Ian Fitzwilliam wasn’t supposed to end up an English Lord, but after the title falls in his lap he works hard to secure himself in proper society, and takes a step into improper places as well, following a desire he hardly understands.
Jane Stanton is not only an actress at the Cupid’s Bow theater, she also entertains customers in a London pleasure house. When an adorable Scotsman ends up on his knees before her, she finds new joy in her work.
Lust turns to love and Ian is caught between his duty to wed and his feelings for Jane. In the end, can there be a happy ending for two people who stand so far apart in society’s eyes?
Hannah Morse is an author of contemporary and paranormal romance novels. She lives in New Mexico with her high school sweetheart and too many Chihuahuas. She can be found binging Netflix shows or reading steamy novels when she isn't hard at work writing a happily ever after.
I enjoyed this historical romance story with all of the characters. The two main characters were Jane Stanton and Ian Fitzwilliam the Earl of Whitecliffe.
Jane Stanton is an actress at the Cupid Bow theater. She is also an entertainer at a London pleasure house. One night an adorable Scotman ends up being her next costumer.
Ian Fitzwilliam has end up with the title of being an Earl. The title has falling in to his lap after his uncle death. While looking through his uncle stuff he find a book with pictures that interesting to look at. If he want to try these things he will have to go to a place of pleasure to do so.
This story was very steamy at time throughout it. It did have a few laughs within that had me giggling to.

This was an ARC copy from Booksprout I was given for review and this is my freely given opinion.
This is definitely not your typical historical romance; it is rather more of a sweet historical erotic romantic novella. It starts out with Ian Fitzwilliams, a Scotsman raised suddenly to a title in England, after growing up in Scotland, poor, with his mother, after she was abandoned by her husband. He feels out of place and probably a bit overwhelmed. The opening scene has him in a pleasure house, after he finds a membership in the previous lord's effects. He had found some intriguing erotica and was exploring his own urges and desires, which seem to be fired by thoughts of being dominated/BDSM. There, he meets Rose, the pseudonym of an actress who also works at the pleasure house to make ends meet, in preparation for his first experience of BDSM.
This is a rather unlikely love story that is about exploring Ian's desires, but also about Rose and Ian's growing attraction to each other, and his sense of not fitting into the new role he has been thrust in. It is not hardcore BDSM, but there is some whipping, bondage, spanking - so if that is not for you, then you may not be interested in this. On saying that, Ian seems rather naive, and sweet - very unjaded, and not high handed. I can understand how Rose becomes attracted to him, so there is an unexpected touching sweetness that lightens the story.
It was short, and unexpectedly sweet. At times I found the language a bit too modern, such as some of the exchanges between Ian and his valet. But overall a quick, fun read.
A wonderful story, so different from an ordinary historical novel.
Ian turns out to be a nobleman and after years of struggling to make ends meet, he is suddenly an Earl. From Scotland to England, a world of difference. Money in abundance but not knowing how to behave like nobility. In his great-uncle's library, he discovers pornographic books that stimulate his imagination. He, as a man, tied to a cross. His valet Jack knows where to find what he's looking for and that's how he meets "Rose".
As the daughter of an actress, Jane knows her expectations are low. As an actress and working as a Domme she meets Ian. The chemistry is there from the start and both want more, but how? Marrying an actress will certainly be gossip.....
This story, in short, I found a real gem in the historical and BDSM genre. Although it has a few light BDSM scenes, I especially liked seeing the guy's side. Highly recommended

Jane Stanton is an actress who does a little pleasurable entertainment as a side hustle. She meets a newly minted lord and a mutually fun time is had by all.
Jane is a great character with personality and spunk. Ian is delightfully naive and wonderful. They are both lovely and have great chemistry.
I rooted for both characters throughout and loved the interactions between the two of them. I really loved his manservant, too.
Really great dialogue and character interactions. This didn't feel like a quick read. The story felt complete and grabbed my interest from the beginning. I'm really excited to see what other things this author has to offer.
A few problem but a wonderful promise. They met in a house of pleasure and formed a taboo relationship can they also find a life together? This bit of naughty delight was such an entertaining read. I liked how the characters came alive in the book and as this one was a bit different it was extra interesting. Ian and Jane made a wonderful couple I am so glad I read their story. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
M’Lady is a female dominate/male submissive sexy story between an out of his element, newly titled Earl and an actress/courtesan. The characters are extremely likable and the story is sweet and steamy with BDSM elements. The side characters are also great. I keep hoping Hannah Morse will write more stories set in this world with these characters. It would make for a wonderful series!
While there is no actual Era/year provided, based on cover art Morse’s erotic romance takes place during Regency. While light in tone, the description of what goes on between Ian Fitzwilliam and Jane Stanton is very steamy and involves concentual use of bondage and spanking.
This book by Hannah Morse is not a typical historical romance. Due to its "heat" level, which was far from the sweet romances I prefer, I give it 3 stars. To be fair to the author, I'm sure that many readers will enjoy it.
