Mr. Suarez a longtime martial artist and gun instructor presents his 13 precepts on how to integrate martial art principles into his Suarez Gunfighting System.
It gets two stars for being "it was ok" per the goodreads guidelines
Pros: Very little good in this book. The author tends to offer short bits of advice that you may or may not find useful.
Cons: Get an editor mate and make it a good one. Scattered thoughts listed in disjointed paragraphs. Advice given often with a "take it or leave it" attitude. Rarely is anything backed up with good arguments.
Review: The book claims to be his 13 precepts on applying karate to gunfighting, but it is pretty much just the author's views on gunfighting. He could take his karate to gunfight applications and condense them into one or two pages. I can be a fan of the soldier/leo writing style: terse, to the point advice, (see Jocko Willink for a good example) but this author fails pretty hard at that by wandering around in the weeds and not getting directly to his point and staying on target (funnily enough, he does that with his actual gunfighting, just not his writing). This book may be worth it for the gunfighting advice, I'm not well read enough in the genre to know if it's unique, but if it is not, then give this book a hard pass.
