a broader look at the entire community within the airport, and the many connections that appear to be forming. It's a joyous celebration of romantic love, with nods to both of the other books, and a charming end to the series.
This is the third novella in the Airport Novellas series.
This one isn't super connected to the other two. Yes it's set at the same airport. But the previous characters play very minor roles in this story (most aren't in the novella at all).
Teagan works at the airport candy store. Silas works at the airport in customer service.
These two have been best friends for a while. I really enjoyed how the author included chapters from their past. But they are all phone calls or texts. This worked so well!
My other favorite part of the novella is the love letter mystery. This is such a great part of the story.
This novella is super cute. Although this is not my favorite trope. But overall I really enjoyed this so much!
This was a fun little story that I didn't even know I had requested.
I'm always a sucker for both BFFs pining away for the other one, the furtive looks, the longing, all of it. Throw in a time crunch and you've got me. These two had all of that and a sweet chemistry that really worked at is morphed into more. And the last couple of chapters were perfect.
**Huge thanks to the publisher for providing the arc free of charge**
this lacked everything i love about romance. no chemistry, no tension, no longing. the smut was cold and the plot wasn’t believable. these characters were supposed to be friends for years but they didn’t display one iota of genuine friendship never mind love
i so want to love do you take this man so i’m going to pretend this doesn’t exist
