Astrid's a fae-empath hybrid struggling to hide her empath abilities after the passing of her mentor. With no one to guide her through her abilities that only continue to grow out of control, she withdraws from physical contact with others. Instead, she tries to find a normal life, identifying herself as fae only to avoid getting targeted by a group of empath hunters who have a base not far from her home city. For her, hiding her empath side and amplifying her fae side is her priority until she can find another empath willing to teach her. That and reading as many romance books as she possibly can to fill the void of companionship she can't safely pursue until her abilities are under control.

Ezra's out for vengeance. Having lost his mate to empath hunters, he reasons the best way to get justice for his lost love is to infiltrate the hunters and kill them off from the inside out. Doing so without hurting innocents requires time, patience, secrecy, and the abilities he keeps hidden as a shifter-witch hybrid. His quest is simple: avenge his love, rescue targeted empaths, and eventually find his way home to his pack.

Ezra's ambitions shift to a new one when he falls for another empath who is discovered by the very group he's out to take down. His new goal? Not letting history repeat itself.

We made it to the end! I started reading this the day it was published and it’s been a wild ride. Ezra was always interesting as a side character, but as a main character 🤤. Astrid was a whole missing link I feel like? She just connected so many people together. I won’t spoil what happens at the end, but I LOVE HAPPY ENDINGS. (Pls don’t come back to bite me in the ass)
