I had the privilege to read a digital ARC of I'm YOURS. This book is everything I'd been hoping and expecting of Seth and Jenna's story. After reading You Feel Like Home, I was anxiously awaiting this release.
Seth is a man with a past, which is and will always be a favorite trope for me. He's a tough, sometimes grumpy cinnamon roll hero, and, oh, his soft side just melts the reader's heart. The way he cherishes Jenna, and loves on her kids, and even the way he interacts with the teens in their home renovation project made Seth all the more endearing.
Then there is sweet Jenna, who sometimes made me laugh too as she discovered her feelings for Seth. She's a single mom raising 2 little kiddos, who are the absolutely cutest! Jenna made for a great leading lady and I also enjoyed her relationship with her friends and the way they encouraged her (although Jenna may have felt it was more like pushing at times😜). There are so many different aspects and just day to day life in this book that makes it a nice, character-driven slow read (in a good way) as you get to really learn how each character is and dive into their personal feelings...especially so with it being written in first person.
Oh, then the plot twists, surprises, and struggles added so much to the story. Things I so was not expecting. I liked the way some of them were resolved and others were left hanging letting the reader wonder what the future might hold.
But the ending...absolutely satisfying and sweet. Through and through, a fun clean summer read with lake life vibes, definite chemistry between the characters, a sweet romance, deep aspects, and real life...oh, and some humor too. More than once I caught myself snickering or snorting.
Also, this is a stand alone novel, but it ties in directly with the Bryant Family series. But the author does a great job in making sure you don't feel left out on any details, so you can easily read it without having read the others. But you may as well, right?
Only disclaimer is that I would mention there is use of language.

what a sweet and swoony story. jenna and seth were made for each other! after being friends for three years, these two finally start admitting to themselves that they have feelings for each other and thank goodness! because the tension between these two — phew! seth was the perfect hero. i loved his focus and determination once he set his heart on something, especially when it was jenna! she didn’t stand a chance. that first kiss was fierce…*chef’s kiss*. seth really stepped up to be the man that jenna, ella and eli needed. jenna was such a sweetheart and she was just what seth needed to help him work out his past and vice versa. they truly complemented each other so swell. some other things i loved (may contain spoilers):

I’m Yours by Cleopatra Margot is a deeply warm, small‑town contemporary romance about Jenna Williams, a devoted single mother and artist who has always put her children first and avoided risking her heart again, and Seth Johnson, the thoughtful chief of police of Balsam Falls who finds himself slowly falling for her even as he tries to protect his own carefully guarded heart. When I read I’m Yours I was struck by how rich and full this romance feels, not because it relies on fireworks or dramatic twists, but because of the way both Jenna and Seth carry their pasts with grace even while cautiously learning to trust again. Jenna’s fierce devotion to her kids, her art, and her sense of self made me feel deeply connected to her life and struggles, and Seth’s gentle kindness, strength, and moments of vulnerability made him such a comforting presence on the page.

Margot has been a published writer since she was 16 with her first book, Christmas with Cocoa (Faith to Love #1). Since then, she’s written six more books in that series, two books in the Bryant Family Series, and now I’m Yours. She is currently working on the third (3rd) BRYANT FAMILY series book, Say You Won’t Let Go. It has gone through a few title changes, character changes, and even plot changes since her announcement of it.
I got introduced to her work when I did a book blitz two years ago (June 2020) for the sixth (6th) book of her FAITH TO LOVE series. But, the first book I read was With You I Am (WYIA) of THE BRYANT FAMILY series. I fell in LOVE with the series and her writing. I am STILL laughing about Noelle, Wynn, and the frying pan.

When I read You Feel Like Home (YFLH), I HAD to have Seth’s story – which is this book – I’m Yours. Those wondering about the title, it comes nearly at the end of the book in something that Jenna says to him.
While Margot gives the readers a bit of information from the first two books to see the connections here, I honestly recommend reading those two books before this one. In fact, in WYIA, Marshall and Wynn are working on Jenna’s home, and it is clear that Seth is sweet on her in that book. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable describing this as a “standalone” read.
In YFLH, it is Seth’s sister – Jess – who gets her happily-ever-after with Marshall. But, it is also that book that further details the Jess and Seth family background.
So, when I learned the author was writing Seth’s story – NOTHING was going to keep me away from it.
Now, to be fairly honest – I’m not a fan of the “illustrated” covers. And, I absolutely ADORED the covers for WYIA and YFLH. But, a cover isn’t everything – it is the story in between the cover.
This is a pretty big story and I had to stop and start it a few times to get into the rhythm. There were times I couldn’t put it down and needed to – to get some rest for the night (part of the reason I no longer take books to bed).
This is also a book not to rush through. One should take their time to savor and relish in this book about second chances and the true meaning of family. It is definitely an experience.
Unlike the other two books, this does have some “language” content – “s” word and a variation of, cr@p, a reference to the middle finger being used, h#ll. These are exceedingly rare and could be easily overlooked. I think there is perhaps less than three uses overall.
It wouldn’t be the first time a bad word or so was overlooked for a good story though – it happened with the movie: Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) which only earned a PG-13 rating.

Each one has had a “slight” run-in with Seth and this acts as not only a “free” renovation, but some kind of community service. Though, let’s face it – the kids are NOT going to like it … in the moment.
What is interesting – the author does include some “trigger” warnings:

Mentions of Violence
On-page Panic Attack
I also want to note there is a mention of a miscarriage in this as well.
I love when authors include trigger warnings for their books. While no writer wants to lose a reader, it is better to lose a reader than risk a HORRIBLE review based on the reader’s reaction to disturbing content.
The short chapters kept me reading long past my bedtime. At times there was a bit more narrative than I like, but that is common with a first person POV.
The beginning was hysterical – Jenna breaking into someone’s house with a pregnant woman. The house happens to be Seth’s, the pregnant woman is his sister Jess. It is for a birthday party – his, and he doesn’t like celebrating the day either.
Despite his feelings about another relationship after Sierra – he has NO qualms being there for Jenna – just don’t bring up “love”. Of course, Seth’s behavior – even as a friend – has Jenna comparing him to her ex-husband, Pete. While not an abusive marriage, it wasn’t a supportive one. And, she truly sees Seth as part of her family.
What’s interesting – those around them are wondering, after three (3) years of friendship – why aren’t they married to each other?
Even Jenna’s kids, Eli and Ella, ADORE “office Seth”. And, Jenna admits to herself, he’d be a catch. But, she decides to focus on an imaginary version of Seth – “Allen”. I almost had to laugh at her fantasy.
The mayor drags Seth into a home renovation project – and Seth enlists Jenna to help him with the teens. The house, and I agreed with Colin at first – is probably better suited for demolition. Formerly owned by a smoking senior, Marie, it needs a LOT of TLC – perhaps even more than the kids.
SIDE NOTE: My grandmother went by her middle name of Marie, she was a smoker most of her life – I can 100% attest to the smell being EVERYWHERE … carpet, walls, furniture. It is difficult to get out.
And, the woman loved her Folgers (same as my grandma). If the author hadn’t been born after my grandma died, I’d swear they’d have met each other.
I also know about shag carpet (shuddering). If the kids thought it was bad – wait until it falls apart every time you vacuum. I had no choice – the place was a rental.
Getting back to the story …
The kids, despite their run-ins with Seth, have goals that they eventually reveal:

🏠 Alessia – architect
🚓 Luka – a cop, like Seth (his father and grandfather are pushing being a lawyer)
Margot has several connected story arcs going on in this story:

🛠️ 💵 The continuance of the Jude/Bryant Brothers condo deal
💻✉️ Jenna looking for her sister Jade
Some of the best moments are the “real” moments that could be boring, but are heart-warming – scenes such as when Seth takes Ella on a daddy/daughter date for her birthday, spending the day at the lake, and a gut-wrenching post-fatal accident that has Seth admitting to Jenna his true feelings.
It is also heart-warming to see the teens work together on a project and learn to deal with their lives or at best the stresses in their lives, including anxiety and abuse.
Margot is a very talented author who weaves a compelling story that keeps the reader’s attention from beginning to end. It can sometimes be an impossible task for a big book (story itself is 418 pages). She also includes the older generation struggling to understand new things – “bookstagramming” (John Bryant) and social media with its good/bad uses.
Margot infuses realistic family and life drama with elements of compassion and humor (Ember and her kitchen woes), and highlights that we’re all deserving of a second chance with a happy ending.
While self-published books can often get a bad reputation – this is an author who defies those expectations from cover-to-cover.
As far as typos and grammatical issues, I did find some instances of the “could care less” which seemed to work, but contradicted the “couldn’t care less” rule. It didn’t detract from the story though. And, I’ve seen typos in mainstream publishing – so I did overlook it, especially because of the story.
This is a beautiful story – comical, emotional, intense, heart-breaking, character driven, and realistic.
I absolutely adored the way Seth stepped up to “father” Ella and Eli after Jenna’s divorce. And, I love how the kids adapted to him.
As of note –> from the age of 4 I grew up without a father. I last saw him in August 1980, last spoke on the phone to him in 1986 (he was calling from jail). He tried two times (2015, 2017) to connect on social media. The first time he blocked me after I was a bit timid and didn’t want him to view my private Facebook, in 2017 I blocked him. At no time did he attempt to reintroduce himself. His wife was stalking my accounts in 2019 and she was blocked. This came after a lifetime of rejection – and after being told by a social worker that he “showed no interest” in me. Like Ella, I often wondered if he did love me.
Unlike Pete, he refused to pay child support or even enforce his visitation rights.
So, seeing the Pete/kids dynamic was realistically gut-wrenching.
Those who read the first two books in the Bryant Family series will NOT want to miss this. As stated, some of the story lines are carried over, especially one from YFLH with Seth and Jess’ father Jude and the company he is a silent partner in. It also gives some “spoilers” as to what has happened since the end of the other two books.
As I have wanted Ember’s story since meeting her in the first book, and I want to know what happened with Libby the Rooster (who provided some comic relief in WYIA) – I will be reading Say You Won’t Let Go (STWLG) next year when it comes out.

In YFLH, it is Seth’s sister – Jess – who gets her happily-ever-after with Marshall. But, it is also that book that further details the Jess and Seth family background.
So, when I learned the author was writing Seth’s story – NOTHING was going to keep me away from it.
Now, to be fairly honest – I’m not a fan of the “illustrated” covers. And, I absolutely ADORED the covers for WYIA and YFLH. But, a cover isn’t everything – it is the story in between the cover.
This is a pretty big story and I had to stop and start it a few times to get into the rhythm. There were times I couldn’t put it down and needed to – to get some rest for the night (part of the reason I no longer take books to bed).
This is also a book not to rush through. One should take their time to savor and relish in this book about second chances and the true meaning of family. It is definitely an experience.
Unlike the other two books, this does have some “language” content – “s” word and a variation of, cr@p, a reference to the middle finger being used, h#ll. These are exceedingly rare and could be easily overlooked. I think there is perhaps less than three uses overall.
It wouldn’t be the first time a bad word or so was overlooked for a good story though – it happened with the movie: Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) which only earned a PG-13 rating.

Each one has had a “slight” run-in with Seth and this acts as not only a “free” renovation, but some kind of community service. Though, let’s face it – the kids are NOT going to like it … in the moment.
What is interesting – the author does include some “trigger” warnings:

Mentions of Violence
On-page Panic Attack
I also want to note there is a mention of a miscarriage in this as well.
I love when authors include trigger warnings for their books. While no writer wants to lose a reader, it is better to lose a reader than risk a HORRIBLE review based on the reader’s reaction to disturbing content.
The short chapters kept me reading long past my bedtime. At times there was a bit more narrative than I like, but that is common with a first person POV.
The beginning was hysterical – Jenna breaking into someone’s house with a pregnant woman. The house happens to be Seth’s, the pregnant woman is his sister Jess. It is for a birthday party – his, and he doesn’t like celebrating the day either.
Despite his feelings about another relationship after Sierra – he has NO qualms being there for Jenna – just don’t bring up “love”. Of course, Seth’s behavior – even as a friend – has Jenna comparing him to her ex-husband, Pete. While not an abusive marriage, it wasn’t a supportive one. And, she truly sees Seth as part of her family.
What’s interesting – those around them are wondering, after three (3) years of friendship – why aren’t they married to each other?
Even Jenna’s kids, Eli and Ella, ADORE “office Seth”. And, Jenna admits to herself, he’d be a catch. But, she decides to focus on an imaginary version of Seth – “Allen”. I almost had to laugh at her fantasy.
The mayor drags Seth into a home renovation project – and Seth enlists Jenna to help him with the teens. The house, and I agreed with Colin at first – is probably better suited for demolition. Formerly owned by a smoking senior, Marie, it needs a LOT of TLC – perhaps even more than the kids.
SIDE NOTE: My grandmother went by her middle name of Marie, she was a smoker most of her life – I can 100% attest to the smell being EVERYWHERE … carpet, walls, furniture. It is difficult to get out.
And, the woman loved her Folgers (same as my grandma). If the author hadn’t been born after my grandma died, I’d swear they’d have met each other.
I also know about shag carpet (shuddering). If the kids thought it was bad – wait until it falls apart every time you vacuum. I had no choice – the place was a rental.
Getting back to the story …
The kids, despite their run-ins with Seth, have goals that they eventually reveal:

🚓 Luka – a cop, like Seth (his father and grandfather are pushing being a lawyer)
Margot has several connected story arcs going on in this story:

💻✉️ Jenna looking for her sister Jade
Some of the best moments are the “real” moments that could be boring, but are heart-warming – scenes such as when Seth takes Ella on a daddy/daughter date for her birthday, spending the day at the lake, and a gut-wrenching post-fatal accident that has Seth admitting to Jenna his true feelings.
It is also heart-warming to see the teens work together on a project and learn to deal with their lives or at best the stresses in their lives, including anxiety and abuse.
Margot is a very talented author who weaves a compelling story that keeps the reader’s attention from beginning to end. It can sometimes be an impossible task for a big book (story itself is 418 pages). She also includes the older generation struggling to understand new things – “bookstagramming” (John Bryant) and social media with its good/bad uses.
Margot infuses realistic family and life drama with elements of compassion and humor (Ember and her kitchen woes), and highlights that we’re all deserving of a second chance with a happy ending.
While self-published books can often get a bad reputation – this is an author who defies those expectations from cover-to-cover.
As far as typos and grammatical issues, I did find some instances of the “could care less” which seemed to work, but contradicted the “couldn’t care less” rule. It didn’t detract from the story though. And, I’ve seen typos in mainstream publishing – so I did overlook it, especially because of the story.
This is a beautiful story – comical, emotional, intense, heart-breaking, character driven, and realistic.
I absolutely adored the way Seth stepped up to “father” Ella and Eli after Jenna’s divorce. And, I love how the kids adapted to him.
As of note –> from the age of 4 I grew up without a father. I last saw him in August 1980, last spoke on the phone to him in 1986 (he was calling from jail). He tried two times (2015, 2017) to connect on social media. The first time he blocked me after I was a bit timid and didn’t want him to view my private Facebook, in 2017 I blocked him. At no time did he attempt to reintroduce himself. His wife was stalking my accounts in 2019 and she was blocked. This came after a lifetime of rejection – and after being told by a social worker that he “showed no interest” in me. Like Ella, I often wondered if he did love me.
Unlike Pete, he refused to pay child support or even enforce his visitation rights.
So, seeing the Pete/kids dynamic was realistically gut-wrenching.
Those who read the first two books in the Bryant Family series will NOT want to miss this. As stated, some of the story lines are carried over, especially one from YFLH with Seth and Jess’ father Jude and the company he is a silent partner in. It also gives some “spoilers” as to what has happened since the end of the other two books.
As I have wanted Ember’s story since meeting her in the first book, and I want to know what happened with Libby the Rooster (who provided some comic relief in WYIA) – I will be reading Say You Won’t Let Go (STWLG) next year when it comes out.
I would someday love to read the author’s FAITH TO LOVE series.

Well this was adorable. It was so cozy to read at nights. It’s hard for me to summarize the plots involved because there was a lot going on. Jen and Seth and their journey from friends to lovers. Jen and the drama with her ex husband. Seth and his past trauma with his dad. A home renovation with troubled teens. There were a lot of aspects in this universe of Balsam Falls- but I love how detailed this book is on the town and the people in the town.
🚔 Something to note: there’s a lot of names and backstories to keep straight. I was trying to keep track of everyone in the town and what they do/where they work at and how they are connected to the main story. It was difficult to keep straight at times. Especially with a lot of J names. I was confused a bit with Seth and Jen’s family tree and the backstories there. I think part of my confusion is because I haven’t read previous books from this author. I explored a bit and saw that she has other books from this universe with these characters. So I think I’m coming in late which is probably why I was a bit confused.
With that said- I was intrigued enough that I plan to read the others in this series and also the future books that Cleopatra releases. This book was a bit rambly with the internal dialogs - but I personally loved that. It didn’t feel like a cookie cutter plot, and I was wondering where we were going throughout the story- which I really enjoyed.
🚔 Alsooooo- I saw that this author is 19 years old and was blown away!!! The chemistry, the depth of the characters, and the mother’s love for her kids- all of these aspects were so well written!!!

✨this book✨ if you are looking for a feel good, laugh out loud, cringe to yourself, lovable romance this is for you. The setting is perfect, the problems are raw, and the outcome is the perfect bow over this lovely book.

Now the first thing to say is that this book is written by a young indie author. But following her on social media made it that much sweeter to read the first of her books for me. You could really tell how much she loved the story and her characters. The book was filled with big themes and multiple story lines. The setting, Balsam Falls, is to DIE for and so we’ll crafted. I truly felt transported to this fictional little town and all of her perfect characters.
So why only 4 stars? Because there was too much for one book. The book could have easily been turned into 3 just focused on Jenna and Seth. If you follow my reviews I NEED a timeline of events that makes sense and is easy to follow. The time needed and dedicated to certain events needs to be there for me to fully grasp the importance of some events and how they bring the story together. And that just wasn’t always the case for me personally. The timing made little sense on some things and I found myself confused on the pace. But that didn’t take away too much for the majority of the story.
One piece that I think could have been focused on more is the whole home project. I don’t really know why the project was so impactful for the kids because we got very little insight into that. I think it was a bit too much to add those 4 teens with all of their problems to an already really complicated cast of characters. It felt like a side storyline that got lost in the mess of Jenna and Seth’s lives.
Speaking of Jenna and Seth…their romance felt rushed at the end:( a way to tie everything together. I would have LOVED to see another whole story about them continuing to fall in love, get to know more of their families, work through the problems that are bound to come up. They were such amazing characters that I felt cheated out of getting to know them even more. But okay. I’m very happy with the way things ended.
This book goes on my shelf with the read on a rainy day for all the sunny feel good vibes☀️ Well done Cleopatra Margot, I can’t wait to read more of your novels!!!!

I've loved following Cleopatra on social media and really enjoyed another one of her books (You Feel Like Home) so I was excited to read Seth and Jenna's story after meeting them in the previous Bryant series.
As always, this book was 10/10 cute, romantic, and had all the spring and summer vibes. I love single parent/second chance romances and this book did the trope very well. I also really liked seeing Seth's character development throughout the book and even his development from You Feel Like Home. It was so sweet to see him open up and be vulnerable not just with Jenna, but also with his sister and friends. It was heartwarming!
I also loved Jenna's story. Her development to fall in love again after her divorce all the while taking care of her two sweet kids was a delight to read.
There were a few parts at the beginning and some scenes throughout the story that felt more like a stream of consciousness and deviated from the main plot longer than I would have liked. It almost felt like every little thing needed an explanation or needed to be justified when it wasn't always necessary. I found myself skimming those parts until the character came back to the present, but I got used to it after reading a few chapters.
Overall, it was a cute and sweet contemporary romance that had all the spring/summer vibes. I cannot wait to read more of her future books!

This was a very heartwarming read, perfect for reading in the summer or transporting you back there.
Jenna is a single mother and finds her second chance at love quite unexpectedly with Seth. This sweet story was packed full of character development, family bonds, and learning to trust love again.
This story touches on some serious topics as well and I think that Margot navigated them very well. They added depth to the characters as well as the plot and it felt like I was reading about the re-telling of someone’s real life. I really enjoy romance that feels real and that’s what this was for me.

This book was adorable! Absolutely adorable! I received an ARC review from Cleopatra and it was so cute! It took me a little bit for the story to truly grasp me but once it did, it didn't let go and I was sad to say goodbye! It was like reading a lovely Hallmark show with the drama of a telenovela in the best way!
"My life might’ve imploded the day Pete walked out, but I’m living proof that my God is good." ~ Jenna. Let's talk about this wonderful character! She was very enjoyable to read as a mother and as a woman going through a trying divorce as well as beginning to understand her new feelings for Seth. She was bright, just like the color yellow, bubbly, and overall a real spitfire-take-no-crap-but-loves-fiercely type of woman. I enjoyed her relationships with her friends as well as her budding romance with Seth. The plot twists that Jenna goes through were surprising and I felt myself mirroring the emotions she went through as I read her story. I thought she was a wonderful character and loved to see her overcome her struggles and triumph through them.
"Everyone has a dream, but not everyone acknowledges their dream.” ~ Seth.
Well, I didn't know I wanted a Seth in my life, but I will gladly take a hundred. He was a wonderful, strong, bright character with hidden anxieties and fears. His past trauma with both family and dating relationships made me want to just hug him. Being delightfully handsome, he also brought a lot of charm and love into his relationship with Jenna and her kiddos. I loved each of the scenes with Seth, Eli, and Ella, my heart practically melted. I'm a sucker for attractive guys who are good with kids, haha! (Aren't we all?) His issues with his father and subsequentially himself felt heartful and real as I read what he'd gone through. By the end of the novel, I'm pretty sure I was just as in love with him as Jenna.
Both, Jenna and Seth, had trials and deep wounds left on them by other people and they helped each other heal by love and grace to make mistakes. Their relationship was ridiculously cute.
That being said, Seth's career as a Chief of Police was a little unrealistic at some points. I absolutely don't mean this as offensive, but coming from someone in the law enforcement field firsthand, some of the things written that Seth would do weren't exactly correct. Being Chief at thirty-three is extremely rare, but I understand how writing about a field you're not familiar with is hard! Cleopatra did a wonderful job of making the romance the main story and not necessarily Seth's or even Jenna's jobs.
The additional characters of the Bryant family as well as the teenagers involved with the remodeling of the house were a welcome bonus to the storyline. They added depth and growth to not only Jenna and Seth but also to the plot and wholeness of the story!
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a warm, heartfelt, romantic story set with two people who learn to love, grow, and communicate with each other and enemies alike, as well as adorable moments with a mending family and two cute kiddos!

The additional characters of the Bryant family as well as the teenagers involved with the remodeling of the house were a welcome bonus to the storyline. They added depth and growth to not only Jenna and Seth but also to the plot and wholeness of the story!
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a warm, heartfelt, romantic story set with two people who learn to love, grow, and communicate with each other and enemies alike, as well as adorable moments with a mending family and two cute kiddos!

This is the second book I have read by @cleopatra.margot and I have loved both. I was already falling in love with Balsam Falls, but this book makes me want to live there. I’ve been waiting to read Seth and Jenna’s story and it did not disappoint.
If you love books about a single parent and second chances this book is for you.

“Love hurts sometimes. But guess what? Love also heals. At what point do we have to decide we're gonna have to be okay with the risk because the reward coald he infinitely better?”
This book covered some pretty difficult topics very well. It didn’t sugarcoat anything and not every situation had a happy ending, but that’s exactly how real life works. I had a rough childhood and was a single mom until my daughter was 13 months and could relate to some of what both Seth and Jenna were going through.
Seth and Jenna are such a cute couple and I loved their witty banter. Seth is the type of man every single mother dreams of for her and her kids, and I’m not just talking about a hot cop. He took care of Jenna and her kids when it wasn’t his responsibility. Jenna showed Seth that he was deserving of love and a family of his own.
I really love Margot’s style of writing. The character’s inner dialogue (especially Jenna’s) sounds exactly like my own. Reading this book, you would never know it was written by someone so young. I look forward to reading more of her books!
