Okay, this is hands down my favorite book in this series, and I'll tell you why. Because the level of sweet, snark, and alpha growliness is just right. I'm not a fan of fake relationship books usually. I find the level of drama way over the top. If they would just freaking talk to each other half the problem would just, poof, go away. Why do I love this book so much? Honesty. Jackie and Derrick lay it out on the table. Is there subterfuge? Yes. Is it cute and kinda sweet? Also yes. Am I going to read this book again? You bet your hindquarters I will. Cause, as I said this is my hands down favorite book in the series, and I loved this series a ton.

Fake engagement trope? Check. Unexpected real marriage? Check. Badass women? Check! I ADORED this story! You can really see throughout Shelly’s writing how much she has grown as an author and I just enjoyed the whole ride (pun, you’ll get it after you read)

Jackie and Derek
Each time I visit Somerset I fall more in love with the residents. Derek come to Somerset with thoughts of someone else but fell for Jackie. I love how long he waited and how much of a gentleman he wanted to be. So happy they were able to be together.

Jackie
I was so happy Jackie got her story. And with Derek to boot! I’ve been a fan of these two since we met them in the series. So much happens it’s kind of crazy. Learning more about centaurs and Jackie’s past gave really good incite into these characters and made me love them all the more. Great book and part of a great series.

I really enjoyed this installment. I don't typically love the fake relationship trope but it was fun in this one. This was another shorter installment but it was much easier to connect with Jackie and Derek than it was with Frankie and Phillip. I am looking forward to the next book.
