The Final Play

Rate this book
The Final Play isn’t always the end. Sometimes, it’s the beginning of something far more beautiful.

As a professional linebacker, I lived and breathed football.

The only thing I loved as much as the game was my twin brother, Max, who kept me almost as busy cleaning up his messes.

The most recent of which landed him behind bars.

So, it shouldn’t have surprised me when a beautiful woman showed up on my doorstep, claiming to be pregnant with Max’s baby.

Glory was unexpected, infuriating, and flat-out crazy most of the time.

But no matter how hard I tried to deny it, that tiny spitfire slammed into my boring life with the strength of a Category 5 hurricane, blowing through my defenses until she’d carved her name in my heart—permanently.

I feared we would never work. She was a single mom, my brother’s ex, and one more chance for me to fail yet another person I loved.

But if football was my church, then Glory was my heaven.

This is a such a sweet read. It’s a part of the Summerville Sports Romance series, but can easily stand alone, and is a pregnant/single parent sports romance that is emotional yet fun, and gorgeously romantic, and I loved it.

Mason Stark is the best friend of Lukas from #1 in the series, The Red Zone. He’s 37 years old, a professional football player, and he lives and breathes his beloved game. The book begins with an emotionally brutal prologue that introduces us to a young Mason and his twin brother Max, and shows us the defining moment of their childhood that sets the stage for the story to come. Because as much as Mason has his life together, Max does not, and Mason has spent years cleaning up his brother’s messes, never giving up on him or the hope that he can pull himself together, but now his brother has been sent to prison, and Mason is struggling with that.

Glory Tolson tracks Mason down out of desperation. She’s pregnant and alone, and she’s searching for Max – the father of her baby after they spent a weekend together 7 months ago. She hasn’t seen him since their time together, but he deserves to know he has a son on the way, and her search leads her to Mason’s doorstep.

It’s a messy situation, but once Mason wraps his head around it all, he offers Glory a place a stay, wanting to be close to the only family that he has left. It’s not easy to get Glory on board with that plan, and takes some convincing form Mason, but with few other options or supports, Glory eventually agrees, setting the stage for the fun to come.

Glory is a fantastic character. She’s smart and brave, and all sass and independence. She doesn’t take advantage of Mason, and she doesn’t actively push him away, balancing his presence in her life perfectly, and allowing him to be a part of her pregnancy. And Mason is just gorgeous. He’s naturally a helper, and he has the biggest heart. Watching him welcome Glory into his life is so sweet, and seeing how excited and emotional he is about the upcoming birth of his nephew is adorable!

But beneath their near-familial ties, there is attraction. Their distant connection to each other is enough for both of them keep their distance, but it doesn’t stop their feelings from growing, and as they laugh, joke, and talk together, they become close friends… with a sizzling undercurrent of attraction.

I had a feeling that Mason Stark was my person. And I couldn’t even have him.

The intensity of their feelings for each other create this wonderful sense of anticipation. We all know what’s going to happen, waiting for it had me madly flipping pages on my kindle just waiting for the spark that will change everything. And when it comes, holy hot damn!

He didn’t coax my mouth open. He wasn’t gentle. And I’d never in a million years expect him to be. He took what he wanted from me like it was his anyway.
And even though I was too scared to admit yet, it was.

Sweet and gorgeous Mason is a wicked dirty talker, and though there’s not a lot of sexy time, what is there is hot as hell. Mason holds nothing back in sharing his feelings with Glory, and though she is more hesitant, I loved watching them together. They are honest and functional, and things between them develop so naturally, and their love story had me swooning.

There is a bit of drama, but it’s resolved well, and there are scenes that left my eyes shining with happy tears, and an epilogue which finishes everything off beautifully.

This is such a great read. Sweet, fun, and gorgeously romantic, I loved it.

4 stars.

What a great journey with Glory and Mason! The Final Play is funny, sweet, heart wrenching and just so wonderful.
Mason is NFL player and the only thing he loves more is his twin brother Max. It has been a strained relationship with them for years and the only time Max reaches out is when he is in trouble. Finally, Mason has had enough and even though it breaks his heart he must leave him in prison this time.
Glory Tolson is a woman that has always made her own way and never depended on anyone, but she finds herself on Mason's doorstep looking for his brother and very pregnant with Max's child. Mason is not prepared for this whirlwind that is Glory. She is strong, smart, independent, frustrating and everything he never knew he needed in his life. She is not here for a handout and will surprise him at every turn. He may feel as though he has lost Max, but he will not lose this baby and Glory. They may be the only family he has left!
This couple has great chemistry, wonderful smart witty banter and are just so darn cute and sassy together!

This was definitely my favorite one. I absolutely loved this one. I think my main issue was when it became romantic like the transition wasn’t smooth but other than that I loved this book. I think it was my favorite from the three and I think by the end I was kind of tearing up because everyone just was so happy together and it’s just so found family trope and I love them so so much. And then the baby and the surprise pregnancy was sooo good.

tropes:
✨surprise pregnancy (H is baby’s uncle)
✨age gap
✨sports romance
✨found family

I think this was also more more emotional because of Max. I mean every single book had an emotional element and it always hit me hard, they were really well-written. The emotional scenes of the beginning were good. The third one was about Max and Mason and their family and I don’t know it just hit me hard and I love them and Max and I wanna hug him and I’m so glad he’s okay now.

Glory and Mason and the baby I love them and then the Callihan family also I love them. I am so happy I read this series. I didn’t know what to expect but it surprised me because it was light and fun but also emotional and I don’t know I liked it.

This one the conflict at the end wasn’t so rushed like a complained before in the other books. I’m very glad about that, it was better and the beginning was just so nice with the enemies to lovers vibe and I just I really loved this. I really devoured this series.

I really recommend it to anyone who likes romance and found family and just fun/light books.

We met Mason Stark in the first book of this series, and I fell in love with him then. This big teddy bear of a linebacker bulldozed his way into his new teammate's life, adopting both Luk and his special needs sister as family. It feels like I’ve waited an eternity for Mason's story, and it was. So. Worth. The. Wait!

I loved every second of getting to know Mason better. I had no idea he was a twin, but his brother Max is definitely the other half of his soul. But after a childhood tragedy, while Mason was assuaging his grief with football, Max was burying his pain in addiction. Mason has spent decades cleaning up Max's messes and trying to get Max to stay clean. When a pregnant woman shows up at Mason's door looking for baby daddy, Max, Mason isn’t completely taken aback.

Glory Tolson is used to life kicking her when she's down, but Mason’s the less-than-pleasant reception surprised even her. He's bossy, arrogant, overbearing and bossy. So very, very bossy. She doesn’t have a nickel to her name, but she's not about to be intimidated by this giant of a man. She may be the size of a pixie, but her sass, independence and determination outweigh the bossy linebacker.

This one is laugh-out-loud funny, sweet and heartfelt (made me cry, dang it!), and holy hades H O T! Seriously, turn on the AC and get ready for a very dirty-talking Mason (if you’re unnerved by the C word, here's your warning). These two are like oil and water and kept me entertained throughout with their banter and snark. Mason is my favorite fictional sports hero ever, and I know you'll love every bit of this evocative, exhilarating, extraordinary read!

"It seems like forever that I have been waiting for Mason’s book, but after I read the blurb I was a bit hesitant because of the whole Max (his twin) and who he was to Glory. That really didn’t sit well with me, but truthfully I ended up not caring about that whole past relationship because as the story unfolds it ended up being clear as day that there never was a relationship between the two.
I loved Mason. If I thought he was great in The Red Zone, he was nothing short of outstanding in this book. I thought he went above and beyond for Ellie, but how he stepped in and stepped up for Glory and then little Sage is basically the best book boyfriend material right there.
I truly hope that there will be more books to come because this little football world makes for some of the best sports romance novels I have ever read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book." ~Sharon

I had a feeling Max’s story was gonna be an epic one. And we got it! I laughed, I yelled(mostly at the brother) and I cheered this crazy couple on. Total opposites that just seemed to make perfect sense together. ~Jen

THE FINAL PLAY by Amie Knight starts out with a rather sad beginning. We get to see Mason Stark (Who we met in THE RED ZONE Book) but in this prologue he is a 12 year old. We also find out he has an identical twin. The only difference being a dimple & an eyebrow scar.

The story starts out in Chapter 1, with Mason in present time at age 37 & still playing football. He is one of the best linebackers ever & never wants to stop playing. But realistically knew that football wasn't a forever sport. He was at his home when a beautiful tiny woman, who is obviously pregnant, comes to his door. He thinks she is after his money & is downright rude & mean to her. When she tells him it is his brother Max she is looking for, then his interest is suddenly changed. Once she hears that Max is in jail, she just wants to leave. Then it is Mason on pursuit to find out the story. What were the odds that Max would sleep with the only woman on earth that attracted more trouble than him?

The tiny pixie woman was named Glory Tolson. He learned that she was the best cook ever. Mason also was learning, the final play wasn't always the end. Sometimes it was the beginning of something far more beautiful, because these days were the Glory days.

5 Star Review of The Final Play (Summerville Sports #3) by Amie Knight

Having read a number of books by Amie Knight I could not wait to read linebacker Mason and Glory’s story. It was an entertaining read that ticked a number of boxes for me. When Glory explodes into Mason’s life, pregnant with his twin brother Max’s child, Mason knows his life is about to become complicated. However neither Mason or Glory had any idea just how complicated life was about to get.

Alone with nowhere to go Mason offers Glory a place to stay. Complications arise when Mason falls for Glory, is it acceptable to fall for the woman who is pregnant with his brother’s baby? Poor Mason is torn and yet she has brought such life into his life and he is convinced that he has finally found “the one”.

I fell hard and fast for Mason Stark, he is totally swoon worthy and my heart went out to him being the one who always has to come to Max’s rescue and clean up his messes. Glory Tolson has had a hard life and but she is such a feisty, sassy woman who I admired a great deal.

The banter between them was witty and I found myself laughing out loud on occasion. It was steamy and romantic and it was fun to watch their relationship develop.

I am a huge fan of the Summerville Sports Series and could not wait to get my greedy hands on The Final Play. The Final Play is a fun and entertaining sports romance that will leave readers begging for more….

When it comes to Glory, Mason never stood a chance. This feisty girl blew into his life like a Category 5 Hurricane and literally turned his world upside down. But, from the moment these two characters met, all bets were off. Mason’s broody, moody attitude was no match for the fire inside Glory. From their entertaining banter and the way they fought passionately, you just know their story would be explosive once they finally gave in.

The Final Play is a fantastic read from beginning to end. I was hooked on Mason and Glory from the very first page. I adored Mason’s makeshift family and easily they accepted Glory. I loved how much Mason loved his twin brother Max in spite of all the drama he caused him. I loved the way Glory and Max were with one another and loved seeing their story come full circle.

The Final Play gave me everything I was looking for and then some. From a captivating storyline to entertaining characters. To an unforgettable love story that not only heats up the pages but will also make you swoon. This book had it all and I enjoyed every single second of it.

Mason & Glory are a beautiful couple! Their story fits right into this series. I fell in love with Mason's heart two books ago. 😀

I was pulled in from the first page, heart soaring & breaking for Mason & Max. I just want to give them all the hugs! Their relationship is as important as the romantic one.

I love the banter & "fighting" between Mase & Glory, bc it's more banter & no real heat behind the "fights." And the laughter & joy Scarlett, Ella, & Hazel bring with their scenes... *chef's kiss* We also can't forget Luk, who still makes me grin & swoon!

This whole story is so well paced & wonderfully told! Definite favorite!!

The Final Play by A. Knight is the third stand-alone in the Summerville Sports Series.
Mason Stark is a 37 year old NFL Player. He doesn't have much of a family, except his best friend Luk and his family. His twin is estranged, and that's it.
Glory Tolson is a 26 year old who had a rough upbringing. And now she drew the short stick, again.
Single and preggo with noone around is she looking for her baby daddy. And Mason is the one she stumbles over.
These two,let me tell you, I fell in insta-love with the characters and the beautiful, gripping, emotional story. At first it seems they don't have much in common, but at the second look, sorry not sorry, no spoilers here.
TFP is just as great as teh other books in this series. And I'm going to do a reread of the previous books in this series, Luk and Scarlett with Emma, Hazel and Oliver are waiting for me.
I recommend the book, 5 stars.

Holy. Emotions. As I sit here, just after finishing this book, my mind is still reeling. I'm a newbie to the brilliance that is Amie Knight and I have just become a lifelong fan! Glory and Mason just utterly stole my heart, overwhelmed me with love, and forced tears to stream from my face. What a beautifully written love story. What an amazing way to honor the struggles so many of our loved ones go through, without letting that storyline take over the book. I am just in total and complete awe... I don't even have words for how much I LOVED this book. Excuse me while I go read everything else she's ever written, I'll see you on another page.

This series has been incredible so far and this new addition to it made it even better!

The heartwrenching way this book starts out gave me some pretty valuable insight into Mason’s childhood that was both tragic and touching.

Glory’s appearance in Mason’s life comes as a total shock to him, but it’s pretty darn entertaining for the reader! And the entertainment doesn’t stop there as their connection is definitely heated, in more ways than one.

Their witty banter, fiery chemistry and appearances of the characters from the first two books made it an absolutely unputdownable fun read!

I could not wait for Mason's story after first meeting him in The Red Zone, and Amie has given us an unforgettable read. I loved this book so much!!
This touching story of tragedy, love and family gave all the feels whilst taking me on an emotional rollercoaster. I was laughing one minute and crying the next. Mason and Glory's relationship may have started as unusual and complicated, but they balanced each other out perfectly, turning this heart wrenching story into a tear-jerking, heart warming, phenomenal book.
I highly recommend this book, and the Summerville Sports Series, as an absolute must read.

Oh my heart! What a perfect outcome for an impossible situation! The Final Play was the third book in Amie’s Summerville Sports series. It was sassy, sexy, and so emotional!

Mason had built his life around football, he was dedicated to making it never end. His twin brother on the other hand was the complete opposite, finally landing himself in jail. Would Mason continue to help clean up his messes or finally be done?

Glory decided she needed help and set out to find Max to tell him she was pregnant. Only he was nowhere to be found. As a last resort she showed up at his twin brothers house. What she wasn’t expecting to find was a completely stubborn man who wouldn’t take no for an answer. Knowing Max would not be able to help, would she let Mason?

I have loved Mason since I first met him, but I fell even more! Finding out his backstory broke my heart but I loved getting to see him get his happy ending! Their banter was perfect! Loved the entire book! I hope we get to see more of them!!

I adored the first two books in Amie Knight’s Summerville Sports series, finding them to be emotional stories that hooked me hard. With The Final Play following a character I’ve adored since his introduction, I went into this one with high hopes. While this one did grow on me, I didn’t quite love it in the way I had hoped.

As with the prior books in the series, this book was filled with emotion and had me unable to put it down. While I was hooked on the events and desperate to see how the emotional elements played out, I never quite felt the connection between the characters. There was the potential for it to be highly addictive and rip my heart out, yet I felt it was too simple and just happened. I was ready for angst and emotion, and never really received it between the two of them. Had there been deeper exploration and had things not been accepted quite so easily, I’m sure I would have loved this one as much as the prior books in the series. As it was, it was simply an okay read instead of the mind-blowing read I had hoped for.

Perhaps I’m just being too picky because I adored the main character in the prior books and had high hopes for his story. After all, many seem to have loved this one as much as the prior books.

Hands down my favorite Amie Knight book to date! I couldn’t help, but fall in love with Mason & Glory and their journey. Their journey wasn’t always easy, but it was worth it in the end.

Mason & Glory were just what each other needed in their lives. I loved that their story was full of heart! I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

I can’t wait to see what adventures Amie Knight will take her readers on next!

Phenomenal book . I was capture by the prologue in the book. I couldn't wait to read about Mason's story. You could feel the characters emotions coming off the pages as you read them. Great things come unexpectedly, especially with this couple. Sage is going to finish off melting your heart if Glory & Mason don't.

romance perfection

Perfection. This book was absolutely the perfect romance. Amie Knight went all out for The Final Play and she could not have done it any better. Mason and Glory are slow burn perfection. Mason and Glory give you laughs, tears and so many swoons. You fall in love with these two and you can’t help but keep flipping the pages to see how it ends.

Highly recommended!

Mason is in the NFL and his twin Max is in trouble again this time Mason is not helping him because he needs to stop the drugs and he goes to jail for 2 years. Glory goes to see Mason who is rude to her until she shows him her pregnant belly and asks where she can find Max. Mason wants to help Glory but she’s stubborn and independent. They come to a compromise and she lets him help her. The attraction between them starts to get intense but Glory is having Max’s baby they really shouldn’t start anything or should they? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. This is my first book by this author definitely not my last. I love how they are some serious situations but also sarcasm and humor. All the feels.

Amie Knight continues to be one of my all-time favorite authors. When I sit down to read one of her books, I know that I will be doing that in one sitting because her books are utterly consuming. I know that she will give me an unforgettable story that is so full of heart and feels special, and I know that she will give me incredible characters that I will instantly be in love with. This book had everything I’ve come to love and expect from this author in spades, and it just had me beyond in love with everything they gave me.

The Final Play what is the perfect conclusion to a series that has owned every single part of my heart and soul.

This series has been an absolute pleasure to read. It has made me cry, it has pulled at every part of my heart, it has made me smile and laugh with the antics of these characters, it has charmed me and wowed me in every way possible, and it has just overwhelmed me in the most amazing way with what these characters have given me.

What Amie Knight has created in her Summerville Sports series is something that I will always treasure. She has found the perfect balance of romance, emotion and heart, football, fun, and feisty characters that will have you desperate for everything they’re willing to give you. I have loved getting each and everyone of these characters journeys in the series, but I won’t lie, ever since that first book, I was ready for Mason‘s story. I was ready to see his journey. I was ready to experience what he had been through because I knew it would be an emotional doozy, but I also knew that I was so ready for it.

What I got with Mason and Glory was nothing short of everything.

It was fiery as hell, forbiddingly romantic in the best way, with so much heart touching emotion that consumed every part of me as I was reading. Those two get off to a very interesting start, and it is memorable to say the least, but what ensued with them as this book continues on is a love story that well make you feel everything. It will show you the authenticity and vulnerability of them both. It will allow you to understand and feel everything with them. It will allow you to get why they make the choices they do, why they build the walls around their hearts that they do, and why the other is the one person who can knock all of those walls down. It will allow you to be at the forefront of it all as they feel and share what they do, as they put it all on the line, and as they see what could be in what seems like an impossible situation.

What Amie Knight gives you with Mason and Glory is the actual best. I’m pretty sure that my cheeks were hurting from smiling and laughing so hard at the banter between those two. When I say they are definitely enemies to lovers at the first part of this book, I mean that with the fiber of my soul, and I mean that in the best possible way. They have the best push and pull that is so intense, that is so fiery, that is so sassy and personality driven, and that will have you loving it all. They get on each other‘s nerves, they push each other‘s buttons, and they know exactly what to say to get the other simultaneously turned on and annoyed as hell. I loved being in the thick of that dynamic and I was a living for every single line out of their mouths. The way that that continues and changes and grows and develops over the course of the story with him just amplifies everything you feel for them.

Trust me when I say that.

Mason and Glory are two people who shouldn’t want to be together, yet can’t help but be drawn closer and closer to one another. He is the star football player in the NFL. Football is his livelihood, it’s in his blood, and it is who he is. After a tragedy that tore his family apart, football was a staple. And so was his brother Max. They both went through a lot of trauma, and only one of them is doing okay at the start of this book. That’s where Glory comes in. She shared a wild weekend with Max about seven months ago, and now she’s expecting a little bundle of joy that belongs to him. Bound and determined to keep the only family he really has left, Mason sets out to show Glory that he can be there to help her through this and will support her. Even if they don’t like each other and even if they get on each other‘s nerves, he wants to be there for her. But she is bound and determined to do it on her own because that is what life has shown her, and that is all she can trust.

These two definitely get off to a rocky start, but the more they get to know one another, the more that he tries to help her, and the more she tries to push him away, the more they realize that there is something about the other that they can’t deny… And that they can’t run away from. I absolutely lived for that dynamic, that vibrancy between them, and that push and pull that built in the most glorious and slow burn way throughout this book. It was absolutely everything and that combined with the forbidden nature of it all because she was having a baby with his brother and he wasn’t supposed to want her, and she wasn’t supposed to want him, and the fact that they were so seemingly opposite in so many ways, but how it also just worked, made for an absolutely incredible read.

I really cannot say that enough.

Amie Knight delivered it all in this book. She gave me a romance that was swoon worthy. She gave me a romance that was so honest and real. She gave me a romance that allowed me to peel back the layers of these characters and truly understand their hearts and their minds and what was driving them. She gave me a romance that was all consuming in every way. She gave me a romance that was beautiful and emotional and thoughtful and sweet and just genuinely enjoyable to read.

She gave me a romance that delivered everything I needed and more. And it was the actual best.

One of my favorite aspects of this book, that I felt from the very first page of that prologue, was the level of emotion and vulnerability that Amie Knight so seamlessly weaves into the story with these characters. She wholeheartedly enveloped you within that emotion from the very start. She let you understand the trauma of what both Mason and Max went through as children. She let you understand what has driven them apart as brothers. She let you understand Glory and her life and her struggle. She lets you understand what these characters have been through. She lets you understand their worries and vulnerabilities. She lets you understand what keeps them apart when all they want to do is run to one another. She lets you get and understand the why behind their fears and what holds them back. But more than that she also lets you get what eventually pushes them forward. She lets you get what gives them the faith to try. She lets you understand what makes them want to have more. She lets you be there in that tipping point when that more becomes something so very tangible for them.

She lets you be there through every facet of their journey and it is beautiful.

It is meaningful. It is heartfelt. It is genuine and real and complicated in messy and it is theirs and it is one of the best stories I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading.

I loved everything that Mason and Glory shared. I loved that they had a bumpy and very memorable journey to finding their way. I loved that they so got off on the wrong foot, but definitely found their footing. I loved that they made each other realize that more was possible and that even though that more could scare you out of your ever loving mind, that more could also give you everything. I loved that they built a level of trust that allowed them to open up to one another. I loved that they really saw one another. I loved that they understood that the other had been through so much, I loved that they weren’t afraid to fight for each other when it really mattered, and I loved that they weren’t afraid to be vulnerable and real when they really needed to.

Their story definitely isn’t easy and it will break your heart a time or two, but they will show you that love can give you everything. They will show you that love can heal you. They will show you that love can give you a family. They will show you that love can give you hope. They will show you that love can bring you to places you never even thought were possible or even considered. They will show you that love can really help you find your way, even in the hardest and darkest of moments. They will show you that anything is possible if you keep your heart open to the one person who scares you out of your mind, but who also could make all the difference.

Amie Knight completely outdid herself in The Final Play.

Just when I thought I couldn’t love her books more, she went to and amplify the love I have her characters. The way that she let me feel and get every single part of this story with Mason and Glory as they took a chance on love and friendship and family was nothing short of wonderful. The way that she let me experience everything as these characters bare their souls to one another was absolutely beautiful. The way that she let me bask in the antics of their banter and their back-and-forth, while also simultaneously melting at the fiery and intense connection that was building between them was utterly incredible. The way that she just allowed me to be in this book, living these moments with these characters was absolutely fantastic.

This book was the perfect conclusion to a series that I have loved from the start. Getting to be with all of these characters as they celebrate the triumphs of football and family and friendship and love was absolutely beautiful and so meaningful. It was also all kinds of fun. Getting to be with these characters through thick and thin, through ups and downs, and through every crazy memorable moment just made this an absolutely phenomenal series to read and experience. This author perfectly balances that charm and that spice and that element of love, while also giving you so much heart and emotion.

Amie Knight brings it all together in the perfect package that will have you smiling and laughing and crying and feeling everything, and honestly that’s just scratching the surface of what makes this such an incredible book and series to experience.

I loved everything about this book and I really cannot recommend it enough. It was phenomenally written and crafted, it was so beautifully authentic and emotional, and it just blew me away with what I got with these characters. There were so many pieces and layers of them that’s so perfectly came together in this book and I just loved it. I loved what these characters made me feel. I loved what they gave me with them. I loved what they made me think and wonder and get along the way as they fought like hell for that family and that love that was so close to being in their reach. I loved getting to see them realize that love and healing and hope can be possible.

If you have loved a book by this author, then I guarantee you will love this one. If you’ve never read a book by this author, it’s a perfect place to jump in. Even though it’s the end of the line for these characters in this series, it’s also a perfect place to start the emotional love story that this author so beautifully gives you. If you love a good sports romance or a single parent romance with a for bidden twist, then run yourself to this book. And if you love a book that will make you feel at all and that will have you melting into a puddle of goo with what you get with these characters, then just do yourself a favor and read this book. As soon as humanly possible.

Amie Knight delivered it all in The Final Play, and I really could not have asked for more. What she gave me with her characters, what she allowed me to experience, what she allowed me to feel with the impact of their love was everything. It truly resonated with me in every way and I could not be more in love with Mason and Glory and what they share together. The way that these characters come together is unorthodox and a little crazy at times, but it’s them and it works and it’s fucking beautiful. And getting a love story that celebrates the possibilities of what could be, that celebrates the family you build and the family you have, and getting a story that celebrates embracing what made you you to be the person you are and the person who gets to love and be loved…well that is just magnificent.

And it makes for a hell of a love story. Trust me on that.

recensione a cura del blog "Libri magnetici" by Meghan

«Alcuni giorni erano tremendi. In altri avrei voluto solo dimenticare.»

ALL THE FEELS!!!! Laughter, tears, major heartstrings being pulled, The Final Play has it all!

Amie Knight made my heart race from the very beginning of this book while I was blinking back tears. Then it wasn't long until I was laughing maniacally from one chapter to the next. Amie brought out all my feelings while reading the journey of Mason, Glory and even Max through this final book in the Summerville series.

Mason and Max are identical twins, but like a lot of siblings, they are complete opposites in personality. Mason is an NFL linebacker whereas Max is just beginning a two year stint in jail. It truly pains Mason that Max is taking such a hard road though his life. Mason is a protector, a nurturer and has sort of a hero complex by nature. So when a tiny little tornado lands on his doorstep claiming to be pregnant with Max's baby, Mason's inner instinct takes over.

Glory is tiny, but mighty in spirit. She has no family, no job and it took her months to try and track down any information on the man who left her with the present from a weekend of fun. Asking Max's brother for help was her last hope, but she never expected to find more when she landed on his doorstep. Friends, family, and a purpose for after the baby is born.

Glory and Mason's story is full of every emotion that overflowed and spilled out of my heart. It's such a wonderful look at family, whether it's the one you are related to or the one you create through life's experiences.

It's almost hard to describe how great this book is, but it truly touched my heart. Yes, it was full of a ton of laughter, which I love, but the emotional depth of this book is what will stay with me for a long time to come.

This story was everything! It was funny, heartwarming and so hot!

"She was really spicing things up for me. I hadn't realized how boring my life had been before the whirlwind that was Glory Tolson had appeared in my life."

When Glory Tolson and Mason Stark first meet, they don't make a good impression on each other. However, when Mason realises that she's pregnant with his estranged twin's baby, he's desperate to help her and maintain a connection to what little family he has left. Glory and her pride fight him every step of the way, but his patience, forthrightness, and good heart slowly break down her barriers.

"She hadn't been loved properly in her entire life. I was going to fix that."

Glory and Mason were a match made in sassy heaven! I adored how they riled each other up ("Her sassiness brought out my assiness." LOL) but the attraction between them is real and fiery. I adored watching the trust and friendship build between them, and their fall into love felt natural and beautiful. Mason was to die for! I loved his soft, loyal heart. He was also fun and hella hot! Glory was spunky, stubborn and proud. She was an adorable spitfire who gave Mason a run for his money. I just loved everything about this story and I was pretty much a mushy puddle by the end of it!
