9/10:
I went into this 12-issue collection today thinking I’d read the first 3 or 4 issues. But nope! I couldn’t take my eyes off of the pages and I read the entire thing tonight. Absolutely great writing with plenty of different stories that felt unique and fresh (even though I personally disliked one of them).

The characterization of both She-Hulk and her human form Jennifer Walters is awesome, but to make them fluidly feel like the same person struggling with the same things is done so well. It’s this aspect of our titular hero that I truly think makes her better than some of the other Hulks, even her cousin: The Incredible Hulk.

I really appreciate how we see She-Hulk interacting with other heroes, former teammates, and even fighting the same foes time and time again (I’m looking at you Titania). I really don’t know much about her time with the Fantastic Four, but these issues have really sparked my interest in that time, especially due to the sibling-like relationship between She-Hulk and The Thing.

Truly an awesome comic collection for one of the greatest women to ever be created in the Marvel universe!

(Synopsis) - Jennifer Walters is a gamma-powered green goliath just like her Hulkish cousin, but her home is in the courtroom - where she takes on some of the wildest legal cases in the Marvel Universe!

(Review) - I have been a fan of she hulk since i first saw her join the fantastic 4 for the first time after Ben Grimm was out of action. And i have always loved her when she appears up in other stories stories like DEATH from the discworld when he appears i always smile and just feel good, and the same feeling i get when Jen appears, now i will say this now I have a huge crush on the character of she hulk so i might be bias! But she's incredible to me. And when they announced that they where going to do a she hulk disney + show, I just knew i had to finally sit down and read one of her own comics, so I grabbed this Omnibus as it was the 2004 run and the beginning of the charecters revive to what she is now and how she appears in other stories, and frankly I loved it, the storys where full of humour and badassness! The writes deal with complex stories while keeping them fun, you get to see and understand the 2 sides to she hulk and learn the struggle she's dealt with since becoming the emerald giant. It's all very fascinating and made me love and appreciate the character more! And then seeing what they are doing with she hulk on Disney + well lets just say that im absolutely excited and can't wait for what comes next for the character! And i need to read more she hulk comics in the future.

“I think I’m going to like it here at this ‘funhouse’. Only in a crazy place like this could I ever learn that some of the things the She-Hulk can’t handle - Jennifer Walters can.”

I absolutely loved reading this She-Hulk omnibus; Jennifer Walters’ escapades we’re cinematic, hilarious, and surprisingly emotive. A weird hodgepodge of storylines that brought together some of Marvel’s best!

Having gone into this knowing not a lot about She-Hulk/Jen Walters before reading this (just the basics that most people know) this overarching story was a fun read if a little all over the place in terms of stakes until the end.

The art was a bit questionable when it was being done by Juan Bobillo because I never really thought they could draw She-Hulk in a way she should look (solidified when She-Hulk was supposed to be showing off toned muscles) and that idea was strengthened when Paul Pelletier took over the art (I’m am glad they were the one who did the She-Hulk vs Titania fight).

So I don’t know if I would read much more of She-Hulk but this omnibus is a good collection of stories that show a different look at how super powers can effect people in the Marvel Universe.

The art is pretty meh but it gets the job done. The story and characters kept me engaged (I especially like Awesome Andy), and I’m definitely going to keep reading the rest of the run. Though in typical comics fashion, it’s a bit of a headache to keep track of…

A funny and entertaining 'She-Hulk' omnibus that, even with its length, can be read in one night. At least, that was my experience.

This comic omnibus tells a more complete story than any single volumes, and that is the cherry on top for me. Its individual issues are still funny and well written, though.

The art varies - I'm personally not a fan of Juan Bobillo's small, blobby, pudgy, childlike and often vacuous rendition of She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters (I've taken to calling her She-Sulk when she looks like that) - but when it's good, it's really good, and I can follow the whole thing alright regardless. The action is great and fun. The females in this are practically Super Saiyans! It's awesome!

Also featured are the Wasp (Janet Van Dyne), Scarlet Witch, Gamora (surprisingly and inexplicably), Spider-Woman (Julia Carpenter), Whiz Kid, Captain America, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man (at some of his best), the Fantastic Four, Hank Pym, Iron Man, Hercules, Howard the Duck (hilariously telling George Lucas off), the New Warriors (whoever they are), and lots of meta humour.

The 'She-Hulk Omnibus' by Dan Slott - it's what superhero comics should be. Colourful, fun, action-packed (in spite of its law firm and court drama moments, which is impressive), with clever, witty and creative writing, and plenty of character development, arcs, and introspection. It's a must for any She-Hulk fan, too.

The possible best lawyer in the world, even the universe, always striving to do what's right and just, who is also possibly the strongest woman in the universe - she's a cosmic saviour at any rate - GO, SHE-HULK!

This will be far from the last 'She-Hulk' comic - the last 'She-Hulk' omnibus - I'll read.

Final Score: 4/5

She Hulk was originally created to make sure that there wasn’t a Lady Hulk tv spin off that Marvel didn’t own, as a result her initial creation wasn’t thought out beyond her being a female Hulk. With Dan Slott’s time on the title, he was given a character that was all Hulk, no Walters, and (in the words of a character in the series) no depth. What he built from these foundations was a solid, funny, complex and unique character and world within Marvel for her to inhabit.

In volume 1, She Hulk is forced to confront her lifestyle and powerless alter ego, Jennifer Walters. She is hired as a lawyer for Superheroes and villains and, while she gets ample chance for scraps and battles in her Shulkie form, she also gets to flex her legal skills as Jennifer.

The series is funny, touching and self referential, a kind of Boston Legal for the comic world. There are guest starring roles for Avengers, Fantastic Four and more, but this is Jennifer’s series and it’s great.

With a She Hulk series set around a legal office on the way from Disney +, there has never been a better time to seek out what will hopefully be the source material.

I absolutely loved this collection and think it might be one of my favourite Marvel runs of all time!
She-Hulk and Jennifer Walters are both such interesting characters that I felt incredibly invested throughout, no matter the colour of her skin or the size of her arms.
I adored the legal cases that we got to see and would happily read a whole comic just on those! I thought that was such a good idea, really clever and totally original.
I was less interested in Southpaw - she's not a character I knew much about before, and I found her rather grating - although I think that was the entire point! I did find myself skipping forward to see how much she was going to appear which is probably not a good sign though!
Overall though I think She-Hulk was such a good, fun, clever read and if the upcoming Disney+ show does only half of these storylines it will be be smashing (sorry, couldn't resist!)

This omnibus is a super fun time with a full, satisfying plot. I loved the cheeky fourth wall breaks, I loved that everything came together so beautifully.

Every female character is well rounded and I was so pleasantly surprised at this, especially from a male comic writer. I even didn’t mind the skimpy costumes - they made sense in the context of the characters. For example, after seeing Titainia’s backstory, it makes complete sense why she’d choose a costume like that. It works. Plus, even when dressed as civilians, the women are dressed like normal people rather than runway models. The women are treated like the men and it’s so refreshing. For a majority male art team, this is a really nice change.

Also don’t even get me started on Adi Granov’s covers. They’re gorgeous, every single one and I love them so so much.

I read this because I enjoyed the TV show so much, and found it a similarly fun series of stories. The law firm setting provides a lot of storytelling opportunities, and I thought the characters were well established. Even without knowing the background of the character (e.g. her time with the fantastic four), the story all made sense. I enjoyed the artwork and humour.

Many millions of times better than the mean little show. If they'd used this as a real basis, and kept the character sassy but with a heart, it might have worked out. This had a slowish start but soon became enormous fun. She has to work for her wins, and that's the whole point if being a real hero (battle destruction and occasional mind control notwithstanding).

Comedic stories that actually made me laugh a few time. I was not a fan of the art by Juan Bobillo. At least it got better at the end when Paul Pelletier did, but it was never really "wow" artwork.
