Rayne lives in the Arizona desert, free to leave her house whenever she wants, she chooses not to risk death by sweltering sun demons. Instead, she stays safely indoors with a computer and all the words she knows, slapping them together in any which way she chooses in the moment. Often gory, sometimes erotic. She loves the limitless boundaries of writing, and tends to push them toward extreme.

What can I say? This makes me question myself, I must be a sicko for reading this whole book. Once you start though, you just have to finish it. Tons of sex and death. Rayne actually may be better at this than the guys... Sorry boys.
All I can do is lie here and wait, but I can’t find a single regret here, as everything flashes by, I don’t wish it had gone differently. I get to take my final breath while connected to Rhys. The last thing I do on this earth is turn my head and press it into the warmth of his skin. And there’s never been a better, more complete feeling.
A dark crazy collection of short stories, I won't say bedtime because most are a little too horrifying to read other than in daylight hours. And these are definitely not for the faint of heart. But well written and hard to put down once you start.
This is as close to a perfect collection of stories as I have ever read. I found it an emotional roller coaster, weaved with gore, gross out humour, and steamy hot diddlin'. Yet still, will all that, it maintained a strong voice, with Rayne Havok's self coming through, no matter how different the stories became.
Favourite of the bunch? Shit. Er. Well, one at each end - I really enjoyed 'The Boy' for the disgusting visceralness, but emotionally 'Devour' stamped on me until my heart bled.
But it doesn't matter - it matters that there are no bad ones. And that's fucking glorious for a single author collection. You read this one, now. I'm going to read the second one.
Downloaded this 8-novella collection to my kindle out of curiosity after having seen the author mentioned alongside several other extreme horror writers I like (Aron Beauregarde, Sea Caummisar, Daniel Volpe and others). Very glad I did! This was a pleasant surprise and I honestly enjoyed all eight stories. Have already downloaded "Collecting Rayne Part 2" to see what else she has to offer.
Raw…just completely and utterly raw and I am here for it, all of it. Rayne is now one of my favorite authors. I can’t give this collection enough praise and I will definitely read it again. Favorites were The Boy and XXX.
An extremely taboo horror collection with lots of sex in every direction. Almost all of the short stories from the perspective of woman, I ended up rooting for the woman in a way. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys dark DARK stories. XXX was definitely a rough one for myself.
This first collection is amazing. I have both volumes. Great deal for a collection. I rated the stories individually. Every story on this was 5 stars. Superb collection can't wait to read vol 2.
This collection is the 1st bit of work I have ever read of Rayne Havok. It was highly recommended by two friends of mine. And I am not sure how I could possibly thank them enough for the recommendation! The 8 novellas within this collection are just absolutely incredible! A superb mixture of horror , gore and some good old fashioned smut 😄 lol. I plan on purchasing volume 2 immediately!
Having read a few other extreme horror authors, Rayne Havok takes her rightful place right along side them. You want sex, blood, and depravity? You need look no further. When I finished this book, I felt like I needed a shower. Yeah, it’s that good! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is some of the stories seemed to come to an abrupt end. I think they could’ve gone on a few more chapters. But all in all, one great read!!
Collecting Rayne is the best way to get your Havok fix all in one place! With eight stories in one, you’ll be having a hell of a time reading through this tome. Within these pages you will find Christmas joy, true love, romance through technology, a traumatic event bringing family closer together, and many more heart warming tales! I guarantee you’ll find something to love in this collection!
Rayne Havok is a name that fans of extreme horror fiction, and those who like healthy doses of Smut mixed in with their Horror, should keep an eye on. And this is part of the reason why.
Featuring 8 of her Short Stories from around 2020, this collection shows her skill at setting a scene.
It doesn't matter if it's a slasher / torture scene, or a XXX rated smut scene, this woman has the skill to pull her into the scene that she's building. Breaking taboos liberally across the board .
If you are already a fan of Rayne Havok. You may need to read this just to be complete. You've probably missed a story or two.
If you are not acquainted yet with Rayne's work, this is a good place to start. At the beginning.
This was so freaking amazing I can't wait to read the next collection each story was so twistedly outstanding I couldn't put it down Definitely a 5 star read ☠🖤☠
Collecting Rayne is plenty messed up, and in the best possible ways!
I love a good short story, and there have been times, especially now with Godlessdotcom, that I have read nothing but short stories for weeks, or even months - but I tend to shy away from collections. Even with the masters (think Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Richard Laymon, and Edward Lee), there is a tendency for the author to include a certain amount of filler, and after a couple of these, I often end up losing interest in the book, and in many cases, I don't finish them. This was definitely NOT the case with Collecting Rayne. EVERY story in this volume is a dilly, and what should amount to an INSTANT splatterpunk classic!
Like Bradburry, Rayne enters us into the running as close to the finish line as possible, and from there it is a sprint to the end. Upon arrival, you find yourself breathless, but unable to contain the excitement you feel knowing that there is another race on the horizon, whether it is the next story in this collection, one of her stand alone titles (like Mukbang Princess!), or volume two in this thrilling series!
Rayne Havok was one of the first of about five authors that first spiked my interest in this genre. When I read Mukbang Princess, back in 2021,d I still thought of Richard Laymon as Extreme. At the age of 42, I was still a baby. I had read a few books by Matt Shaw & Carver Pike, so I THOUGHT I knew what I was getting myself into, but this story was on a whole other level - and I LOVED it - and I was hooked. Since then, I have read many stories by this author, but until now I had avoided her collections, for reasons I've already stated. Boy was that a mistake!
I would recommend Rayne Havok to fans of Matt Shaw, Carver Pike, Daniel J Volpe, Jon Athan, Matthew Clarke, and Jonathan Butcher. This author is a force to be reckoned with, and she does s€x scenes LIKE NO OTHER AUTHOR IN THIS GENRE (concider that your trigger warning)!
I honestly cannot remember anything about this except that I really liked it and will re-read it. I know its a collection of little horror stories. I recommend it, but cannot remember anything. I can't remember exactly if it's over the top horror, or just gothic. I know some stories are harder than others, but I simply cannot remember. I feel that I will be re-reading it again soon.
