The fifth story in this series gave this avid reader everything she wanted to see in a book. The story has passion, mystery, suspense, angst, strong alpha men, and equally strong feisty females. I liked the characters, their interaction, and the deep, gut-wrenching emotions. The story picks up from book four, Doc, where his sister, Deanna, and her housemate, Laura, are rescued from Mexico, held by human traffickers. They stayed in FBI safehouses but have been released—but the word is, the cartel is coming for them.
Deanna 'Dee' listens and grabs her to go back, books a flight to Colorado, and leaves as quickly as possible to get to safety. Laura doesn't take the threat seriously and pays with her life. Now, Valhalla is on high alert, and it is decided that Bobby, Ghost, and Dee will leave for a safe house in Washington. Unfortunately, she isn't taken the precautions as seriously as she should, sneaking out of the house walking out in the open. When it is discovered, both Ghost and Bobby aren't happy with her—and she will pay the price over his knee.
Bobby: It's about time you and I had a little 'come to Jesus' talk. Dee: What is this conversation going to be about? Bobby: About your disregard for personal safety. I am absolutely certain Ghost and I laid out the rules for you on day one. Do you remember what we said the biggest and most important rule is? Not to leave the house unattended. Ever. For absolutely no reason. Dee: But I didn't really. I stayed on the sidewalk, it's not my fault I slipped. Bobby: You went outside the house alone. Dee: On the sidewalk! Bobby: Alone. You are not dense, Dee. You are incredibly intelligent; it's one of the many things I admire about you.
Dee feels she is being held in the dark and overhears a conversation before leaving Colorado and does something dangerous—opening the door for an attack. Now, they barely make it out, must hide out again, and find themselves at a new safe house location.
The story is a fast-paced, action-packed adventure with plenty of angst and danger. Bobby and Dee have skirted around each other, their emotions, and eventually, after a spanking, will talk, lay their feelings out on the table, and decide where and if they want to proceed. The chemistry between them is explosive, and they both have the same goals in life. I liked the honesty of their conversation and how to deal with the future. It was fun to see Teagan and Luca again and how well they blended into the story.
I am really enjoying this series and the characters and am so happy that it is not stopping here.
This is book 5 in the series and while it can be a standalone, it's really better to read them all in order because the characters play an important part in each couples story. Romeo (Bobby) is older than Dee but he has his sights set on her. The only reason he's been holding back is because she is his best friends little sister. Dee barely escaped being sold as a s3x slave as she was rescued by her brother and his team of former military buddies. That hasn't stopped the men who still want her either back or dead. Danger is everywhere and when Dee doesn't heed the rules set up by Bobby and Peter (her brother), Bobby has no problem teaching her a lesson over his knees. Can they all keep Dee alive and will Peter ever come to terms with his best friend wanting his little sister? Such a good story and each book gets better than the last. Ms. Gray never lets me down with her stories!!
Romeo: Veterans of Valhalla is the thrilling, steamy and well written continuation of the crime story that began in the last book (Doc:Veterans of Valhalla), but following Deanna and Bobby. Reading this book was one hell of an exiting ride with danger, romance, three different settings and characters from books not of this series seamlessly interwoven into one page-turning, adrenaline-pumping, heartwarming and sexy whole. The characters are lovable, complex, well balanced and well built, and the constantly unfolding plot is fast paced and full of love, heat, suspense and military action to keep the reader thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. If you’re into protective alpha males and strong intelligent females, and if you like some action and suspense to go with your romance then you won’t go wrong with this book ‘cause it has that aplenty and so much more.
Dee has a pretty big chip on her shoulder and a tendency to act before she thinks through the consequences. That resulted in a lot of behavior that would normally have me itching to break fragile things. But there was something about her character that caused me to want to side with her and not our hero, Bobby, when it came to her ‘infractions’. I look back on them, and I feel a bit like an anthropologist as I say: “ah! I see exactly why they work the way they do.” Their story is filled with action and intrigue that kept me glued to the pages, desperately flipping to find out what would happen next. I think one of my favorite parts about this book is that it bridges a couple of different things the author has done. I loved getting to see all the cameo appearances from characters I hated to let go of when their books were over. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
I sat down and read this book in one sitting. It was an enjoyable and quick read. Bobby and Deanna complement each other very well. He is older and she makes him have fun and lets him take care of her. He pulls her back from her tendency to keep her emotions bottled up and then do something she reckless and when they get to be too much for her. Since she is Peter's much younger sister, he has an issue with Bobby dating his sister at first, but he comes around pretty quickly especially since Izzy and his other friends support and understand their relationship. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Deanna is rescued by Romeo aka Bobby who is Twenty years older than her. Age doesn't matter, when you know, you know. The trafficers are after Deanna as she's the only witness left alive that could identify them. During their attempt to keep Deanna safe, she and Bobby get to know each other better and develope feelings that won't be denied and to h@ll with expectations of others. Lives are in danger, Deanna is Peter's little sister and that, along with the 20 year age gap just doesn't matter to the lovers. There's a HEA that was honestly earned.
In book of this series it centers around Bobby/Romeo who is her older brothers best friend and Dee who is much younger than Romeo. Romeo wants Dee even if she is much younger but he has held off because of his best friend Peter but when she almost gets kidnapped he has to make his intentions known to both Peter and Dee.
This is book 5 in the Veteran's of Valhalla, and while it could be read as a standalone-I recommend reading at least the previous book before reading this one. With that being said, in this one we get Bobby "Romeo" and Deanna's story. This story starts off where Deanna and her roommate have been rescued and released but they are still being hunted. Romeo has been asked to watch over Dee and keep her safe. But he not only has to keep her safe from the Cartel looking for her but also from her own recklessness.
I really enjoyed this book! It is fast paced and the story just sucks you in and keeps you reading. Dee and Romeo may have a large age gap but it honestly didn't feel that way in their interactions. And I really feel like Romeo is exactly who she needed to not only complete her but to show her who she can be when she stops and thinks about things before acting rashly. Romeo may be older but he needs someone who not only shows him how to laugh again and be happy but someone to be his place to come home to. Someone who can just be there when he needs them. They were perfect for each other! And it wasn't just the steaminess either! There was so much more to their relationship than just that. My only drawback-sometimes I wanted to smack Dee! She could be extremely careless and thoughtless with her actions. And I know that was her character but I honestly had a hard time with her at first. I ended up liking her by the end though, which just shows how well this story was written.
This is the 5th book in the Veterans of Valhalla series featuring Bobby and Deanna's emotional story. We pick right up from where we were in the last book Doc. Doc's sister Deanna and her roommate Laura are rescued from the human traffickers that held them in Mexico. They were staying in safehouses that the FBI has but they're free to go back to their lives they've been released but there's word that the Cartel is going to come for them. Dee listens and books a flight to Colorado she wants to leave and get to safety as quick as she can. Laura doesn't she ignores the threat and she pays the ultimate price. Valhalla is now officially on high alert and they decide that they're going to send Ghost, Bobby, and Dee to a safehouse in Washington. Where she decides that she doesn't need to heed the precautions anymore when she starts walking out in the open and sneaking out of the house. Romeo isn't happy to discover that Dee's being careless so he turns her over his knee. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this emotional age-gap romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Romeo is The Veterans of Valhalla series book number five, and it is about Bobby, the eldest in the group of friends and Dee, Peter’s sister who they had rescued from a sex trafficking ring in Peter’s book, Doc. The FBI has let Dee know that the group is looking for her since she can identify them. She immediately goes to her brother’s compound, Valhalla. But the men of Valhalla know she needs a safer place to stay. A friend who owns a security group offers up a remote cabin. Dee agrees, and Bobby wants to go to protect her. He also wants to get to know her better, which doesn’t make Peter happy. They go to the cabin and settle in. Dee decides to do some investigating into her friend’s death and ends up wishing she hadn’t. She finds out how much of a Dom Bobby is. Meanwhile, the sex traffickers will stop at nothing to silence Dee. As with all of the Valhalla books, there are elements of power exchange here, and if that’s not your thing, that’s ok. I enjoyed Bobby and Dee’s story a lot, and loved the suspense.
This was an age gap brother's best friend military romance.
Deanna Hanover was a middle school teacher and after the pandemic decided to take time off to go to school for her Masters degree. She and her roommate Laura were kidnapped by sex traffickers in Mexico. Her brother Peter and his team rescued them. The FBI called Dee to alert her the traffickers were hunting them and she flew to Colorado to her brother for help. Her roommate was brutally murdered and their house burned.
Bobby Romeo Decker is a retired Navy SEAL who occasionally flies scenic flight tours over the Rocky Mountains for his friend Bud. even though there is a 20 year she gap between them, he is interested in a relationship with Dee. He volunteers to go to the Lodge at Hell's Pass to help guard Dee and see where their relationship goes. He introduces her to his kink - domestic discipline. After several alterations with the traffickers, they are finally free to get their HEA.

This is the 5th book in the Veterans of Valhalla series by RJ Gray. This can be read as a stand alone but I would recommend you read the series as all the characters get reintroduced! This story picks up basically where the 4th book finished, Doc’s sister Deanna and her housemate, Laura, were rescued by the Veterans where they were being held in Mexico by human traffickers. They stayed in an FBI safe house, their captor was killed in jail, so these two were allowed to go home. The next thing that happens, they receive word that the cartel is coming for them! They need to get out immediately! Dee leaves straight away but Laura was to leave the next day, only she didn’t, she was one day too late and was found murdered, shoved in a chimney and the house burnt down! This is where this book really takes off. Can Bobby (Romeo) protect Dee? Will the age difference get in the way? Will Dee’s brother be ok with them being together? So many questions but when you read this book will provide all your answers. So sit tight and let RJ Gray take you on an exciting roller coaster ride!
Dee is in trouble. A Mexican cartel is after her, and wants her eliminated. She can identify them. When she gets out of town , and goes to her brother, who lives in Valhalla, the Cartel gets closer. His Veteran brothers on Valhalla keep her safe with everything they have. During all this, Bobby and Dee spend more and more time together. He is instrumental in keeping her from losing her mind, and she gives him a sense of home, which he has been searching for his whole adult life. This book is very well written, and a fantastic addition to the Veterans of Valhalla series. The author has real life experience with the military, and it shows. Relatable characters, beautiful settings and plenty of spiciness make for a book I'll be reaching for again. This book is not to be missed.

These are terrific stories. Deanna and her roommate are “taken”. She is able to call her brother Peter, who lives in Valhalla, but she can recognize the kidnappers - so they want her gone.
Feeling claustrophobic with her brother; a safe house is found, and Bobby goes with her. He is older, but feels a strong protectiveness and interest in Dee. A secluded refuge is the perfect place to explore those feelings - if they can stay alive.
Action-packed, intrigue and romance in just the right doses.

Another amazing Valhalla story! RJ has an amazing gift. She understands people and emotion and is able to use that to bring her characters to life in such a way that you feel like you actually know them. Her books are well written and her character plots are so well thought out. You feel as if you are part of the story as it unfolds. Romeo, like all of RJ’s books, has so much raw emotion. I love how she uses characters from previous books in each new book. It helps tie in all the characters and lets you revisit them in each book!
This is the 5. book in the series, it can be read as a standalone, but I recommend you read them in order, since most of the characters that appear in the series play important roles in other each couples stories. This book starts with the crime story that began in the previous book (Doc) and is following Dee and Bobby’s story. Doc's sister Dee has been rescued from traffickers, but the danger is over yet, Bobby wants Dee, but has stayed away because she is best friends little sister and he’s much older. But since she needs protection, he is going to be there for her. This book is packed with action, tension and attraction, it’s a a page turner, it’s thrilling and steamy and as expected very well written. The characters are complex and very lovable, so this keeps the reader highly entertained from beginning to the end. Romeo is book five of six of the Veterans of Valhalla series but can be read as a standalone. Bobby helps rescue Dee when she was kidnapped by human traffickers. When he life continues to be in jeopardy she flees to her brother for help. Bobby helps to keep Dee safe and also helps her through her emotional damage.
This was a quick read and even with the conflicts, it was a sweet love story. If you like action, heartbreak, angst and spice then you will love this book! I do suggest reading the other books in this series so you know a little more about Valhalla and those that live there, but it isn’t necessary to enjoy this book.

Another wonderful military romance with action and romance. Bobby saves Deanna from traffickers. Now she can identify them so she is in danger. Romeo takes her to a cabin to protect her. He is falling for her. There is danger all around them. Will they be able to have a future together. If Bobby lets his guard down it could be the end of both of them. This is a wonderful story with characters I just love. I fell in love with both of them. This is a great story.

Romeo & Dee’s story. Book 5 of the Veterans of Valhalla series. Exhilarating, action packed, romantic passionate scenes, take us on a journey through 3 different locations written in an captivating read throughout the 5 books continuing the story of each character living & coming in to contact with Valhalla.
Each characters story unfolds perfectly within the books keeping you gripped from start to finish with unpredictable plot lines to keep you on the edge of your seat, completely absorbed not wanting it to end.
Every character you meet within the interwoven books are all admirable in their own way.
If you love alpha men, feisty women, ex military action, BDSM, romance, steamy sex scenes & fantastic plot lines this is the book for you!
Wooow!!! What a Book!! We are back where The last book left off. BTW, these can be read as Standalone romances but are better read in order starting with Phantom. Bobby & Dee hit the ground running. The action is dangerous and of course the Alpha is going to do everything to protect his woman! Even from herself. This has enough steam to make a bon fire! The love and HEA are all worth it in the end. I truly enjoyed this unpredictable adventures.
Romeo is my new favorite Valhalla man! The saga continues with Bobby and Dee along with the normal cast of dominant heroes. It quickly became my favorite couple as it was chock full of action, sizzling heat, and romance to make my heart melt. He is the epitome of a dominant teddy bear - my favorite kind - and the fact that he was an older male lead added a characteristic that I appreciated. A fabulous read I hated to end, where I was only kept from giving five stars due to some editing areas. Cannot wait till the next story!
Yeah this is a military romance with quite a lot of danger and action. It also has a bit of spanking and some 🔥 in the scenes too. I thought that the story was fast paced and I quite enjoyed it.
In our last episode, Dee had been rescued from human traffickers by her brother and his friends. This is the story of where she goes from there. Romeo AKA Bobby has his eyes set on his best friend's little sister and she finds him fascinating but big brother isn't crazy about it and the traffickers are still looking for her. These two make a great couple if Doc and the traffickers don't catch up to stop them. A great story with a happy ending.
I enjoyed reading this story . It is Suspenseful , action packed and definitely sexy . It is a new to me author and I will definitely be ready more stories . The story kept me on the edge of my seat . Older alpha man and younger woman super steamy . Great story plot . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

This is another great addition to the veterans of valhalla series. Bobby and dee are in tune with each other. There is lots of action and excitement in each of these books. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the fifth book in the Valhalla series. They can be read as a stand alone, but they are better if you read in order.
This book starts where the last left off; Doc's sister, Dee has been rescued from traffickers and when everyone thinks the danger is over, it really isn't. Bobby (Romeo) wants Dee, but has stayed back because she is Doc's little sister. Now that she needs protection, he is going to be there for her.
I love the women that this author writes. They are strong and independent. The only man they submit to is their man. I can't wait to read the last book in the series.
I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I loved Bobby and Dee. This is a fast and quick read. Well written and described with lots of different elements, some a bit hairy. I enjoyed reading it. There are some hot spicy sexy scenes and spankings. All the characters are real and rounded. I have read a lot of work from this amazing author so I was delighted to be reacquainted with some characters from earlier stories. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I highly recommend it. This is a sweet, cute and full love story.
This series is fantastic. Romeo is a older member of the Veterans of Valhalla and volunteers to help protect one of his brothers sister , Deanna. Wow, there's a lot of action and sensitive things going on. I love this series.

Dee is feisty and full of sass and Bobby is her older brother's best friend. The chemistry is lovely and he is so patient yet firm with Dee especially when danger is surrounding her and she needs protecting. Great addition to the series.
