I think that with Apocalypse Z: Book 4 in the Rise of the Undead series, Baileigh Higgins finally hits her stride. In Book 3, the heroes avert a coup only to have another unexpected incident immediately occur to initiate book 4.

I really expected a lull from one book to the next, but that never happened. There is very little pause from one book to the next. Higgins moves the narrative from one deadly obstacle to an unpredictable danger to another impossible situation with such deftness that the suspense is ratcheted to an adrenaline surge that is intense and mind-blowing.

In this one, some of the minor characters step up to stand in the place of those inevitably lost and story arcs alter, personalities become more entrenched, and hidden feelings get expressed. This one really has it all. If the rest of the series continues as well as this installment, then I will give the series as a whole 5 Grey Geeks or stars in GR speak.

I do not think that a piece of something larger can get bigger than the whole, but I was really tempted. IMHO the series already should warrant attention for its unique look at the zombie apocalypse, but I will wait until I finish. Still, a pretty damn good read at 4 and a half Grey Geeks for the blog.

The obstacles to develope and produce the cure continue. The humans are being more if a threat than the zombies. Greed, power, jealousy always brings out the worst in men. I am hooked on this series. I still love all the characters even the villains but I will say I am beyond disappointed in Ethan. Man I expected so much more from him

I have the omnibus edition of this series and it’s a fast-paced read for sure. I love the way the characters are switched to tell the story from various points of view, albeit third person.

There’s plenty of action, and although I don’t like the gore, it’s obviously suitable for this genre.

No spoilers, but recommended.

Book 4 of the 7 book series. Each book picks up right where the precious book left off which I love. There are no gaps in the storyline at all. Just like the previous 3 books, this is full of action and emotion. This book focuses a lot on Amy and even though you already knew she was a good kid, this book really re-emphasizes that point. It also delved deeper into her character with her strength and how smart she is. Initially I was concerned she’d be a bother and nothing but an extra pair of idle hands and mouth to fed but that is the complete opposite of her character. This book also continues demonstrating the power of family and what they will do and go through for each other.

I am so happy that this series has displayed smart, capable, tough women who have had to make difficult decisions but are still loving and gentle when needed. The male main characters are also wonderful in that they listen and understand how each person in the group brings something unique and different to the table and how they are able to use those strengths to survive and try and mitigate each others weaknesses.

An excellent adventure is still underway and I’m excited for book 5!

Listened to the audio on Audiobooks.com with narration by Kristin James. Narrator does a great job. She changes her voice for the different characters, so that’s fun. It’s also a quality recording, so definitely recommend listening.

Entertaining story during a zombie apocalypse. I’d recommend reading the previous books in this series before this one. The main issue in this book is the horrible people causing problems with some zombie action in between. In this part of the story, Amy and Tara have been kidnapped by some bad guys, and Alex got shot. Dylan and the rest of the good guy crew are in a scramble to save them; plus, there’s other moles causing problems for them too. Amy steps up and shows how strong she is. Dylan wasn’t handling things well, and she didn’t exactly show her best side. Like getting POV’s from multiple characters, and getting the different storylines. An enjoyable read, but it doesn’t get a 5 star because it’s not a full story. Cliffhanger ending too. Still an entertaining series though, and of course, I love the zombies!

Dr. Tara has been abducted and she is now the prize. In this ruined world, leaders and faction heads alike seek to possess her, because a cure is power. Human greed does not dissolve with the collapse of governments; it mutates. As society fractures, rival groups emerge, each desperate to secure control over the cure, knowing that whoever governs its production will hold the upper hand.

While the novel follows the familiar structure of a zombie adventure, it raises an unsettling question: in the face of extinction, would humanity descend further into chaos? Would the drive for dominance give rise to competing organizations locked in conflict, rather than collective efforts to eradicate the undead and work toward a cure for the greater good?

If aliens were to observe us, they would likely struggle to comprehend humans—and our so-called humanity.

An action packed and exceptional zombie apocalypse series

It is the zombie apocalypse. This is the story of a group of survivors fighting for their lives. One is a Doctor Who is an epidemiologist it was at the center of the beginning of the outbreak. She is developing hopefully a cure. Follow along as at every turn The evils of mankind attempts to end them. In every apocalypse humanity goes out the window and mankind typically ends up being the worst enemy. What an evil character runs off never think they are gone for good. As we know some characters will not make it to the end and others may. Check out this extraordinary story of a zombie apocalypse. You will not be disappointed and will be in thralled from beginning to end.

Tara and Amy are kidnapped by returning badman King, accompanied by snake Bannock. Alex is shot. What is worse than zombies in the apocalypse,????? Other humans who are evil through and through and hold a grudge while thinking they have the right to control the world. This series continues to develop and get better and better. Can our group save themselves while holding onto their humanity and desire to help others? I received this ARC and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Takes your breath away!

This latest book is a jewel in the Apocalypse Z crown! So far, that is. I don’t know if each episode gets better or if, as the reader, you become ever more invested. I do know the author always delivers plenty of action of all kinds, great dialogue and rich characters that aren’t perfect. Do yourself a favour and read this series!

It's winter and cold outside and most of the zombies are in hiding or gone for now. That leaves the more dangerous species, humans, as a threat to the community. The treacherous Lt. King thinks he'll get the upper hand by abducting Tara and Amy. However not everything works out as planned and the reader is in for another fast paced adventure in the Apocalypse Z series.

By this time you know all the characters and the first twist comes right away. This book has very little fighting but is loaded with suspense. There is more insight into the characters and there are too many traitors inside and outside the Fort which raises the suspense level. The suspense at the end of book 4 will drive you to buy book 5. I have become addicted to this series.

Baileigh Higgins continues the series with lots more action and twists. Book 4 grabs your attention just as the previous 3. This time Dr. Lee and Amy get kidnapped and Lieutenant King returns to the plot.

I’m an Amy hater but I do feel like she started growing up in this installment. It seemed a little weird she has all this survival knowledge randomly but I’ll take it. She held her own and got back to her family which was awesome.
