Warrior Creek #1

The Last Chorus

Rate this book
When the last chorus ends get ready to sing a new song

Grief: To feel deep, acute sorrow or distress

Time is a great healer they say, whoever the hell they are.

Time hasn’t done me any favours though.

Despite my fame, wealth, Rockstar status I lost it all; my everything. My wife and son are gone leaving me lost in a dark grief that has swallowed me whole.

My family and friends think it’s time I moved on, started to get out of bed and live my life again. I think they need to keep their opinions to themselves.

I’m Beau Bradley lead singer of Warrior Creek and I’ll decide when I’m ready for life again.

Fear: an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger

Take deep breaths and appreciate my courage is how to face my fear, they say.

Whoever wrote that has no idea how scary facing my fear is.

As a single mum of a gorgeous, five-year-old boy who doesn’t speak means life can be suffocatingly quiet. Silence follows me everywhere I go. Sometimes it would be nice to have someone to share it all with, to laugh and talk with but I can’t let anyone in.

I’m Simone Addison though and I don’t let anyone close.

Can two strangers sing the final chorus of their past and help each other find a new song to sing? Or will the misery of their mistakes snatch away their chance of happiness before it’s even begun?

The Last Chorus, a story of love in its many guises.

I live in Cheshire with my husband, two dogs and mum in law and write romantic humour and contemporary romance. My first two books, Guess Who I Pulled Last Night? and No Bra Required both stayed at number 1 on the Amazon Humour list for 3 & 4 weeks respectively. My ambitions of becoming a writer started at the age of 10 when I started writing poetry at school, and was given the honour of reading one out to the rest of my year group (an horrific experience that I will never forget). Thankfully I have a wide variety of strange and wonderful people in my life, otherwise I'd be stuck on what to write about! I am currently talking to family and friends, finding out their innermost secrets in readiness for my next book.

My books are romances that come with a little more than vanilla sexy times, sometimes a few tears, lots of hot men and feisty women, but ultimately they'll make you smile.

The Last Chorus is Beau and Simone’s beautifully written, heartbreaking yet heartwarming story. One that I highly recommend to you to read.

This book grabbed and held my attention from the very first chapter - I honestly could not put it down. I knew instantly that this story would hurt my heart and I loved that, at times, I found it to be so emotional that I was reaching for the tissues. Beau’s grief is palpable throughout the narrative. This broken man's journey was perfectly penned by the author and I loved how Simone endlessly supported him. For such a young woman she has a mature head on her shoulders but then having experienced a devastating and traumatic event herself, plus dealing with the situations that followed, behaving older than her years is probable. My heart broke for them both.

For me, Ethan stole the show at times. How could he not? You’ll understand why when you meet him.

The Last Chorus took me on an emotional roller coaster ride and I absolutely adored every moment. I found that Nikki Ashton penned the perfect balance of heart aching moments with those that made me smile. I cannot express how much I loved watching Beau and Simone’s relationship develop. This couple couldn’t be more perfect for each other and I prayed that they could find their way through their darkness together.

All of the supporting characters added to the story perfectly – even those who I came to dislike or even hate. Beau is the lead singer of Warrior Creek and I loved meeting his bandmates and witnessing the friendship they share - not forgetting the support they give each other too! I am so pleased that Elliott’s story is being released next, and I also am looking forward to reading the rest of the band member’s stories when published.

I am struggling to write this review whilst trying to not reveal any of the storyline. I will close by saying that this novel is a must-read. The Last Chorus ticked all my boxes which is why I award it 5 stars, and I know that you will love this story as much as I do.

This is brilliant.

This book was brilliant from the start I was sucked into this story. The story is so good I really luvd Simone she has been through so much but this woman is such a fighter she might seem quiet but she fights for what she luvs. Her son Ethan is the cutest thing ever he's her world. The way they meet Beau is so good I really liked it. They all needed each other without knowing it.

Beau is a great character he isn't my favourite from the book dont get me wrong he's great but Simone and Ethan stole the show for me. Beau has had such a hard time and I understand why he acts like he does. But he is so lucky he has the band and family he has there just brilliant and so supportive. He might not think he needs them but god he does. And the people he never thought he would need the most was a cute lil boy and a lonely woman who lives next door.

I've only been reading Nikki's books since last year but god they have been so good. I think this book might be the best I've read from her. I wouod highly recommend it there is so much to this that you can't not like it. The story was so good and the characters are brilliant. I just know that this series is goin to be so good if its anything like this book. The rest of the band are just as addictive I need more from these guy right now I just cant wait.

This 👆🏻. This book. THIS BOOK!!!!! I'll start off by saying I've loved everything I've read by Nikki but this book is in a league of its own. From the very first chapter I knew it was going to rip my heart out, stomp all over it then put it back together again and wrap it up in a nice bow 🎀

Beau is a member of a band called Warrior Creek and he has just recently lost his wife and child. Simone moves in next door to Beau and has a little boy. Their journey is all about helping each other heal. It definitely isn't easy, a lot of guilt on Beau's side. I was hooked and it had me up until the early hours so I could finish it. I really don't know how to write this review to do the book justice! The emotions just leap off the page at you and it made my eyeballs sweat. Nikki you made my eyeballs sweat!!!!!!!!! I don't do eyeball sweat!!! I know its a good book when it can make me shed a tear 😢 These two characters are so good for each other and their journey is amazing to read. I love the side characters as well 😊 Well done Nikki, this is an amazing book that is in my top reads of 2022 ❤️❤️

When I first heard the concept of this series and what was in store with The Last Chorus, I was excited and a little apprehensive. Now I'm a huge fan of a Rockstar romance and a broken one at that and if I'm being truthful I was wondering just how one of my favourite Rom Com authors was gonna write this serious and broken book without the belly laughs and giggles.

Like the trooper Nikki is, this brave woman took on something that I'm not sure either of us were convinced she could pull off. But my god did she do it and she hit hard with a strong and beautiful love story. She makes you feel the pain, the fear and love right down to your bones and that's what makes this a really special book.

This is a story about realising that somethings aren't meant to last forever. That you were their happily ever after but they didn't end up being yours. They are one and will always be one of the greatest loves and achievements of your life and would forever be in your heart, home and life. Things happen for a reason and it was all meant to be how it played out.

I won't be able to say much more than I have, you have to know that this book has feeling and heart poured into it. I truthfully couldn't recommend this book more than I am. Here's to this special book and series in the making.

The beginning of this story just about broke my heart but it also hooked me in and I was desperate to know what happened to Beau, I am so glad I kept reading. Mind you this is one of my all time favourite authors and she always delivers quality stories with plenty of emotions, fantastic characters and an interesting storyline.

This was a fast paced story with a solid storyline, and before I knew it I was halfway through the book, I found myself thinking—stuff it, what is one night of lost sleep? Because, yes, it is that good! If I could I would give it more stars.

Beau was on the one hand quite a complex character because of the emotional roller coaster he was on but on the other hand he was really a simple, honest, down-to-earth guy. Simone was just trying to make it through every day the best she could for herself but more importantly for her young son, Ethan. Now Ethan was a pivotal character and such a darling little boy. I loved the dynamics of these three and their different characters because they were all very different but understood each other so well, even five-year-old Ethan was very intuitive.

The secondary characters were fabulous too and I hope the other band members get their stories as well. They were so diverse in temperament an individual characteristics but gelled, that’s why they worked as a band I suppose. 😁

As I said there were some heartbreaking scenes but there were some other ones where I was absolutely livid and ready to whack a particular character or two over the head. To balance this were the humorous scenes and the fun banter between the characters. As well there were some extremely touching scenes that melted my heart into a puddle of goo. Such is the power of the emotive language and its use in this book.

Ms Ashton has hit another one out of the park with this brilliant story. I can’t recommend it enough.

“You don’t have to tell me I’m the love of your life because I know that position is already taken, but please don’t ever tell me that I’m you’re alright for now.”

I’ve read a few of Nikki Ashton’s books now, and while she is typically a rom-com writer, the moment she said she was releasing a contemporary rock star romance, I was ready for it, and she did not disappoint.

Beau and Simmy’s relationship starts off with them becoming unexpected friends that find themselves on the path of a slow burn romance neither one was ready for. My favourite kind of trope! Both MCs were likeable with heartbreaking pasts that, at times, you couldn’t see them coming out of the other side of in one piece. Their tragedies defined them, leaving them as nothing but a shell of who they used to be, each living separate lives within close proximity… and it’s that close proximity that brings these two broken people together to find a way to start living again. That journey is what makes this book! That, and Simmy’s gorgeous little boy who really is the third main character in this book, without a doubt.

I don’t want to give too much away because I freakin’ hate spoilers and too much info in a review, but let me tell you this: Nikki Ashton just redefined herself with this novel. No longer is she allowed to pigeon hole herself as a rom com author. Now she must say she is multitalented and incredibly capable of writing any damn genre she wants.

If you’re looking for a story filled with tragedy, hope, friendships, undeniable chemistry, heat, and a gorgeous side character who will have your heart from the very first moment you meet him… then this one is for you. Well done, Nikki. I loved it!

Gah, where do I even begin?
I was hooked from the first page which is rare. I just knew from reading those first few pages I was in for a great read.

He’s a broken man after losing his beloved wife and son. His family and friends were worried but then he meets the neighbors’ son.

Ethan is a special child. He helps Beau with his overwhelming grief.
I can not begin to even explain their dynamic. I tear up just thinking about it.

I’m not going to say more. Just read it, you won’t regret it.

What an emotional read.
It took me days to try and come up with the words to do this review and this book justice!!

I've been a huge fan of everything Nikki since I was introduced to her through a book buddy a couple of years ago. And with this storyline, Nikki has taken Rockstar romance to a whole other level.

Through her characters, she brings grief to life in a very realistic but pure way so we're taken on the journey while living through the raw emotions of losing someone's whole world in the blink of an eye.

Two very broken people find in each other a reason to carry on, to live and love again after some pretty horrific circumstances.

A brilliant read, one that I'm sure will stay with me for a very long time to come. I wait with bated breath to read the next book in this series.

Nikki Ashton, you made me cry AGAIN. Now I have cried with laughter at Nikki's books and I have cried real tears of sadness for some of the characters in Nikki 's books. This time I had tears in my eyes in the first few pages. The Last Chorus is a big step away from the Rom-Com that we know and love from Nikki. This time we are dealing with such devastating loss that you feel your heart is breaking too. Yes it is the first in a new Rockstar series but very different to the last one. I made myself read this slowly because the emotions that you experience for the characters when reading this book need to be felt.

We meet Beau, world famous frontman of Warrior Creek, a hugely successful rock band, whose whole world fell apart a year ago when he lost his wife and child. His band mates lost not only them, but him, and the band decided to split to allow time to deal with their grief and try to keep their best friend out of a dark hole. Beau has shut down and not just from life but from the world . He has no desire to rejoin society and just wants to remain cocooned in the world that was his wife and chiild. However a football appearing in his garden and the owner, a little boy who comes squeezing through his hedge to retrieve it might just be his salvation. 5 year old Ethan doesn't talk, only to his mum and even then just when he needs too, which suits Beau because he doesn't want to talk to anyone. An unlikely but beautiful friendship between a broken man and a tiny boy whose mum Simone is dealing with some serious emotional issues of her own which we slowly learn about and it makes you angry at what she has had to live with. Can Beaus new neighbours help him see light at the end of a very long dark tunnel? Can Simone ever allow anyone to touch her without freezing and decending into panic? Ethan is the bond that draws them together, a beautiful little soul. I may have started this book in tears but I ended it with a smile on my face.

I feel privileged to have received an ARC of The Last Chorus for an honest review, and you've been given it. I recommend getting it on your pre-order list ready for its release. Well done Nikki, a couple of really tough subjects but written so well and sensitively. I can't wait to read Elliott's story in the 2nd instalment of The Warrior Creek Series.

5 star Review The Last Chorus by Nikki Ashton
Nikki Ashton is a new author to me and I cannot believe that I have not read this author before. This was an emotional, well written story that broke my heart, however thankfully Ms. Ashton managed to put it back together again.
This is rock star Beau Bradley, lead singer of Warrior Creek and Simone Addison’s story. The Last Chorus is a fast paced story that drew me in from the first chapter. In fact I had a hard time putting it down when real life got in my way.
There was so much depth to the story and the characters that you cannot help but become invested. My emotions were torn apart and I was in tears at times reading this story. Beau has been through so much and I loved the relationship that he forged with Simone’s little boy, Ethan. He was such an endearing little boy and I adored him.
Although heart breaking at times, this was a story of second chance, of finding love when you least expect it and of taking a chance. One click this little gem, it may break your heart bit it will mend.

I usually avoid rockstar romances, they’re not my usual cup of tea however I adore second chance love romance reads and of course the queen that is Nikki. I’ve been in a horrific book funk, unable to get into any new reads, nothing was catching my eye and was so worried I wouldn’t be able to enjoy Nikki’s new upcoming release…how wrong I was! I cannot remember the last book that had me staying up until 2am reading with tears rolling down my cheeks. I finished the book in under 24 hours, taking every opportunity to read.

This wasn’t just a normal read/story it was an emotional journey. From the first few pages I knew I wasn’t going to able to leave this book unfinished! I instantly connected to the characters, Nikkis writing of Beau in the those first few pages was phenomenal and so powerful, I’ve read nothing like it for an extremely long time.

The story flows perfectly and has the perfect combination of every single emotion imaginable for it to cement this book as glowing 5 star and too read of 2022…not only for me but everyone who reads it!!

I cannot wait for the next book! Thank you for such an incredible story Nikki!

Nikki Ashton has crafted an extraordinary story that I knew would be incredible and powerful before I had finished reading chapter one! The Last Chorus gave me all the feels and kept me captivated all the way through as I witnessed two broken spirits find hope and healing - Beau and Simone's journey together touched me deeply.

Through Nikki's magic way with words, my emotions were constantly stirred. Several times I shed tears, but I also smiled a lot, especially when Simone's son, Ethan appeared on the page - he was adorable! It is easy to go on and on about how much I love this story, but trust me, you just need to download it and live it.

The Last Chorus by N. Ashton is a Rockstar Romance.
Beau is on top of his world when he loses everything in the blink of an eye. He feels low til he meets Simone.
Simone is a single mom of a 5 year old boy. She's already through a lot and has the scars to prove it. She's a survivor, a warrior and my fav character in the book.
Reading Beau and Simone's story was heart-wrenching, raw and gritty. This is a story that stays with you. I loved the storyline, the twists and unexpected turns that had me guessing til the last chapter. A fantastic read, 5 stars.

Beau has lost his little boy and wife, he feels he doesn't want to live anymore. Can a little boy who doesn't like to talk and his mum bring him back to want to live. Beau was in a band, his band mates feel they are losing him as well. Amazing twist. Loved this book. Never read a bad Nikki Ashton book and still haven't. Feel honoured that I was allowed to read this thank you Nikki! X

This book grabs your emotions from the start and doesn’t let go! You will laugh, cry, gush, and get hot! Nikki has written a fantastic book here and I can’t wait to read book 2 in this new series. There are so many aspects of this book that I loved. One in particular is how real it is, she doesn’t gloss over issues or try to lighten them up. When the characters are having fun together you can see their connects, when the hard times come they are right there too! This story is raw and filled with truth! Add this one to your pre-order list and I know you will enjoy!
I was blessed to receive an ARC from this author for my honest review.

When the first chapter of this book broke my heart I know straight away that this book was going to all-consuming and I was right. It is no secret that I am fan of Nikki's work and this one for me was my favourite. She did a phenomenal job of mixing heartbreak with some humour and some serious heart. Beau, Simone and Ethan totally stole your heart from the very beginning and they have never really let it go.

Simone and Beau have both been through so much, in different ways, and are broken, they are shells of who they were before and are just surviving until a chance meeting thanks to Simone's gorgeous, heart-stealing little boy Ethan brings these two together. Soon as they meet you can feel the connection between them, its electrical, its palpable and once that flame is ignited it will be all-consuming but they need to get through the feelings of grief and fear.

Well done Nikki on such a phenomenal read that will pull you in from the very first word and hold you captive and enraptured until the very end.

Wine, tissues and ice-cream will be needed once finished but it is worth every emotion.

I sigh because I loved this book. I sigh because I loved Beau and Sim. I sigh because I've finished reading it. I say this everytime I read one of Nikki's books that it's her best but I REALLY mean it this time. A slightly different style for her, but she's nailed it. It's heartbreaking and uplifting and has the all important sexy rock stars and strong female lead.
I can't wait to read the next instalment and beg Nikki to release it sooner than 2023. PLEASE NIKKI 🙏

4.5 all the emotion stars

The last chorus is a story that touches on grief, healing, friendship, and new beginnings.

Both characters in this story come with baggage that weighs heavy on the soul and heart.

I was instantly pulled in by the heartbreak and sorrow pouring from the pages as I delved into Beau's world and his inner thoughts, what he was going through after the loss of his wife and his little boy. I felt the heartache and despair of his friends as they had obviously tried hard to pull him out of the world of grief for over the year and their efforts had been futile.

Beau was a man drowning in grief and self-blame until a little boy appeared through the fence of his garden to retrieve a ball.

I love a neighbor's kind of romance but this one isn't like any others I have previously read, there isn't an enemy to lovers agenda or any shenanigans. You begin to discover as the story progresses and after a few encounters between Beau and Simone that these two neighbors are exactly where they are meant to be and at the right time in both their lives. Destiny, fate, or whatever you want to call it plays a huge part in the development of Simone and Beau's friendship and relationship.

Although Simone is a likable character, I didn't fully understand her. I can't say I got to know her character all that well, her inner thoughts and how she had allowed herself to get to the point in her life where she was when she met Beau and how had allowed herself to get there weren't all that clear. For some reason to me, she still felt more of a side character. Why? I am not sure, maybe I was all Beau from the first pages. Maybe I wanted her to fight for herself more even if she failed but had at least tried. My perspective of her was that she was just a nice lady with a shitty past and a past she couldn't get rid of because of lack of strength, well until Beau came along anyway and he became the strength she needed.

In summary, The last chorus is a heartwarming story. An ideal Sunday kind of read. I love how diverse this author can be, from rom-com with the laughs and giggles to stories with words that touch the heart. I am looking forward to whatever she brings to my kindle next.

When you purchase a book from Nikki Ashton, you know that whether it’s her RomCom, contemporary romance, you know that your guaranteed a great read.
The Last Chorus is everything you want from Nikki , but so different .

Yes Nikki has written Rock Stars before ( I’m one huge Dirty Riches Fan), but The Last Chorus brings you such a different Rockstar book.

From the prologue, you are swept up in the emotions that run high all the way through this book.

Beau - who has isolated himself from all those who love him, makes a complex leading man & Simone the very quiet mysterious neighbour are the perfect foils for each other, even if they don’t quite realise just how much they can help each other. Add in an adorable 5 year old who, unwittingly plays a pivotal role with both Beau & Simone bringing them both to decisions that will impact everyone.

A superb cast of characters, that compliment each other perfectly and sets up future books.

Another triumph from Nikki Ashton & a guaranteed book hangover

A must read 5 shiny stars

It was definitely an emotional rollercoaster while reading this story. You can't help but feel many things towards both lead characters as they've been through a lot. There's something in each character that you can relate to which makes it at times difficult to read but in the end, you'll definitely feel some relief. Another great story by this author who really has a way with words! I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter.

Beau has lost a big part of his life and doesn't know how to move forward. The only thing he really wants is to be left alone with his grief while trying to figure out which step to take next. Nothing feels easy and when he meets his next door neighbor, something seems to be changing. Simone has been through a lot the last few years and now living in a new home with her son, she tries to take it day by day. When she meets Beau, she's a bit star struck but quickly moves on. Still, not a lot is going the way she wants it to be but there's some small light at the end of the tunnel. The more they get to know each other, the more Beau seems to be stepping out of the dark. But soon Simone's past will collide with the present and it'll be a tough road ahead yet again. Will they both find the peace they're searching for?... And will their path lead them to each other?...

A brilliant gripping read, you won't be disappointed
This is a heartwarming story, that will make laugh, cry, and get really angry with a few of the characters.

I was gripped by the story of Beau and Simone, the story is not a predictable read and you will be surprised at their stories. There are many other strong characters in the book, Beau's mother is one, it doesn't matter how rich and successful Beau is, his mother doesn't take any nonsense from him....haven't we all been there 😉

This book has an amazing storyline, with a few different characters but not to many that makes it confusing. So so many characters in this book stole my heart Beau, Simone, Ethan, Belle, Ronnie and all the other members of warrior Creek and a few characters that will make you really angry Marcus, Richard, Dicky You will be gripped from the first page until, the last page

I can't wait for the next book in this series

This is an amazing read, a well deserved five stars, I only wish I could give more Stars!!

WOW - I have to say this is Nikki's best book by far. As soon as I started reading this I was hooked and couldn't wait to read on and find out what happens and fell in love with Beau immediately. The story had me crying in sadness, crying with happiness and laughing out loud. There are some great characters in here as well as a great story line and, apart from the bad people, you will fall in love with all the band and Beau's mum and sister. I don't want to put any spoilers in but trust me - you're going to love love love this book. Roll on Elliot's story. This is a MUST read. Well done Nikki x

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, and to be completely honest I wasn't sure that I'd love it as much as I usually love Nikkis work, because I'm not a huge fan of rockstar romances. However, Beau and Simones story really gripped me. It's a story of grief, and healing, and has aspects of living with depression, moments of anxiety and deals with a lot of real issues, that people go through every day in a very respectful way. And in the midst of all of that, is the love and happiness and humour and growth that we read romance for. Its a beautiful story, and I can't wait for the next one.

It's so eloquently and beautifully written, it's both heartbreaking and so full of love, the emotion is crazy!

This is without a doubt the number one book any of us will be read this year. Beau and Sim's story is just beautiful, not in the sense of all hearts and flowers but how it's so amazingly written and we experience every emotion possible. I've felt the raw heartbreak one chapter, to the content warm feeling in another and then I've laughed so much I've had to pee, and believe me only Nikki Ashton can write one liners like she does. Seriously, this book was meant to be read and reread and loved. Absolutely blown away by this story. Well done to Nikki because this the best work you've done yet!

His family and friends were worried but then he meets the neighbours’s son. Ethan is a special child. He helps Beau with his overwhelming grief. I can not begin to even explain their dynamic. I tear up just thinking about it. I’m not going to say more. Just read it, you won’t regret.

A story to shatter your heart

✅ Emotional & heartbreaking
✅ Shattered hearts
✅ Sexy rockstar
✅ Single mum

Oh my heart!! 💔❤😥😊

THE LAST CHORUS is an emotional read from the very first word to the last. Nikki Ashton, one of my absolute favourite go-to authors, has written about two people broken by events that have changed their lives forever. Grab your tissues, they are definitely needed as your heart will be broken long before it is repaired.

Beau Bradley, lead singer for the rock band Warrior Creek, has become a shadow of his former self. His world has been destroyed and he cannot see his way out of the grief, heartbreak, and depression he now lives with. Just how does someone recover from losing everything he lived for? Simone Addison, a single mum to five-year-old Ethan, is also battling with a demon from her past. She's a strong woman, a real fighter, and will do anything to protect her son, even if it is to the detriment of herself. Little Ethan, OMG that little boy stole my heart, he is just so precious.

Simone has recently moved into the neighbourhood and next door to Beau, unaware of who her neighbour is. A leaking roof, an interfering mother and sister, lead to the first meeting between Simone and Beau, one that doesn't go all that smoothly. From here I loved the way in which their friendship developed. Simone gave Beau space, yet she was also there to give him support when he needed it. Beau was able to return the favour, yet he continued to keep himself closed off to everyone except Ethan. The friendship that developed between the man and the little boy melted my heart. The entire book I kept hoping that Simone and Beau would find the happiness they both deserved.

Nikki Ashton's superb writing, the depth of the emotions she delivers, and the way in which she portrays the love, support and friendship of both family and friends, ensures that THE LAST CHORUS is an unforgettable and unputdownable read. I loved Beau's bandmates, they were more like brothers than friends with their continued support for the man whose grief was soul deep. I adored the relationship that sprung up between Simone and Belle, Beau's sister, it was just what Simone needed.

THE LAST CHORUS was a beautiful story of grief, heartache, resilience, support, friendship, and love. It was one that had me shedding tears and breaking out in laughter, such was the range of emotions I experienced while reading it. Beau and Simone's story was simply perfect, one that MUST BE READ>.

Next up is Belle and Elliot's story in The Opening Line, and I can't wait to read it.

I knew when I started reading this book that it was going to be amazing and Nikki never disappoints. This book will have your emotions all over the place and you will feel so much for Beau and Simmy and the emotional roller coaster that these two will take you on.

Beau is a rock star but has had the biggest tragic loss in his life form his family and he cant see away out of the black hole of grief that he is in.
Simone is a single mum to a little boy that doesn't speak. They have also had a lot happen in their life and are trying to navigate through without causing any more hurt. When these neighbours meet it is the last thing on either of there minds to be anything but hello buddies but fate has a different plan for them both and neither of them are expecting what is about to happen.

I love the way that this author writes her characters and I love her writing style. This story was so heart felt and full of emotion and you will feel it it all that these two are going through and will reach for the tissues more that once. I loved how this author written them and little Ethan too. And the connection that they had to each other. It felt like all three were broken in away and they each helped each other find a second chance at a family and this raw heart wrenching story will leave you captivated until the very end.
