The Vineyard Bride

Rate this book
Martha's Vineyard islanders open their arms to a glorious springtime of change. The Sheridan Women prepare their hearts and minds for long sunny days, family parties, and everlasting love.

After a blizzard roared across the island in February, Lola Sheridan was forced to postpone her wedding to Tommy Gasbarro, the handsome Italian sailor who stole her heart two summers back. Their June wedding approaches -- and the Sheridan women have a surprise party up their sleeves, one that will shock all involved and make Lola question her allegiances.

A year and a half ago, Susan's daughter, Amanda, prepared to wed her long-time fiancé, Chris -- only to discover that he didn't want to marry her at all. Since then, she's allowed herself to fall for Sam, the handsome front-desk manager at the Sunrise Cove Inn. But after all that heartache, can she really move forward? Can she really trust Sam?

When Amanda and Sam are involved in a heartbreaking hit-and-run car accident, Sam, Amanda, and Lola find themselves wrapped up in a mysterious legal case -- one that will prove, once and for all, who the Sheridan family can truly trust.

Dive into the thirteenth book of the Vineyard Sunset Series, where a vibrant cast of characters live out their dreams on Martha's Vineyard. This is the story of the Sheridan sisters, a heartwarming journey of friendship, loss, and love that will have you wanting the next book.

My thoughts: This was okay, better than the last few, I still don't under why there was such a huge postponement when summer was supposedly not an option in the last book. I was actually expecting it to be someone other than Lola getting married, Just like I wondered in the previous book what happened to Anna's dress. Anyway, despite some inconsistencies (Susan's new grandbaby was written out of the script), it was a decent story with interesting storylines. It's a novella after all so I can't demand too much. I'm going to start book 14 right away.

Recommend to others: Sure. It's a quick read and has some moments.

4.25 stars. C'mon, Goodreads, even Untappd allows .25 scale ratings, get with it already!

I'm almost at the end of the available audiobooks for this series, and I'm part sad, because I love this family, and part ready to move on to something else for a while as each of the Sheridan sisters has now settled down to their neat little lives on the Vineyard with the man of their dreams and their extended family constantly underfoot.

I'm glad things ended the way they did in this book, not so much about Lola's wedding, but other things, although I confess I didn't see part of it coming much before it happened. Which is always nice.

These books are a nice, quick read, especially as audio, and Erin Bennett has rapidly become one of my favorite narrators but it is definitely time to leave the Vineyard and go somewhere else for a bit.

I love this series that takes place on Martha's Vineyard. This story centers around Lola and her wedding to Tommy. This story is about some of her life with her daughter Audrey prior to them finally coming to the Vineyard after years of the sisters being apart. Audrey lives on the Vineyard in the family home along with Amanda , Susan's daughter and they live with their grandfather. some friends from her past come to the vineyard and Lola wins an award as a journalist and just maybe there is a hint of romance in store for the 3 sisters father. A VERY GOOD READ.

The Happiest Summer Ever

Once again the Sheridan sisters are giving bus an adventure to live with them. Susan is still happily married, enjoying being a lawyer, free from cancer and being the folder sister and Mother to Amanda. Amanda is in love with Sam. Christine just having Mia and looking forward to marriage hopefully soon. Audrey is enjoying being Max's Mother hand Noah's girlfriend and the latest editorial winner of the year daughter. Amanda and Sam gets engaged after being in a horrible car accident, Grandpa Wes meets a lovely older woman and another yummy event Lola and Tommy are getting married. Will it really happen? Read this lovely book and see what happens.

Loved this story -:the Lola and Tommy wedding and true love story. They deserved to have the perfect wedding and it was just a great story for the journalist. And if she solved a mystery and re-discovered a true friendship at the same time - even better. I liked having the next book set up - find out who gets engaged at the end of the book. Can’t wait for that piece of the story,. And grandpa Wes and his new lady friend - only can get better! Love these stories so much!

The Vineyard Bride is a beautiful story about the importance of communicating with old friends and remembering one's roots. The focus of the story is on Lola, her fiancée Tommy and Lola's daughter Audrey. I really enjoyed how women can be strong both personally and professionally. The drama of a hit-and-run turns into an important storyline too. I think this is a great optimistic read and highly recommend it.

A Vineyard Bride was such a great book. Lola Sheridan is an amazing woman. Tommy's aunt was introduced in this book. She was involved in a hit and run accident. She stays on the Vineyard and a story evolves around her. This book was filled with several love stories, but mainly Lola's story. I loved this book. Katie is an awesome writer.

Looking for some breezy, take to the beach mind candy, this is your book. It’s part family story, part romance with a dash of mystery. The book is not very well written, I spotted several wrongly used or over repeated words. But it was a sweet story with delightful characters.

just back to the Sheridan gals. this one was like 3.5* not the best of them, but not the worst. the writing style has changed a little since the first books. but the family is still there and I'm amazed by how much it still continues on!

A good series to relax and reset

I enjoy reading this series as a relax and reset in my life. In true typical romance fashion it all works out in the end.

Lola finally gets her happy ever. The trip at the end sounds so exciting. I hope we get to hear about it in the next book or so.
